Saturday and a Possible Concert

I slept well last night. Of course I took an allergy pill to control my sinus drainage. That's a part of the secret. I was up once during the night and took my meds then and got right back to sleep.

I brought the laptop computer in the living room and turned on the TV to catch "the weather on the 8's". I am watching for the cats but so far...no cats. It's 36 degrees out there according to the laptop computer. It's 6:41AM  now. I am eating my breakfast in here in the living room now.

Still no cats but I did catch the weather forecast. Today is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. Sunday is to be 62 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 65 degrees and cloudy and windy, Tuesday is to be 51 degrees and AM showers,  Wednesday is to be 50 degrees and rain, Thursday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy, and Friday is to be 44 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! It looks like we may get some much needed rain.

And I say a "possible" concert for a reason. I called Sally twice yesterday afternoon and left her a message both times on her home phone to please call me about the arrangements for the concert drive. If she doesn't get hold of me to make the arrangements today, I won't drive down there at night by myself..so if she doesn't get a hold of me today, I just won't attend the concert. But I won't buy tickets next time either.  I will hope she calls me today and that she will drive this time.  I am not driving a 15 year old car down to Bartlesville at night by myself. That concert will probably not be over until at least 10:00PM.

More Later....

Sally finally called me and said she had not been home and that's why she couldn't be reached. She had a meeting tonight at the YMCA before the concert and she wanted me to drive my own car down there alone. I told her I did not like to drive at night alone. She then said she would come home after her meeting and pick me up and we would drive back down there for the concert and she would drive.  I had told her I hated for us to have both our cars down there at the same time. When she gets out of her meeting, she will then come back to Caney to pick me up. I know that sounds inconvenient but it is her turn to drive us both. She says her meeting is mandatory and she has to attend. 

I went to the library before it closed today and checked out two more books. 

It's  beautiful sunshiny day today...56 degrees too. 

I had some Sprite with my lunch today but I had almost no ice to put in it. Leslie had brought the Sprite and some chicken noodle soup when I was sick Wednesday. I told Stephen I didn't think the ice maker was making any ice...or at least very little. I found one cube in it. He said if it couldn't be repaired he would replace it. I am going to keep an eye on it and see if at all it is going to work at all.. Generally I don't need ice except in the summer.

Sally did drive and the concert was very good. We got back home about 11:15PM and I took my bath and will go on to bed as soon as I finish this.

I am planning to attend the Betterment meeting at the City next Thursday and see if I can be any help to the committee.

 

Friday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept pretty well last night except for the sinus drainage. I finally got up and took an allergy pill. That dried things up and I was able to get back to sleep until 5:00AM..my usual time to get up. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day. Thursday is my usual day to clean the apartment but we were gone to Tulsa for my hearing test yesterday and so I had to put it off until today. It seems I will be getting my new hearing aids in a couple of weeks. We will have to make another trip to Tulsa to have them adjusted to my hearing loss. They will be Starkey hearing aids.

I will fix my breakfast in a little bit and eat it here in the den. After 6:00AM, I will check on the cats and "the weather on the 8's". 

I am also doing my laundry this morning.

I caught the weather forecast after I ate breakfast. Today is to be 43 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 56 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. Sunday is to be 60 degrees and mostly sunny. Monday is to be 63 degrees and cloudy and windy, Tuesday is to be 51 degrees and showers, Wednesday is to be 52 degrees and rain, Thursday is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy. It looks lie we can still expect some rain this next week.

I got my laundry washed, dried, folded and put away. I will wait awhile to start my mopping and vacuuming.  It's only 6:57AM.

Blondie came for his breakfast, and he ate and left. I left the cat food out there for awhile wondering if Scruff would come eat but she didn't ...so I finally put it away in the garage and covered it.

I went to Dollar General and bought a few things I can't get at the Caney Market. The Market is not open until later now that they have the new manager. On my way home, Toni told me she could do my hair at 11:00AM  So I will go over to Coffeyville to get that done . It looks terrible now. It's been over a week since it was done. I am so glad she thought of me.

I saw that pretty white cat again this morning. I don't know where it belongs. Before yesterday, I had never seen it before. It is very pretty but it must be someone's pet.

I will clean the apartment after I get home. 

I got my hair done and bought a couple of things at Wal Mart that I needed. Our market wasn't open when I was ready to leave so I bought my Coffeemate and coffeecake mix at Walmart in Coffeyville. I stopped at Sonic on the way home and bought a small cherry limeade slush.

Then when I got home I decided to go on down to Copan Restaurant and have a small chef salad. It hit the spot!

I got the mopping finished and also the vacuuming. It's 3:30PM now.

The vacuum is charging now. All I have to do now is dust. I may start that this afternoon and finish it in the morning. I am pretty tired now.

The sun is shining brightly now. I see it's 40 degrees out there.

More Even Later. 

I will start the dusting in the bedroom and living room. 

I got the apartment dusted and am now finished and ready to take my bath  and read some more.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM as usual. It's only 6:08PM now.

 

Thursday and a Trip to Tulsa

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I was up only once in the night and took my meds and went right back to sleep. I did have one small bout with the diarrhea but it was nothing like yesterday.  It's almost 6:00AM now. I never did get the weather forecast yesterday but that was because I was sick. I am fine now...thank goodness.

I will fix my breakfast shortly and check on the cats too. They didn't get fed at all yesterday so they probably ate birds or someone else fed them. They may not have eaten at all. I will check on them first and feed them if they are out there.

More Later...

I checked twice and the cats were not out there. I will take the laptop computer in the living room after I have my breakfast. That way I can check on the weather and the cats too. I didn't get the weather forecast yesterday either.

I got the weather forecast right away. Today will be 49degrees and partly cloudy, Friday will be 44 degrees and sunny, Saturday will be 49 degrees and AM clouds and PM sunny,  Sunday will be 53 degrees and partly cloudy,  Monday will be 63 degrees and cloudy and windy, Tuesday will be 51 degrees and shadows, Wednesday will be 49 degrees and showers. It looks like we may get some much needed rain this week.

This time both cats were out there and there was even a block and white cat out there. I ran it off. It was in my garage when I went to close the doors and I certainly did not want a cat in my garage. If I don't want Scruff or Blondie in there, I certainly don't want a strange cat in there. 

I see Phil is predicting 6 more weeks of winter. I hope he's wrong. It's 6:38AM now. And this is February 2nd...the day for our trip to Tulsa to see if I can get the two new free Starkey hearing aids thanks to the Neighbors in Need program from the Starkey Hearing Aid Company.

More Later...

Leslie and I just got back from our trip to Tulsa. It appears I may get my free hearing aids. It will be a couple of weeks until we have them and then Leslie will take me back down to Tulsa to get them adjusted for my hearing loss. 

When we got back to Caney, we stopped at Mr. G's and each got a flurry. I ate mine as quickly as I could. :) It was was so good!

Now I will read for awhile.....I had started the first of the two books I got from the library here yesterday evening.

Suzanne had been here and brought me more newspapers for the animal pound over at Coffeyville. They use  lot of them.

Wednesday and Sick

I woke up at 1:00AM sick to my stomach and with runaway diarrhea and dry heaves. That happened four times in the night. When I finally woke up at 5:30, I had another bout with the dry heaves. I will have to call Toni after awhile and tell her I can't make my 8:30AM hair appointment. I am too shaky to drive over there and besides I may be contagious. I am going back to bed now.

I don't feel any better but so far no more diarrhea or dry heaves. Of course, I haven't eaten anything yet and it's 10:04AM. I did make the bed..after a fashion...and put my robe on too. Leslie was going to drop by on her way to Bartlesville to take Mini for her grooming but she had too much on her plate today to drop by here first, She will come by on her way home.

I am still very weak. 

Leslie brought me some chicken noodle soup for lunch and I ate some. Then she and Mini left. Mini had had her bath and was very clean.and I read the rest of the afternoon and finished my last book. It is 4:39PM now.

Tomorrow she and I will go to Tulsa to try to get the hearing aids from the Neighbors in Need from Starkey. I hope the weather is decent.

Tuesday and Reading

I slept like a log last night! Didn't wake up but once and got right back to sleep after that and slept until 5:00AM..my usual time to get up. I made my bed, dressed  and got myself ready for the day. It is18 degrees out there and I opened the door to a very cold tom cat..Blondie. I took his food out to him and he ate very quickly and left. I haven't seen Scruff.  I will leave the food out there for a little while in hopes she will still show up to eat. 

I am waiting for "the weather on the 8's" forecast to come on the TV now. It may come on in a couple of minutes.

I don't have anything planned for today but to finish my book. Bunco has been cancelled for tomorrow and I only have my hair appointment on for tomorrow at 8:30AM. 

Scruff did show up to eat and is eating now. I am glad I left the cat food out there. She must be very hungry. She ate quickly and left.  I will bring the cat food in the garage and cover it up soon.

The weather did come on and we are forecast for 25 degrees and an inch of snow today.

36 degrees and mostly cloudy tomorrow, Thursday is to be 48 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 43 degrees and sunny,  Saturday is to be 54 degrees and mostly cloudy, Sunday is to be 58 degrees and mostly sunny, and Monday is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy and windy. Again...no rain...just an inch of snow today.

I am having my breakfast now..here in the den. I took the cat food in the garage and  covered it up as I planned.. Scruff was finished and undoubtedly very cold.

I  am drinking my coffee now and have finished all the rest of my breakfast. I made some broccoli cheese soup yesterday and had a bowl of it with crackers for my lunch. I will have it again today at lunch time.

It's 11:53AM now and I have been reading all morning. I will have a bowl of that soup in a little while. I got some mail but it was mostly spam...nothing I am interested in.

I will check my e-mail and see if there's anything of interest there. 

More Even Later... 

I finished my second book. I had taken the first one up to the library and put it in the book drop, I will drop the second one in the book drop in the morning. I will need to get a couple of more books tomorrow. I am out of anything to read now. 

I am going to take my bath now and put on my pajamas and robe. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM. It is 6:33PM now.

Monday and Shopping With Nancy

 I slept pretty well last night primarily because the time I woke up at 1:00AM my sinuous' were draining down my throat and also clogging up my nose. I got up and took three Melatonin tablets and still could not get to sleep so I took an allergy pill too. That helped and I finally got back to sleep until almost 5:00AM and woke up feeling more rested. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. 

It's 5:44AM now and I am ready to fix my breakfast, check the weather and the cats. I will be going down to Bartlesville this morning to take Nancy shopping for clothes.I dread that. The only other time I tried to shop with her,she wasn't interested in trying on clothes. She only has one outfit she can get into now since she has gained 20 pounds eating that fattening food they serve there at the assisted living. And she mostly sleeps and that doesn't help. I will give it my best shot though. I want her to buy three outfits. I will take her to the shopping center just east of Lowe's. There are three clothing stores there we can shop.

Now I am going to fix my breakfast and will get back to this after I eat something. I see it's 18 degrees out there. Brrr.

I got into the living room and turned on the TV and opened the front door to see Blondie waiting at the same time. I let him wait a minute until "the weather on the 8's" came on at the same time. I took my weather photo and then went to get his food. I put it down right in front of the front door and he dug in. He didn't waste any time eating as fast as he could and left to go find shelter from the temperature. Scruff didn't even show up this morning. 

Today is to be a high of 26 degrees and mostly cloudy,  tomorrow is to be 26 degrees again and cloudy, Wednesday is to be 37 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 50 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 47 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 55 degrees and sunny...again, no rain. It's 6:33 now.

I went down to Bartlesville to see Nancy and take her shopping for some new clothes. She wasn't feeling too well and I wasn't sure if I should take her after all. She dressed and by the time she got dressed it was sleeting down there. We went over to Maurice's to look for some nice jeans and shirts but by the time she tried on several pair of jeans, she felt even worse. She was very dizzy. For one thing, the woman who once wore size 8 short, now can't get into a size 16 short. They are feeding them way too much starchy food at that assisted living. She has gained somewhere around 20 or 25 pounds in the year she has been there. It's tragic. Then it began sleeting in earnest. There was ice on the ground and I helped her back into the building and then back to her room and she went back to bed. I told the woman at the front desk to have the nurse take her blood pressure. She is very dizzy.

I came on back home. There was no sleet or snow in Caney. Bartlesville is only 17 miles south of here yet the weather is so different.

Sunday and Church

I slept fairly well last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.  I worked a bit on my sermon again this morning. Just wanted to get everything in order. I had downloaded the Doctrine and Covenants of our church from Amazon and found it was provided free of charge.That's strange...but I won't complain.  The church's site told me that's where I could get it. I downloaded it on my old Kindle so I would have it when I need a section for a sermon. I didn't want to buy a hard copy of it. It would be just another book to store that way.

I think I am better prepared today. I went through my material and numbered the pages. That should help with my organization and make it easier to find where I am in the service. I am presiding as well as speaking.

I want to catch the weather forecast and see if the cats are out there too.I won't be called upon to speak in February. I am really ready to retire from that responsibility. and the cats may be out there ready for their breakfast too. Sure enough! They were there. I fed them and they ate and left. I went over to church a little early so I could go to Woodshed and buy gas. It was $3.19 a gallon. Higher again! The service went alright although I got mixed up again even though I had a bulletin and also had numbered my pages. Phyllis and I ate at Eggberts and enjoyed a good visit. It's 5:05PM now and I will get back to my book.

It's 7:00PM and I will take  my bath and put my pajamas and robe on and read until bedtime at 9:00PM. I hope I sleep better then I did the past few nights.
