Scott's Gone

Scott left just a little while ago. Becky, his girlfriend, invited him to come meet her older son. That will be good for them. He has not heard from her since Wednesday.

So, I'm alone again. I got my lawn mowed this morning and we read together a book he bought at Bartlesville on Thursday.

Later on tonight after it cools off a bit, I will try to do my trimming. Right now it is over 98 degrees. I will watch some TV or take a nap. I didn't sleep very well last night.

More later...

I went out and cleaned the church again. This is my month. While I was at it, I had that old car that was abandoned in our parking lot towed. It had been there over two weeks.

What a busy day Thursday was

Thursday was a really busy day. We went to Bartlesville and walked around the mall. We went to the Waldenbook store and Scott bought a self help book by Dr. Phil. I read it aloud to him and we went over the questions to test his mental health together. It was a different thing to do.

We also went to Diamond Repair shop and left his truck to be repaired. A horse kicked his back panel and put a dent in the body and they will fix it by Monday. If he had had it repaired back at his home they could not have got to it until the 29th. Diamond was probably glad to get the business. They got right on it yesterday.

Then last night, he took me to Tavern on the Plaza for dinner. That was nice. We had salmon and it was very good. We read all evening until 9:30 and then we both went to bed.

Today we will go to Independence and pick up a rental car for his use.

Tonight I will attend the CRMC ice cream social.

Scott's here!

My son, Scott, came home on leave again. He will stay the better part of a week. He also ordered expanded TV so I would have a lot more stations to watch. And he will stake up my tree instead of John. In the next month and a half he will leave for Germany. Before he got here, I mowed the yard. I was afraid it would rain and the yard looked pretty shaggy.

I cleaned this morning and got everything done but the vacuuming. I will do that tomorrow. Actually the house looks pretty good. There's no one to mess it up now.

If I ever get the insurance money I will pay the funeral home and then I want to have my carpets cleaned. They have never been cleaned and really need it.

We went to the market this morning and I fixed some soup for dinner. We will go out to John and Leslie's this evening for Family Night. Bobby and Karan are going to pick us up. They will be by in about thirty minutes.

Tomorrow we will go to Bartlesville. It's something different to do. The TV people will turn on the expanded channels while we are gone.

Tuesday Morning

I woke this morning at 6:40..just in time to dress, feed the animals and get over to Bob and Phyllis'. I almost overslept too long.

It rained again last night so I may not have to water my plants again today...if the roof overhang didn't keep them dry. I'll have to check.

My Rose of Sharon are now blooming. They are so pretty. And they will continue to bloom for a very long time.

I need to get John to come by and stake up my flowering crab tree. It is leaning over the drive and interfering with my car. The wind has caused this. If John stakes it back up, it will eventually straighten itself up again.

I will have lunch with my doctor, Melissa, today at 12:30.

I will strip my bed and wash the bedding today. I need to mow again but it is way too wet after two days of rain.

Marilyn just called and invited me to have dinner with her and Judy. That was nice. Judy will pick me up at 5:30 this evening.

Scott also called. He will come for a few days while he has leave. He will soon be deployed to Germany.

More later...

Cleaning Monday

Today I will go out to Leslie's and clean her huge house. It's 2500 square feet and that's huge to me. Mine is about 1600 square feet and I can clean mine in a couple of hours. I imagine Leslie's will take me all morning..maybe longer.

It's raining today and she just called to tell me not to come in the rain. I told her I had an umbrella and had set aside today to clean her house and I didn't want to let it go. She keeps it immaculate. Besides, what else can you do on a rainy day?

More later....

After I cleaned her house, I went into town to make a deposit. Then we went to lunch together. That was nice. When I got home I found I had two more condolence cards. That makes 105. I had no idea I had so many friends.

Tonight at 5:00, I will meet a couple at church who want to use our church for their wedding next May. They want to see the church. The woman is the granddaughter of one of our members.

The photo above is one my older son found on the internet of Bob at Fargo, North Dakota for flooding. That was his last deployment for Red Cross.

Busy Sunday

I went to church this morning and presided. Our Mission Center President, Charles Davenport, preached and did a great job. There was a pretty good crowd and we had a salad luncheon afterward and lots of great fellowship.

When I got home, I wrote my letters to those who did not attend and sent them a bulletin.

Next Sunday is Father's Day and Sue Rowden will preside and Leslie will speak. Afterward we will go out to Leslie's for a Father's Day cookout. There will be fishing available for those who want to fish. And there will be homemade ice cream. I love homemade ice cream.

Tonight is Living the Questions group at Keith and Joyce's home. I will go.

Tomorrow I will clean John and Leslie's home. Later that evening, at 5:00 I will meet a couple at the church to show them the church. They would like to be married at our church.

Tuesday I will go to Bob and Phyllis's and sit with Phyllis while Bob goes to breakfast with his friends. At noon, I will meet Melissa for lunch.

Wednesday's Family Night will be held at John and Leslie's home. It will be a sharing and prayer meeting.

I think I am free Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Busy, busy, busy.
