Saturday and Laundry

I slept well last night and was up after 4:30AM, stripped my bed and am washing my towels and pajamas too. It has been awhile since I did sheets and it is time.

I opened the front door to find Grey looking for breakfast. I took it out there. 

I  am trying to learn my new TV card. It is pretty difficult. But I did find the English instructions on the back of the  card with the Spanish instructions.

I found "the weather on the 8's" and will copy the photo I took when it was on.

Today is Saturday and it is supposed to be 55 degrees and partly cloudy , tomorrow is to be 64 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 69 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 69 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy. One day of rain this next week and that is Thursday.

I got the laundry done, the bed changed and the rest put away. I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to Independence to the Dairy Queen. But she wanted to go to Gabbies for lunch so I changed my plan.We will meet at 12:30PM. at Gabbies.

I finished my Coffeyville book and will take it to the library tomorrow and put it in their drop box. Then I went to Caney's library and checked out two more books. 

It will take me most of the week to finish those. 

The white cat came for it's breakfast too. So I fed it too. They are all gone  now.

Friday and A New Remote

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:30AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am trying to learn the new TV remote and  card Bo installed yesterday.  I got "the weather on the 8's" with it.You simply press a button and speak into the remote and it takes you to whatever channel you want. You press O.K. after you speak into the remote. If you are not sure of the channel you need, you can just tell the remote what program you want. And with this remote you can even record any program you want. You can do that week by week or have the TV save entire weeks of the program you don't want to miss.  If I can just get it learned, it will be great and also convenient.

Once I get it learned, it will offer me all kinds of options.

When I opened the door this morning,  Blondie was waiting for his breakfast. When I got his and went  back to the door, Grey was out there too. So I fixed another bowl and took it out to Grey. By then Blondie had finished eating and left.

We had quite a storm last evening. We were under tornado warnings here at Caney and the sirens were blasting. We had hail and lots of wind.There was a tornado just west of Caney.

I haven't heard whether it ever touched the ground. I was in my clothes closet. The only area in my apartment that has no windows. 

There was a similar situation over at Coffeyville...twelve miles east of here.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Thursday and A TV Repair Today

My television has been down since Tuesday. It has to do with my Tivo. This happened once before a couple of years ago and Cox sent a man out to fix it. It was the Tivo then too, He was not familiar with the way to fix it but he called someone who was and that person walked him through it.and he got it fixed just fine.

I hope this technician will be able to fix it and I will still be able to use the Tivo. I use it every day recording something..sometimes more then one program.

When I opened the front door, Grey and Blondie were both out there looking for their breakfasts. I took each of theirs out there, Blondie had evidently been in a fight with a dog. He had some huge chunks taken out of his fur. When I set their breakfast out there, he started howling pitifully. I put their bowls separate a foot to a foot and a half away from each of them. He settled down then and ate, Grey was frightened of him because of his pitiful howls. He certainly looked pitiful. 

When I went back in the living room, both Grey and Blondie were gone but soon the white cat came to eat on what was left in the bowls. 

Bo, from Cox Complete Care, came this morning and installed a new card in my TV that eliminates the Tivo altogether. It is very simple and is very affordable. He stayed an hour and got everything set up and showed me how to use the TV and record without a Tivo. It would not be any more expensive and will available in one remote. I can record anything I want to watch and I have dozens of new channels to watch. It will cost $120. a month but will eliminate Amazon Prime. I can get anything I want to watch with their new card.

I called Sally to see if she had had  lunch yet and she had not. I asked her if she wanted to go to Copan Restaurant for lunch and she thought that sounded good!  So I will go pick her up now. It is 1:51 PM so we are late but Cox had been here all morning

 More Even Later... 

1. I will need to make some questions to ask Bo when he calls me Monday. For one thing I need to know how to get the red light turned off on the TV when you turn the TV off. I can get the lower  red  light off my using my former remote but that doesn't do anything for the red one under the TV picture.

2. I need to know what button to push to get the picture to come up. I think it's the channel button but after all the excitement this evening, I am not sure. I will ask him.

I spent 45 minutes in my clothes closet while we had the tornado warning. It was the only area in the house without a window.

It's 7:45PM and raining and I am going to take my bath now.

An Appointment Today at the Senior Center

I slept pretty well last night although with no TV I did miss "the weather on the 8's".  The Cox man will be here tomorrow between 10:00 AM and 12 Noon. Hopefully he can fix the TV. I was up at 5:00AM as usual and tried to read but three cats came for their breakfasts so that kept me busy. First it was Grey, then Blondie and last of all the little white cat. I miss "the weather on the 8's" but it can't be much different from yesterdays.

I am trying to read one of my old John Grisham books. I am not having a lot of luck with it since the cats are here non stop for their breakfasts. 

I was up early as usual. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I had a piece of coffeecake and two cups of Chai Latte for my breakfast. 

When it opens I want to go to Dollar General. I need Kleenex since I am about to drown with my allergies and also need some more cat food. Both the dry and the wet. It's 6:43AM now. I also have my 9:00AM hair appointment in Coffeyville. Then I have an appointment at 1:00PM at the Senior Center in Coffeyville.

My allergies are about to drown me and I have to get something to dry me up. I have gone through several boxes of Kleenex. While I was there, Cox Complete Care called and wanted to come today instead of tomorrow to fix my TV.  I told him I was in Coffeyville and had an appointment at the senior center and would not be home until late afternoon. He wanted to come today instead of tomorrow.  I told him I talked to Cox yesterday and told them I would not be home today. I would be in Coffeyville and I had told them that when I talked to Cox yesterday and they gave me an appointment for Thursday between 10:00 and 12:00noon.

He was not happy. He wanted to come today but I did not want to come back home until after 3:00PM. That's why I made the Thursday appointment. 

When I got home I called him back and asked him if he would like to come then and he said he was not available that late. I thanked him and we hung up.  Undoubtedly he will not be a happy soldier tomorrow. But I had specifically asked for Thursday since I had my appointment in Coffeyville .

My nose ran all day and I went though a pack of Kleenex and I sneezed constantly. I called the drug store and asked for a recommendation of a generic med. They recommended Clariton so that's what I bought. They told me to take one tablet every 24 hours. I think I will take it at night so I can sleep without my nose running constantly and sneezing.

My allergies and all this drainage is driving me crazy.

Lunch at Copan Today

I was up at my usual 5:00AM this morning and made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I checked for cats at my front door but for awhile there were none there. Then finally I saw grey out there and took that cat's food out to it.

Then "the weather on the 8's" came on and I took a photo of it to put on this blog.  Today is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 69 degrees and partly cloudy and Thursday is to be 66 degrees and  is to be rain and thunderstorms. Friday is to be 60 degrees and thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 54 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 62 degrees and sunny and Monday is to be 70 degrees and sunny. That's the week...two days of much needed rain!

I will go check on the cats now again.

Sure enough! Blondie was out there this time and I took him his breakfast. He is eating now!

The little white cat finally came for it's breakfast so I took it the new dish. It ate and left. That may be all of them today.

I looked at my calendar and saw that the day for the cookies is next Tuesday...not today. I corrected my calendar and the title of this blog too.

Monday and Cleaning

 I slept well last night. I only woke up once, I was up at 5:30AM and dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door both Blondie and Grey were out there waiting for their breakfasts so I fixed them and took them out. They ate and left. I left the food out there for awhile in case the white cat came to eat.  

I even caught "the weather on the 8's" for the week, Here it is Today is to be 76 degrees and  partly cloudy and windy, tomorrow is to be 67 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 67 degrees and cloudy and Thursday is to be 69 degrees and thunderstorms,   Friday is to be 57 degrees and rain, Saturday is to be 55 degrees and partly cloudy and Sunday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, That's the week! Two days of rain! That we really need!

And sure enough! The little white cat did come to eat. I fed it and when it was finished, I took the food in and covered it. 

At noon or thereabouts I decided to go to Independence and eat at the Pizza Place. It was closed so I ended up going to the dairy Queen. It really wasn't that I wanted but it was what was available. I ate and then went out to Walmart and bought Chai Latte and a treat for Wednesday's Bunco game.

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I got my coffeecake in the oven and it is out and baked now. It is cooling so I can put the glaze on it. 

The cat I call Grey came for it's breakfast and soon after Blondie and lastly the little white cat came to eat. They are all finished and gone now. It is good to have three again.

I also saw "the weather on the 8's" Today is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, tomorrow is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Tuesday is to be 66 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 69 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 65 degrees and thunderstorms, Friday is to be 57 degrees and rain. Saturday is to be 57 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week. A couple of days of rain is better then nothing at all! So rain Thursday and Friday anyhow.

More Later..I need to get the glaze on the coffeecake .

I got the coffeecake finished and glazed. 

Then  I drove over to the church  and we had a very nice service. Leslie, my daughter was in charge. It was a communion service and she did good job.

After the service I just drove on home. Phyllis was not there so I didn't have lunch.

Now I will do my letters and then get back to my book.
