Saturday and Breakfast Out

I slept very well last night. I didn't even wake up once until 4:45 and then I just got up and made the bed and dressed.

Bob will come by about 7:00 and pick me up for breakfast out. We have breakfast out every Saturday...anymore usually at Eggberts.

I don't have a plan for the day. I may read that book I've been working on for our Church School class. A lot depends on the weather.

My friend, Gay, called yesterday. Tony, her husband, starts his dialysis on  Monday and we will meet at Cherryvale for lunch there at their Pizza Hut. His dialysis goes from 12:00 until 4:00 so he will either read or sleep during the process. She is not sure what time she can meet me and will either call or text me when she can get away.  Her sister, Adele, will stay with their mother. It's been a great help having Adele and her husband there in Chanute to help.

At  lunchtime today, Bob and I will have our hamburgers and french fries. Since we will have a large breakfast, we will probably eat later around 1:30.

Missy is patiently waiting for her breakfast so I imagine I had better get back to this later...

I fed Missy and later, after Bob came to pick me up, we had breakfast too...at Eggbert's. This time we had omelets. They were very good.

More even later...my laundry is finished and I need to get it into the dryer.

I read most of the afternoon. Bob came over at 1:00 and we had lunch. He stayed and did some laundry here.  After he left, I came back in and played some Free Cell  on the computer. Missy is sleeping in the recliner in the living room right now.

I see on my daughter's Facebook page that they took the puppies to the vet and had their tails docked and had then declawed too.

There they are...poor little things. They must be exhausted!

More even later...

Bob came over about 5:00 and read the paper and watched the news. he went home shortly before 7:00 and I took my bath and got the clocks set back an hour for the end of daylight saving time. Missy and I sat in the recliner and watched TV until I got too tired.

Closer to 9:00, I went to bed.

Friday and Exercises and Utopia

We will have exercises again today. Afterward we have invited Joanne to go to Utopia for cinnamon rolls and coffee with us. Unless she changes her mind, she will go.

I did not sleep all that well last night. Missy was restless and she sleeps on my bed. I did finally get back to sleep and feel fine. I have nothing in particular going today anyhow. I hope to read the book we will study in Church School this next month. It appears to be really interesting for such a progressive class as ours. I asked Bill to read it too and he agrees.

We will have our leftover chicken and noodles for lunch today with broccoli and Bob's coleslaw. We will eat later since we went to Utopia for cinnamon rolls. We may not be really hungry until later anyhow.

More later...Missy is being very patient here waiting for her breakfast.

We had our breakfast and Ginger, Scott's wife, texted me my itinerary for my Florida trip in December/January.  I leave December 20th  and come back January 4th.

Bob has decided to keep Missy here at my apartment. He thinks Missy would be miserable at John and Leslie's.

I plan to read this afternoon.

My daughter-in-law arranged the itinerary for my trip to Florida for the Christmas season this morning and sent me a copy of it. I am so excited to get to go spend Christmas with them.

I will spend Thanksgiving with my daughter and her husband.

More even later..

Betty, my landlady, came this afternoon and brought one of her renters who is behind in her rent. She wants to work it out. She will have the woman paint the trim around my east door, which is peeling terribly. I asked her if the woman could help me  get my windows out and washed too. Betty agreed, even though she generally doesn't pay to have her renters windows done. I cannot get them out since there are three parts to remove and I don't believe they have ever been washed before. I spent a couple of hours cleaning up the area where the window comes out. It was filthy! Then I washed the windows too.

Betty called me back later and said if I wanted her to, she would come by and put it back in the frame. I told her I had cleaned it all up and washed that window myself. She came right over and put it back together for me. It looks so much better! Now the woman will come and paint on Monday and after I get back from Cherryvale, if she is still here, she will get the kitchen window out next. That will leave the bedroom and bathroom windows. Then on the west side there is the den window and the two front windows, which are a double.

When that is finished the windows will look so much better!

More later...I am bushed now and should just read this afternoon. I made out the paperwork for the doctor in Bartlesville who may do my surgery after the first of the year. I have an appointment December 15th for a consultation. I received the paperwork in the mail today and got it all filled out.

More later...

My son, Keith, called and we had a nice visit this evening.

Bob came over this evening and we watched Brooks and Shields on PBS. We both like their commentary on the election.  We watch them every Friday evening sometime after 6:00 in the PBS Newshour.

When he left, I took my bath and Missy and I sat in the recliner and watched TV until 9:00. Then we went to bed.

Thursday and House Cleaning Day

I will clean the apartment this morning. I have already stripped my bed and done the laundry and re-made the bed.

I washed Missy's bathmat that I put under her litter box. Once again she wet on it. That was twice yesterday. I am just glad she makes it that far. I don't know what I'd do if she didn't. I can't have her use the carpet here in the apartment. But so far, that hasn't happened.

I have fed myself and Missy and have begun my cleaning.

Bob just texted me to see if I was all right.  We check on one another every day.

I have ministerial alliance meeting at noon today so I won't be cooking. Bob is going to use a Pizza Hut coupon for his lunch.

Tomorrow we will have the rest of our chicken and noodles from yesterday.  I need to go to the market and get some groceries. I am trying to wait until I get some more money in my account. I still have hamburgers and some potatoes for french fries. We may have those on Saturday. Bob brought over some ice yesterday and he still has coke here. That's our one really unhealthy meal. :) We do have a large breakfast out on Saturday morning and sometimes don't eat much the rest of the day.

More later...

This is the latest photo of my daughter's new Corgi puppies. They are full and taking a nap.

Aren't they cute!  There are 8 of them! They don't have their tails docked yet so the Vet must have thought they needed to wait awhile.

There are only 8 "feeding stations" and so Mama is all tuckered out.

More later...

I got the apartment cleaned and the laundry done and even went to the market to get some groceries. I've got about 45 minutes before going to Ministerial Alliance meeting.  I want to go early to get parking in the lot. I will change my jeans to slacks for this meeting. I clean in jeans.

I took Missy out for a little while but she would not be satisfied just staying on the carport area so I finally just had to pick her up and bring her back in the apartment.  Darn cat!

So more later...

I went to the Ministerial Alliance meeting but was really kind of dismayed. The president this year is obviously a Trump man and although he asked us to pray at the end of the meeting in a non political way, it was obvious he was praying, though carefully, politics.

Oh well, by Tuesday, the election will be over. Then the fun will begin.

More even later...

I read the rest of the afternoon. About 5:00, Bob came over to read the paper. he stayed until 7:00 and when  he went home I took my bath and Missy and I watched TV until 9:00. I then went to bed.

Wednesday and Exercises Again and Bunco

I went to the Cherokee Community meeting last night with Howard and Judy and their son, Patrick. We wanted to introduce those Native Americans  to the PINCH organization since we work as an advocate for minorities.  Native Americans are definitely a minority.  They served a dinner (I don't eat dinner that late so just had some ice teas that Patrick brought me) and afterward they had a lot of business to transact. What do you know! I won the first door prize! Next Judy won a door prize and then Patrick, their son won one. We were all so surprised! Mine was the best. It had a lot of great prizes like three certificates for two for dinner at the Cherokee Casino. I also won three certificates for two for nights stay at the Cherokee Hotel. I don't know what I will do with those. I may give them to Bredesen's.

Here is a photo Howard took of us with our door prize bags.

That's Judy on the left with one of her door prizes on her head. Patrick is in the middle with the man's cap on his head and I am on the right, holding my red bag. I had a lot of wonderful "stuff" in my big bag and it was too big to show in the photo.

We met a lot of Cherokee Nation officials there and gave out a lot of PINCH brochures. They invited Howard to speak and explain about the PINCH organization.

Later, Our photos were taken with some of the officials,

Here we are with some of them.

That's Patrick on the left, That's me next to him, Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin is next to me, then Judy and Richard Vann and Melanie Vann of South Coffeyville.

We had a good time and the meeting moved right along briskly.

We also met Tribal Councilor  Victoria Vazquez and this is her photo.

They were all very friendly.

My granddaughter, Ashley had call that afternoon and talked to me for an hour and a half before I left for the meeting. She brought me up to speed about my grandson (her brother) Jerod and his present situation.

When I got home I was very tired and took a quick bath and went right to bed.

Now Bob and I will go to exercise class this morning and then Bunco in the afternoon at the senior center.

I will fix a chicken and noodle casserole for lunch. I will have some broccoli with that and fruit for dessert.  Bob will bring a salad.

More later...

Lunch was fine. I hurried around to clean up afterward and then went to Bunco at the senior center. I had a good time although I didn't win anything.

When I got home the paper was here and I will read it. Bob will be over in a couple of hours to read it and also watch the news.

So..more later...

After Bob left, I took my bath and Missy and I watched "Nature" on TV. It was all about the big cats so she was fascinated! I fell asleep in the chair during Nova and didn't see it so we just went to bed. It was about 9:00.

Tuesday Hair Day and Cake Deliveries

I slept well again last night. I did wake up earlier then usual but shortly before 5:00, I just got up, made the bed and got dressed.

I will get breakfast for Missy and me shortly. She is waiting patiently here beside me this morning. Yesterday, while I was working on the east side yard, she lay in the flowerbed and enjoyed the sunshine.  I snapped a photo of her with my phone camera and tried to send it to my computer so I could show you here on the blog. I'll see if I can find that now.

There she is. She loves to lay in that flowerbed while I work.

I'd better go get our breakfasts. I'll get back to this later....

Two of my little great granddaughters ready for Halloween last night.

Aren't they something else??? That's Cheyenne on the left and Maia on the right.

I made my cookies this afternoon after I went to the bank and paid my rent. This evening I will go with Howard and Judy to a Cherokee meeting.  They will pick me up at 5:30. So Bob will not come over this evening...even for warm cookies this afternoon. He must be taking a nap.

I notice Bob is getting more fragile all the time. He is only 1 1/2 years older then I am but he really plays out. He says when he gets up in the morning, it is very hard for him to get going.

I am a little concerned.

Howard and Judy and Patrick and I went to the Cherokee Nation Community meeting in South Coffeyville tonight. I won the first door prize,  Judy won the second one and Patrick won the third one.

Here is our photo proving this.

These bags we won had all kinds of prizes in them. Judy is wearing the woman's hat and Patrick is wearing the men's hat but each bag had many prizes in them.

Howard was invited to address the whole room of people of the Cherokee Nation about PINCH. We took seven brochures and handed them out to the officers. The chief of the Cherokee Nation was supposed to be there but did not show.  Two of those there are going to attend our next PINCH meeting.(People for Institutional and Communal Harmony)

I got home about 8:00 and am going to take my bath and relax now.

It's been a big day.

Monday and Exercises Again

I didn't sleep as well last night. I was awake off and on after 3:30. I finally got up at 4:00 and went in to check my bank account. I will have to transfer some money from my savings to pay my rent. I don't get my social security until the 9th and the rent is due before the 5th.

My checking account record on Quicken was corrupted for some reason and I started a new account and put the most recent records in the new one. Then I deleted the other one. I don't know what happened but it was a mess. Luckily I keep a record of my transactions in a paper record in my checkbook as well. I mainly use Quicken to check my addition and subtraction.

Bob will pick me up this morning for the exercise class. But right now I'd better got my bed made and myself ready for the day. Missy is still asleep on the bed.

More later...

O.K I have everything done now except lunch and my cake for tomorrow. I also want to clean Missy's litter box after the fog lifts. We have had fog a couple of days in the past week. It's really foggy out there now and even though it's 7:15, it's still dark and Missy, with her built in clock, just doesn't understand fog when it's supposed to be daylight.

More even later...after exercise class...

I got Missy's litter box cleaned nicely and afterward fixed lunch. Then I raked leaves in the center of the fourplex. It's an unending job but needs to be done and I am the only one living here that can do it.

Karan brought her cake over awhile ago. She stayed and visited some too. I need to ice mine now that it's cool and then go to the bank and get some money for my hair tomorrow.

So more even later...

I got the money I need for the week. Now I will read my mail and just relax.

Bob came over shortly after 5:00 and brought popcorn for us to pop and eat. We watched the news and then he went home.   I took my bath and tried to watch TV with Missy but kept falling asleep. Finally, close to 9:00 I just went to bed. I was very tired.

Sunday and Church

I slept fairly well last night. I awoke at 3:30 and from then on couldn't get back to sleep. I finally just got up at 4:45. I have a big day ahead.

This morning after I get dressed and ready for church, I will bake my coffeecake for the Church School class. Then I want to empty and clean Missy's litter box some time today.  It's time again.

After Church School class, I speak at church and then afterward we will eat at "Just Us" in Cherryvale.  I will come home after that and do my letters...if the ink cartridge holds out. The black cartridge ran out Friday. I took it out and am now printing with just the colored cartridge. That may last awhile...who knows.

Anyhow it will be a big day. If I hold up, I may try to get the rest of the leaves raked and bagged from the air conditioner to the back yard. Since I don't have any access to the back yard from a door, I don't rake back there.

So..more later..it's 5:00 now. I'd better get dressed so I can get our breakfasts.....

Well the coffeecake was good and church went well too. Three of us went over to "Just Us" at Cherryvale for lunch. I have the newsletters finished and the laundry in the dryer.  So far, so good!

I'd like to read this afternoon. I finally got my Kindle recharged. It's too cool out there to rake and bag leaves. Last I looked it was 59 degrees. Who would guess it's the last day of October. It's been in the 80's lately.
This is Missy asleep on the daybed.

More later...I'm going out to see the puppies!

The puppies are darling! There is one black and white one...which is very rare. It will be more expensive. There are four females and four males. I should have taken some photos but in my excitement, I forgot.

Afterward, I went into Independence and vacuumed out my car. They have a quarter vacuum at one of their car washes. Then I came home and had just been home a short while when Bob came over to watch the news and 60 Minutes. He left after that and I took my bath and went to bed at 9:00. I was exhausted.
