Sunday..and Church

I will bake my coffee cake for the church school class this morning. Bob always fixes coffee and one of us takes a treat of some kind...he takes banana nut bread and I take this coffee cake. We take turns.

I slept well last night but got up shortly after 4:00. It's slightly after 5:00 now. I want to get a start on this blog before I go in and feed Missy and fix my own breakfast. Marilyn R. brought me two cinnamon rolls that she baked last evening. She is so good about sharing her fudge and now these cinnamon rolls. I will have one with my oatmeal.

I will get back to this after breakfast. Missy is waiting patiently at my feet for her breakfast...so more later....

I have now fed Missy and myself and have the coffee cake finished and iced. It's 7:20 now. I have written my rent check for tomorrow and my tithe check for today. As Bob said on his text a little while ago, I am ahead of the game now.  I got up early enough not to have to rush.

Missy wants to go outside now but it's too chilly out there now. This afternoon, if and when it warms up, I will take her out for awhile. I hope to drive over to Cherryvale to eat at "Just Us" after church.  If Phyllis is at church, I will invite her too. I think Karan is still in Kansas City visiting her daughter. She will be back this afternoon.

We take cakes this week to Independence on Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon we will have Bunco at the senior center. I will have Ministerial Alliance on Thursday at noon. Bob will be on his own for lunch that day.

Tomorrow we will have something with ground beef. I'm not sure just what yet. We had goulash last week. Maybe we will have hamburger pie this week with green beans in it and a salad. I have pudding to be made up for dessert and I still have peanut butter cookies to go with it. Tuesday we will eat out in Independence after I get my hair done. Wednesday we will have a roast and Bob can have the left overs for his Thursday lunch while I am at the alliance meeting. And Friday maybe we will have a ham and potato casserole.

After lunch today, I will come back home and do the newsletters before the Living the Questions group at Karan's this evening at 7:00.

More later....

I got everything done and even read this afternoon. Then this evening Bob came over to watch the news.  He left when I went to get Gary for Living the Questions. Joyce called when we pulled up to Karan's and  cancelled. Her allergies were bothering her. Mona and Richard didn't show either. There were only four of us but we had a good meeting and visit and Gary really seemed to enjoy it.   I took Gary to the Dollar General store before I took him home.  He needed a few things and he doesn't have a car.

When I got back home, I watched a little of Dateline before Missy and I went to bed. I had just got to bed when Bob called. One of the apartments upstairs at Sycamore Landing was on fire.  They were all out in the parking lot and the fire department was there. There was a chance he would have to come over and sleep in my den. As it turned out, they were able to put the fire out with extinguishers.  A man had put some chicken on in the skillet on low and then forgotten it and walked over to the VFW.

Bob later called and said there was some smoke but it wasn't bad and he was just going to go on to bed.  That was some excitement for those poor old people! Many are in wheel chairs.

Margie, I was thinking (which can be dangerous)--many your age have
life alert, but you are alert to life!

I hope so, Sister-Three. At my age, we need to be alert to life.
