Saturday and Another Day of Reading.

I woke up at 3:00 and took my med and went back to bed. But I could not get back to sleep. So I got up shortly before 5:00. I got myself dressed and ready for the day. I will feed Missy shortly and I suppose I will just have my oatmeal for breakfast. Bob will probably have breakfast with Joanne. I will save some money this way.

I notice Keith made my deposit this weekend. Bless his heart! That will help a lot with my rent. I didn't know if he would make a deposit for me this weekend or not. He called yesterday evening and talked to me while he was driving. They got off work early yesterday evening. He will be leaving for his next European assignment soon. He will be going to Athens, Greece.

This has been a very hectic week.  Monday, Leslie and I go to Kansas City for my doctor's appointment for my checkup on the surgery. Then perhaps I can get back to my regular routine of exercises three days a week and games on Wednesdays.

Bob A. and I went to Eggbert's for breakfast this morning. I guess Joanne wants us to continue our breakfasts on Saturday.

More later...

I just finished reading former FBI director James Comey's book "A Higher Loyalty". I had watched his testimony before congress and had been impressed with his candor and obvious honesty. I am even more impressed after reading his book. It is actually a biography. Only the last few chapters concern his association and experience with Trump.  He had a very interesting life. Luckily he was also very good at "reading" people and kept memos of his experience with Trump. As soon as he left a meeting, he wrote the memos, made copies of them and left one copy with one of his staff...just in case. He took the other copy home...just in case.  It's a good thing he did. The book is extremely interesting.

He also told some interesting information about the experience he had with the Vice President Cheney during the Bush administration over the torture of prisoners at the Guantanamo prison and some other "black" sites. He and several other beat a path to the hospital where Attorney General Ashcroft was very ill to keep the Cheney bunch from trying to get the very ill Attorney General to sign off on authorization to change the law to allow additional torture of those prisoners.  It is actually illegal to allow torture according to the law. Everyone should read this book.

More later...

I took my shower about 7:00 and after I had my PJs on, Missy and I lay down on the sofa and we watched two documentaries , One was about Jack Lemmon and was very interesting. The other was about Marilyn Monroe.  We went to bed about 9:00.

Friday and Laundry and Apartment Cleaning

I woke up twice last night. The first time it was at midnight. I went to the bathroom and took my thyroid med and put the laundry in the dryer. The sound of the dryer helped put me back to sleep. Missy curled up next to me too. A nice warm cat helps. :) Then I woke up at 3:00. I tried to get back to sleep again but finally just got up at 4:00 AM and stripped my bed to wash the sheets and my PJs.  I dressed and got ready for the day and now am washing Missy's afghans. They get quite a bit of cat hair on them over time and I try to laundry them about twice a month.

I bribed Missy into getting off the bed so I could remake it. I gave her some more treats. Now, the bed is remade and she is back on it.  That's fine. I have her afghans in the dryer now. Soon I will start cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. It is only 6:00. After I get the bare floors done, I will vacuum the apartment and water my houseplants.

I now have the bathroom and kitchen floors mopped and have vacuumed the dining room and the living room. I will take a short break before I do the halls and bedrooms, My new vacuum that Leslie bought me does an excellent job but it also is very hard to push...it has such a strong vacuuming power.

More later...

I got the rest of the vacuuming done and the plants watered and the place looks nice, I even took Missy outside for awhile and she loved that.

I did go up to Utopia and have a Utopiachino.  I saw one of Leslie's friends there and visited with her  awhile.  Then I went out to the Woodshed in South Coffeyville and bought gasoline. I have bought a lot of gas this month. It is $2.44 a gallon out there.

I read all afternoon. I have been reading Comey's book. It is very interesting.

This afternoon Carmen and Alan came back from Alabama. They picked up Alan's furniture. Now Rick has a sofa.

Later this evening I took my shower and after that Missy and I watched "Mark Felt..the Man Who Brought Down the White House". He was "Deep Throat" during the Watergate investigation. I bought the movie since it was history.

Then at 10:00, we went to bed.

At 10:00, Missy and I went to bed.

Thursday and an Oil Change in Bartlesville

I slept fairly well last night. I woke up at midnight to go to the bathroom, took my med and a melatonin tablet so I could get back to sleep. At 4:00 AM I woke up again and just got up that time.

I dressed and fed Missy and myself and checked the e-mail. I also printed off a coupon for the oil change.  I  had a cup of coffee and Chai Latte and even a cup of hazelnut cappuccino with my oatmeal and cranberry juice .

I will clean the apartment and do the laundry tomorrow since I will be gone today again.

More later...

I left at  8:20 to pick up Karan. We got to the Honda agency by 9:30. They needed to change my filters again. It had been three years and the service manager showed them to me. They were truly filthy. Also, they needed to rotate my tires again. Next time they want to drain and change my transmission fluid. I am not sure that is necessary.  I may ask Gary or Brandon.

After we finished there we went on to the mall to hit the Christopher and Banks store while their big sale was going on. I bought a cute pair of $54.95 jeans for $19.99. It was a real bargain. Karan bought some sale things too.

Then we went to eat lunch at McCalister's.

We got home about  2:30. I took Missy outside for while and then gave her some treats when she came back inside with no argument. She has me trained. In another 30 minutes my paper should be here.

More later...

Bob came over to see if I had all my DVDs back from Gary. I had told Gary to keep them as long as he needed to see all those DVDs. It may be awhile before he gives them back. Bob's girlfriend, Joanne,  got a new DVD player awhile back and her son-in-law got it wired correctly and now it works well. They may have to rent DVDs from V &S Variety until Gary finishes with mine.

At 7:00 I took my shower and put my PJs on so Missy and I could watch something on Amazon Prime. I just heard on TV that Amazon is going to raise that $99 a year twenty dollars more in June.  It will be $119 a year then.   I can't even recall what we watched last night.  I must gave fallen asleep toward the last.

Missy and I went to bed at 8:30.I was very tired.

Wednesday and a Trip to the Doctor for Juanita

I slept fairly well last night. I woke up at 1:00 and needed to go to the bathroom and also take my med. I also took some extra strength Tylenol and a melatonin. My back was aching again. I finally got back to sleep and slept until 4:00 or so. Then I just got up. I had had seven hours sleep. I gave Missy some treats to get her to move off the bed so I could make it. I hope to wash my bedding tomorrow and clean the apartment.

More later....

I went on to Independence early. I first stopped at church to make copies of the Sunday school material for Sunday.  Leslie wanted me to pick up the offering from last Sunday too. I noticed some one had taken down the large wreath from the front of the church. I heard from Leslie that the screw that held it up had come out.

I went to Walmart in Independence and bought another shredder. The one I had finally quit on me.

Then I went on to Juanita's to balance her checkbook before we went on to the doctor. I also needed to write three checks for her. I took her bills to the post office and mailed them and then bought her some more stamps.

We went on to the doctor's office at her appointment time. It took awhile...as usual. I took her back home afterward but first went to Sonic and had a small milk shake. That's our usual treat when I can get her out of the house even if it's just to take her to the doctor.

I got home about 5:30. I was very tired. On the way home a light went on on my dash that reminded me I need to get an oil change. I called Honda of Bartlesville and made an appointment for tomorrow at 8:30. Then I called Karan and asked her if she would like to go with me...and have lunch at McCalisters after we walk the mall. She wants to go. I will pick her up at 8:30 tomorrow morning.

After I had my shower, Missy and I watched a documentary on Amazon Prime about identical twins and at 9:00 we went on to bed.

Tuesday and Hair Day

I woke up about 2:00 AM again, took my med and also a Melatonin tablet. That helped me get back to sleep. I woke up again close to 6:00. I got up, made the bed and dressed for the day. I then fed Missy and myself .

About 8:20, I will leave for Independence to my hair appointment. It always needs to be done by Tuesday. Then I imagine I will come back home and eat some more of that chili. Bob will not go with me for the short appointment.

I had a terrible back ache when I woke up this morning. I took one of those extra strength Tylenol capsules and soon it was fine. One of these days I need to bite the bullet and buy a new mattress and box springs.Mine is worn out.

More later....

I left for Independence at 8:20 and got back at 9:30, I wanted to see the rest of CBS News. They are discussing the state of diplomacy in today's world.  They are discussing the shifts in US foreign policy and approach. It is very interesting.

I hate network news when they break into it with eight commercials. You would think as much as they charge, all those commercials should not be needed. Most of them make no sense at all anyhow. They insult our intelligence.

I spent the afternoon reading and taking Missy outside while it was still warm.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow when I will be taking Juanita to her heart doctor. That will be a challenge since she's blind and needs a lot of help. I only have two hands and will be carrying our purses on one arm and holding on to her with the other. I need a third hand for an umbrella. I will also stay and balance her checkbook if she has her bank statement and she should have it. It will be a full day.

About 7:00 I took my shower  and put my PJs on and settled down on the sofa with Missy to watch a documentary from Amazon Prime. It was on autism and was very interesting. Missy and I went to bed at 9:00.

Monday and A Quieter Day

I slept pretty well last night. I awoke at 2:00 AM and went to the bathroom but took a melatonin tablet and got back to bed and back to sleep until 5:00. Watching the TV, kindle or computer makes it hard to sleep. The blue light they emit, destroys the natural melatonin our bodies make and makes it difficult to sleep. If I take a melatonin tablet, it usually helps me to sleep.

I dressed, made the bed and got myself ready for the day. I fed Missy and myself and brought my checkbook up to date.

In a little while I will drive over to the market and buy a packet of Williams Chili Seasoning. The one I have seasons 4 pounds of ground beef. How I managed to buy that is a mystery to me.  I will buy a regular sized packet for our chili.

I need a few more things and I will buy them there too. Driving six and a half miles out to Walmart  and back destroys any savings the shopper might have.

Today, I may strip my bed and wash the bedding. Right now Missy is in on the bed so I will wait until she gets off the bed to do that.

More later...

The video I had on my facebook page had disappeared and I finally found it on my younger son's page and copied it for mine.

Here it is . My Bob spent three weeks at 09/11  that September for the Red Cross as a chaplain and went back in January for another four weeks. This interview was from the Pittsburg, Kansas TV station.

https://www.facebook.com/margie.miller.5201

Maybe you can access it here or copy and paste it to watch it on this facebook site.

I had asked Rick to come for lunch since Carmen has gone back to Alabama with Alan and pick up Alan's furniture.  But  Rick and I decided to make it dinner instead of lunch. He is very busy on Mondays.  So he will come by after he finishes work this evening. It worked out fine. I had my leftover Chinese for my lunch.

I puttered around and even took Missy out while the weather was nice. She loved that.

Around 7:00 Rick finally got off work and came for dinner. We visited and later he went on home.  He expects to be called out later on. He says Mondays are very busy....after a weekend I imagine.

After I cleaned up after dinner, I took my shower and Missy and I began to watch some more of the program about Savants. I woke up at 10:00 and I turned off the TV and we went on to bed.

Sunday and Church and the Chinese Restaurant

I got up about 4:30 this morning. I simply could not sleep any longer. I went over to Dollar General and bought some cat litter. The boxes I have been using are not as large as I usually buy. But they only weigh 8.8 pounds and I can easily carry them. I am not supposed to carry anything heavier then 15 pounds until after my checkup on the 30th.

Then Bob came by to pick me up and we went to get Phyllis. Johnna spoke at church and did a good job. Eight of us went to Great China for lunch. It was good! Great China has been closed for over a month. Every year they do that to make a trip back to China. I re-opened recently and Phyllis and Bob and I planned to go there to eat today after church. Then five others decided to join us. That was nice!

Rick doesn't care for Chinese so I plan to make a pot of chili tomorrow and he will come over for lunch. I will fix some cheese and buy some Freetoes and set out some crackers. Maybe I will fix some pudding for dessert.

More later...

We had a good lunch and when I got home I called Rick to invite him over for chili tomorrow. He accepted and we plan to eat at 1:00 unless he gets busy and has to change the time.

I got the newsletters done and one in the snail mail. The others go out in e-mail.

Later Missy and I ate a light supper and watched Amazon TV until 9:00 when we went to bed.
