Sunday and Church

I slept until nearly 6:00  this morning.  I had stayed up later to watch an old movie. That helped me to sleep better.

I got up and got myself ready for the day and fed Missy and myself. I will go to church school and church this morning and afterward some of us will go over to "Just Us" for lunch.

I had an e-mail from my daughter this morning asking for my donation to the American Cancer Society. We do this each year in honor of my husband (and her father) who died in May of 2010 of advanced squamous cell carcinoma which had metastasized  all over his body before it was finally diagnosed. That is just one reason why I have my doubts about medicine and especially doctors.

More later...

I had a surprise again this morning. My cable bill went up from $83.02 to $89.42...again! It seems every year they raise the price but give just as poor service on TV. Last night, right in the middle of my movie, one of their commercials froze. I missed about ten minutes of the movie until they finally got it unfrozen. Cox Communication is just "asking" for me to switch to Dish or an antenna.  That's a raise of $6.40 a month AGAIN! Every year they raise the price but don't improve the offerings.

Six of us went over to Cherryvale to "Just Us" for lunch. As usual, I called ahead and had a table saved for the six of us. We got back to the church about 1:15 after lunch and dropped off Phyllis and Karan.

Now I will work on the newsletters for that part of the congregation that didn't show up. Later, about 6:40, I will pick up Gary for the Living the Questions group at Marilyn's house.  The only one I didn't hear from was Joyce. I imagine she could be deployed for FEMA now.

More later....

I spent the afternoon resting and I took Missy out for a little while while it was 70 degrees and sunny.

At 6:40, I picked up Gary for our meeting at Marilyn's and we had a nice visit with everyone. It finished later then usual but Gary really enjoyed it. He has very poor health...COPD ...and no car so he is stuck in his apartment  most of the time.

I got home about 9:30 and stayed up until almost 10:00. I took my shower and Missy and I went to bed. I was very tired.

When I come down this year, we can try Antenna, we are very happy with it here in Phoenix, we'll just have to see how many channels you get and the programming. its free and no more paying Cox 100.00 bucks to have commercials jammed down our throat, still get commercials but at least we don't pay them

Margie, I have decided I hate TV. They have no programming for our generation.
It all makes me ill if I try to watch. News now is propaganda.

BTW, Nancy is 81!

Hope you have a blessed Sunday.

So am I, Sister Three!

And Keith, we will have to figure out how to keep the Bose sound system with an antenna. I have had to program the Bose remote to get the great sound. But I do have an 800 number and they walked me through it to initially program the TV for it...bypassing Cox's remote.
