Saturday and a Trip to Joplin

I slept pretty well last night. I was up early as usual. I have checked on Blondie but he hasn't been there for his breakfast...at least not yet.

I have had my breakfast an am drinking my Chai latte now as I blog "the weather on the 8's". I did catch that.

Today is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms.  Tomorrow is to be 86 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. Monday is to be 90 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 90 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 97 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 96 degrees and partly cloudy. Friday is to be 92 degrees and AM thunderstorms. That's the week! At least three days of rain. and temperatures in the 90's after Sunday!

More Later...

I took my walk this morning about 9:00AM and got back home at 9:48AM with another sack full of trash.  It's 9:50AM now and soon I will start for Karan's house. 

I want to go by the library and put their book in the book drop. Then I will go out to Karan's.

I still have not seen Blondie. He is going to have to find food elsewhere for awhile.

Friday and Dusting

I slept pretty well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.  I checked for Blondie but so far he is not out there. I did get "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is supposed to be 83 degrees and thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 83 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Sunday is supposed to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 90 degrees and  sunny, Tuesday is to be 89 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 96 degrees and sunny, and Thursday is to be 94 degrees and PM thunderstorms. It looks like some very much needed rain in the next week, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday are the only three days without rain. The other four days are forecast for rain.

It's 68 degrees so far this morning and thunderstorms forecast.

Blondie did finally come for his breakfast, ate and left. I took the cat food into the garage and covered it.

Then I took my walk this morning. It wasn't raining yet. I picked up a good sized sack of trash again. It's 8:20AM now. I think I left for my walk about 7:45AM.

I went out to Eggbert's at lunch time and had their pulled pork sandwich and fries and iced tea for my lunch. It was very good but there was way too much of it for me to finish it. 

I will take the Coffeyville library book back in the morning when I go over to meet Karan and ride with her to the campgrounds. It's 2:53PM now and there is some indication it may storm later on this afternoon or evening. At least that's what my phone says.

More Even Later

It's 7:10PM and I have just had my bath. I have almost everything packed. I will finish in the morning.  I am to be over to Karan's at 11:30AM. I want to run by the library over there and take the library book back and put it in the book drop. So I will leave earlier. That will take a little time. 

It is raining now. I am afraid we will get rain on the way to the camp.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM. In the meantime, I will read.

 

Thursday and Laundry

I slept restlessly last night...especially after 2:00AM.  I have too much on my mind. The festivities for the 75th (jubilee) year since the grounds were dedicated, will begin at 3::00PM.

When I opened the front door this morning, Blondie was sitting there waiting for his breakfast so I took it out to him. When he finished eating, I brought in the food.  Then I fixed my own breakfast and ate it there while I waited for the week's weather forecast.."the weather on the 8's"on the TV. Sure enough, at 6:48AM,  it came on.

It's going to be lots of rain this week. Today will be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 84 degrees and Thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 83 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Monday is to be 88 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 88 degrees and AM thunderstorms, and Wednesday is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy.  Only next Wednesday is without rain! We need it but a whole week?  I imagine Cheyenne's game will be postponed again. It was moved to tonight yesterday. We got rain yesterday too. 

It's 7:20AM and I was just getting ready to take my walk. I got into the car and picked up my umbrella that I had taken to the senior center yesterday..then I stepped outside...it was already raining. Darn! So no walk today.

The rain slacked up about 10:30AM and I grabbed my umbrella and started my walk. It didn't rain then but I wanted to be sure I didn't mess up my hair so I took it anyhow.

I got my laundry done today, folded and put away.

Mike Gullick, the husband of Leslie's classmate, came this afternoon and mowed my yard. I was so pleased he got it done this week. 

I am charging the night watch now. The other one does not need charging. I charge the one I wear at night with the desktop computer USB port. I am charging it now. It usually has to be charged once a week.

I plan to go to bed about 9:00PM. I did not sleep well at all last night.

 

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept pretty well last night...I should have. We didn't get home until  11:00 and by the time I took my bath I was definitely ready for bed. 

 The movie did turn out to be that Harrison Ford latest movie. "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny". It was pretty entertaining.

I got up at my usual 5:00AM, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.  Blondie was even out there waiting for me to open the door. I fed him and he finished eating and went out on the driveway to rest. I picked up trash out of my front yard from the boy across the street who threw a lot of his fireworks across the street into my yard...plus, some of the branches of the tree on the west side were on the ground on the west side yard. I picked those up and put those in the trash receptacle too. It was a mess alright.

I imagine if I take my walk this morning, I will find a lot of fireworks trash. It's 7:01AM right now and I have just finished my breakfast.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" this morning.

Today is forecast for 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. Thursday is to be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 82 degrees and thunderstorms, and Saturday is to be 85 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 84 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Monday is to be 90 degrees sunny, Tuesday is to be 91 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week,,some well needed rain. I have no idea when my yard can be mowed.

I have a 9:00AM appointment for my hair today and Bunco this afternoon at the senior center. With all this rain, I imagine Cheyenne's game will be cancelled this evening or at least postponed.

Sure enough, her game was postponed until tomorrow but they don't seem to realize that rain is in the forecast until next Monday.

I got back from Bunco  around 3:45PM. I won the most wind and was give $5.00 for that. I had 19 wins.

I went to the library there in Coffeyville and checked out a book. Now I have something to read. It's 4:13PM now.

Tuesday and A Movie

I slept much better last night. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast here in the den. When I opened the front door this morning, Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast.I fed him, he ate his fill and left and I took the cat food back in the garage.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" early. It's 6:21 AM now and I hope to get my walk in before the weather changes to rain this evening. 

Today is to be 95 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 91 degrees and PM thunderstorms,  Thursday is to be 83 degrees and AM thunderstorms,  Friday is to be 84 degrees and thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 87 degrees and isolated thunderstorms and Monday is to be 92 degrees and mostly sunny.

Sally and I have our movie in Bartlesville this evening at 7:00PM. Hopefully the rain will hold off until we get home from that. I am not wild about driving in the rain.  I hope it is that Harrison Ford latest movie. "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny".

Unfortunately Cheyenne's game  is to be tomorrow night at Coffeyville at 7:30PM and there is rain in the forecast tomorrow evening. If it is cancelled, she will have to play another night. If they win tomorrow evening, they will play again the next evening. If they lose tomorrow evening they are finished for the season. I intend to go watch it if they play tomorrow evening.

I want to take my walk while it's nice.

I left at 6:40AM for my walk and got home at 7:19AM. I picked up a sack of trash again. Some of it fireworks stuff  but I didn't clean up the huge mess across the street from me. I taught my kids and even the grandkids who lived with us for awhile, that if they made a mess, they had to clean it up. I don't believe in enabling kids by doing their work for them when they make a mess. That teaches them nothing about taking responsibility for their own decisions.

It's 7:24AM now. 

More Later... 

I read most of the morning and then I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to Independence and have lunch at that fish place. They told us the last time we were in there that they stayed open 365 days a year and didn't even close for holidays.

But they were closed.  We tried that Mom and Pop buffet but it was closed too. 

Finally  we stopped at the Dairy Queen and they were open so we went in and had their special..three chicken strips, french fries, gravy and an ice cream sundae with chocolate syrup. We even had a refillable drink.

Both dinners came to a little over $12.00. And you couldn't beat the dinner. It was very good. I am really full too. I didn't even eat all my french fries. But I ate that sundae!

I will pick up Sally for our movie this evening at 6:00PM.

 

Monday and a Trip to see Nancy

I slept restlessly last night. I had too much on my mind. I will be taking Sally to Bartlesville today and while she is working, I will visit Nancy again. I hope she's up to it.  She looked terrible last Thursday when I went to see her. She had fallen the week before and her face was a mess. She must have fallen on it.

Sally's car is in the shop for several repairs. I will take her to work today but I can't take her Wednesday. Toni went to a lot of unexpected trouble to keep my hair appointment at 9:00AM in Coffeyville. I have to make it. 

I will take Sally back home after I take Nancy back to the assisted living today But she will have to make different arrangements for Wednesday and Friday. And Wednesday evening I want to attend Cheyenne's game in Coffeyville at 7:00PM. It is at the ball field on Stark..near where I used to live in Coffeyville.

 I will also be driving back to the concert in Bartlesville tomorrow evening.

Then I have Bunco in the afternoon on Wednesday at the senior center. 

I had all that on my mind. 

I believe Karan wants to leave for the reunion grounds early Saturday. I will have to check that out with her. She is driving and I have to do it when she is driving and she is taking me with her.

I checked out Blondie and once again, he is not out there for his breakfast. This is the second day in a row that he has not been there.

Today is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy too, and Wednesday is to be 92 and PM thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 84 degrees and thunderstorms, and Friday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 90 degrees and scattered thunderstorms and Sunday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! Four days of rain and very hot weather.

More Later. I had better eat my breakfast. It is 6:36AM and I will pick up Sally at 8:00AM.

I stepped outside to take my walk and lo and behold, Blondie came to the front door ready for his breakfast. I was so glad. I went back in the garage and got his food. I won't have time to take my walk now but at least Blondie got some food for his breakfast.  He has missed a few breakfasts and is thinner. I will leave the food out there in case he wants more later on.

More Later...

I picked up Sally at 7:50AM and took her to Bartlesville to the YMCA where she is a physical therapist Then I went out to see Nancy. She had just been taken to the doctor for her fall injuries.

I drove around awhile and then went up to the YMCA and sat in a chair inside where it was cool. When Sally arrived from her class, we went out to the Boulevard Diner and had breakfast.  

Then I took her home.

I went to our market and got my milk and Coffeemate. I didn't buy it at the Walmart store in Bartlesville because I was sure it would be sour by the time I got home and put it in the frig. It was so hot!

I got my huge City of Caney bill. It was over $108.00. I went ahead and wrote a check for it and put it in the city's box at the town hall.

Then I called Dale, Nancy's cousin. I learned that he was the one that took her to the doctor this morning. He and his wife are just about to take a vacation for two weeks. I was glad I found him home. 

I called Karan to see when she was going to want to be at the reunion grounds and she said she was planning on leaving her house early Saturday morning. That should work. Then Leslie told me nothing starts until 3:00PM. in the afternoon. Karan thought it was to be 11:00AM and we were going to start early Saturday morning.

I took my bath a little early...I slept so poorly last night. It's 8:31PM now and I have been reading this evening. I plan to get to bed before 9:00PM.

 

Sunday and Breakfast at Chrrch

 I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00M, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. Then I made my coffeecake for the breakfast at church. I have it in the oven now.

I checked for Blondie but he wasn't out there. I will check again later.

Today is to be 90 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 96 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 94 and degrees partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 86 degrees and AM thunderstorms and Friday is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. So it looks like a couple of days of rain and much hot weather.  It appears the rain will be Thursday and Friday.

Blondie never came for his breakfast this morning. I hope he's alright! After losing Scruff, I am leery of what happened to her happening to him too when ever he's not here for his breakfast.

I just took my mile walk. I left here at 7:35AM and got back at 8:06AM. I got a small bag of trash this morning too.

Sally invited me to go to Bartlesville for the 4th to a concert at their Community Center. Her daughter, Diana, bought two tickets to give her and she invited me to go. Tuesday is the 4th. Sally's car is in the shop so I may drive. Her car has several things wrong with it. It is even older then mine. Mine is a 2008. I think hers is in the late 1990's. I will take her to work tomorrow when I go to visit Nancy.

Tuesday will be our concert and  then Wednesday I have my 9:00AM hair appointment in Coffeyville and Bunco in the afternoon at 1:00PM at the senior center there. It would have to be  awfully early if she needs me to take her to work on Wednesday. She hopes her car will be ready by Wednesday. She needs to be there by 8:00AM and gets off work at 11:30AM.

We will see what happens.

More Later...

I will leave for church at 9:00AM so I can go into Coffeyville and out to the Woodshed in South Coffeyville to get gas before the breakfast at 10:00AM. It's 8:29 now...or I may wait until after church and after lunch with Phyllis at Eggbert's and go out to South Coffeyville then.

I ended up going before church to get my gas. Then when I got to church there were only four of us for breakfast. I was the only one that brought anything so they had Chai Latte and coffeecake. Karan had had family that left just before she left for church. She had no time to fix anything. Luckily there was lots of coffeecake and everyone there..Karan, John and Leslie ate coffeecake. That worked out fine. 

John worked on my trimmer and got it fixed. I am so happy about that. He had to loosen two screws and slip the rod back in the cover. I evidently dented the cover when I was trying to force it to fix it myself.

We had a good group for church though. The service was very good. Leslie was in charge and it was communion Sunday too. She did a very good job!

I got home at 2:33PM after I had lunch with Phyllis Fredensborg. I saw one of my classmates there at Eggberts..actually two. One was Phyllis Runnels and the other was John Wade. It had been years since I had seen Phyllis Runnels. I spoke to her briefly. She was with her husband and some of her family. She knew Phyllis Fredensborg from an experience of buying shoes from her when Phyllis F. worked at Brown Shoe Fit. 

More Later...I want to get my church letters done.

I got that finished and took them to the post office and mailed them off.

I have been watching 60 Minutes on TV.

Tomorrow I will pick up Sally at 8:15AM or so and take her to work before I go visit Nancy.  Then I will pick her up at 11:30AM and take Nancy back to the assisted living before I take Sally home to Caney.

I just took my bath and will read in my book before bedtime. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM. I have run out of allergy pills so I hope I will be able to sleep. They have been doing fireworks all week long until 10:00PM.
