Friday At Last

Today is Friday and I think the cold is well on it's way out. I feel pretty good  this morning. Of course, I took a Benidril before I went to bed.  Of course, I haven't yet taken a cold tablet yet this morning.  I will do that or my nose may start running again. I have been taking Claritin.  I am all packed and ready to go to the women's retreat. I even have my sleeping bag and pillows ready to be packed in the trunk.

I will come home after work and feed Missy and check everything over. Then I will go pick up Karan. We will be on our way then. It's an hour and a half drive so we will be late getting there.

More later....

I got home after work and changed my jeans. Being down on that floor at the library really got the ones I wore to work filthy.  Then I went by and picked up Karan. It took us an hour and a half to get there and we missed supper.

More Monday...

Thursday and Another Work Day

I feel a little better this morning but I had felt better yesterday morning too. As the day progressed I felt worse and worse. Last night I was exhausted. I had blown my nose all day and it was red as Rudolph's.  I did sleep well though. Before I went to bed I took a Benadril.

The library is a very dirty place to work. My wine colored jeans were clean yesterday morning but when I got home last evening, they were covered with dust.  When I turned them inside out to put them in the laundry, they were covered with dust inside too. I have to get down on my knees to put away DVDs on the bottom shelves of the bookcases and I don't think our custodian does much of anything. He is enormous and can barely get around.  Therefore he never cleans the dirty spots on the new carpet.  His mother goes off the board in April so maybe we can get a new custodian.....one that will actually clean the place. I have run the small vacuum several timer and also got the spot cleaner and a brush and washed the mud off the carpet several times.

I have to start the stew in awhile.  First have to work up the energy.

I got my SER pay today and made a second car payment for the month. I hope to have the car paid off before I have to give up the job.

I hope to get rid of the cold before tomorrow evening.  Karan and I are hoping to go to the women's retreat after I get off work tomorrow. If I can go, I will not be home until Sunday afternoon.  Bob will come over and feed and water Missy and clean her litter.

More later....

Bob came over and had wine but left at 7:00. Big Bang Theory wasn't on. The channel carried the NCAA basketball tournament.

When he left I took my bath and watched some TV until 8:45 and then went to bed.

Better On Wednesday

I am better today. I had a rough night but finally just got up and took two Aleve. Then I slept until 6:30. I did a load of laundry after that and decided to go to exercise class this morning. I still have a slightly runny nose but the cold is much better. I felt like cooking today and made a tuna noodle casserole which we shared with Bobby and Karan. It was very good.

Tomorrow we will have beef stew. I have set the meat in the frig to thaw.

Bob will be over this evening for wine and Nature and Nova.

More later....

After work, I was still doing a lot of blowing. I  will take Benadril again tonight or I will not be able to breathe. If this cold isn't  a lot better by Friday, I will not be going to the retreat. I don't feel like dealing with it there.

I just got home from work and had eaten my yogurt when Bob came. He left at 7:00 though...didn't stay for Nature or Nova. I watched Nature but don't know if I can make it through Nova or not. It's only 8:00 but this cold has really worn me down. It got a lot worse while I was at work.

Keith called awhile ago and I was really glad to hear from him. They signed on their house today and will be moving in over the next weekend. I'm happy they have bought a home but am concerned if they will be able to pay it off. He will be 60 in August.

My children are getting to early old age. My daughter will be 58 in July and my younger son will be 55 in November.  Three days later, I will turn 80.

How time flies!

I will make stew tomorrow.

Still Sick on Tuesday

I have a hair appointment this morning but I will cancel after Cathy get in this morning. I am definitely not up to it.  I will also call in sick again and stay in.

My back aches and I have a runny nose. I had a sore throat when I first got up but warm coffee seems to have helped that. I have a low grade temp too (100 degrees). I guess I will just have to wear it out. My head also feels full. I got up although I really felt like staying in bed. I dressed just in case I decide to go to the doctor. I took another Claratin this morning.

I read all day yesterday and finished my book.

Bob dropped in a couple of times to check on me.

More later....

I ended up going to work after all. It's a good thing I did. There were dozens of DVDs to be put away. I spent  the first two hours putting them in the storage machines and the other two hours putting the cases in the bookcases. I was exhausted when I got home. But Bob came over immediately and I had no chance to eat anything even if I had had an appetite.  He stayed until after 7:00 and then I took my bath and continued sending photos to Scott of his Iraq war experience. His albums, which I had made for him are in storage in California.

Then I went to bed.

Monday and Sick so No Work

I'm not sure I'm going to exercise class this morning.  I am either fighting my allergies or a cold. I am spraying my throat and using zinc lozenges. Sometimes they will shorten a cold...if it is a cold. It will be hard enough to work today with the kids out of school for spring break.   They are so rowdy and they hang in the library because we have that teen room with all those computers. Some of these kids have tablets and they bring them and use our Wi Fi to connect to the internet.

I don't have much patience with kids of any age anymore.  Many of them have not been taught any manners and many of them are not considerate of others.  I can just imagine how hard it is to be one of those folks who use the library computers to do their income tax and to have to deal with all that noise while trying to concentrate.

More later....

Well, it's either a cold of the flu and I don't know which it is.  I called in sick and stayed in all day. I did eat some oatmeal and a banana but nothing except a smoothy the rest of the day.  I wasn't up to cooking at all.

Marilyn invited Bob over for supper last night and they sent me  a plate but I had no appetite and it's in the frig.

Sunday and Church

I awoke fairly early this morning after a rather restless night. I awoke first at 12:00 midnight with a sore throat.  I took an allergy tablet and tried to get back to sleep. Finally I got up and sprayed my throat with Chloraseptic spray. That helped a lot and I finally went back to sleep. Next time I woke up at 6:20 and got up. I had wanted to wash my hair but after last night, I decided against it.

I got ready for church but didn't fix my coffee cake. It will wait until next time I'm at church. Next weekend I will be attending a women's retreat.

I spent the afternoon doing my congregational newsletters and bringing this blog up to date.

Bob will be over this evening to watch 60 Minutes and  have a glass of wine.

More later...

Bob did come over for wine and half a cupcake. I only made three and we ate the other two earlier in the week.

He left at 7:00 and I took my bath and put my PJs on as usual and Missy and I sat in the recliner until 8:30 when I gave up and went to bed.

I am either fighting my allergies or a cold. I took a Benidril  at bedtime.
