A Very Busy Sunday

I got up as usual at near 5:00 and fed Missy and myself. Then I began making my coffeecake for the Church School class. When I finished that, I took Missy out for an hour and came back in when the coffeecake was cool and put a glaze on it. Bob came over to read the newspaper and then we left to pick up Phyllis for church. Karan was going to do some decorating for fall at church so she drove her own car.

Leslie's sermon was interesting and thought provoking. The service was good and we had fairly good attendance. Two families were out of town. After church, we went over to "Just Us" for lunch. Karan went with Becky to eat with John and Leslie and the little girls at Sirloin Stockade...a far cry for "Just Us". Becky has a two o'clock meeting with her square dance group and doesn't want to have to rush to finish lunch.

After Bob took Phyllis and me home, I did my regular Sunday Crossroads newsletters. When I finished that I ran to the market to buy stamps to mail them off.  Then I started my Apple Brown Betty for the Living the Questions group tonight here at 7:00. I have no idea how many will be here. It's been raining off and on all afternoon. It may be a smaller group. I had to borrow oleo from Marilyn R across the way. I simply did not have time to go to the market before I got that dessert in the oven.  What I thought was oleo was actually sour cream.

More later...

I was right.... but we had a very good discussion too. I had six instead of ten. Six is a nice small group though.

Before they came, I ran out to Walmart to get Cappuccino thinking Marilyn was coming. She had to cancel. She too had had a big day and she is not as healthy as I. I also stopped at Braums and bought vanilla ice cream to put on our Apple Brown Betty.  Everyone enjoyed the dessert. The Living the Questions group meeting broke up at 9:00 and I took my bath and checked the e-mail. Then I went on to bed. I was very tired.
