Rummage Sale Saturday

Today is the senior center rummage sale. I have cleaned out my dining room storage room and put everything I haven't used in a year in this sale.  I sure don't need to store anything at this stage.

First we will go have breakfast at 7:00. The sale starts at 8:00 so we will have to move right along with breakfast.

I stayed up last night and watched "The African Queen". It was an old 1951 movie with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. I had seen it several times but it had been awhile.  Anyhow it was something to watch on Friday night.

We are still planning on going to Branson Thursday and Friday this week unless something changes with the job situation.  Bob has his family reunion on Saturday so I will stay home.

Friday Job Interview

This morning at 10:00 I have an appointment for a job interview at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Maybe I'll get to go back to work soon.  First I have to have a background check and drug test and that's only if Ms. Cahill decides to let me work there.

This afternoon I'll load the extraneous stuff from my storage into my car and take it up to the senior center. I'm sharing a rummage sale table with Bob to get rid of some stuff I'll never use again.

Tomorrow morning Bob and I will have breakfast at Eggberts and then go man our table for the rummage sale.  I hope I don't have to bring any of that stuff back home. I have a clothing steamer, a steam mop, an air compressor, a fan and a power washer among other small stuff.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I went to bed at 9:00 last night and that's just too early to sleep well.

More later...

I don’t know too much more than I did before my appointment. I saw on the hospital’s facebook page that they cancelled the “Meet and Greet” they had planned for yesterday to introduce their new CEO, Kathleen Cahill, to the public. So I went over at 9:30 just to be sure my appointment was still on.

Sure enough, she was not in. I did talk to and finally met Doug Rideout but he is only a consultant with the hospital. He was very enthusiastic about  the program and my being at the hospital to do scanning and such but said he would talk to Aime and decide what to do next.  I did not have a drug test or a background check.  I told him I could start whenever they were ready but still I was not sent to HR or anyone else….certainly not CEO Kathleen Cahill.  He said his next step would be to talk to Aime. So I am back to square one.

I  went to the senior center  and unloaded everything I want to sell and get rid of. I need the space more then I need the merchandise. This apartment is only five rooms.

Later, at 4:00, I will try to meet the manager of the Mill Supply Apartments and look them over. ...not for myself as much as for Bob. He is not making it since they raised our rent. He drove by the city of Caney apartments this morning just to see if they still look pretty nice.  He really doesn't think he wants to move to Caney. He wouldn't know anyone there anymore. But he needs to find something that is based on his income.

A Job Interview Tomorrow

Aime called yesterday afternoon to say I had a 10:00 job interview on Friday at the hospital.  I will figure out what to wear today.  I interview with the new CEO at the hospital. She has only been on the job a couple of days. Aime seems to think she will like me and let me work there. Even if she does want me, I have to be drug tested and have a background check first.

I have browned some ribs for dinner today and made my own barbeque sauce.  I am doing them in the slow cooker. We will have boiled potatoes with them and veggies and a salad. I will fix some fruit for dessert and I made cookies yesterday so we will have a couple of them too.

It is stormy today. I heard it thundering and raining earlier this morning. Missy wants to go out but if we went out she would want right back in. The noise really frightens her.  It hailed yesterday afternoon for awhile and she went and hid somewhere in the apartment. The hail was only about marble sized.

More later....

Our dinner was very good. But it has rained very hard off and on all day. I made a coffee cake this morning. I will have some of it with my coffee in the morning.

A Rainy Wednesday?

It's supposed to rain today. I need to go to the market or over to Braum's to get yogurt and milk before it begins. That's about all I need now. I was able to get my makeup yesterday at Independence so I won't have to make an unnecessary trip to Bartlesville now.

We will have our leftover hamburger pie  and salad for lunch today. I will serve some fruit for dessert. If I get the cookies baked this morning we will also have some snicker-doodles with the fruit.

I took my planter to the florist yesterday to have a fall arrangement made up for my coffee table. After I found the fall decorations day before yesterday and decorated the apartment, I realized I needed something fresh for the coffee table.

Bob and I will share a table at the senior center on Saturday to sell some stuff we will never use again.  I am putting my power washer in there as well as my clothes steamer and my air compressor. They are just taking up room in my storage.  I will never use them again.

More later....

We went to exercise class and the had our warmed up lunch.  Before lunch I baked my cookies. After that, I went to Karan's and picked her up for the game time at the senior center.  We had a real hard storm awhile ago and marble sized hail.  Luckily I had just got home and had the car under the carport.  We are under storm watch until 10:00 tonight. Missy was terrified when the hail started and hid.

When the rains stopped, Bob came over and watched the news and one old episode of the Big Bang Theory.  When he went home, I took my bath and put my pjs on to watch an old movie "The Bucket List".

I  went to bed when that was over.

Tuesday and Cakes

This morning I will go back to Independence to deliver the cakes. While there, I will buy some makeup..if the store is open and if they have my color. Otherwise I will have to go back to Bartlesville to get it. I am about out of everything in the line. I stopped by the Bartlesville store when I was there Saturday but they were not open yet.

I need to do some cleaning today too. I am currently doing some laundry and I had to clean some spots on the dining room carpet this morning too.  I would love to have laminate on that floor but the new landlord will certainly not do it and I should not make such an investment in rental property. I may have to move some day if the rent continues to go up. If and when that happens, I will take my glass topped stove, wall mounted hair dryer, bathroom storage cabinet,  double door frig and over the range microwave.  If Wayne had continued to own these apartments, I would have left them all but now, if I don't need them, I will sell them before I would leave them for this landlord.

More later....

Well, I cleaned the apartment...all but dusting... and I'll do that tomorrow.Bob wants to go up to Independence later and eat at Big Cheese.  I'm game for that. We will have our leftover hamburger pie tomorrow.

I'd better load the cakes.....more later....

After we got home from Independence, I took a nap. I had intended to bake cookies but I'll have to do that tomorrow after exercise class.

Bob came over to watch the news and then went home to read. I read too until bedtime. TV is horrible anymore.

Monday and Exercise Class

This morning I will attend the exercise class.  That's about all I have planned unless Kathy can get me in to do my hair. I would rather go up tomorrow when I take the cakes up to the Christian Church and that would save me an extra trip to Independence.  But...whatever...

We had a good time last night at Living the Questions. Mona had some shish ka bobs, salad and cake. It was in celebration of Richard's 57th birthday. I took green bean casserole and Karan took garlic bread. Bob took a relish dish. We will have the next meeting here in two weeks. Mona and Richard have a couple of exchange students from one of the "astan" countries.  I ca n't remember which.

I slept all though the night last night. It's been awhile since I've done that.

We will have hamburger pie for lunch. It had green beans in it and is a one dish meal. Bob will bring a salad.

More later...

I spent the afternoon going through my storage. I talked Bob into cleaning out for a rummage sale table at the senior center Saturday. We have shared the cost. I have cleaned out my storage so he won't even know it. I found my fall decorations and have put them out too. I need something new for fall for my coffee table. I'll think of something.

Also I got my cake baked for the Christian Church tomorrow. I still have to ice it but I can do that in the morning or later tonight. Phyllis and Karan's Bobby brought me theirs. Isent him home with some hamburger pie. I have really been busy!

This evening we will have some wine and cookies, watch the new episodes of the Big Bang Theory and then call it an evening.

Sunday Again

It's another Sunday and I will have church school and church this morning. Then we will eat together somewhere afterward. I am anxious to talk to my daughter. She had a stress test on Friday and try as I may, she has not answered my questions.  I e-mailed her, texted her and finally I called her but she didn't pick up. She simply let her phone go straight to voice mail. She did text me that she was currently involved in the Relay for Life.  But she never got back with me.

The services for Deannelle Holt Sheppard were yesterday afternoon and they were very well done. She had planned most of it herself. It was really a celebration of her life.  I saw a lot of people from my past in Bartlesville but most of the old group has died off. After all they were 15 years older then I am. I enjoyed my lunch and visit with Myra too.  She drove over from Vinita. She has developed a new health problem. While sleeping,  she doesn't get enough oxygen. So her doctor has put her on oxygen while she sleeps. Strange. I don't think I've ever heard  of such a thing.

This evening we will go out to Mona and Richard's for dinner and Living the Questions group. I will make a green bean casserole.  She has made a cake and a salad and meatballs.

More later....

Bobby and Karan will pick Bob and me up for the meeting.  Bob is taking a relish dish and Karan is taking garlic bread.  I will take the DVD too. I hope I don't eat too much that late. I don't sleep well when I do.
