Friday and the Peace Colloquy

Leslie will be along in about 30 minutes to take me to the Peace Colloquy in Independence, Missouri. Karan will be going too but only to visit her daughter who lives in Kansas City.

We will be there until Sunday. Bob is going to feed Missy for me and take care of emptying  her litter box.  She likes him and is always glad to see him.

I have everything packed this time. I  think I have thought of everything.  When we went to Branson, I forgot my blood pressure medicine but that was just overnight.

I had a warmed up biscuit and a cup of warmed up coffee this morning for breakfast.  That will hold me until lunchtime.

I slept well last night and only woke up twice. Both times I got right back to sleep. I am sleeping much better anymore.

I will continue this blog on Sunday. I am not going to take my computer with me.  I will also try to remember to post some photos when I come home.

Thursday and Eating Out Today.

Bob suggested yesterday that we eat out at Just Us today and I leave the leftover chicken and pea casserole for him the next two days so we will do that.  That way he will not have to eat out while I am gone to the Peace Colloquy.  My friends, Ron and Joyce sent me the money for the Peace Colloquy. They couldn't attend but they wanted to help me to go with Leslie. They are wonderful friends.

I will go to Independence today to balance Juanita's checkbook. I may call her and go this afternoon instead of this morning.  It's supposed to rain this morning and I'd rather not drive in the rain.

I slept well last night and stripped my bed this morning so I would get to come home to a nice clean bed.  I awoke twice but managed to get right back to sleep.

Leslie and Karan and I will leave at 7:00 tomorrow morning to attend the Peace Colloquy. I am looking forward to a good time and a learning experience.

I heard from Aime yesterday afternoon too.  The librarian is attending a conference and will not be back until next week She will call me for a job interview the week of the 3rd of November.  That's a relief and one reason I slept well last night. If I can get on at the library, I will make double payments on my car again.

More later....

This is the bed and bedding my brother-in-law has for sale for $100. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Here is the headboard up close...

We will see if it sells ...

No, it didn't sell. Now we'll try Open Line 69...the radio sale show.

We did eat at Just Us and then we came back home and I went to Juanita's to help her balance her checkbook. I then came home and waited for the newspaper to come. I read it and took it over to Bob to read. After the news, he came over for wine and pumpkin pie. Juanita had sent the pumpkin pie home with me and I gave it to Bob.

After he left, I took my bath, put my pjs on and watched TV with Missy on my lap.

At 9:30, I went to bed.

Exercise Wednesday

I've been awake since 3:30. I woke up and went to the bathroom but then couldn't get back to sleep because I was wondering why the library has not called me. Aime doesn't seem to know either. Strange....

I started to fill Missy's bowl and found a slug hanging over the edge of it. I got a Kleenex and picked it up and put it outside in the trash.Ugh! Then I threw out the cat food in the bowl and washed the bowl with soap and water and gave her fresh food. Then, and only then, she ate some food. I don't blame her, I wouldn't eat from a bowl where I had found a slug either. I have no idea how the nasty thing got indoors. The doors are both tight.  That's the second one I've found in the apartment next to the back door. I can't spread poison because of Missy.  I don't want to poison her.

We will have exercise class this morning and then after that I will fix lunch. We are going to have creamed peas and chicken. I fix that with a can of boned chicken and frozen peas.  It's served over biscuits.  Bob will bring his jello salad with oranges.  I will fix some pudding for dessert and we still have cookies.

More later.....

A stranger took this photo of Bob and me at Branson last weekend.

He came along just as I was starting to take a photo of Bob and said, "Wouldn't you like to be in the photo too?" I gave him the camera even though I don't like my photos. (I look like my grandmother). :)

Tuesday and a Hair Appointment

I have a 9:30 hair appointment this morning. Other then that, just waiting for a call from the library.

I slept well last night and didn't get up until 4:50.  I made  a pot of coffee and had a warmed up biscuit for my breakfast.

I need to vacuum today. I have put it off as long as I can. Missy is shedding and I am sure the house carpet is full of cat hair.

We will have the leftover swiss steak for lunch today. I will fix a veggie and Bob will bring his salad.

Yesterday we went over to Sycamore Landing to do the paperwork for his new apartment there. He won't know how much his rent will be until corporate gets back with the manager there.  He still needed some more paperwork so we came back to his apartment to go through his files and find what she needed. Then he went back and he signed all the paperwork.  Then she showed me the apartment he will get. It is small but nice. The stove in the kitchen needs to be repaired. And the stool in the bathroom needs a really good cleaning. They still have to do that. It has a large coat closet in the living room and a huge closet in the bedroom. I think it will work out for him. He plans to move in December.

I checked over the list of recalls for the air bags that are deemed very dangerous and implode with bits of metal in them and my Honda is not among the recalls. Neither is Bob's Toyota but John's Toyota  pickup is listed. It's the passenger side air bag that is dangerous. He will need to check with Toyota and insist they replace them.

More later....I hope the library calls today for my interview.

Haven't heard a word from the library. Maybe the position has fallen through.

After lunch Bob and I worked on his statement for his new apartment. He got it notarized and over to Sycamore Landing.  They decided on his rent. It is a lot cheaper then the apartment he now has.

Then we pulled his floor mats out of his Toyota and we cleaned them. They came out pretty well.  They look a lot better.

He is really tired now and went home to take a nap. He'll be over later for wine and The Big Bang Theory. It will be reruns. Friday new reruns start and next week the Big Bang Theory moves from Monday night back to Thursday night. (or was it Friday?) I forget.

Missy is taking a nap over there in the recliner.

More later....

A Busy Monday

Today I will go to exercise class and then go with Bob for his interview at Sycamore Landing. He should learn what his rent will be over there. He intends to move in December.

Hopefully, I will have an interview for a position at the library sometime today.  I hope to start next week if I get the job. I have already registered for the Peace Colloquy Friday, Saturday and Sunday next weekend.

I have a hair appointment at 9:30 in the morning. I  washed my hair Friday evening. It was driving me crazy.

I took my trash out this morning and over to Marilyn's dumpster.  There was a large fox over by Wayne's property line. It saw me and ran for the woods.

We are having swiss steak at noon today. I thawed the meat last evening. We will have boiled potatoes browned in the skillet, a veggie and coleslaw. I will plan something for dessert...maybe some frozen fruit.

More later...

Dinner turned out fine. I read most of the afternoon. Bob came by for wine and we watched the new Big Bang Theory. We both think they changed writers  and the new episodes are not as funny as the past ones.  I hope they are aware of that.

I took my bath and put my pjs on and watched TV after Bob left. Missy crawled up on my lap...as usual.  I went to bed about 9:00.

I never did hear from the library.

Sunday and Presiding Again

I preside at church this morning and I will need to go over my notes soon. But I want to get the blog started anyhow.

I slept very well last night. My right leg ached a bit but I was able to get settled so it was not terribly annoying. I slept until 5:45..which is late for me.

We will all eat out after church today, as usual.  Afterward, as usual, I will do the newsletters for those who cannot be with us. I send it out by e-mail to those who have e-mail.  I will have to go buy stamps. I am out of stamps again. I have been sending out birthday cards for those who have birthdays each month.  That takes a lot of stamps.

I have a fairly empty week. Tuesday I will get my hair done in preparation for my trip with Leslie on Friday. We will be attending the Peace Colloquy in Independence, Missouri. Bob will care for Missy while I am gone. We will be back Sunday afternoon.

Sometime this week, I should have an interview with the library for a job. I really want to work just five days a week and afternoons only. I can only have 20 hours with this program.  I will need to make up the two extra car payments that I was unable to make in September and August.  I still want my car to be paid off before the two years I have left in this program.

Other then those things, my week is clear.

More later....

I got the letters finished. Now I have to get stamps to send them off.

Dinner one day next week:

Parmesan Baked Pork Chops
4 boneless pork chops
1 T. olive oil
1 C. parmesan cheese (I used Kraft)
1 C. Italian bread crumbs
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder

On a plate combine the last 4 ingredients. Rub the pork chops with olive oil and then dip (coat) each one in the cheese mixture. Press the mixture over the pork chops to make sure they are well covered in it. Line a pan with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Place the pork chops on the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Bob came over this evening and we watched 60 minutes. He went home early because he couldn't stay awake. He didn't get a nap today.

After he left, I took my bath and read my book. About 8:30, I gave up and went to bed.
