Sunday Worship Trip

I got up at 4:00 this morning to get ready for the trip. Bob was to pick me up at 5:30 and then we were to pick up Phyllis at 6:00. She was ready and so we headed for the church where we were to meet the Tahoe with Leslie and John.  From there we went on to Neodesha where we picked up John and Sue. It was terribly crowded. The back three seats were on a bench and there was no room for our legs except to tuck them up nearly under our chins. Phyllis had to sit in the middle so she could extend her long legs. It was a long trip.

But the service was really good and the preaching was exceptional.  We ate at Applebees afterward and had a good time on the way up and back.

It was a long day but a good one.  We stopped at the Dairy Queen on the way back through Independence Kansas and bought Dilly Bars.

When I got home, Missy was really glad to see me. I gave her her treats and started working on the blog.  Now I will go take my bath and put my PJs on and let her lay on my lap. She's been good to be alone all day.

This is our Temple in Independence, Missouri. It's where the worship service was held.

Hi Margie, So nice to meet you. I am enjoying reading your blog and getting to know you. I am a retired minister in the United Methodist Church. Actually, I spent most of my career as the Minister of Christian Education. My calling was more in that area although I was the Associate minister (doing some preaching, visiting the sick/hospitals, etc.) during my last job before retirement. I enjoyed my work in all of the churches I served. Great memories...

I blog on Mondays and Thursdays most of the time --but do take blog breaks when we are BUSY. Hubby and I are really 'into' our flowers/yard---and our biggest joy are our ROSES (which should bloom in a month or so)... Right now, we have Irises blooming --and next comes the Lilies and Daylilies.

I love my Backyard Birds, and hubby and I love hiking and waterfalls.... We travel quite a bit --and just have an awesome life.

Sorry to read that you lost your hubby. I have another blog friend (Ruth) who lost her hubby to cancer a couple of years ago. It's NOT easy I'm sure...

Well--that's enough for now... So NICE to meet you. Please continue to come to my blog and I'll return to yours...

God Bless.
