I had breakfast with my brother-in-law this morning and then went out to the nursery to get some more plants. I then went back to Orchelon's to get more mulch and dog food and to the Dollar Store to get some groceries. From there I went to see Phyllis. She was awake but had just had her toenails clipped by the podiatrist. I stayed about twenty minutes then went down to see Gerry. She wasn't in her room but I left the papers anyhow.
Then I went to the bank and by to pick up Bob A. We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival over to Cherryvale. It was quite good and we enjoyed looking at the vintage cars and tractors.
After that, we stopped downtown at their True Value hardware store. Leslie had wanted me to check out the bird baths there. They still had them. They are just beautiful and had a cardinal on the side. I checked the price for her and then we left.
On the way out of Cherryvale we noticed a real good restaurant was open again. It is called My Place. Gay and Tony and my Bob and I used to eat there quite often. Then they closed and we started eating at the Pizza Hut across the street. My Place was open again and Bob A. and I decided to have lunch there. He had never been there. They have a covered buffet with just about anything you want to eat. The man who waited on us told me that his wife had had a heart attack and that was why they closed but she is back to work now and looked real good. We had a fine lunch and the price, $10.00, included all you wanted to eat and your drink and dessert too. We both decided we would go back again.
Then I brought Bob A. back home and came home to mow and trim. I watched TV and rested this afternoon after that but went back out to finish my mulching this evening. The yard looks real nice now even if it does have a lot of weeds in it. When they are mowed close, they don't show as badly.
I took my shower a little while ago and and washed my hair. It had been soaked with sweat. I'll bet I sleep tonight.

Friday At Last
This is Friday and after such a slow week, I am happy to see it come. I am going down to Lowe's in Bartlesville after I get off work and buy my hanging baskets at $7.50 apiece. I need two for the front and three for the back. I will have to put my back seats down to accommodate that many. I got paid yesterday. I will also need to get some mulch this week if I am ever going to get those flowerbeds mulched. But I can get that here locally at Orchelon's.
I will go see Phyllis in the morning and maybe I will have better luck finding her awake. After that, I will go to the Cherry Blossom Festival at Cherryvale. That should be something neat to do on a Saturday.
My daughter finally called last night. She got very busy with her job on Wednesday and never got back with me. So I missed her at lunch. That was alright. I read my Kindle while I ate lunch.
My brother-in-law has a doctor's appointment there in Bartlesville this morning. We will try to meet for lunch at Garfield's. They have a real good little cranberry walnut salad there. I will also check in at Christopher and Banks for some summer tops while they are 40% off.
Next pay period, I will have to job hunt again. Once a month I have to turn in my sheet showing places where I have left an application.
While I was watching the roofers put the screening over my guttering on Wednesday, I noticed I have a rotted board up around the trim on my house. I called Richard but he is in Oregon right now. He will be back on Tuesday and will come over after that to see what he and Jeff can do to repair it. I sure don't want birds or squirrels in my attic.
I had the air conditioning man out to check over my system yesterday and he had a part to replace. I think I mentioned that yesterday. The place is beginning to fall apart. I will have to paint the trim on my patio cover when the roofers get that corrugated fiberglass roofing replaced. I have a lot of work to do around here.
The photos are of Inky, my outdoor cat and the flowers I bought today in Bartlesville. I bought four bags of mulch and got four flowerbeds mulched. I need at least three more to finish.
I'm going to give away or get rid of that old grill of Bob's. It's an eyesore!

Another Slow Day at Work
This was another of those days. Ill bet I wasted half my morning just sitting doing nothing. Toward the end of the morning she finally came up with a project.
When I got off work, I went to the Coffeyville Ministerial Alliance meeting. I was re-elected secretary/treasurer for the zillionth time. Oh well, it's like falling off a log after all these years.
After the meeting, Marilyn, Howard Judy and I went for coffee and dessert. Howard bought. That was a nice meeting and a nice visit.
Then I came home and the air conditioning man came and checked out my old air conditioning system. He cleaned it all up, replaced a part that looked like it could rust in two and spent a good hour here working everything over. I have no idea what this will cost. We will see. He keeps warning me that the entire system is original equipment and since the house was built in 1971m that means it could go kaput at any thing. It would take between $5,000 and $6,000 to replace the system.
That's about all I have in my savings.
Oh well, no sense worrying about it until it happens.
Nothing going on tonight. I got Bill a birthday card today and got it in the mail to him. I believe he turns 70 tomorrow. I also got him a book called "Love Wins" by Rob Bell. He's a great reader. I'll give him the gift at church on Sunday.

Beautiful Wednesday Morning
Another beautiful day. I have an appointment at 3:40 to get my hair colored and cut. I may go up early around 12:00 and go to lunch at Big Cheese. Then afterward I can walk around town and browse if it's still nice. I haven't been in their clothing store lately and she is going to close and retire this fall. That will be a shame. She is the last clothing store this side of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Small towns are struggling everywhere. Between Wal Mart and the malls in larger cities, their future is dim.
I hope Heather has more for me to do today. I hate sitting around doing nothing. Time drags.
Last night Scott called from Germany. His girlfriend is coming in for a ball. She will stay over the weekend. He is excited though. He is so lonely over there by himself. It was good to visit with him for 45 minutes.
More later...
I went to Independence after work and browsed around one of the stores there. While there the beauty shop called and moved my appointment up an hour. That was helpful. I called my brother-n-law and asked him if he wanted to go to Sirloin Stockade for dinner. He agreed so we went out to eat there. I ate too much but I hadn't eaten much since Sunday noon so i was pretty hungry.
When I got home the roofers were here and tried to fix the screens that covered the guttering. Some of them had split and were in pretty bad shape so I will probably have to order more at Lowe's in Bartlesville. Evidently the light hail we had Easter evening did dent my new vents. The roofer who climbed up there noticed they each had some small dents. He offered to go halves with me on the new guttering covers. I may have him pick those up.

A Beautiful Tuesday!
It's a lovely day today and I just noticed my first peonies are blooming and then I noticed my first clematis. So I am posting photos of them.
After lunch I will go see Phyllis and Gerry. I have some papers for Gerry and I am anxious to see how Phyllis is doing for myself.
My job is very slow right now. She is having me come in at 8:30 instead of 8:00 because she is late getting in herself and doesn't have anything planned for me to do.
I came home and fixed myself a sandwich but gave it to Slinky because it didn't appeal to me.
More later...
I went out to see Phyllis about 2:00. She was sound asleep. There was a man there playing the accordion and singing for them. I didn't stay long. Phyllis never woke up.
Then I went down to see Gerry and took her the newspapers. They have her on additional oxygen after she's walked a bit. Her oxygen level goes down. She was in her usual good spirits. Her son, Chuck, was there.

Back to Monday
Yesterday evening I was watching the weather channel when a car drove into my driveway. A woman I had met once was carrying a May basket for me from my daughter. I hadn't had a May basket since...I don't know when. But I thought it was nice that Leslie thought of me. I called to thank her and she was cleaning house. I wish I could help her like I used to by cleaning her house. I simply don't have enough time when I work in the mornings. I could do it on Saturday but then John is home.
My supervisor at work asked me to come in at 8:30 this week. She said she doesn't come in until 8:15 and she never has my work ready to go when I get there so I just sit around for the first hour anymore. So today I have a bit more time in my morning.
I slept well last night..only waking up once and then going right back to sleep. I dreamed of selling radio advertising. I sold radio advertising for fourteen years and was really pretty good at it. It was a strange dream. I won't go into it here.
Anyhow, I have a free evening tonight.
More later....
My eldest son, Keith, called later in the evening. He just got married on Friday. I wish him the very best of luck. He is a real jewel and they are lucky to have found one another.

Rain, Rain Go Away
Luckily I got my lawn mowed last evening because about 11:00 this morning it began to rain again. We had a fairly good crowd for church and afterwards nine of us ate out together at the new Italian restaurant. That was nice. I learned from my son-in-law that he named the puppy "Speck". That's appropriate because she has lots of speckles on the white part of her spots.
The service was very good. Melissa spoke and she had a very good sermon. Leslie, my daughter, presided and she did an excellent job.
I got my letters finished this afternoon and my granddaughter, Ashley, called and visited with me. That was nice too.
I have frittered away the afternoon.
Tonight we have the Living the Questions group at Lively's and Marilyn will lead it in a discussion of the Credo of the new book, "Misfits: The Church's Hidden Strength"
That should be interesting.
There were only nine of the 13 there tonight but the discussion was very good anyhow.
The fellowship of that group is excellent.
