How disgusting! I have my class reunion planning meeting this morning at 10:00 and it's raining. Furthermore, Bob and I had planned to go to Joplin afterwards but not in this rain! I wonder if anyone will show up for the meeting at 10:00. Probably not!
It's also supposed to rain tomorrow and we have church. We will probably have a small congregation.
I didn't sleep worth a darn last night. I awoke at 2:00 AM and that was the last of my sleep.
We are to have thunderstorms next weekend too and we have a trip to Independence, Missouri planned for that Sunday. What bad luck!
My son, who just got out of the army March 1st after 24 years in his career had some good luck yesterday. He got a real good job doing what he had been trained for in the army.
More later....
The class reunion meting went fine and by the time it was over the skies had cleared some so Bob and I went on to Joplin and I bought some new sheets for my bed at T J Maxx's. We had soup and salad at Olive Garden too. We got home about 4:00. We enjoyed the day.
Later that evening he came over for wine and to watch the news. We watched a movie in TV and then he left. I took my shower and washed my hair and put my PJs on and Missy and I sat in the recliner and watched TV for awhile before going on to bed.

Friday Again Thank Goodness
It's Friday again and we're getting rain today and tomorrow. Sunday, it should be fair. I have lunch all fixed. It's leftovers from yesterday. We'll have our spaghetti again with the coleslaw and garlic toast. Bob and I hope to go to Joplin tomorrow after my meeting (if the rain permits) and I want to buy some sheets at T J Maxx. We will eat at Olive Garden there first before we go shopping. I went to exercises this morning but my phone rang and I spent the entire time listening to Elnora tell me about her troubles with her niece. Elnora will meet us at Independence, Missouri, on the 26th to attend the worship service our group of the mission center will hold. It will be good to see her again.
When I came in from Utopia, Missy was in my chair and now is in the one Bob uses. She gets cat hair in them and we have to use a roller to clean them up afterward. After the exercises, a group of us goes to Utopia every other Friday because they make cinnamon rolls that Friday and I order coffee and a cinnamon roll. They are fresh and really good.
I wonder what Katie will have for me to do today. They kept me fairly busy yesterday with on job after another. It helped that Paula wasn't there. She may or may not be there today.
More later...I should start warming up lunch.....
Warmed up lunch was still very good. But we still had some left over which we gave to Bobby and Karan.
I went on to work about 12:45 and spent the afternoon looking for something to do. I shelf read, put away DVDs, and put away newspapers. There just wasn't enough for me to do.
There was a drive by shooting toward a house next to the Subway shop on the highway. When I went home from work, I saw tape all around that house. I understand two are in the hospital. We have a twice weekly newspaper so we have no idea what that was all about. The paper comes out tomorrow but undoubtedly the deadline was over and they had already gone to press.
Bob will come over tonight for wine and to watch Brooks and Shields on PBS. I need to eat some yogurt before he comes so I'd better wrap this up.

Thursday and Cleaning Day
I will do some cleaning this morning then start lunch. We will have spaghetti and meat sauce and coleslaw and a veggie for lunch. I may thaw some fruit for dessert. I need to bake some cookies. It's been awhile since we've had cookies.
I tried to get, Angie, the woman at Asbury Village to bake the cake for our 80th Birthday Bash next month but that is Independence's graduation weekend and she has ten cakes scheduled already. She was to call me back after her work to discuss baking it on Friday but she never did so I will ask Wal Mart to do it, I guess. I don't know anyone else in town who does that. This Birthday Bash is a problem for me since I have the wedding the very next weekend. I could order it from a bakery in Independence but then I would have to drive up there to pick it up. That might be a time problem. I don't know whether Utopia does special order cakes or not but I will ask them tomorrow. We will go there after exercises tomorrow for cinnamon rolls and coffee.
I hope Katie has a project for me today. I hate to spend more then an hour shelf reading.
Well, I got rid of the old hangers I replaced with good ones last weekend. I donated them to a charity here in town. Also I got the name of another woman who might bake our 80th Birthday Bash cake. I have to contact her this afternoon after she gets to work. I wasn't given her home phone. I also arranged for the space for the breakfast on the following Sunday at Sirloin Stockade. Little by little its coming together. The planning meeting is this Saturday at 10:00.
More still later....
Paula didn't show up today at work so I did her work and my own as well. Katie wasn't there either. I left at 4:50 and was very tired. Bob came over at six and had wine and popcorn with me and stayed for the Big Bang Theory. We both agree it has lost it's pazazz. I believe this will be their last season.
I have taken my bath and will try to find something to watch on TV until 9:00. Then I will go to bed.
The landlady sent a man to mow this evening. He did a job but missed strips of grass from place to place. Before Bob left, I asked him to start his mower and I cleaned up the mess the mower left.

Wednesday and Exercises
I slept well last night and got up at 5:00 AM. This morning we will go to exercise class here and then on to Independence for some wonderful Chinese food for lunch. They have a great Chinese restaurant called Great China and it is! Every once in awhile we go up there for lunch. It's been awhile. Tomorrow we will have spaghetti and meat sauce with coleslaw and garlic bread here.
I did laundry last night and folded and put it away this morning.I still have to empty the dishwasher. I will do that right away. I spent the early morning reading a magazine. I will send that home with Bob and he can give it to his daughter.
More later...
We really enjoyed our lunch at Great China. I got home in time to get to work on time. I spent the afternoon putting away DVDs, putting away new books in the new book section and shelf reading. There is nothing more boring then shelf reading. I left at 5:00 and got home to eat some yogurt for supper.
Bob came over to watch the news and have wine then he left at 7:00 and I took my bath and Missy and I sat in the recliner and watched TV until 9:00 when we went to bed.
Not much going on.

Tuesday Hair Day
Thank goodness I get my hair done today. It looks terrible thanks to the wind and rain. I slept until 6:30 this morning. I don't know how long it's been since I've slept past 5:00 AM. I must have needed it.
It appears we will have rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week. Bob and I planned to go to Joplin after my class reunion planning meeting on Saturday. I wonder if it will rain over there. I want to buy some sheets. Missy has torn my sheets with her claws getting up under my coverlet when she wants to hide. I would only use the new ones when Keith and Esther come in May for Scott and Ginger's wedding. If Dean stays here with me the weekend before that, I will use them for him too. I will just sleep in on the trundle while he is here. Dean is one of my classmates and we are having that 80th Birthday Bash the weekend before the wedding. May will be extremely busy. The Tuesday after Memorial Day, I fly with Aime to Texas for the SER National Convention. I will be gone the rest of that week.
My appointment is at 9:30 this morning. When I get home I will fix lunch. We will have chicken tenders and mashed potatoes and gravy and a veggie. I still have Bob's salad in the frig. I also have fruit we will have for dessert.
Then I will go to work.
More later....
Dinner turned out good!
I went to work and spent most of the afternoon putting away DVDs. I also did some shelf reading. Katie had me transfer some microfilm from one drawer to another. Then we spent a half hour trying to get that drawer pulled out. It had been damaged in the move from the Journal to the library. Sarah and Katie finally gave it a mighty tug and it came out. I put it on top of that cabinet to store until we get the genealogy room finished and we can move those drawer cabinets in there. Then we will get rid of the cabinet with the broken drawer and reorganize the microfilms.
When I got home Bob came over and stayed for the news and wine. When he went home I took my bath and put my PJs on and watched that awful program on PBS about the holocaust. How Iran can deny it ever happened is beyond me. There's no way those photos could be staged!
I got to bed about 10:00.

Monday and Back to Work
Well, it was a short weekend. Even though I only worked two hours on Saturday, after spending the afternoon with Myra in Bartlesville, and then mowing when I got home, it was a busy weekend. Last night we had a good group at Living the Questions. Only Joyce was missing. She called before I left for Bobby and Karan's to say she had been sick all night and wasn't up to it. I was glad she didn't try to come because all of us are old and we don't need to pass anything evil around. We had a good time though and a really good discussion. We did miss Joyce. It will be awhile before we meet again. Bobby and Karan are going to Nauvoo to do some free work for the church. They will be gone three weeks. Marilyn left this morning for Colorado with Pat. She and Pat will be gone a week.
Missy wanted to go out this morning...as usual. But it was raining and she could find no grass to eat (besides I had mowed on Saturday afternoon) and she likes the old grass. The tips must be more tender. It is supposed to rain all week except for Wednesday. So it won't take long and she will find plenty to eat. She soon wanted back in and that was fine. I wanted to journal on this blog.
Leslie gave me some of her wonderful meatballs from the dinner yesterday so we will have those with fried potatoes and the leftover corn casserole and a salad. I still have cherry pie cake and ice cream for dessert. I took the cherry pie cake to Bobby and Karan's last night in hopes of getting it eaten but I brought some home.
I had a surprise after lunch. I went to get the cherry pie cake out of the frig where I had put the dish and when I opened the lid, the dish was empty. Evidently the group last night did eat all of that dessert. That was fine. :) We had a dish of vanilla ice cream for dessert....with chocolate syrup.
More even later ......
I spent most of my four hours this afternoon putting away the DVDs that were checked out over the weekend. I am really tired. There's really nothing on TV tonight so I will read.

Sunday and A Basket Dinner
Today, at church, we will have a guest minister and afterward, we will have a basket dinner. It's been several months since we've had a basket dinner. I have a corn casserole and a cherry pie cake in the oven. Now I can sit down and work on this blog/journal. I let Missy out this morning but she was skittery and came right back in. She must have smelled that male cat that came over yesterday morning.
Rand Paul, Republican candidate for president, interviews poorly. For one thing he has changed his position (to be elected the candidate first of all and to be elected president at some point). He used to say he did not see Iran as a threat, that he would give illegal workers who would be willing to work, green cards, and ending foreign aid even to Israel. Now he has changed his view altogether. He sees Iran as a threat, and would not allow any amnesty for illegals at all. He would not end foreign aid to Israel. He did this to be conciliatory to the Republican party...to be their candidate for president. He also gets testy when questioned by woman reporters. That's not smart.
I will vote for Hillary. I have read her books. Also, she is smart and has a lot of political experience In fact Bill says she is more intelligent then he is. She knows the issues. We know she has better morals then Bill. It is time for a woman president.
Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush will be Rand Paul's biggest competition.
More later......
The dinner was good. There were not as many there as I had hoped for but those we had enjoyed the services and the dinner afterward.
I have worked this afternoon to put out my weekly newsletter and get it ready for the mail. I send it to those who have e-mail as e-mail and the others I put in the snail mail.
