We have been very busy today. We all four went to breakfast at Eggberts this morning. Then we came back home and later went to Mayfest while the kids took a nap. They went over as we were coming home. We had so much to eat at breakfast that we didn't eat again until 4:00 when Bob and I went to El Publito and had a light dinner. They are still gone. Keith's class was going to meet at 3:00 until 6:00 and it's only 5:25 right now.
Four years ago today my Bob passed away.
More later....
Bob left early. He was very tired. I took a shower and washed my hair. The kids came in late. My daughter called and said she had made homemade ice cream and if they wanted to come out after the class reunion, they would eat some of it. Of course they went. I went on to bed and didn't even know when they came in. I was out like a light. I will have mine at the dinner she is hosting on Monday evening.

Friday at Last
My son, Keith, and his wife, Esther, came in last night about 11:40 PM. I stayed up until 10:30 waiting for them but finally just could not keep my eyes open anymore. I went on to bed but listened for their texts that they had arrived. They unpacked the car and went straight to bed. They had run into two hail storms and also rain twice and that slowed them down. They are still in bed this morning and it's 7:40 now. I got up around 6:00 which is late for me. I am usually up by 5:00.
My son looks good and is very happy with Esther. They have just celebrated their third anniversary. She has been so good for him! Later, I will post some photos of them.
I got up and fixed a pot of coffee and ate my biscuit so I could take my meds. I am still taking my antibiotic even though my hand is nearly well now.
I will offer to cook for them or they can have cereal or oatmeal for breakfast. I don't know just what their schedule will be today. They brought me Esther's laptop so he may set that up for me. He has Windows 7 on it...thank goodness! I do not really like Windows 8. Bob has that on his. I guess it's all in getting used to it but I haven't had to deal with that. The desktop has Windows 7 on it too. He brought that to me several years ago. . This laptop of mine was bought in 2006 or 2008...I can't remember which. It has XP on it and XP has always done well for me. Now it no longer is supported by Microsoft.
I went outside this morning with my coffee and soon Bob came over with his. Missy was outside until the black cat from across the street came out and then I made her come in the house. She is lying here beside me in the rattan chair now. Bob went home to get ready for exercise class. I will skip it this morning since the kids are here.
Yesterday evening, Bob and I finished the mowing. We did the back yard. It was quite a job. I had mowed the front and east side the day before. The new landlord will only mow twice a month and the yard was looking pretty ratty. If we have to, we will mow in between their mowings. It's a shame they won't take as good care of their property as Wayne did. The filters in the furnace haven't been changed either. They were due May 1st. The air conditioning man was here this past week but he didn't do anything. He just walked around the property. I hope he didn't charge the new owner for service because he didn't give any.
More later....
The kids got up about 9:00 and we had a good visit. We invited Bob over for a light lunch. We will go out to John and Leslie's at 6:00 for hamburgers etc.
Keith spent the morning getting my Outlook mail program set up on the desktop and also getting the new laptop he brought me set up for me too. He even got it fixed so it will print documents in the den on that printer. That's neat. Now if I just fool around with this new laptop I will figure out how it works. I had him put Avast antivirus on it and it cleaned it up really well.
They went over to the Countrytime Antique Mall and then on to Caney to the Mayfest. They will come back and we will go to John and Leslie's tonight for hamburgers.
Bob went back home to taker a nap. I will take some photos later on and post them here on the blog.

Very Busy Thursday
My son and his wife are coming from Phoenix today. He called yesterday and said they were leaving Phoenix one day later then they thought. He was late getting back in the states from Italy, where he spent the past four weeks with the Air Force Reserves.
I went to Bobby and Karan and Richard's party last night. Bob didn't want to go so I took a veggie plate and went alone. There were about 30 people there and everyone seemed to have a great time. There was lots of food but I wasn't hungry so I just had some tea and a few veggies.
Here are some photos of the party: These are the people siting at my table. I didn't know them. They were some of Richard's friends. This was a karaoke party and many people sang with his machine. The woman sitting at the end of the table is my friend, Gretchen.
. The man at the machine is Richard. He and his daughter sang quite a lot. They are pretty good.
These are my friends Bobby and Karan. They hosted the party. They have a lovely patio with a fire pit. Richard and his son, Jeff, built it some five years or so ago. Richard and Jeff, his son, are very talented carpenters.
This is another Richard. He and his wife are a part of our Living the Questions small group.
This is Mona, Richard's wife, in the hat and Marilyn siting next to her and I believe that is Pat, one of Karan's friends who is also a neighbor, sitting with them.
These are some of Richard's friends that he invited to the party. The woman in the pink blouse is the only one I knew. Her name is Regina. I will post some more of the photos after dinner. Right now I need to start lunch/dinner.
The woman in the middle is the only one I knew. Her name is Irene. She turned 90 this year. She looks very good for 90. The others may be some of Karan's neighbors.
This is Becky (sitting down) and Judy. Judy and her husband, Howard, moved to California last year. They were back for a visit. They used to be in our "Living the Questions" small group.
This is Becky and Mona singing.
This is Keith. Keith did some of the cooking. He will have an 80th birthday next week. I don't believe I have a photo of his wife, Joyce. She must have been in the house.
That's about all I have that are not too dark. Anyhow, I had a good time and sang the comic rendition of "After the Ball Was Over" with Karan.

Keith and Esther Coming
My son, Keith, and his wife, Esther, are to leave Phoenix this morning and drive 18 hours straight through to my house. I wish they would drive half way and stay overnight in a motel. Otherwise, they are going to arrive exhausted. But they will do what they will do. We will see.
This will be a busy day. We will have exercise class this morning and then I will come home and fix lunch. Leslie sent me home with some of the brisket she fixed for Sunday's basket dinner. I will fix some brown gravy and cut it up into that. Then I will fix mashed potatoes to put it over and some veggies. Bob will bring a salad. . I have some butterscotch pudding for dessert.
My cat bite from Missy is starting to heal. The swelling has gone down and it is no longer bleeding. I will take my antibiotics for the rest of the week...seven days in all.
It took all afternoon for the garage to finish John's truck. We left it at around 1:00 and picked it up at 4:15. It was too late to finish the bank work. We got the campgrounds account finished but never got to the congregation's account. The bank was closed when we finally got there.
After lunch, I will do some cleaning. Then I will go to PINCH at 5:30 and on to Richard's party at 6:30. I will pick up a veggie tray at Country Mart. If my kids drive straight through, it will be midnight before they get here. I will have my phone though...just in case.

Tuesday With My Daughter
Today I will go to Independence to get my hair done and then on to my daughter's to go with her to get John's brake job in Bartlesville. She is taking the day off to run errands. We will stop at Caney and change the church's bank account information and both of us will sign new signature cards for the changed account.. Bank of America around here has sold and we will be dealing with a new bank....Commercial Bank, I imagine. I did get the church's debit card activated yesterday.
Then sometime around noon we will eat lunch together.
I slept fairly well last night. I awoke two or three times but got back to sleep and slept until 6:00. I have slept well on the daybed trundle. I washed the sheets on my big bed yesterday. It is now ready for my son and his wife when they come.
My hand is feeling better this morning after Missy bit me yesterday. I got a tetanus shot and also some rather expensive antibiotics to take for a week. I also soaked it in warm epsom salts water for thirty minutes last night. That made it feel better. .
My flowers are doing well, despite the wind. The winds the past two days have been gusting at 45 miles per hour. but so far, so good. My bulbs that Leslie gave me for Mother's Day are in full bloom. I still need to get some more mulch if the wind ever lets up. I only used what I had left from last year.
Missy wanted out this morning and I went out with her. She ate some grass. Then a tom cat that is colored just like her, appeared across the sttreet and I brought her in.
They need to mow here again this week. If the new landlord doesn't get it done today or tomorrow, Bob will go get his mower at the church and we will mow before my kids get here on Thursday or late Wednesday evening.

Monday Again and Exercises
There's not much going on today except for the exercise class.
I was petting Missy while we were still in bed this morning and she grabbed my hand with her paws and bit me on the left hand. It drew blood between my thumb and forefinger in that skin between them. I remember what Dr. Barta said about Missy's bite last year when she got into that fight. He said cat saliva is very toxic and that's why her bite then got so infected so I will call him this morning when he opens and see what he thinks I should do. It bled quite a bit but after trying four bandaids, I finally got one to stick. I had some three antibiotic ointment and used that on it too. I whopped her on the behind when it happened and bawled her out good so she knows she's done something bad. I've always said if she ever bit me she would take a trip to Dr. Barta's and not come back home. Now I'm not sure what to do.
We will go to the exercise class at 9:00. Afterward I will fix dinner. We will have some of the brisket John and Leslie sent home with me from the dinner after church yesterday. I will fix some brown gravy for it and mashed potatoes and a veggie and Bob will bring a salad. I have some butterscotch pudding for dessert.
This afternoon I may make those peanut clusters for Greg and Bobby. I will give some to Bob too. Greg fixed Bob's mower without even charging him so that's why we are giving him some. Bobby helps me with anything I would usually call a handyman for and I can't do anything else for him. He won't let me pay him. He loves candy.
More later...
I called Dr. Barta, Missy's vet, about the bite I received on my hand. He said it was a 95% chance it would get infected and recommended I see a doctor. I saw the nurse practitioner and that's what she said too. I got a tetanus shot and a prescription for some really high powered antibiotics that I am to take twice a day before meals. When I got home it was 11:30 and Bob suggested we go eat at Sirloin Stockade today and have our meat meal Wednesday. So that's what we did.
Then we stopped by V & S Variety and rented a DVD, "The Butler" ...that should be good tonight.
More later.....
"The Butler" was a pretty good movie. It took us through the days of the civil rights conflict. It's amazing that we white people could be so racist as we evidently were in those days. It was terrible being black before now. Actually, it's still a problem to them even today in many places.

Sunday and a Basket Dinner
We will have guests today at church. I hope our people come out well or we may be embarrassed. Sometimes we have a fair sized congregation and other times it seems our people just find something else to do on Sunday.
I have been up since 5:00 and most of that time I have been cooking. I made a potato/chicken casserole and a large dish of caramel bars. I finally got everything out of the oven and now I am trying to get my offering ready and finish this blog. It's 8:00 now. While I was waiting to get the food out of the oven, I read the paper and then took it over to Bob. He will take it to church for John, my son-in-law.
I slept well last night. I awoke at 3:00 but after visiting the bathroom, I went back to sleep. Missy slept well too. She is lying here in the chair next to me...sleeping. Cat's sleep about 85% of their lives away.
This will be an extremely busy day. Tonight we have Living the Questions group at Bobby and Karan's. I have to bake some beans for that cookout later this evening. Howard and Judy will be there and we will have dinner. I would have had the meeting here but I don't have room for all the extra people who will be there in my small living room and certainly don't have seating for all of them at my tiny round table. With the leaves, it will seat six but there will probably be 13 there..perhaps 14. .
More later...
The worship service was nice! We had a fine dinner too. I didn't have much to bring home. I do have a few bars. I am now fixing baked beans for the dinner tonight at Bobby and Karan's house. It's 3:15 and I have my congregational letters finished and out on the mailbox. Their dinner is at 6:00. I sure don't want to eat much. I generally just have a fruit smoothy for dinner after a good sized lunch.
I've also been to the market and bought a few things. Maybe I can get a rest before the beans are done.
More later...
We had a good time at Bobby and Karan's. The chicken was good. Everything else was too. And we had a really good discussion over the material on the DVD. We only have one episode left so I don't know what we will watch next.
We got back home about 9:00 or so. I took my bath and went right to bed and to sleep.
