Saturday and Relaxing

I didn't sleep very well last night. I was awake off and on after 2:00 AM. Finally I got up at 5:30.  I took Melatonin but last night it didn't help.

I dressed and fed myself and Missy.  I have watched part of the the CBS news too.

I have watered all the flowers and the appear to be doing well. Missy went out with me but while I was watering, she wandered off. When I went to get her, she cae back home hissing at spitting at me all the while. She is ion now.for not minding me. Cats are very hard to train. :)

I have nothing on the menu for today. Yesterday was huge but lots of fun. Nancy and I had a very good visit. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease five years ago but I think that was an error. She is as lucid as I am and after all this time, she would be showing more symptoms.  I watched my sister go through Alzheimer's Disease until she died of it and Nancy doesn't seem to have much memory problems. Her son, David, who is my Leslie's age, 61, has Parkinson's Disease. She seems to be in pretty good health for 84. She has a large beautiful two story home and she does all her own housework and yard work and keeps both spotless.

More later...

I went out to South Coffeyville to buy gas. It's $2.54 a gallon there and here in town it's $2.59. Then I stopped by the nail place and had a pedicure. After that I came on back home and ate the rest of my tomato basil soup for lunch with cheese and crackers.

Now I am listening to music and working on this blog. I am returning the dash mounts I bought from Amazon for my phone in the car. They were way too large. I will need to go to the UPS store on Monday to leave then to be sent back. I just re-used the one my daughter gave me. It fell off and on to the floor of the car the first hot day. I tried sticking it back on but the adhesive would not stay so I used gorilla glue and it won't come off now.

More later...

I went out to church this afternoon to change out a burned out light bulb but I couldn't reach the light receptacle, I texted Leslie an she said John would do it.  While there, I ran off the Church School material for the class.

Now the mail is here and I have the Journal to read so more later...

I finished reading the newspaper and took it over to Marilyn's.  I have read again this afternoon. I also watched "Nature" on Amazon Prime.Missy came in and watched it too. "Nature" is Missy's favorite program. At 6:30 I gave Missy her treats. I ate the rest of my trail mix.

In about thirty minutes I will take my bath and get ready for bed. Then I will look for something to watch on Amazon Prime.

So more even later...

Missy and I watched "Oklahoma" on Amazon this evening. It was a little too much music for me but t had been decades since I had seen it and I thought I would watch it again. It was very long and we got to bed late.

Friday and Exercises Again

I slept very well last night. I did take a Melatonin tablet when I woke up at 2:00 and went to the bathroom and took my meds.I may set one out each evening and take it with my thyroid pill in the middle of the night.

I will go to exercise class this morning . That's all I have planned. I may go out of town just for something different to do. I read most of yesterday after I got my housework done.

So more later....

What do you know! There is beautiful red cardinal on my bird feeder.  Isn't he beautiful? I am watching the channel 6 news right now but I will post a photo.. Usually, I just see common sparrows.Image result for photo of red cardinal bird
I called Nancy this morning and asked her to go to Bartlesville with me and also eat lunch at McCalister's.  She was delighted and so I drove right over. We went to Bartlesville and after lunch we looked over the mall. Nancy needs to get a new dress for a dinner where she will be honored as one of the founders of the Caney Historical Society. She spotted a couple of possibilities but didn't want to try on clothing today. She will make a trip down there later by herself.

We soon went up to her house and visited until almost 6:00. Then I came home and gave Missy her treats and cleaned out her litter box.

This evening I will look for something to watch on Amazon Prime.

More later....

At 7:00 I took my bath and Missy and I watched an episode of  "Nature" on Amazon Prime.  Missy loves "Nature". I fell asleep and missed most of it.  When I awoke at 9:30, Missy and I went on to bed.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning Day

I didn't sleep well last night. I awoke at 2:00 and went to the bathroom and took my med but after I got back to bed, I could not get back to sleep. Finally, an hour later, at 3:00, I got up again and took a melatonin tablet. Then I slept another hour but finally just gave up at 4:30 and just got up.

I dressed, fed Missy and myself and watched the news.

Sure enough, she had peed on the last bathmat so I washed all that I had and have that load now in the dryer. It takes an hour to dry a load of wash in this dryer. Both the washer and dryer are antiques. The washer barely agitates.

It's only 6:05 right now. I will not start the cleaning for awhile. More later...

I started cleaning after the news was off and started cleaning the kitchen and bathroom at 9:00 and then vacuumed the rest of the apartment. Then I went to Walmart and bought the necessities I needed and also stopped at the bank and got some more cash.

When I got home and put away my groceries, I began reading the book I borrowed. I read until lunchtime and then stopped to eat lunch.. I took some soup to Marilyn too. After lunch, I went back to the book. I needed a rest since I worked so hard this morning. :)

Tomorrow I have exercise class again.

I have read most of the afternoon. I went out for awhile to wait for my newspaper at 4:00 and while I was out there, Missy climbed up in my chair.  I dumped her out. (she wouldn't get down when I told her to) and she has her feelings hurt now.

I had to get her to eat her treats when the time for them came. Usually she is eager for them.

The news is on now so I will watch it.

More later...

I may watch "The King and I" this evening on Amazon Prime.

Missy and I did watch "The King and I" on Amazon Prime and didn't go to bed until 9:30.

Wednesday and Exercises and Bingo

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up around three but got back to sleep pretty well and didn't get up until almost 5:00. I made up the bed and got myself ready for the day. Then I fed myself and Missy.

I will go to exercise class this morning and eat some lunch after that and then in the afternoon I will go back up to play Bingo.

Tomorrow is my regular cleaning day. I will also probably by then have some laundry to do too. We may have rain this evening. That would be good for my flowers. I have watered them each day since they were planted. I am trying to give them the best chance possible. I have about $80 involved in them at this point and I haven't mulched them yet.

I did get my social security last night. That always gives me a relief.

More later....

I stopped at The Kansas Buffet for lunch today. I hadn't been there for a long time and really wanted a nice lunch. I was going to have my tomato basel soup but forgot to put it down in the frig to thaw.  So I just went to town and went to the buffet. I will have it tomorrow with cheese and crackers.

Tomorrow is also my cleaning day and perhaps even laundry day. Missy peed on another bathmat this morning. I have three in the washer now. I have the last one under her litter box now.

After I left the buffet, I went up to the bookstore where Karan volunteers and visited with her awhile and then we went to Bingo at the senior center. I won some store bought cookies and gave them to David. I baked my own yesterday here.

When I got home I let Missy out for awhile. The shade was on the east side at that time so I moved a chair over there. It finally got hot and she was ready to come back in and eat a little and drink some water. Now she seems to be content to be in this nice cool apartment. It's a good thing I watered this morning. It has gone from winter to summer with no spring so far. It's 3:35 now. The newspaper will be here at 4:00PM  or so. I read the Journal. It comes in the mail on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There was very little in there. I only take it because it's all we have in our hometown.

More later...

I have read the Reporter and worked the crossword puzzle. I had some trail mix after I fed Missy her treats and then I took my bath and got ready for bed at 7:00. Missy and I watched another documentary on Amazon Prime and later at 9:00 we went on to bed.

Tuesday and Hair Cut Day

I slept fairly well last night. I did wake up at 3:00 to go to the bathroom and take my med. Missy had wet on the last of the bathmats Bob gave me. I put it in the washer and just left the litter box setting on the bare floor. When I got up this morning, she had wet all over the bathroom floor. So I mopped it. Then I put my own bathmat under the litter box. If she wets on that, I will have to wash the entire group.

I turned over in bed to feel if she was still on the bed and she scratched my right hand. I got up to put antibiotic ointment on it and a band aid.  That really upset me. It has been awhile since she has scratched me to draw blood and a long time since she has bit me. The last time she did that, I took a newspaper to her and scared her good.  She's old, I know, but she has begun to get pretty crotchety in her old age.

I will leave for Independence in a couple of hours. This is the day I get my hair cut and it really needs it.

I have texted Bob to see if he plans to go along and visit his sister, Betty.  He may be in the shower right now since I haven't heard from him yet.

He just texted me that he had sent me a message but I didn't get anything from him. I'll see if it ever comes. I will just call. The call went straight to voice mail after ringing twice.

He said he had tried to call me and got no answer and I had the same experience.  Strange...He is coming over shortly.

More later....

He came over for a visit and while he was here he used Marilyn's wasp spray and killed the wasps that were making a nest. After he left, I took the wasp spray back over to Marilyn's. Then I went on to Independence for my hair appointment. Then I went to their Walmart to buy a few things. It's not six and a half miles away like ours is.

When I got home, I called Gary and he wanted to give me back the DVDs. He had watched all he wanted to and seen some of them twice. I met him downstairs and he returned them. Then I took them over to Joanne's. They wanted to see some of them. He was there working on a Bar B Q cooker ....trying to put it together..

Then I came home and fixed my lunch and ate it. Then I watered the flowers I had planted.

More later...Missy wants to go back outside.

We went outside but the wind was up and Missy doesn't like the wind any more then I do. So we came back inside.

I see Alan's truck is leaking oil. I called Rick and told him it was making quite a puddle on the carport. They moved it but they may have taken it to Rick's work site where they have a mechanic on duty. I put some kitty litter on the oil to try to absorb it.

After we came back in Missy crawled up on my bed and took a nap. I baked some cookies and had a cup of milk with two of them.

It's 5:30 now and I am watching the news.

More even later...

At 7:00 Missy and I watched a TV documentary on the assassination of President Garfield. I hadn't realized what an inspiring person he had been. It was very interesting!

At 9:00, we went on to bed.

Monday and Exercises Again

I did not sleep too well last night. Missy was restless and kept me awake off and on. I finally just got up around 4:00 AM and got ready for the day and fed Missy and myself.

I will go to exercise class this morning but I am pretty tired and may not do them all. I really need to get the rest of the flowers in the ground or they certainly will have no chance of making it.  It has been harder this year then other years. I guess it is the mileage.  I may have to give up on that east flowerbed. There is just too much gravel in that bed. I will give it one last chance this year.

More later...

I have watered the flowers I planted yesterday and will probably plant the rest of them in the above ground box John built for me. It doesn't have gravel in it.

If I had known that gravel was under the dirt and grass, I would never have built that flower bed.  Now, I'm stuck with it.

I guess I could have put another 40 pound  bag of Miracle Grow in it before I planted the flowers but I am not supposed to lift anything heavier then 15 pounds and I pushed that one 40 pound bag out of my trunk and then shoved it around the corner and opened it with scissors and used a trowel to put the Miracle Grow in the flower bed. It took awhile that way and really exhausted me.  But it really needed another 40 pound bag of  Miracle Grow to cover that gravel so it wouldn't influence the growth of the flowers.

More even later...This where I planted the rest of my flowers. This flower box had the room and had no gravel in it.  I had a half dozen leftover and I took them to Evelyn. She has pots on her patio.

I even put a few in this end of that flower box.

So, more even later....

The man from the air conditioning company Betty uses came in the afternoon and cleaned up the air conditioner. It was filthy and full of leaves. It's a wonder it still runs at all. He also added some freon.
He also replaced a part in the blower area. It needs a trap to stop the noise it makes. I piled a pile of old towels over it to muffle the noise. Betty wants her maintenance man to make a trap for the drainage.

He left an hour or so after he came.

At 7:00, I took my bath and Missy and I watched a documentary on London. I fell asleep almost immediately and don't remember a  thing about it. We went to bed at 9:30.

Sunday and Church

I slept well last night and I am so glad. I knew I would either be too sore from all my activity yesterday and unable to sleep, or be so tired I would sleep like the dead. It was the latter. :)

I got up at nearly 5:00, my usual time to get up. I have fed and watered Missy and myself and after I finish this I will go bake my banana nut bread for church. This was Bob's turn but he is not going to church. He is going to attend Joanne's family reunion out at Cedar Bluff campgrounds.

I will pick up Phyllis for church and afterward we will eat lunch together, probably at "Just Us".

If I am up to it, after I finish the congregation's newsletters, I will get back out there and finish planting my flowers.

Now, I will get in there and get that banana nut bread in the oven.  So, more later...

O.K. the banana nut bread is in the oven now and has another twenty minutes to bake..at least.

I have read the paper and done the crossword puzzle.  I have taken the trash out and taken the paper to Marilyn and am feeling pretty well. If nothing changes, I will get the rest of the flowers planted this afternoon.

So, more even later..

Leslie did a nice job on the service and eleven of us ate together at the Railroad Inn in Independence.
Image may contain: 8 people, including Margie Miller, Leslie Brooks and Karan Lee Musick-Maritt, people smiling, people sitting and indoor
.Phyllis wouldn't turn around for the photo. :) She's camera shy.

 Dad, Leslei and Mom

This was my late husband, Bob, and daughter, Leslie, and me at Leslie's graduation from college. I believe that was 2007. It took her awhile to work it into her busy life but she graduated with honors.

I went out awhile ago and took Missy out too. I trimmed awhile on the rose bush and cleaned up dead branches on it while  Missy wandered about some...staying within sight though. It is too hot to try to plant the flowers. I will wait until late afternoon when the sun goes down on the east side of the apartment. Then maybe I can get some more of it finished.

So more a little later....

I planted a few more flowers later in the afternoon. The problem is the gravel in the east flower bed.  Before I can plant anything I have to take out several cups of gravel. This area used to be a parking lot before Wayne built the fourplex. I'm not even sure any of them will live once the roots reach further down and find gravel. We will just have to see.

Later this evening, I took my bath and Missy and I watched a documentary about the origin of Sherlock Holmes and the author Conan Doyle and another on the Mayflower settlement on the east coast.

Then at 10:30, we both went on to bed.
