Saturday and Some Laundry

I slept well last night after I finally got to sleep. My sinus' drained for an hour and I finally got up and took an allergy pill. Then I went to sleep and slept hard.  I woke up at 6:00am and had slept later then usual.

Nancy wanted me to pick her up at 10:00AM  and take her to the bank. She wants to find out how much of her mother's money is still in her account. She doesn't trust Gina, Dale's wife, any more then she trusts David's wife. Dale and Gina pay her utilities and taxes out of that account. She doesn't get a bank statement. Dale is on that account and he gets the statement. She wants the bank to send her a duplicate statement so she will know if they have used her money for their own wants. Dale and Gina haven't been back to see her since she told them she would not agree to go into assisted living. They cancelled the visiting angels and her hair appointments too after that decision she made. I got her back on her hair appointments and will take her to them on Thursdays at 1:00PM each week.

What a mess!!

It's 7:45AM now and I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats.

So more later....

I called Nancy about 9:20AM to see if she was up and around and getting ready to go to the bank. She was still in bed and didn't feel good at all. I told her not to worry about it but to be sure she took her meds when she got up. She was going to do that immediately while it was on her mind. I told her if she got to feeling better and wanted to go to the bank later today, I was not doing anything special today and we could go anytime. She could just give me a call.

I called her later to see if she wanted to go to Eggbert's with me for lunch and Sandy was there visiting. So I let her go so she could visit with Sandy.

Then I went to Eggbert's for lunch.

Scott texted me that Ohio State was playing football on the Fox channel so I watched the game.Ohio State won 66 to 19.

I read for awhile and did some laundry after I got home.

I heard from Karan and she is going to speak at church on the 24th. Leslie wanted to know if  I would take the 17th. I told her I would. I still am not able to receive text messages from Leslie.

I watered my flowers and brought in the solar kitty just in case it rains. I also put some cat food our for Scruff. She came for supper.

I started working on one of the puzzles Carol sent me. She sent me two. I think they are going to be terribly difficult. They are 500 pieces each.

I went back to my book and at 7:00PM I took my bath. Then I read some more until 9:00PM when I put away my dry laundry and went on to bed.

Friday and Dusting

The only thing I have planned for today is to dust the apartment.  I will probably read too. I downloaded and started a new free book yesterday from Amazon.

I got up at my usual time this morning...5:00AM. I am well rested after yesterday's effort . I think I went to bed at 8:30PM.

I am eating my breakfast now and when I finish I will go turn on "the weather on the 8's " and check on the cats.

I didn't watch "Bull" last night so sometime today I will watch the recording.

I have finished my breakfast  and will go turn on the TV now.

It appears the rains will start Sunday evening and go through Tuesday next week according to the "weather on the 8's"..

Both cats came for breakfast and I put away the food in the garage and covered it when they finished.

I have been watching  the CBS news. It's over now. I also watched the recorded version of "Bull". It is the first session  of the 6th season.

Rudy Taylor came by and brought back the two books I loaned him. I was going to pick them up at their office but he thought he would just bring them by my apartment.

I got the dusting finished after the news. I am listening to Kenny Rogers music now on Alexa.  It is 9:30AM now.

I am going to make some broccoli cheddar soup. I will take some to Nancy too.

I took the soup over to her but came right back home. I wanted her to feel free to talk to David. She had called him at last. He is her only child..Even though he has tried to put her in a nursing home, he probably feels helpless living so far away in North Carolina. He has Parkinson's disease and might eventually be in a nursing home himself. She is 86 and if she falls and breaks something, she has no one left to notify. I really should have a key to her house since I am her only friend that visits her. I may suggest that I have one made since Dale, her cousin and his wife, are no longer speaking to her and they live over at Tyro. Dale and Gina have the only other key to her place.

It is 10:40AM now. So, more even later....

I went over to Coffeyville and had a key made for me to Nancy's front door so I can check on her in case she falls there in her house all by herself.. I can get in the house if she needs me. We are going to the bank tomorrow to see if her bank account is secure. Dale, her cousin, has his name on her checking account and Gina has way too much influence on him. She needs to get a duplicate bank statement in the mail each month. Dale and Gina, his wife, are mad at Nancy because she refuses to go into assisted living in Bartlesville. They haven't been to see her since she made that decision.

It's 4:58PM right now and I have been over there most of the afternoon. She is so unhappy with her family. She has a right to make that kind of decision for herself. It's a life changing decision.

I will read until time for my bath and then read until bedtime.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I went to bed pretty early last night so I was up early this morning. I got my sleep out. I was up shortly before 5:00AM, made my bed, dressed and am eating my breakfast now.

I will clean the apartment this morning while the commercials are on TV. At 1:00PM I plan to take Nancy to the beauty shop...if she remembers to get dressed. We also plan to go to lunch...if she remembers. Her memory is worse then mine.

I will turn on "the weather on the 8's" in a little while and see if anything has changed. The last time I saw the weather last night it looks like three days of rain next week. We can use it if it develops.

It looks like rain most of next week..maybe all of it.  Besides cleaning the apartment today, I would like to rake and bag the leaves in the front yard. Maybe I will just mow it. That would be easier. I'll make up my  mind later this morning. After I clean the apartment I may not have enough energy. We will see.

Both Scruff and Blondie came for breakfast this morning. I fed them and they got full and left so I took the cat food into the garage.

Now I am watching the weather. I should start my mopping while the commercials are on.

It's a little after 8:12AM and I have finished the cleaning ...except for the dusting, I will do that tomorrow. I want to rest up to mow the front yard later..after I rest a bit and drink some water.

My little mums are beginning to open!

May be an image of flower and outdoors

Aren't they pretty? Leslie gave them to me.

I went over to Nancy's about 9:30AM and visited with her for awhile. I was going to take her to her hair appointment  but Dale and Gina had cancelled it when she was going to be put in Assisted Living in Bartlesville but she refused to go and they are very angry with her for refusing. We left about 10:30 AM and went down to Bartlesville and drove around. It was a beautiful day and we stopped on our way back from Bartlesville at the Copan Truck Stop and had lunch. She bought lunch for us. We had a nice visit and I took her home around 1:00PM because I wanted to mow my front yard while it was nice. We had a very nice visit.

I will go mow and then read awhile on my latest book.

I mowed the front yard and got most of the leaves bagged up. I am going to have to get some more black bags before I do more. I also need long envelopes and wet swifters. I used the last of those today..both black bags and wet swifters.

I went to Dollar General and bought trash bags, black leaf bags and long envelopes. I used the last black yard bag today.

I got the front yard mowed this afternoon and it doesn't look too bad. It got a lot of the leaves picked up too. It's awfully bleached out.

May be an image of outdoors

I will read now! I am tired and thirsty.

Suzanne called me this evening to tell me they had sold the duplex. They sold it to that couple from Owasso who looked at it a couple of weeks ago and who saw it again this week. They bought it and are getting it financed. She works at South Coffeyville and he works in Coffeyville so they will be close by their jobs.

So, more even later... It is 6:44PM now. I want to stay up until 9:00PM to see the first new episode of "Bull" at 9:00PM if I can. I will record it just in case I am too tired to make it.

I will take my bath and put my PJs on soon. I may just have to go to bed earlier and watch the recording tomorrow..

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well last night and was only up once. My allergies were going crazy so I took an allergy pill and I am sure that also helped me sleep. I still have a little cough this morning though. Fall drives my allergies crazy every year.

I will leave for Coffeyville at 8:15AM to get my hair done but first I will stop at the bank there and get some cash. It is nearly 7:00AM now and I am still eating my breakfast oatmeal.

I will go watch the "weather on the 8's" now and catch some news too. I will check on the cats too and see if either of them have come for breakfast.

So more later...I forgot to plug in my Kindle last night so I will have to leave it here charging.  While I am over to Coffeyville I want to check to see if they have the Moderna booster shot approved and ready yet.

So, more later...

I left at 8:15AM as I had planned. I got over to Coffeyville in time to get gas and go to the bank. Then I got my hair colored and cut and went to the senior center to read. I did stop over to the Board of Health but they told me I had to have a serious health problem to get my booster shot now. I have no serious health problems so I will have to wait.

I got a cherry limeade slush and drank that. I had treats half way through the games and after they were over I won the $10.00 prize for the most buncos. Then I stopped by Marilyn's house and gave her the rest of my treats. She is still suffering with her back. Her sister will take her back to that hospital over by Joplin that specializes in pain management next week. I think it's Salina.

I got home about 4:30PM and texted Krystal that I was there if she wanted to come mow. She and John came. John trimmed the hedge while Krystal mowed. Afterward I helped her clean up the clippings and gave her Suzanne's check in an envelope. She didn't think my yard needed mowing this week. Brandon's was three weeks grown out and did need it. The sewer cap is gone and the sewer pipe is broken. The city will have to put a new one on it and perhaps replace the broken pipe too.

I want to go out to Sonic and get the kids wacky pack for something for supper. Today it's only $2.18. That's for two large chicken strip and tater tots and a small drink.

It's 6:45PM now and I will take my bath when I get back home and read until bedtime.

Tuesday and No Particular Plan

I slept well last night although I was up three times in the night get go to the bathroom.  I always got right back to sleep and woke up to get up about 6:00AM. I made my bed and dressed and am in the process of eating my breakfast now. When I finish my oatmeal I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and see if the forecast has changed. And then I will check on the cats.

I will need to go to the market this morning. I have quite a list.

So more later..

Both cats came for breakfast but Blondie finished quickly and went home. Scruff stayed a little longer but has stopped eating and is looking around now.  I still have not seen the "weather on the 8's". They do a lot of talking but not much local information.

I finally saw the weather and also the news. About 10:00AM I went by Nancy's just in time to see Dale pull into her driveway.so I just kept going. I figured he was still trying to get her to agree to go into Assisted Living in Bartlesville. I told her n the phone I would come back at 1:00PM...then I went on to Independence to get my car washed.

I had pulled the mower out to blow the dirt off of it and in so doing I got the dust all over my clean car.  I decided on Independence because I will be going to Coffeyville tomorrow and will need to stop at the bank before I get my hair done. Then after that. we have Bunco at the senior center. So I stopped at Dairy Queen and bought a blizzard.Another woman sat down with me and we visited, She was having a hamburger. Strangely, she was from Caney too. She was Caroline Nelson's mother. We visited a while and then I had to get back to Nancy's by 1:30PM.

I visited with Nancy until 3:30PM and then came on back home. I read until the CBS news came on and then watched that. The audiologist from Bartlesville finally called me back and gave me an appointment for November 4th at 1:45PM. She will check my hearing and also check my hearing aide.

I wrote that on my calendar.

After I got back home I went to the market and bought some groceries including the treat for Bunco tomorrow.

Krystal will be mowing the yard next door using my mower and  I will need to be back here by 4:30PM to pay her. Suzanne left me her check. I will leave at 8:15AM to go to Coffeyville tomorrow for my hair appointment and after that I want to check at the Montgomery County Health Department to see if they have the Maderna booster yet. I would like to get it if they have it there.

I will get something to eat and then go on to Bunco. I will need to get back at 4:30PM to meet Krystal to pay her. I have Suzanne's check. I will leave the mower on my sidewalk  since she will need to use it.

It's 8:30PM now and I am very tired. I may go on to bed early. And  anyhow I need to charge my Kindle again.

Monday and a Rest Day

I had a busy weekend but I slept very well and was up at 6:00AM instead of 5:00AM, my usual time to get up. So it's 7:00AM now and I am just now eating my breakfast. I enjoyed my visit with Gay last weekend. We had a lot to visit about.

I think I will just do nothing today. I do need to make an appointment with the audiologist down at Bartlesville to see what is wrong with my hearing.  My hearing aid must be broken or the batteries must have expired because it is not working. I may have wax down in my ear that would need to be flushed out. I also need to call Jim and Messinger's furniture. Dale Cotton, who was on Thursday's tour, said Jim works on antique clocks and I would like to get mine working again. So may not be a wasted day after all.

So more later...

Jim is no longer working on clocks. His eyesight is failing plus has bought the Messenger's furniture store and really doesn't have the time to do it anymore. He did give me a tip about a jewelry store in Bartlesville that might work on clocks. I think I will go down there and check that out today. The fellow at the jewelry store in Bartlesville that worked on clocks, has retired. I was given the name and number  of Andy Woodside from Dewey that does. I called him

So more later... Travis Grether does work on antique clocks but he is in Tulsa. and according to Andy Woodside, from Dewey, he is expensive. Andy doesn't work on chiming antique clocks but he got his training from Travis. Travis' telephone number is 918 742 1400.

Before I see an audiologist I will buy some new batteries for my hearing aid and try that. It may be these batteries I have are too old. I will try Dollar General before I go out of town. I will be going to Coffeyville on Wednesday and if Dollar General doesn't have hearing aid batteries, Walmart does. Then I will get some on Wednesday.

More later...

I bought some new batteries but the hearing aid still isn't working. I may have to see the audiologist after all. I'll see if I can find a number for her. I googled it and found the number. I called but they insist my doctor has to fax my health  information to them before I can have an appointment and then they will make the appointment. I wonder how long before I can get in.I may just go to Midwest in Independence and have then check my hearing and the hearing aide.

Blondie came for supper but he was the only one who did. Of course Scruff was the only one who came for breakfast.

I got some tulip bulbs for the back flower bed. They were freebees. I planted as many as I could but I still have a dozen I don't know what to do with.

Suzanne is going to have Krystal or one of her daughters mow the yard that Brandon left a mess. She has cleaned over there for two days. He left all his utilities unpaid too. He left a $600. electric bill. Lord only knows how big the gas, water and trash will be. He didn't leave a forwarding address so unfortunately the gas company, the electric company and the city all will have to eat it.  What a bum!! I knew he was like that when he had a dog over there when we have a contract forbidding any animals in the house. The dog scratched on the bathroom door and on the trim around the door and made deep scratches in that bathroom door. And he only mowed every three weeks and our contract says we must mow weekly.

I watched the CBS news this evening. Then I swept off the porch area.

It's 6:35PM now. In a little bit, I will take my bath and then read until bedtime.

Sunday and Church

I slept well last night on the daybed even though I was up twice getting rid of all the water I drank at the reunion last night. I dressed and got ready for church and Gay decided to come to church with me and eat at "Just Us" afterward. I was disappointed in the attendance but I guess that's to be expected after almost two years of being shut down except for the three weeks we were open earlier this year before the surge of cases that followed at that time.

But Leslie's remarks were very appropriate to the theme. Everyone also enjoyed seeing those that came again. Chris Green was there and brought his Boxer dog, Beurford. That dog is  so neat. And he really loves Chris. Chris also mentioned during the announcement period that when he started coming to our church, he began to read the Bible for the first time and in three weeks he will be able to finish it.

After church, three of us went over to "Just Us" to have dinner. We had a fine meal and I had pie with ice cream on it for dessert. Gay went on home from there and Becky and I went on to Coffeyville. She had square dance class at the senior center and I had to get some money from the bank's machine and buy gas. While at the bank, I caught my right thumb in the car door. It's pretty sore. Then I came on back to Caney. I thought I left my church key at church after I opened the door. I couldn't find it in my purse or the car.

When I got home I found Suzanne still working  on cleaning  the apartment next door. The dog Brandon kept there had scratched the bathroom door badly and chewed on the door casing trying to get out of the bathroom. He was evidently kept in the bathroom at night. She used Old English furniture polish to try to put some color back in those areas. It's tragic when you sign an contract for the rules and then violate it recklessly.

It's 4:53PM now. I am pretty tired. It has been a big weekend. I won't want any supper..that's for sure.

Rick and Carmen didn't come to church after all. Carmen had to open the restaurant since Salvador was out of town. I missed seeing them.

I watered the flower bed in the front yard. Now I had better water the hanging plant in front.

Then I will read!

So more later...

I found my church key! When I took off my jeans and shook them before hanging them back up, the key fell out of one of the pockets. I put it in my purse.

I have had my bath.  I missed the church at Springfield's worship service. The time got away from me. It's 6:44PM now.

I plan to go to bed early at 9:00PM if my thumb lets me sleep. I may take some Aleve before I go to bed.
