Saturday and Breakfast at Eggberts

We will go to Eggberts this morning for breakfast. I know Bob prefers Eggberts for breakfast. We will just alternate and we will both be happy. I like Sirloin Stockade best because the food is always hot but I know it's more expensive.

Whoops! It's time to leave to pick him up. I will get back to this later.!

O.K. I'm back. I had another cold breakfast. That's three this time. Next week we will go to ,Sirloin Stockade and I will get a warm and possibly hot breakfast.  I hate to pay almost $8.00 for a cold breakfast.

This evening Tony, Diana's husband, wants to take all of us to dinner somewhere in Independence. I usually don't eat dinner after I have lunch. On Saturday I just have something light mid-afternoon because I have a large breakfast but I haven't tried to beg off. I don't want to hurt someone's feelings. I will have to give it some thought or if I go I will have a light dinner.

I gave Bob back the tickets he had bought for us to attend the Salvation Army salad luncheon on Tuesday. Leslie asked me to go to Joplin with her on Tuesday and I accepted before I realized that was the same Tuesday as the salad luncheon. I encouraged him to ask Marilyn or even Denise, his younger daughter, to go with him and still attend it. I am full now and will not eat anything until late afternoon. Then I won't want dinner.

More later....

Well, I remade my bed and also changed the tablecloth and  set the table for Monday. I took Missy out for awhile but it was too windy for her and she came back in the apartment. She ate some grass and enjoyed the sunshine but does not like the wind.

Later Bob texted me about going with Tony, Diana, Denise and him to Great China. I had already turned them down once...feeling they needed to spend the time together as a family...so I accepted.    We met them at Great China in Independence and had a good meal.

When Bob brought me home I took my bath and lay with Missy on the sofa until time to go to bed. I went to bed at 9:00. I was very tired.

Friday and Exercises and Utopia Cinnamon Rolls

I slept well last night and got up about 5:00 which is my regular rising time. I only awoke once during the night and I took my thyroid med then.

This morning Bob will pick me up for exercise class and cinnamon rolls and Utopiachino afterward. I got the apartment cleaned yesterday.

Bob's daughter and her husband from Wisconsin will be here today...sometime this morning. They got in last night but stayed overnight in Independence at a motel and usually sleep late so they will probably not be down to see him until close to noon.

I am not sure what I will do today. I had hoped to meet Myra for lunch but have not heard from her. I e-mailed her yesterday afternoon.

More later....

Bob picked me up for exercise class and afterward a group from exercise class went to Utopia for a cinnamon roll and coffee. I had my usual...a Utopiachino. The cinnamon roll was free. The administrator of Windsor Assisted Care bought everyone's cinnamon roll. She was there again.

Bob's daughter called him while we were there and said she was just getting up so he assumed it would be noon before they came to Coffeyville.  So we left and he dropped me off at home.

More even later....

I lay down with Missy for a nap after cooking a couple of hamburgers and watched TV.

When I got home I did some puttering. I took Missy outside and let her walk around. I saw my neighbor on the east and went over and visited with her.  When I missed Missy, I went to the kitchen door and found her laying on the doormat and patiently waiting to get back in the apartment until Bob asked me over to visit with his daughters granddaughter and son in law.  I went and visited for 25 minutes after I ate my hamburger. I took Bob the other one.

When I came back home my newspaper was here so I read that. I lay back down with Missy until 5:30 and watched the news. Bob came over then to watch the CBS news. He was very tired. He had missed his nap. He went back home at 6:30 and I took my bath and lay back down again on the sofa   and watched TV until 10:00. Then I went to bed.

Thursday and Ministerial Alliance

I slept fitfully last night. I had too much on my mind, I guess. Finally I took a Melatonin tablet and finally got back to sleep. I slept until a little after 5:00. I got myself ready for the day and fed Missy and myself.

This morning I want to vacuum the apartment.  The kitchen and bathroom floors were done Tuesday.  I dusted well last week so that should be a small job.

I will be eating lunch at Ministerial Alliance this noon. Bob will eat the rest of the veggie beef soup we had on Monday.

His older daughter and her husband will be coming to Kansas today. They live in Wisconsin. They will get in later and stay overnight in a  motel. He will see them in the morning..later, I imagine.  They sleep in awhile. They will leave Sunday morning to go see her middle son. He teaches at Leavenworth, Kansas.

More later...

I went to Ministerial Alliance at noon. The lunch was yucky but the meeting was pretty productive. The cook had fried chicken in a deep fryer with green beans and potato wedges. They were all well overdone and almost impossible to eat.  Most did not eat it.

I got the vacuuming done and also had an opportunity to take Missy outside. It was a lovely sunshiny day.   She loved it! And I put a trash bag in my trash container outside and picked up a few leaves from my flowerbeds. The leaves are mostly gone. Steve mowed them last weekend.

I lay down with Missy on the sofa after that and we had a short nap.

Around 5:00, Bob came over to watch the news. He left at 7:00 and I took my bath and watched TV with Missy until 9:00 then I went to bed.

Wednesday and Exercises and Bunco

I slept very well last night even though we had storms all evening and most of the night.  We even had some pea sized hail. We have had some much needed rain.  There are severe storms all over the nation right now but mostly in the south east. I worry a little about my son and his wife and my granddaughter. They live in Florida and Georgia.

I'm going to have to take an allergy pill today. My nose is already running and I have had a sneezing spell when I first came into the kitchen to feed Missy.

We will go to exercise class this morning. I will pick Bob up at 8:40. Afterward we will finish off the hamburger pie. Bob will bring a salad. I have cupcakes for dessert.

After lunch..at 1:00, I will go to the senior center to play Bunco. I will need to fix a treat for that.   I will either take cookies or buy something.

Betty has not rented the apartment behind me yet. As far as I know, she hasn't even shown it since Jeannie moved out last Saturday. I hope she's very careful who she rents that to. Jeannie wasn't a bit of a problem. Marilyn and the Russells are great neighbors. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

More later.....I went to the Dollar general store and bought some trail mix to take to the Bunco party this afternoon. Some of the participants are diabetic and that's a treat they can handle. Besides if they don't use it all, I can bring it home and put it in my candy jar. I like trail mix.

It's very windy out. My hair will be a mess after I get to exercise class. It's always something. If it's not rain, it's wind!

More even later.

I bought some trail mix for the treat at Bunco and am also taking a dozen cookies.  That should suffice.  I have the hamburger pie in the microwave ready to be heated up for lunch. Bob is bringing a salad. I have made up peach tea and we have cupcakes for dessert.

Betty came by to tell me that she would have my windows in a week. She also told me she was angry with Marilyn for being rude to Kenny who then quit the job of being her maintenance man.  She says that made two maintenance men that Marilyn was rude to and that Betty lost. Kenny was just being too familiar with Marilyn and she did not appreciate that. But I did not tell Betty that. I figured Marilyn could do that if she wanted it told.

Dinner was fine and I sent the rest of the hamburger pie home with Bob. After that, I went to the Bunco games and had a good time there. I didn't win anything...not surprised. I seldom do but I still enjoy it.

The paper will be out in about an hour. All I got in the mail was junk mail.  The paper usually has little or nothing of any interest except for the crossword puzzle.  It's strange...the Chronicle is a weekly that I get in e-mail and it has five times more local and area news then either the Reporter or the Journal.  The Journal comes out twice a week and the Reporter five days a week.

Bob will likely be over at 5:15 and reads the Reporter and watches the news here.

He did come and watch the news and later...an old episode of The Big Bang Theory.

After he left, I took my bath and Missy and i watched "Nature", her favorite TV program.

About 9:00, we went to bed.

Tuesday and Cakes and Hair and Juanita to the Doctor

I will take the cakes to Independence first thing this morning. I will go by myself this time. Bob will drive his own car up to go to visit his sister, Betty.  Then I will get my hair done at 9:00 and after that I will pick up Juanita to take her to the clinic to get her blood work done. I have no idea how long that will take. Those that are only getting their blood work done are on a first come, first serve basis. I will not get her up there until around 9:30. So it may be at least an hour of waiting. We will see.  Then I will text Bob and see if he wants to go to lunch.

I slept well again last night. I took an allergy pill when I went to bed. That always helps...when I don't have nighttime drainage.

I want to clean my bare floors again today. The kitchen floor always gets very dirty if I forget to take my shoes off when I walk on it. Other then that I don't have a plan for the rest of the day.

Bob was still not feeling really well yesterday after the Sunday night stomach problem.  He was going to go to bed early last night. His daughter and son in law are coming this weekend to visit him. They will just come for the weekend and go on up north to visit her middle son. He teaches history at a college in Lawrence, Kansas.

Tomorrow I will have the hamburger pie again that we had Monday and get it finished off.  We will still have the soup to finish off this week. Thursday I have ministerial alliance so that day Bob will be on his own for lunch. I sent the soup home with him for Thursday. Wednesday afternoon I will have bunco at the senior center.

I have Friday free so maybe I can vacuum that day and do my laundry.

More later...

I had a nice nap and watched the last half of "A Few Good Men" on TV. Then Bob came over and we watched the weather on TV. We wanted to watch the news but the weather for Tulsa... 72 miles south of us was all we could get.  It's so disgusting not to be able to get any Kansas stations on TV.

Anyhow, when Bob left I took my bath and watched TV for awhile with Missy. I also put my laundry in the dryer. I forgot about doing the laundry this afternoon.

I will try to stay up until 9:00 or so.

Monday and Exercises

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up several times but finally just took an allergy pill and a Melatonin tablet  Then I slept well.

I heard from Bob this morning. He is feeling better and will go to exercise class. He was getting ready to take a shower when he texted me.

I have fed Missy, and myself dressed and made my bed. I am ready for the day. I have set out some ground beef. He will have hamburger pie for lunch with the rest of Bob's jello salad from last Thursday. I had notification about Ministerial Alliance this morning and let Chuck know I would be there on Thursday. Bob will be on his own for the Thursday lunch.

I will be going to Independence tomorrow to take the cakes up to the Christian Church there. Then I will get my hair done and afterward take Juanita to the doctor.  Bob may go but he may take his own car so he can go see Betty, his sister since I don't know how long it will take Juanita to get to see the nurse that takes her blood.  It's a first come, first serve, appointment so we may be awhile. The last time I took her it took an hour or so to get in to get that blood work done. I will text Bob and see if he wants to meet me for lunch if he decides to go.

More later.... I need to get ready for exercise class and text Bob to see if he wants me to pick him up.
I did pick Bob up for the class. Afterward he came by and I wrote out his checks for his rent and TV. He then came back later for lunch. While my cakes were baking I mixed up the hamburger pie. It baked while I cooled the cake. Then we ate lunch. We had Bob's jello salad too. The hamburger pie was good.  After lunch I took some of it over to Marilyn.

I went to the bank to pay my own rent after I had a nap. I don't get my social security until the 12th this month so this month will be close again.  I hate getting my social security the second Wednesday of the month when everything comes due in the first week....especially my rent which is due by the 5th.

Nothing can be done about it though. I understand some of the younger recipients get theirs the third Wednesday.  That would be a real bummer.

More later...

I just had a call from Cox Cable and they wanted to sell me a land line telephone.  I told them I had given up the land line when I moved into this apartment and no longer needed the duplication since my daughter pays for my cell phone. I also told the woman that called me that they had priced themselves right out of the market with me.

She suggested I go back to the $10.00 starter package. With tax she said that would be about $12.00 for about 30 channels. That would suit me fine, I told her. So she gave me a number to call to make that change. I called the number and was on the line for 22 minutes before someone finally answered.

I told the woman that answered that I wanted to go back to the $10.00 starter package.  She told me there was no longer a $10.00 starter package. It is now higher. She also told me the $29.95 internet line I have is now $34.95 and to change to the next lower package would still be a total of $71.63.

That's only $17.80 less then I am now paying. What a racket! The TV is disgusting anymore. It's all about sex and violence. I am not interested in sex or violence at my age....in fact..I never was. She also told me if I did go back to a smaller package, I would have to change boxes. There is no local Cox Communications office here anymore and to return the box I now have, I would have to drive to Pittsburg, Kansas.  For a savings of $17.80, it's just not worth it. It really is a racket. Everything anymore is all about money.  Nothing is about good service. Capitalism is greed driven.

So much for my rant of the day!

Bob came and used his computer to pay some bills. Then he stayed for the news. He left at 7:00 and I took my bath and got ready for bed.  I went to bed about 9:30. It was another tiring day. Tomorrow will be even busier.

Sunday and Church School and Church

This morning I will go to church. I slept well again last night. I got up about 5:00 AM which is my usual time.  I have dressed, eaten and fed Missy.  I have even read the paper and done the crossword puzzle.  There's not much in the paper. Mostly it is news we have already read online or seen on the TV. There's not much local news. I don't think the locals try very hard to find local news.

I have planned to go over to "Just Us" for lunch. Bob and Phyllis will go too and maybe Karan and her kids. They are there with her for the weekend.

More later....

Well, Ronnie was called back to Oklahoma City to work so only Sheri and Karan came to church. Sheri came in Karan's car so they could not go to "Just Us" to lunch. When they do that, Sheri drives her own vehicle so she can drive back to Kansas City after lunch.

The service was fine. Though I couldn't hear very well. The PA system was down. I guess Leslie is going to call in a tech to find out what is wrong.   I hope they get it fixed before Sunday.

Sue and John went to "Just Us" with us so we were not alone. This Sunday Phyllis had other plans for lunch.

When I got home, I did the newsletters and got them ready for the mail tomorrow.  Then I encountered a computer problem of my own. I worked it over for a half hour or so and got it back in order. My Avast wanted to get rid of my Mozilla Firefox and I prefer that browser to any of the others. They gave me a default of Yahoo and I do not care for Yahoo for a browser.  I finally got my Firefox back and my own Cox home page back again. Disgusting!

In about an hour I will go pick up Gary for the Living that Questions group meeting at Karan's tonight.  Gary doesn't have a car.

I took the new neighbor and her little boy some cookies this afternoon. Then I baked some more for us. She seems quite nice. The little boy is cute too and well mannered.

More later...

Later in the day, I picked up Gary for the Living the Questions  group meeting. Bob did not go. He wasn't feeling well. There weren't a lot there. Only Karan, who was the hostess, Mona and Richard, Gary, Howard and Judy and myself attended. Joyce wasn't there and neither was Marilyn. Marilyn had spent ten days in Oregon with her daughter and just got in on Saturday. I don't know why Joyce didn't make it.  I had e-mailed everyone.

We decided our next DVD study would be "Jesus and the Kingdom of God".  There are 12 lessons on that DVD so that should take care of us for awhile.

I took Gary back home sometime after 9:00. He seemed to have a good time.  After I got home, I took my bath and spent some time with Missy. I went to bed about 10:00.

I have the next group meeting in three weeks. Two weeks would be Easter and that would not work.
