Saturday Blog from Desktop Computer

For some strange reason, I cannot blog from my laptop now. I did some maintenance this morning and perhaps I did something that keeps me from being able to blog from there. Luckily I still can access it from the desktop computer. But since the desktop computer doesn't recognize my camera, I won't be able to post any more photos.

Bob and I had breakfast at Eggbert's this morning for the first time in a month. I am full. I believe I will run the vacuum this morning. Missy is shedding terribly and I am sure I have cat hair everywhere.

I did get an appointment for an MRI at the hospital. It's Tuesday the 29th at 3:00. Maybe I can find out what is wrong with my arms. It may be my neck and the pain is just radiating to my arms. I will possibly know as soon as I can see Dr. Hsu.

Anyhow, I am doing laundry this morning and I will probably vacuum too so I will get back here later today.

I am back on the laptop computer now. Whatever it was appears to be fixed now. I got the house vacuumed...all but my bedroom. Missy is in there up under my coverlet. I'll wait until she comes out later in the day. I also did some dusting. It didn't need much. As has been my experience before, electric heat and cooling is much cleaner then gas.

Well, the blogging on the laptop is not working again. Who knows what the problem is. Anyhow, I have this desktop computer I can use.

Independence on Friday

Today I go back to Independence to get my hair done. I just had it done on Wednesday but I definitely don't want to wait until Tuesday to have it done again. The wind and rain has done some bad things to it already anyhow. Afterward I will go out to their Wal Mart to get a few things I need.

I slept pretty well last night I awoke at 4:45 with both arms hurting. I did call Dr. Rayburn's office in Bartlesville yesterday to see if I could get in to see him. It seems he only sees people from referrals from doctors. I doubt I could get Dr. Gillis to refer me to a Bartlesville doctor for x-ray scanning. He would want me to see someone here in Coffeyville and I really don't want a full body scan. I just want my arms scanned.

I tried to call Bob a little bit ago and he did not answer. He's either still asleep or in the bathroom. I will check that out in a little bit. We generally check on one another every morning. It's 6:00 and he's usually up long before this.

I had better water my plants. I just had an advisory from nexis text message that there is thick fog out this morning. Maybe I won't go to Independence after all.

I called Carol and cancelled my hair appointment this morning. The fog is still plenty thick and I don't need to take any chances.

More later....

I called Dr. Shu's office with the advice of my daughter and they told me to get an order from my doctor for an MRI. I did that and my appointment is May 28th at 3:00. After I get the MRI, I will get an appointment to see the doctor.

Maybe eventually I will find out what the problem is instead of just treating the symptoms.

Bob and I had meatloaf for lunch with boiled potatoes and brussels sprouts and fruit salad and then we had fruit for dessert. It was all good.

Back to Bartlesville

Today sometime I will have to go back to Bartlesville to get the air bag installed and the cabin air filter replaced in my car. Bob wants to go too but I will need to wait to go until he finishes delivering "meals on wheels" for Barbara H. He thinks he will be finished by 11:30 or 12:00. I still want to go back to Christopher and Banks to find a jacket to go with my navy pants and white shirt for the class reunion over Memorial Day weekend. All they had was "small" and "large" and those were "petite". I do take "petite" or "short" in pants but "regular" in tops and jackets. I'm all out of proportion. :)

I could do some cleaning while I wait but I'm really not in the mood. I usually clean on Monday and this Monday I didn't get around to it. Instead I planted flowers. It rained yesterday afternoon so I didn't have to do much watering this morning.

I didn't get much sleep last night..mostly because of Missy. She woke me up at midnight and wanted to go out. I let her out...something I shouldn't have done. She disappeared for an hour and I couldn't go back to bed until she was back in. My neighbor, Jan, told me her landlord, Paul, traps cats. I didn't know that when I started letting Missy out. Now she is getting braver and wants to go out for short periods of time....always in the middle of the night.

Then I worked over my various gripes in my mind. The dilemma with my arms, the problems with my incompetent doctor, the terrible expense with my car yesterday because of Fast Lube. I would love to go up there and lay out the results of his incompetent employee to the manager... breaking and then trying to repair the cabin air filter that cost me an arm and a leg to replace. I will never take my car in there again. I would like that manager to know "why". Oh well....

More later...

Bob met me there and we had lunch at Garfield's. Then he took me to the Merle Norman store and I bought my makeup, mascara and lipstick. Then he took me back to pick up my car. They had washed it again and it did not get rained on although it certainly looked like rain. I did find a jacket to go with my blue pants and white top for Friday evening's barbeque dinner.

A Better Night but a Bad Day

Last night was a better night. I took two Tylenol when I went to bed and slept pretty much through the night. I got up once to go to the bathroom but got right back to sleep and slept until 4:00 AM. I was watching PBS last night and fell asleep about an hour into the American Experience program and missed part of Frontline.

This will be a busy day. I get my hair done at 9:00 so we will leave about 8:20 and while my color is developing Bob will get his haircut. Then I am finished about 10:00 and will go buy the makeup I am nearly out of. At 11:00, when Big Cheese opens, we will eat our mini pizza and then come back home. Bob has a funeral for his brother-in-law at 1:00 and I have an appointment in Bartlesville to get my car's oil changed at the Honda agency at 1:30. After that, I am free.

Tonight, though, I have the PINCH meeting at 5:00 at St. James Methodist Church. I have given up the selling of ads for Juneteenth. I simply do not have time to devote to it. My class reunion is Memorial Day weekend and I am in charge. With my arm problem and that reunion and upcoming church reunion, I am stressed with too much responsibility right now.

While I am in Bartlesville today, I want to look at a telephone directory and see if I can find the number for Dr. Rayburn. I want to see him about my arm.

More later...

I spent two hours waiting for my car to be finished. It turned out that Fast Lube in Independence, where I had had my last oil change done, had broken my cabin air filter when trying to get it out. They had tried to repair it unsuccessfully. Honda of Bartlesville ordered another at a huge price. With the change of my transmission fluid, oil change and the replacement tomorrow of the cabin air filter, I spent $345 for what was to have been a $9.95 oil change. What a day. And I have another day just like it coming tomorrow when they install the air filter and replace the rider's side air bag which is a recall.

I got back home just in time to go to the PINCH meeting.

Another Bad Night

I had another bad night. I woke up at 12:30 with both arms aching. I turned over and eventually went back to sleep until 4:00 AM. Then I just got up. They are fine now and I haven't even taken another Tylenol. The mystery continues. My doctor has no interest in finding out what's happening there. I have half a notion to call Dr. Rayburn in Bartlesville. He had diagnosed Bob after months of dealing with local doctors. Oh well...

I may go back to Bartlesville today. I need to see if I can get an appointment to get my oil changed at the Honda agency. It's time.

I will warm up some biscuits for breakfast and have a couple of cups of coffee. I'm never too hungry at breakfast. In fact, the only meal I am hungry for is lunch/dinner. Sometimes I just have yogurt for supper. Last night I just had a small Sonic Blast. I know that's not too healthy but I couldn't think of anything else I wanted. Then I went out to Leslie's and visited for awhile. I also picked up some meat. She gives me all the beef I want.

I have decided just to cook two or three days a week. I may start buying from Schwan's again. Their food is pretty good.

I got out last night and mulched my new flowerbed. Here is a photo of it.

More later...

Well, I did it. I bought some more geraniums and stands for them. I wanted to decorate the front of my apartment area. I will take a photo and post it here.

A Really Bad Night

Last night was really bad. I awoke at 12:30 with my left arm almost throbbing it hurt so badly. I got up and took a Tylenol. That helped some. Still I almost never got back to sleep. When I finally did sometime after 2:30, I slept until 6:00. I lay there for awhile. I was so tired.

I have a big day ahead of me. I want to go out to Hain's Greenhouse and buy some bedding plants now that I have dirt in my flowerbed. But first I want to get some dirt for the flowerpots at Orchelons. I will mix that in with the dirt John and Leslie brought yesterday evening. I want to get geraniums and dusty miller for those flowerpots. I will need to see what is available for the flowerbed.

I also will cook dinner/lunch for Bob and me at noon.

Then this afternoon, I will need to try again to sell some sponsorships for the Juneteenth celebration. I haven't had much luck yet. Of course, I've only talked to three businesses. I am going to try to talk to three or four each day until I sell eight.

It will be big day but I am so happy to get the flowerbed and the dirt in it so I can get flowers to go into it. I will take a photo or two after I get it finished and post them here.

More later...

I got the flowerbed planted and after it grows a bit it should be pretty. Here are some photos of the flowerbed and the flowerpots.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day. I got a lovely card and flowers from my eldest son and a dinner invitation from my daughter. I haven't heard anything yet from my youngest son. His daughter is there visiting and so he may be preoccupied.

I will go to church and then to dinner with my daughter, son-in-law and great grandchildren. They have reservations at Tavern on the Plaza. After that, I will do my usual Sunday afternoon letters. I have read the paper this morning and took it over to Bob so he can read it.

I slept pretty well last night and my arm has not hurt. I took a Tylenol before I went to bed and that may have precluded any pain. Missy, my cat, woke me up at 2:30 wanting to go out so I let her out for a little while. She didn't stay out long. She is still frightened of the unfamiliar territory. This photo is of her lying on my bed this morning on my pillow.

This is my dining room after I finished decorating it. This top photo doesn't show the chickens that are also right by the wall unit but the bottom one does.

More later...

After church, we went to Tavern on the Plaza for lunch. I had their grilled chicken and it was very good. I shared it with Cheyenne, my one year old great granddaughter. Maia, her sister sat on the other side of me and entertained me too. The little girls are darling. Both are very good natured. Cheyenne was asleep when we got to the restaurant but awoke soon afterward. I enjoyed the meal. Leslie got me a hilarious card and a cute little turtle for my collection that she brought me from the Grand Canyon. The card was from Missy, my cat. I wish I could share it here.
