Saturday and Breakfast Out

I didn't sleep well at all last night again.  Missy was restless and a part of the problem. My hands hurt some even though I took an Aleve before bed.  I raked for a couple of hours yesterday and that evidently took it's toll. Eighty year old hands that have already been damaged are not up to raking anymore, I guess.

Bob will be over in the next thirty minutes to pick me up for breakfast. After that, later this morning I will go to Independence to the Republican caucus. This is Kansas' first caucus. Our demented governor hopes to save a couple of million dollars to hold a caucus instead on a primary. I hate to spend half of Saturday at a caucus but I complain so much about the system and the candidates this year that I must go to have any authority at all for all my "letters to the editors". I will be home by 2:45 this afternoon.  I am hoping my son, Keith, will get with me to work out why this laptop won't recognize the printer. It says it's off the server but it can't be since I am online.

More later...

It was a huge day!  I fixed our lunch  after all. We just had it a little later.

Keith called and he logged onto my computer and had it fixed in five minutes.  The printer works now.

Then I worked on Bob's computer all afternoon. But I got the e-mail working again. Then I raked and bagged all the leaves on the west side of my apartment. Bob and I later sat in the lawn chairs on the carport and enjoyed the warm sunshine. Missy lay in the sun and enjoyed herself.

Then we cleaned Bob's floor mats on his car.

After we watched the news, Bob left. I couldn't find anything to watch on TV so I went out and raked and bagged the leaves on the east side of my apartment. I worked until dark.

Then I came in and took my bath and sat with Missy in the recliner until 9:00. Then we went to bed.

Friday and Exercise Class and Cinnamon Rolls

I have exercise class this morning and afterward this is the week they make cinnamon rolls at Utopia. The group goes there after exercise class and has coffee and cinnamon rolls.

I am doing some laundry this morning. I do laundry twice a week usually on Monday and Thursday but yesterday was busy so I am doing it this morning instead.

I talked to my daughter yesterday morning and she told me they have bought a new travel trailer. They have looked for one for several years and finally bought a new one. My son-in-law loves to fish and he will love using this new trailer.  He wants to take it to Alaska and fish there. He usually goes to Roaring River  in Missouri. Years ago, my grandson worked as a marine biologist in Alaska and he gave his dad a fishing trip to Alaska, complete with guide, for a birthday gift. He had a wonderful time and now he wants to go back with his travel trailer.  That will be a wonderful experience for him!

We will have tuna cakes with fried potatoes, a veggie and a salad for lunch/dinner today. I have mixed fruit for dessert.

This afternoon I will bake cookies again.  We ate the last of them yesterday evening.

I got my sermon mostly done yesterday. I will work out the kinks later this weekend.

More later...

After dinner I raked and bagged leaves for awhile. When I came back in I noticed my son had posted a photo of his home's garage door so I am putting it here. Different, isn't it?

Now I am going over to Karan's to Bobby sit while Karan gets away to have her hair done.  Bobby is a lot worse this week.  He is now in a hospital bed. He no longer knows any of us.

More later.....

I stayed with Bobby about an hour while Karan got away and got her hair done. Bobby is quite a bit worse. He tried to get out of bed and make it to the bathroom and fell in the hall going into the dining room. He is so disoriented.  I got him up by grasping him from behind under his arms and pulling him to his feet and we walked that way back to the hospital bed. He is so dizzy he cannot walk anymore.

I came on back home after that and Bob came over and stayed until 7:00. When he went home I took my bath and Missy and I sat in the recliner until 8:30 or so and then we went to bed.

Thursday and Ministerial Alliance

This morning I need to work on my sermon for Sunday after next. I don't want to wait until the last minute to get that done.

I did not sleep well last night. I worried about all the documents I lost when the desktop computer crashed. I thought I had backed everything up but I'm not sure I did. I did a complete file backup.

Finally I got up about 2:30 and checked the laptop for some of the more important information. It was there. I am so glad. I had worked up a brochure for the PINCH organization and I had worried I had lost it. It was saved on the laptop though.  I sent it to the small laptop and printed off a copy.  I will need to buy another color print cartridge now. I notice the one I'm using is thinning out.

I brought the larger laptop into the den and set it up with the printer in there but I could not get the printer installed on it. It kept saying it was not on the server. Strange....the laptop was on the internet and so was the old 2007 computer and it has an older printer. I e-mailed everything I wanted to  print off to that old printer.  Maybe Keith will get back to me later today or tomorrow and help me get it set up. We have the TeamViewer program on the laptop so he can take it over from Phoenix.

I will attend the Ministerial Alliance noon meeting at noon today. Bob has some leftovers that I sent home with him on Monday. He will eat those.

This afternoon, I will work on that sermon.

This evening...around 4:30...we will go to Independence to pick up his car at Quality Toyota. They should have his new alternator installed by then.  He is to pick up his car around 4:30.

More later....

I got the sermon roughed out and about 4:00, Bob and I went up to Independence to get his car. Besides the alternator, he also had to have a new battery. That was $125 more. It was a shock but the car is a 2007 Toyota so when you drive an older car, you have to expect upkeep. My car is a 2008 Honda. I wonder when the other shoe will drop with it.

I came on home and he followed me later and came over to watch the news with me here at 5:00.
When he left at 7:00, I took my bath and Missy and I tried to watch TV for awhile but I ended up going to bed at shortly after 8:00.

Wednesday and then Exercises and Lenten Luncheons

Today will be another big day. I will pick up Bob at 8:40 and we will go to exercises. Afterward we will go to the First Baptist Church for the Lenten Luncheon and after that I will have Bob take me over to the senior center for games.  He can keep my car and run his errands. He can pick me up after game day. We will play Bunco today.

I slept well last night again. I got up about 4:45.

Yesterday was Super Tuesday in many states yesterday. My state isn't one of them. I will go to Independence Saturday to attend a caucus for Kansas. I am a registered Republican but there is no way I would vote Republican this year. ...especially for that Trump or even the second place runner up.

I will vote Republican in the primary... for Rubio if he's still in the race and then in November, I will vote for Hillary.  If Rubio drops out before Saturday, I will not even attend on Saturday.

It's unbelievable that so many Americans have voted with their emotions and not their brains. They don't seem to realize that Trump would be a complete disaster for the nation.

More later....

I worked two hours trying to get the desktop computer up this morning after I rebooted. It would not come up to the area where I put in my password.  It tried over and over again to come up but to no avail.  I even ran scan disk to repair the hard drive but even that didn't do it. Luckily I have my two laptops and they are still able to get online. So I am not stuck without a computer. Bob is here and he is paying his bills online.  Computers! Bah Humbug!

More later...

Bob and I went to the Lenten Luncheon at the Baptist Church and had cornbread and beans. They were good and the speaker who gave her testimony, was also good.  I let Bob keep my car so he could go to the market at Walmart. He picked me up at 3:00.

I am back to using my two laptops for awhile. That will work. I can send the data I want to the small 2007 laptop in the den that has an old printer connected to it and can print from there.

I went to game day at the senior center and won $5.00 for the most Buncos. Then when I got home I noticed I had sold another book on Amazon. I rushed to the post office after printing off a packing slip  to put in the book and bought a book bag there. With the postage plus the book bag, I spent that $5.00. It's good that I won that $5.00.

I came home after that and read the paper. Bob walked over to watch the news and read the papers. After that, at 7:00, I took him home.

Then Missy and I watched TV until 9:00 when we went to bed.

Tuesday and a Hair Appointment

I slept really well again last night. I got up shortly after 5:00 and made up my face, checked the e-mail and bank account and fed Missy and myself.

Today I will go to Independence to get my hair done. I will take Bob with me. We will go out to Quality Toyota after I get my hair done. Bob wants to talk to the service department.  Then we will go to Big Cheese and have lunch. After that we will come back home and I will drop Bob of at his apartment.   It's supposed to have rained last night. I haven't checked yet but I don't think it rained.

I raked the middle yard yesterday afternoon and bagged up three bags of leaves. I put them in the trash receptacles.  They picked up the 16 bags of leaves Betty's niece left here last week.  It was supposed to be a $35.00 charge for that but they waived that. I had hoped to get the leaves raked out of my flowerbed and the east side of my yard but ran out of time and energy.  I won't do that today because the wind would play havoc with my new hairdo. Maybe I can get that done next Monday.

After it gets light, I will take a photo of what I did get done yesterday afternoon.

More later...

These are a couple of photos of what I finished raking yesterday. I see a few more leaves have blown in since then. I just can't seem to get ahead of it yet.

Here's the second view of the street area.
You can see I have my work cut out for me on the east side of my apartment.

Here's another.
And here's another..
I hope to get those all bagged up next week.

More later...

I went to Bartlesville again to look for the coin purse for part of my great granddaughter's birthday this month. I wasn't able to find what she wanted. ...a clasped coin purse with handle. I went everywhere. I simply could not find one.

Anyhow, I came back home and have been gone all day. I took Bob to his apartment before I left for Bartlesville. He was very tired and needed a nap.

I don't know what I'll do about Maia's birthday. She is counting on a coin purse like I gave to Cheyenne.

More even later...

Here's the latest on my son and daughter-in-law's new home.

They are finishing up the soffets and getting the trim ready for the stucco.

Bob walked over at 5:00 and stayed until 7:00. Missy and I watched TV until 9:0 and then we went to bed. It had been a big day.

Monday and Exercises again

I slept really well last night after staying up late. Today I will go to exercised class at the senior center.  I will pick up Bob since his car is in Independence at Quality Toyota being checked out.  We don't have a clue what that strange motor noise was about.

I usually start my cleaning before exercise class but I have been trying to figure out how to put a widget into this blog and have wasted a lot of time. I got the bathroom and the kitchen done and started the vacuuming.  I finished the den and my bedroom and the hall and a part of the living room. I will do the dining room and the rest of the living room later.  Then I went to go pick Bob up for exercise class.

He walked over early for lunchtime. He wanted to check his bank account.  He needs to pay bills soon.

I started  dinner after that. We had a casserole dish made with the rest of the chicken I had left from Friday. It was quite good.

I sent the leftovers home with Bob because we will be going to Independence tomorrow and will eat a mini pizza at Big Cheese.  That costs us $5.25 each.  While there in Independence, he will also check on his car.

Wednesday we will attend the Lenten Luncheon at the First Baptist church. That will cost $3.00. Thursday I will attend the Ministerial Alliance meeting at Windsor Place. That is free so Bob will eat that leftover chicken casserole on Thursday.

I've cleaned up after dinner and am now resting a bit. Later, if I get the energy I will finish vacuuming.

In the meanwhile, I'm doing some more fact checking on Donald Trump.

False claims:

"We (Trump University) have an ‘A’ from the Better Business Bureau."

Pants on Fire rulings:

Says Ted Cruz "said I was in favor in Libya. I never discussed that subject."

Says that in the Philippines more than a century ago, Gen. John Pershing "took 50 bullets, and he dipped them in pigs’ blood," and shot 49 Muslim rebels. "The 50th person, he said, ‘You go back to your people, and you tell them what happened.’ And for 25 years, there wasn’t a problem."

Trump's statements by ruling

Click on the ruling to see all of Trump's statements for that ruling.
Quality finally called Bob last evening about 5:00. It was the bearings going out on his alternator. It will cost $645 for a new alternator. He can get his car on Thursday.

What a mess!

He came over to watch the news. After I took him home, I took my bath and Missy and I watched Sister Act 2 until 9:00 and then we went to bed.

Sunday and Presiding

I slept well again last night and got up about 5:15. I've dressed and eaten my breakfast and read the paper and done the crossword puzzle. Now I need to get today's blog going and then check my notes for the service this morning. Karan does not need any more responsibility then she already has..taking care of Bobby. I took her presiding responsibility today and her sermon in March. No telling how long Bobby with last.

We won't have many in church today since John and Sue and Johnna are in Pittsburg, Kansas, celebrating a grandchild's birthday.  Bill texted me yesterday that he has to work all day today.  That's at least four out of a small congregation.  I doubt that Karan and Bobby will be there either so that's six. And, oh yes, Phyllis F. went to Overland Park to see her daughter and grandchildren. Numbers are not all that important, I know.

We will eat out somewhere after church. It will probably be Sirloin Stockade this week. We ate at El Pueblo last Sunday.

When I get home I will get my newsletters out and then later watch 60 Minutes and then the Academy Awards.  It will be another busy Sunday.

More later...

Bob and I were going to go to Cherryvale to "Just Us"  for lunch. We got nearly to Independence when Bob's car developed a strange motor noise. We headed to Quality Toyota  to leave it for a "look see" on Monday. We stopped on the way at Eggberts so we could have dinner. We called Leslie, my daughter, to see if she could pick us up and take us back to Coffeyville.  We had dinner and then went on out to Quality Toyota. We left instructions for the shop in a large envelope provided there for after hours  problems and dropped the key in the envelope too. Then Leslie arrived to take us back to Coffeyville.  Bob will call them after 8:00 AM tomorrow to see what they found was wrong.

In the meantime, I got my newsletters finished and out on the mailbox for the mailman to pick up this afternoon.  Bob walked over  at 5:00 to read Sunday's newspaper and watch 60 Minutes with me. It was just reruns but we watched them. Then they had a special....another bunch of reruns. I took Bob home and then came back home to watch the Oscars. I stayed up until 11:00 to see who all won.  Chris Rock was the emcee. It was an interesting show...for a change.  I do not like Neal Patrick and would not have watched them if he had been the emcee.

At 11:00, Missy and I went to bed.
