Saturday and Apartment Cleaning.

I awoke in the middle of the night and could not get back to sleep. So I just got up at almost 5:00AM. I will go make my bed and get dressed now and check on Blondie, the ferrel cat, after that.

More Later...It's 4:45AM now and 60 degrees outside. 

I just caught "the weather on the 8's" but so far Blondie is not out there. Here's the weather though.

Today will be 90 degrees and sunny, tomorrow will be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 74 degrees and showers, Tuesday is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 76 degrees and cloudy, Thursday is to be 73 degrees and AM showers, and Friday is to be 76 degrees and Partly cloudy.  That's the week...some rain, thank goodness!! Monday and Thursday. We need it badly!!

I took my walk about 7:05AM and got back at 7:37AM. I got some trash but not a lot. When I got back home I put what I had in my trash receptacle.  I took my umbrella but it didn't rain. It sure looked like it might though. That's why I took the umbrella. I put the book I finished last night in the book drop at the library. I still have one to read. But I need to do some cleaning today. I will start with mopping the bare floors.

I got the apartment cleaned and then I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to lunch at Gabby's. She did and I went and picked her up and we had a good and cheap lunch. Then I took Sally home and decided to go on over to Coffeyville and get John's birthday gift.  His birthday is September 14th. That's next Thursday, And I got that taken care of too. Then I bought the rest of a tank of gas at Woodshed. On my way out of that. I stopped at Sonic there and bought a medium cherry limeade slush and drank on that on my way home.

Now after I finish getting this up to date, I will go back to my book.

I finished the second book and took it back to the library drop box. 

Then I went up to Mr. G's and got a butter pecan flurry. That was my supper. He now has ice cream again. He must have gotten the freezer repaired at last. It's 6:43PM right now and as soon as I finish this I will go take my bath.

Leslie is speaking at church tomorrow. I imagine Phyllis and I will go to Eggbert's after church and have their parfait...if she's in town. It's 89 degrees now.

Friday and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for our Area.

I was up around 4:30AM. I had a problem sleeping later on this morning. Finally I just got up, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. The TV says we are under a severe thunderstorm warning...mostly in the Parsons/Galesburg area. But we are included.

I caught "the weather on the 8's" too.

Today is to be 91 degrees with isolated thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 90 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 89 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 73 degrees and Rain, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 77 degrees and partly cloudy,  Thursday is to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy. That's it for the week. We may have rain today and Monday. We sure need it. The river is nearly dry. I have nothing planned for the day so far.

So far, no Blondie. I've checked twice but it's only 5:33AM. It's still early.

I jut checked again and Blondie was out there waiting for his breakfast, I took it out to him and he is eating now.

Blondie ate quickly and left and I brought his bowl into the garage and covered it again, Then I took my walk. I got back home at 8:13AM. It's 70 degrees out there ...very nice. Maybe fall has arrived after all.

More Even Later...

I took my last book back to the library and dropped it in the book drop. I had read all morning and finished the second one too. Then at 11:30AM or so I drove up to Independence and went to Big Cheese for a mini pizza and a root beer. On the way back I decided to drop in on Leslie and see if she would visit awhile. She did. I stayed a  half hour or so and then I left. I knew she had a lot on her plate with her new responsibility. I just miss seeing her every once in a while. I usually just see her on Sundays since she has taken on her new responsibilities. She used to occasionally ask me to go somewhere with her. She doesn't have that much free time anymore.

When I got home, I went to the market for some flavored water. Then I went by the post office and sent Sage's birthday card and gift to her. Her birthday is not next weekend but the next. John's is the 14th and hers is the 17th of September. I will get John's gift certificate next Sunday.

I went to the library again when I got home and checked out two more books. I started reading one of them.

It's 91 degrees this afternoon. It's 4:07PM now.

More Later....I read all afternoon and finally finished one of the latest books. I will take it to the library drop box in the morning. That will leave one more to read.

Gay called me this evening and wanted me to go to Tulsa with her on Monday to pick up her sister and brother -in-law from the airport there. They had been visiting their children and grandchildren in Houston.  We will meet at Coffeyville at 12:30 PM for lunch at El  Pueblito and then go to Brown Shoe Fit Company so she can get some new shoes. From there we will go on to Tulsa to pick them up and come back to Coffeyville at El Pueblito to pick up my car. Then I will drive back home.

I took my bath at 7:00PM  and went on to bed at 9:00PM.

Thursday and Another Sunny but Cool Day

 I slept well last night and was up only once to take my two meds. I was up at 5:00AM as usual, dressed and got myself ready for the day.  I did catch both Blondie and  "the weather on the 8's". I fed Blondie and he got his fill and I went out and petted him. He likes to be petted. He is one of the friendly feral cats. He is almost tame. Soon after that he left. Then I caught the week's weather.

Today is to be 94 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Saturday is to be 90 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 88 degrees and mostly cloudy, Monday is to be 76 degrees and showers, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and mostly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy.  It looks like at least one day of rain....Monday..we can really use it! It's 6:42AM now and when it gets a little lighter, I will take my walk. It's 60 degrees out there.

I don't believe I will go see Nancy today. Last Thursday when I went she was completely out of it. I don't even think she even knew who I was. She couldn't stay awake even when we went out to the patio. In the last few weeks she has really gotten worse. She was not at all lucid. It's tragic! 

It's 60 degrees this morning and I just took my walk. Very nice morning! Not much trash this morning. ..just a little. But I put it in my dumpster when I got back home. 

My smart phone finally died yesterday evening. I hate that. I always wore it to bed because I could tap on it and it would light up and I could see the time. I always wear the one Leslie gave me in the daytime.

I am thinking of going down to Bartlesville to meet Sally for lunch at the Boulevard Cafe. I could also wash my car. I didn't get it washed at all last week.

Wednesday and a Hair Appointment

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I have dressed and got myself ready for the day..made my bed and even fed Blondie. He is eating now I have had my breakfast bar and am about to have my coffee. I even caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 90 degrees and sunny. tomorrow is to be 93 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 93 degrees and  sunny, Saturday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy, and Monday is to be showers and 77 degrees and Tuesday is to be 79 degrees and AM showers. Finally...some rain!!!Monday and Tuesday in the forecast!!

It's 5:33AM now. I will start for Coffeyville and my hair appointment at 8:15AM.. I will take my library book to read. I may go back to the urgent care. I am out of meds and I still have a few patches of shingles.

It's 8:00AM and I read instead of taking my walk. Now It's too late...my appointment is at 9:00AM   My walk usually takes about 40 minutes and it would make me late for my appointment in Coffeyville. If it remains cooler I may take it later..

I will take my walk in a little while...maybe this even  the afternoon.

It still a very nice day. 74 degrees, in fact. I had hoped my lawn would be finished mowed today but maybe Mike doesn't intend to mow it again...who knows. It's cool enough I could do it myself though.

And that's what I did. I mowed the west side this morning while it was cool. Then I went out to Sonic at dinner time and bought their kids Wacky Pack..chicken strips and french fries and a small Coke. It was $2.18, and very good! 

Then I went to the market and bought flavored water and two TV dinners.

While in Coffeyville I also went to the Urgent Care again and got the nurse there to write me another prescription for the meds that treat the shingles. I hope  this round can be the last one. I picked it up at Caney Drug. Then I went in the Chronicle office and wrote Kathy a check for $45. for another year of my subscription.

I finished the first of the two books I checked out at the library this week. I walked up to the library this evening and dropped it into the book drop.

When I got back home, I took my bath and will start the second book this evening. It's 6:50PM now and the temperature is 87 degrees. I think it's beginning to cool down some for fall. At least I hope so. The mornings are pretty nice. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM or so...depending on how tired I get.

Tuesday and Cookies

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I even caught "the weather on the 8's" early here at 5:53AM Today is to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy. Wednesday is to be 91 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 95 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny, Saturday is to be 92 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy and Monday is to be 81 degrees and showers!  Maybe we will finally get some rain here in Caney.

It's 72 degrees here now. 

I checked for Blondie but he was not out there yet. It's only 5:58AM now.

I will stop by our church and pick up Karan's cookies and then go on to Independence and pick up mine and Mikes and Billie Jo's at the market across the street from the First Christian church.

I left for my walk at 7:00AM and got back at 7:45AM. There wasn't a lot of trash but I put what I did get in my trash receptacle. It's 77 degrees now I am sure glad I got the back yard mowed yesterday morning. When I left for my walk it was sprinkling so I took my umbrella thinking it might really start raining.But it didn't. It just sprinkled for half the walk. I folded the umbrella and just carried it the rest of the way.

I did hear from Karan that she put her cookies in the frig at church. 

That's good. I will leave for the church at 8:30AM and that will give me time to go to the market across the street from the church there in Independence and get the rest of the cookies. It's only 7:57AM now. So I have a little over thirty minutes before I leave.

I got the cookies delivered and got back home at 10:13AM. Now I want to go to the library and get a couple of books.

I don't know whether Mike is coming or not so I went ahead and mowed the front yard. It looked pitiful and it was a handful to mow it was so long and so thick. It's 88 degrees now. I am glad I got that  done earlier then that. If he does decide to mow, he can do the west side. It's a bear. I can do the front and the back but I always have to dread doing the west side. It's a lot bigger.

Sally and are are going to Copan for lunch. I need to mop my face before I go pick her up. Mowing made me sweat.

When I got home I went to the library and checked out two books and have been reading one of them.

I talked to Denise on the phone. She had been to the doctor/hospital..and had a port put in for her chemotherapy. I told her I had her put on our prayer list at church. I hoped she wouldn't mind and instead she thanked me. I told her I would send her a bulletin after it came out Sunday.

Our Priesthood retreat is September 15th and 16th. I will ride over with Karan like I did for the 75th reunion. I was happy to get to go with her since my car is so old, I hesitate to take it.

I have been reading in one of the library books I checked out this afternoon.

It appears the temperature is 92 degrees now and mostly sunny. It's 6:54PM at 7:30PM I will take my bath and put my pajamas on. We are forecast for rain later this evening and perhaps some hail too. I don't want to go to bed until the rain starts.

Monday and Laundry

I slept fitfully last night and first woke up at 3:00AM and had a hard time getting back to sleep. I got up after that and took some of my meds and another Melatonin and then finally got back to sleep until  6:00AM.

I am doing laundry and it is in the dryer now.

I don't have much of a plan. It's like to go back to Bartlesville and see if I can find the jeweler who set my smart watch. I would also like to mow the back yard. I am not sure if I can get the mower started but I may try.

Blondie came for his late breakfast. He is probably gone now. He was eating really fast when I last looked.

I wonder if my mower, Mike, will come today. He didn't come at all this past week.  It really needs mowing. It's only 7:20AM now and if it is dry, I may mow the back. It's the smallest area. I might check it out and see.

I took my walk about 7:47AM and just got back home at 8:55AM. I had a half bag of trash. I put it in my dumpster. I notice the trash is being dumped this morning even though it's a holiday. I also put Stephen's out there too. I noticed he has some cardboard boxes he's broken down in his dumpster. I usually check his when I pull mine out to the curb.

It's a nice cool morning. The computer says it's 79 degrees and partly cloudy. 

I mowed the back yard while it was still cool out..79 degrees. I won't mow anything else because it's 84 degrees now. I may go on to Bartlesville and see if I can get my smart watch set. If I still have time, I may meet Sally at the Boulevard Cafe for lunch. ..actually breakfast. I didn't eat anything for breakfast this morning. I just had my coffee and Chai Latte.

Sally didn't work today  and the jewelry store wasn't open either. So my trip to Bartlesville was for nought. However I called Sally from the Boulevard Cafe and asked her if she wanted to go to lunch and she did. She wanted to know if the Dairy Queen would be open and I wasn't sure but I said we would check because that's where I wanted to go too. 

When I got back to Caney I picked her up and we drove to Independence. Sure enough, the Dairy Queen was open and we got their $7.00  special with a hot fudge sundae.

After I took her home, I came on home myself. It was 1:54PM by then.

I read this afternoon and finished my last book. I will donate it to  the Caney library tomorrow when I take my walk. Then I may get a couple of more books from the library.

I went to the Dollar General store and got some cat food and  also some more Melatonin. I also got some peanut M & M's.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and then watched a program on the weather channel.

At 8:49PM, I was ready to go to bed.

Sunday and Church

 I slept well last night and was up at 6:00AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. Our church has dismissed today for the holiday and the fact that most of the congregation will be gone for the holiday.

So I plan to go to the church near me here in the newer addition. I did that the last time we dismissed church for a holiday and they had a very good service. The name of the church is "Cornerstone"...

When I opened the front door. Blondie was waiting for me..very hungry for some reason. I fed him and he ate his fill and left. I plan to take my walk in a little bit. It's 6:56AM now and I just caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 97 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 97 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 99 degrees and mostly sunny,  Wednesday is to be 94 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to bee 96 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday is to be 95 degrees and mostly sunny and Saturday is to be 91 degrees and partly cloudy...that's the week..mostly sunny and hot, hot, hot!

I got back from my walk at 7:53AM. I was a little later because as I was walking down "State" street I found three dumpsters tipped over with the trash scattered nearby. I set the dumpsters up and picked up all the trash and put it back in the dumpsters. It looked like a big dog may have dumped them over because many of the trash bags in them were torn open and it looked like something had been looking for food.

I did attend the Cornerstone church here in Caney. Everyone was very friendly and one family asked me to sit with them. The sermon was very good and they served communion there too. On the way out Keith and Barbara Rogers came and greeted me. They live in the house Bob and I built in 1975 and another Caney couple bought it from us and later Keith and Barbara bought it from them as a rental...

After Church I went to Eggbert's here for lunch.  They were packed but they had one booth empty so I took it. Soon after, some ladies from Cornerstone church came in and there were no free booths so I invited them to share mine. They did that and introduced themselves to me. We visited as we ate. The brother of one of them was married to Nancy Fitchel, one of Leslie's good friends from high school.

Soon Sally came in and I invited her to sit with the three of us and she did.  When the other two finally left, Sally finished her meal and took part of it home for her supper.  We left at the same time.

I read until 7:00PM, when I took my bath. Then I read until I finished my book and then at 9:00PM I took my Melatonin and went on to bed.
