Friday and to Try to Finish Newsletter Mailings

I'm not going to exercise class today. I am going to work on getting that newsletter out so I can be finished with it until next year.

I slept well last night. That's a change. I usually have a hard time staying asleep.

Missy is patiently waiting for her breakfast so I will get back to this later. I want mine too.

More later...

Well, we've had our breakfasts and I forgot to buy milk yesterday so I had to use half and half on my cereal.  I forgot to take my blood pressure med yesterday. I did take it this morning.

Tulsa got some snow last night but I don't see any here in Coffeyville. Yesterday we had a sprinkling. It is 12 degrees here this morning and it's not going to get much warmer today.

Missy is not eating much. She didn't eat much yesterday either. That worries me a bit. I poured her some half and half thinking that would interest her. It didn't. She barely tasted it.  Maybe she will graze on it today.

I am wondering if my ink cartridges are running out. I printed off 18 envelopes yesterday and 18 eight page newsletters. I tried to print off a photo earlier this morning and it was partly faded. If so, I will need to run out to our Walmart and buy more. I will start on the newsletter printing again shortly.

First I will print the addresses on the envelopes.

More later...

I think I am overheating my printer. It suddenly stopped working again after I printed off a dozen newsletters at 8 pages each (four sheets of paper but printed on both sides). So far I have gone through three sets of ink cartridges.  This project is getting very pricey at $41.00 a set of cartridges.

I got hold of Keith this afternoon and he helped me by downloading a new driver and got the printer going again.

Bob came over this evening and stayed until 7:00.  Then I took my bath and decided to try to finish this project. I still have 13 to go. It will have to wait until morning now. I hope when the printer cools down I can print again. I may have to call on him again tomorrow if it won't work again when it cools down.

Wonderful, it cooled down and began working again.! I will try to finish tomorrow.

In the meanwhile, I will try to go on to bed and get some sleep.

A Very Busy Thursday

I was right about Wednesday. It was a huge day. I got up at 3:30 and got myself dressed and ready for my trip. Scott and Ginger got up about 4:00. Ginger wanted to say goodbye before we left for Jacksonville airport. Scott dropped me off at the American Airlines.  My first problem occurred at the luggage check in there. I wanted to check all three bags. But then I learned that would cost me $200.  That was impossible for me. The nice clerk there suggested I put the computer bag into the large suitcase. He asked my permission to open the bag and I said that was fine. He managed to put the computer bag in the large suitcase. Then I carried the carry-on. That left just one bag to check. That was $25.00. I was a bit rushed getting through security but this time that went smoothly. When I got to my gate we were told the previous group had had an accident and they had a mess to clean up before they could load us. So that threw us at least 30 minutes behind right away. Then the previous group deplaned very slowly and that threw us even later.  I and everyone else finally got onto the plane.

But that made us late getting into Dallas.  I was supposed to get into Tulsa at 10:00 but it was actually almost noon. I was able to text Leslie though so she went shopping in the extra time. She met me at the airport in Tulsa and insisted on carrying my luggage. At first I thought they had lost it but they informed us that it had arrived earlier that morning and brought it out from a storage area,   Then Leslie suggested we eat at Olive Garden...which we did. I love Olive Garden. We had their soup and salad. The soup was my favorite....Zuppa Toscana.  And she bought my lunch. That was sweet of her. Anyhow, then afterward we left for Coffeyville to take me home.

When I got home, Bob was here. Missy was glad to see me. He stayed quite awhile and when he left I started taking down my Christmas decorations and unpacking. I did two loads of laundry and took a bath.  Then Missy and I went to bed. I was exhausted!

This morning after I awoke, I finished taking down my Christmas decorations. I had suggested that Bob go with me to my 7:40 hair appointment at Kathy's salon. Then he could go see his sister, Betty, and we could have breakfast at Eggberts in Independence after Kathy finished coloring and cutting and fixing my hair. I wanted to buy his breakfast for taking care of Missy while I was gone. Betty wasn't up yet so Bob just went to get a cup of coffee.

After we had breakfast, I wanted to go to Walmart there and buy the envelopes and paper and print cartridges for the newsletters that I have to send out by snail mail this week. I also had a few other things on my list. I wanted to go to the Merle Norman  store and buy my makeup base and mascara. I also wanted to attend my Ministerial Alliance meeting in Coffeyville at noon.

I got all that done in the morning. This afternoon I printed off a third of the envelopes and newsletters and will get those in the mail in the morning. Then I will print off another 18 after I get back from the post office. I did not want to burn up my printer by trying to print them all at once.

The hospital called this afternoon with an appointment for me on January 11th for a pre-opt appointment. I was to bring my insurance cards and a list of my meds. It would take about an hour at the hospital. I called the doctor to see if they could do the other related surgery Ginger and I discussed at the same time. He called me back to say he had scheduled it for the same time that day too.

Bob is going to fix vegetable soup for our lunch tomorrow. I brought home bread sticks from Olive Garden and I will heat those up in the oven to warm them to eat with our soup. Then in the afternoon tomorrow I will try to get the last third of the newsletters and envelopes printed off and  ready to go and try to get them to the post office before it closes.

That big job will be finished for the year.

Now it's 8:30 and I will go to bed. I am really tired.

Tuesday and The Last Day Here

I slept well until 4:00AM this morning when I heard thunder and it began raining hard. I got up to see if the table and chairs on the patio were covered. Evidently Scott was awakened by the rain too and got up and covered them.  But that was the last of my sleep.

Finally I just got up and dressed about 4:45. I came in the kitchen and made myself breakfast (a bowl of Granola and a cup of coffee). Today I will take it easy and just read. Scott went back to work this morning. Most of his cold is over as is most of mine. It was an ungodly cold...the worst I've ever had. ..and the most different.  Not much mucus just lots of coughing. It settled in our chests. But it absolutely drained both of us. I fed it for myself and also Scott.  We had plenty of rest and I guess between the two of those things, it must have finally pretty much whipped the cold.

Sometime this afternoon I will fix another casserole dish with potatoes and the rest of the ham.  We will have it for dinner and then Scott can take the leftovers to work with him Wednesday for his lunch.

I am out of makeup. I have a tiny bit left for my trip back home tomorrow.  Then in the afternoon I will need to go to Independence and buy my makeup base and also mascara. I also want to get ink cartridges for my printer and envelopes to print addresses. It will be a huge job printing off all those newsletters on Friday.  Wednesday noon I will try to get lunch cooked for myself and Bob A. In the afternoon, I will clean the apartment.

Thursday I have an early morning hair appointment in Independence. When I get home I will go to the Ministerial Alliance meeting  first and spend the afternoon working on the envelope printing. I hope to get the newsletters printed off on Friday and in the mail. We will see how it goes.

As soon as I can find a box to fit it, I want to send Scott's Dell computer to Keith.  He will re-format it and install Windows 10 on it. I hope he can also find a battery for it. The battery is completely depleted. Hopefully he will also see if he can get Bob's e-mail configured too.  Then he will send it back to me.  I will give it to Bob for a better computer.  His little notebook is just too temperamental.

More later....

I have read all morning and it has rained most of the morning  too. Later this afternoon I will fix my potato/ham casserole.   We will have that for dinner along with some lettuce salad.  Then Scott can take whatever is left for his lunch tomorrow.

I have everything packed except the computer and my make-up kit. Ginger will send my  Christmas gifts later in the mail.  I can't take them on the plane.  I am going to check both my carry-on and the large suitcase. I simply cannot carry them with the two computers in the computer bag too.

It finally took a hiatus from raining and I let Chloe out to go to the bathroom and Eddy back in. He was wet.  I hope he is alright. He must have run through the rain to get back in the house.

I fixed myself a peanut butter on toast sandwich for lunch. I drank a little bit more of the Coke too.  I will need to cut up the ham smaller for the casserole and peel three or four potatoes for it too. I will also chop some onion and put some milk in the cream of mushroom soup.

More even later....

We had our good supper and then watched an old movie and after that we all went to bed. Wednesday was going to be a big day.

Monday and A Trip to Jacksonville

I slept fitfully last night. My right shoulder hurt again. I slept mostly on my left side and after I'd been up awhile it got better. It's a repetitive movement problem. I spent all afternoon making up that list on this computer.

I had my cereal and coffee and felt better.  Scott got up and he was all stopped up again too. It's a morning thing with a cold. I fixed him eggs and ham and toast for breakfast and he began to feel better.  He fixed himself some tea and honey and I fixed myself a cup too. The more liquids you drink when you are fighting a cold, the better. It thins out the mucus. I still believe in "feed a cold and starve a fever".

We will go into town later, Scott wants to visit a nice furniture store. He and Ginger want  to buy a sofa table and a lamp for it. She is working again this morning so he will take photos of the ones he likes.  Then she can decide what she wants to buy.

I have decided that when I leave here on Wednesday morning, I will check the large bag and also the carry on. I am bringing home Scott's old Dell computer and will send it to Keith to be reformatted and have Windows 10 installed on it. It has Windows 7 on it now. But it doesn't seem to have the Microsoft platform with Word on it. I want to download the free version of Glary Utilities for it.  It needs a new battery. The one in it is completely discharged.

I will give it to Bob A. His little notebook seems to have lots of problems. He is not too computer savvy so a regular Dell laptop will probably be better for him.  That computer bag is all I want to carry on the plane. I can stick it under the seat. Checking both bags will cost me $50. but I simply cannot carry that carry on as well as the computer bag with two computers in it .  It was all I could do when I came up here. My right arm is bothering me again now too. On the way up in Charlotte, they told me they would check the carry on complimentary and I took them up on it. I put the computer bag under the seat in front of me with my purse.

This trip my plane takes off at 6:05 on Wednesday so Scott will have to take me down to Jacksonville at 4:30 to be sure I can get through security in time for the plane. My flight there is number 346.  This time I go to Dallas and get in there at 7:54 and have a 51 minute layover in Dallas and then leave on flight 2197 at 8:45 and on to Tulsa and land there at 9:48.  All this is on American Airlines and Leslie will pick me up there at the airport.

More later..

We went to Jacksonville this morning and went to the Furniture Mart to look for a sofa table. We have some print outs of the one that would match their coffee table.  We also got a print out of the end tables.  After that, we walked around and looked at clothing and Scott bought some for himself and also some for Ginger. We ate at a nice Mexican Restaurant and brought some stuff back for Ginger.  She won't be back from work for a couple of hours.  I won't be eating again this evening. I am stuffed and it is almost 2:00.

I will look for a nice place to sit to read my Kindle.

More even later...

Scott drew a warm bath for Ginger and I fixed her a bowl of hot soup. We had planned to cook dinner but had no idea when she would be home since she had such a long day.  It was an horrendous day too. Lots of catastrophes.

We watched Secretariat on the movie channel on TV. I had seen it years ago but it was new to me this many years later.

I went to bed before 9:00. I was so tired from all that walking.

Sunday and Sleeping In

I slept really well last night and didn't wake up until 6:00 AM. I dressed and got ready for the day. I emptied the dishwasher in the kitchen. Now that we are running the water to get it hot before running the dishwasher, the dishes are coming cleaner. I have even had my granola and coffee. Now I am ready to face the day. :)

More later...

Ginger was on call and got called out to a hospital an hour away. She did not get back until later afternoon. There were several bad emergencies. One was a motorcycle accident that left the driver, who survived, a quadriplegic. That's a tragedy.

I spent the afternoon making a list of the names and addresses of the classmates I will send the class newsletter to by snail mail when I get home. Then part of the afternoon I read my new Kindle book aloud to Scott. He is like his dad. He likes to be read aloud to.

For dinner,I had some more of my pizza warmed in the microwave. Scott had some of his chicken and Ginger had soup.  The kids went out for dinner.

Then later in the evening their friends came over and we visited out on the porch in front.  We watched a football game with the Chiefs, who won, until bedtime. I took my bath and went to bed at 9:00.
