Back On Saturday

We got home on Saturday evening about 5;00PM. It was a very good conference. It went smoothly and we managed to get back to Kansas by 5:00PM. I took my car out of Leslie's garage and came home and unpacked. There's not much to say after that!

Tomorrow I have a 2:00PM appointment at the pharmacy downtown to get my first shingles shot. It will be a month since the shingles cleared up.

More Later..I am going to go read and at 7:00PM I will take my bath.

More Later.

And that's what I did. I finished the book and will start another this evening.

Friday and Springfield

Leslie and I will be going to Springfield today for a conference. I slept fairly well last night and have had my coffee and a breakfast bar and am now having my Chai Latte. I am to go out to her place at 9:00AM and leave my car in her garage.

I opened the door earlier and found Blondie waiting for his breakfast so I fed him. He ate his fill and left and soon I will take the cat food in the garage and cover it. Right now I am ready to put the week's weather forecast on this blog. I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 67 degrees and mostly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 77 degrees and sunny, Monday  is to be 76 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 79 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 79 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 84 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Thursday is to be 78 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. That's the week. One day of probable rain. We can sure use it!

I left to go to Leslie's at 8:00AM and when I got there I put my car in her garage and she drove to Springfield and we spent the weekend there at Mission Center Conference. We got home to her house about 5:00PM and I unpacked when I got home and put everything away. I went by the grocery store and bought a coffeecake mix. I will fix that in the morning for our breakfast at 10:00 at church.

Back on Saturday...

Thursday and Laundry

I have been up since 4:10AM this morning. I didn't sleep well at all...I was awake off and on all night. Aggravating!

I started my laundry right away this morning It's in the dryer now..

I turned on the TV and soon saw "the weather on the 8's". Also, when I opened the front door Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. I took it out to him but he was gone. I left it out there in case he comes back. I will take it back in if he doesn't show up soon.

Here's the weather forecast though.

Today is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy,  tomorrow is to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 77 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 75 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and mostly sunny, and Wednesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy. No rain in this week's forecast. I guess we did get some rain last night...but mot much!

More Later...

Blondie did come back for more food. I left it out there 30-45 Minutes and he came back and ate some more of the dry cat food. He had already polished off the wet cat food.

I went through the rest of my storage closet in the bedroom and took everything I didn't need out to the church this morning. I still have to get stuff out of the attic but Leslie said if I would wait, she would help me with that. I have Christmas decorations up there on the south side of the opening and that stuff on the north side may be more expendable. I will have to wait and see.

I am going to take my old printer out there too. Keith brought me a new one last year at Thanksgiving. I have an unused ink cartridge for it too.

I have cleaned the apartment today too. I just finished vacuuming and have the vacuum on the charger now. I think I will see if Sally wants to go eat at Copan with me.

When Sally and I got back from lunch at Copan, I took her home and then I came home too. Now I will read on one of the three books I got at the library earlier.

A little while ago, I went out and watered the flowers both front and back. I also filled the bird bath.

It's 82 degrees out there  and sunny and I needed to mow the front yard and because I could, I did.  It needed it and so does the rest but I will be gone with Leslie this weekend so it won't get done.

Maybe when I get back I can do the back and save the west side until  last. That's what I did the last time I mowed last week.

Then a couple of days ago, I raked and bagged up the debris.

Maybe More Later...

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept fairly well last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I opened the front door and found Blondie waiting for his breakfast. I took it out to him and when he had had all he wanted, he left. I will bring his dish in shortly and clean it up.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" ...finally

Today is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms  Thursday is to be 82 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 75 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 79 degrees and sunny, and Tuesday is to be  83 degrees and sunny. That's the week...more like Fall that's for sure...with one or two days of rain. I am ready for it!

I raked leaves in the back yard yesterday and tried to clean it up. My neighbor's trees are making a mess of it again today I am sure.

I noticed Stephen came and mowed his yard yesterday afternoon.

I will be leaving for Coffeyville and my hair appointment at around 8:00AM. It's only 6:10AM now. I am hoping the cushion I discovered when I cleaned out my bedroom storage closet last Saturday will help me avoid the bright sun in my eyes as I travel over there today. I will set it on my driver's side seat. That will elevate me some. I will also wear the sunglasses Scott and Ginger gave me a couple of years ago. I will read at the senior center  until 1:00PM, when we have Bunco at the senior center.

I read at the senior center until I finished my third book. I will take it to the Caney Library and put it in the book drop.

We played Bunco until 3:30PM and then everyone who won money for their games ( most buncos...$10,00, Most Mini Buncos $2.00 Most won games $5.00),  They put away their money and left when the chairs were put away and the tables were taken down.

I got home at 3:56PM and the rain was just beginning. I understand it's supposed to rain tonight. In fact it is thundering now.

More Later...

About 7:00PM I took my bath and put my pajamas on and got myself ready for bed. I will watch some TV until 9:00PM when I plan to go to bed.

Tuesday abd Cookies

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night to take my two meds. I was up before 5:00AM though. made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

Today I take cookies to the First Christian Church in Independence for a light dessert for their Tuesday evening dinner they serve two Tuesday evenings a month.

When I opened the front door I found Blondie waiting for me to bring him his breakfast. I took it out to him and he ate his fill and left. I then took the bowl in the garage and covered it.

I have had my coffee, Chai Latte and a breakfast bar. I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 81 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy. Friday is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy. Saturday is to be 66 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 73  degrees and sunny, and Monday is to be 79 degrees and sunny. So it looks like Wednesday is the only rain this week. That's better then none.

I stopped at G & W Foods  across the street from the First Christian Church there in Independence and bought cookies for three of our members. Then I came back home and read until I finished the book I had been reading.

I called Sally to see if she would like to go back to Independence and eat lunch at the Dairy Queen there. She thought that was fine idea. So I picked her up and we drove back to Independence and ate the $7.00 meal deal there at the Dairy Queen. As usual, it was very good. After we ate and left I offered to take Sally to Walmart there if she needed anything. She was doing a dinner for Wednesday for her church. She did want some milk and two loaves of bread to warm in the oven for her dinner.

Then I took her home and came home myself.

Then I began raking and bagging up the leaves in the back yard.  It looks so much better now! I am pretty hot though. I just turned the thermostat down to cool the apartment better now. It is 3:32PM and I am hot and tired. I will go read on my last book now. First I want to take a photo of the back yard. It's awfully bleached out but sure neater looking.

Monday and A Good Night's Sleep

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night, took my two meds and got right back to sleep and slept until nearly 5:00AM. That was good for a change.

I turned on the TV just in time to catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow  is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 82 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 83 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun,  Friday is to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy, and Saturday is to be 68 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 74 degrees and sunny..that's the week...not much rain..only Wednesday... but a lot cooler weather. Maybe Fall has finally arrived!

Oh yes, when I opened the front door, Blondie was waiting there for his breakfast. I took it out to him and he ate his fill and left. I took the tray in the garage and covered it.

More Later... It's 6:32AM now.

I left home for my walk at 8:15AM and picked up trash all along my route. When I got home, the trash had been picked up so I moved the receptacle up to the space between our garage doors and parked it there.

I took the book I had just finished reading and dropped it in the book drop at the Caney library. I still have at least one more...maybe two.

More Later...

It's 9:03AM now.

Later this morning I went back to the library and checked out three more books to read this week.

I went down to Copan Restaurant and had their beef vegetable soup and iced tea for my lunch. When I got back home I stopped at Dollar General and bought cleaner for my partial and some tissues and some Edy iced cream.  I had a bowl of that for my supper.

Then I read the rest of the afternoon and stopped just before 7:00PM and took my bath and put my pajamas on and will read some more until 9:00PM, when I plan to go to bed.

Sunday and Church

I was up before 5:00AM again this morning. I slept off and on most of the night.

I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day and started my coffeecake for the breakfast at church at 10:00AM.

I caught Blondie just outside the door and got his breakfast for him/ He has eaten his fill and left. Soon I will take the dish in the garage and cover it.  Now I want to get "the weather on the 8's" for the next local week posted here.

Today is to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 92 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and thunderstorms. Thursday is to be 82 degrees and AM showers, Friday is to be 78 degrees and sunny and Saturday is to be 71 degrees and sunny. So it looks like a possibility of two days rain..Wednesday and Thursday. I hope we get it. We are desperate for water in the Caney river. Plus..it appears it's going to cool down some.

More Later...

Phyllis and I ate after church at Eggbert's in Coffeyville. While we were there a child in the next book spilled her water and it splashed on my back as well as on my feet under our booth. We quickly  had to move one booth east. We had our fruit parfait and when I went to pay for it, the waitress said that the couple with the children had paid for my lunch. I got up and went back there and thanked them. That was very good of them. They apologized for the child but I told them I had had children and there was never any way of knowing what they might do. It was an accident but I thought it was very good of them to do that.

Later I was looking for Karan's 5 fine dollar bills she had given me in the kitchen... to pay for her cookies in October.

When I got home, I called Phyllis and told her I had found those five $5.00 bills. They were on top on the coffeecake I had gone back for in the kitchen. I had laid the bulletins I had picked up on top of them.

Getting old is not for sissies.
