Saturday and Still No Dusting

I slept well last night. I ordered a new battery for this laptop. I have given up on the notebook. After I get the new battery and it is charged, I will just unhook it from the cord and take it into the living room with me. I hope that works out.

I have had my breakfast and am working on my coffee now.

Today, I really must dust. I have put it off as long as possible.

I have finished my breakfast and will go check out the weather and the cat situation now and get back to this later.

I fed Scruff and she was the only one out there this morning. When she finished eating, I took the food in the apartment.

I have watered all the plants. I still haven't seen  the weather. It must have been on while I was watering. I have put the solar kitty out this morning to get some rays.

Blondie came for breakfast after all. Luckily I had only taken the food in the kitchen so I set it out for him. He ate what he wanted and then went to find shelter before the rain begins. It's just sprinkling now.

I finally saw the weather. It's supposed to rain this afternoon and tonight and even tomorrow. I started to trim the yard but the battery went down on my trimmer after just a short while. I have it on the charger now. I may not get the trimming finished if it rains like it's forecast. Also I brought the solar kitty back in.

More later...

I trimmed the hedge this afternoon after I had my dinner. I am waiting for the battery to charge on my trimmer so I can finish the trimming on the yard.

I warmed up the dinner I got Tuesday at the market here in Caney...meatloaf, mashed potatoes and  green beans and a biscuit. It warmed up well and I am full. I had some punch with it. This afternoon I went to the market and bought water and juice. I also bought that can of tomato bisque the manager ordered for me. Then I came back home.

I have read another free Amazon book all morning and finally stopped at noon to eat my lunch. I finished that book. It was called "Chocolates With a Side of Murder". I have two more to read before I can download more. One is called    " Cozy Up to Blood" and the other is "Cozy Up to Murder". Both are by Colin Conway.

I got word from Amazon that my new Dell laptop battery will be here on Monday. Then after I get it in, it will have to charge it before I can use it without the electric cord.

I saw that the battery on the trimmer was charged and decided to do that before I dust. If it rains, I can still dust... where, if it rains, I wouldn't  be able to trim so I decided to do the trimming instead. That's done now for a couple of weeks.

It's1:25PM now and I guess I'll go back to reading. It's either that or dust. I guess I'll read and rest up.

At evening we had a heck of a storm...lots of thunder and lightening and a lot of rain. We were under severe storm warnings but they were mostly south of here. It finally cleared off. I had brought the hanging plants in and when it cleared up I took them back out. Now I hope for no more storms until morning. I have tried to protect my hanging plants but another storm like that one will ruin them..especially if I am at church when it happens and especially if there is hail along with it.

I have fed Scruff this evening and the big yellow cat that lives across the street on State came but Scruff refused to let him eat. She could be pregnant. She's pretty small everywhere but her tummy. It looks suspicious.

I watched the weather all evening until 7:00PM when I took my bath. I guess I will read until bedtime. I never did get the dusting done today.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Friday and Dusting

I slept well last night and was only up once. I got up at 5:30AM and got myself ready for the day. I have had most of my breakfast....all except my oatmeal and I am starting on that now. I am almost out of juice so sometime in the next few days I will have to go back to the market. I have enough leftovers from yesterday's dinner to just warm them up in the microwave and eat that for lunch.

I just set the solar kitty outside to gather some rays when the sun comes out. The yard is supposed to be mowed this afternoon. I am almost out of cash again since I put the mowing money in an envelope for the mower. I think I have $10.00 left in cash. I usually just use my debit card to pay for groceries and gas.

I need to dust today. Everything else was done yesterday. I do need to put the filters back in the vacuum sweeper. I wash them and leave them out to dry overnight each time I use the vacuum sweeper.

It's 6:38AM now and I need to go turn on the weather and check on the cats. So more later...

I am so glad to have the notebook back so I can use it in the recliner. It's a little slow now but maybe it will get faster with use.

I may call Cox complete care to see if they can make this notebook a little faster. It seems very slow and it charged all day and all night. Still it's good to have it back. I don't have to go back to the den and sit at that laptop. I can sit at the recliner and watch the weather and news.

I have put away the cat food. Only two of the cats came for breakfast...both yellow cats....Scruff and Blondie. They finished eating quickly and were gone.

More later....

I got some cash just in case I need it before next Sunday or even Wednesday.  Now I will try to call Nancy and go to the market.

I tried to call Nancy but just as I connected. the phone hung up. I tried three times but couldn't reach her so I went over to visit . I took her some strawberries and some of that banana nut bread I had taken to Bunco on Wednesday.

She wanted to go to Eggbert's to eat so we did that. She bought lunch as usual...at least she had intended to. I stopped by my place and gave her the strawberries I had saved for her and some banana nut bread I had left from Bunco too. I ended up giving $10.00 toward lunch as she didn't have as much cash as she thought. After we went back to her house we visited awhile and then I had to come home because my mower was to be here to mow at 2:00pm.

The young girl got the yard mowed and I paid her. Finally I decided I wasn't going to have a phone if I didn't find out what the problem was so I went over to US Cellular to have it fixed. Some scammer had downloaded a couple of apps that were taking over the phone. The manager there delete them and I had my phone back.

Then I started  to use the notebook Keith had just fixed and it shut down again with an error message that said that had happened to keep it from overheating. So, once again, I don't have a laptop computer I can use in the living room on my lap. I think I will replace the battery on the laptop Scott gave me and just use it.

Always something...now I have another message on my phone telling me I have won millions of dollars. I know a scam when I see one. I deleted the message.

I never did get my dusting done. I will do it tomorrow.

More later...

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read until 10:45PM when I went on to bed.

Thursday and Cleaning

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself dressed.  By 6:30AM I had my breakfast eaten... all but the oatmeal and am ready for the day.

I will check the weather as soon as I finish my oatmeal. I will also check on the cats. None of them were here for supper last night.

I saw the boy across the street last evening and went over to apologize to him about losing my temper when he was throwing firecrackers on my drive and aiming Roman candles toward my roof on Sunday evening. He accepted my apology.

Today I will mop the floors and maybe get started on the vacuuming. If I wear out, I will finish it tomorrow.

I read until 9:45AM and then watered all my flowers.  The rain we were forecast for yesterday evening never materialized. The plants needed water and I swept off the front walk.

Scruff came for breakfast and later Blondie came too. I am down to feeding two or three cats...all blond. There are no grey ones or black ones anymore.

I contacted Krystal about the mowing and she agreed they would do it tomorrow afternoon. They are not forecasting  rain until possibly Sunday. I told her tomorrow would be fine.

Now I need to do the mopping and perhaps start the vacuuming too. Then I need to go get milk at the market. I am nearly out. I may get my lunch there too. I am really tired of frozen dinners and that's all I have in the freezer.

I changed the furnace filter and have put a fresh one in and I have mopped the bare floors and am ready to run the vacuum. I may not get that all finished today but if I don't, I can finish tomorrow. I wear out awfully easy anymore. Too much sitting around reading, I guess.

I guess I will go to the market now and vacuum when I get back.

I got my milk and bananas and also a dinner from the deli. For a little over six dollars I got meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cream gravy and green beans and a biscuit. And it's so much I can have it again tomorrow. I can hardly beat that. Everything was piping hot. I will warm it up tomorrow in the microwave and have it again. I had some strawberries I had fixed earlier this week and I had some of those for dessert. I have plenty more for tomorrow too.

I tried to call Nancy but she didn't answer the phone. She is either in the beauty shop or in bed. I don't know which. I will try again later.

Now that I am full, I had better begin vacuuming before I wear completely out.

I got the bedroom, hall and den vacuumed and I am down in the back now and will rest. All I lack is the living room and dining room rug. I will rest awhile and see if that helps. If not, I will finish tomorrow and dust then too.  It's only 12:15PM and maybe I can finish if I rest awhile now.

I got everything done but the dusting and I can do that tomorrow. I got the dining room rug and the living room finished. I am really tired now. It's only 1:57PM. I may just leave the dusting until tomorrow. I may look for something to watch on Amazon Prime. I am tired of reading. I have read two of the three books I downloaded two days ago.

I am watching the CBS news now. It is 5:46PM and I am using the notebook Keith worked on for me. I charged it all afternoon but it wad very slow coming up when I booted it up. I am hoping this is only temporary and it will get faster loading up .

It's nearly 6:00PM now. I plan to take my bath at 7:00PM and go to bed at 9:00PM. All I have planned for tomorrow is to dust the apartment.

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well last night and was up later this morning. I think it was nearly 6:00AM before I got up. I made my bed and dressed and made myself up ready for the day. I am eating my breakfast now and it's 6:30AM. That's late for me.

I want to be in Coffeyville by 9:00AM for my hair appointment.  It's at 9:30AM but Toni likes me to be early. If she finishes her workout early, she will take me early. Then I have to fool around until noon and eat something at Sonic for lunch and Bunco at 1:00PM. I usually get a few things at Walmart and gas but I did that on Sunday after church. It will be a long morning. I will take my Kindle and read at the senior center.

Now I want to check the weather. We were supposed to have rain today but it doesn't look like rain yet. The forecast may have changed. Then I will check out the cats and see if any have come for their breakfast.

So more later...

Blondie and Scruff were here for breakfast. I watched the weather and later the CBS news. As soon as the cats were finished eating I took their food back in . I watered the hanging baskets and also the flowerbeds before I left for Coffeyville. I also took a photo of my latest finished jigsaw puzzle and the tore it down and put the box in the car. I will take the ones I have finished to the senior center.  I had to get the card table and chair put away so I could clean the apartment tomorrow and Friday.

I got over to the beauty shop early as I had planned and Toni got me right in. After she finished with me  I went out to Walmart to get a few things the market at Caney doesn't have. Then I went by the doctor's office and gave them my new supplement information. I will make an appointment for September later and have them check my blood work then. That will be my once a year checkup. I had an appointment in March but during the pandemic I decided not to go. Now the new Delta variant is spreading like wildfire where people are not vaccinated.

Then I went to the senior center and read until time for Bunco.

At 1:00PM, I went on in to Bunco. We played until 3:00PM and I had a good time. Neither Marilyn or Karan were there but Michele and her mother, Belva,  were, so we had plenty to play. They voted to have a second Bunco game the third Wednesday of the month too. We will do prizes for that one. David gives money for prizes for this one the first Wednesday of the month. He thinks it's easier to play for money then to try to find suitable prizes for under $20.00. It's $10.00 for the most Buncos, and $5.00 for the most wins and $5.00 for the most losses. (I had the most losses). Anyhow the fellowship is good too and I always go over on Wednesdays for my hair appointment anyhow.

The upholstery people had finished all the recovering of the chairs in the game room and the plaque was ready to hang as soon and the board decided where to hang it. I took photos of the chairs and sent them to Diana. She was delighted with what they did with the $500. she had sent the senior center for all the happiness her dad had there with the fellowship he found there during exercise classes. He was the chairman of the board for at least three years before he died. When they get the plaque hung, I will send her a photo of that too.

I got home about 3:00PM and read until evening. I watched the CBS news and  took my bath about 7:00PM and went to bed about 9:30PM after I finished my latest book.

Tuesday and Laundry Today

I slept better last night and until nearly 6:00AM.  I am washing sheets as well as towels today.  I stripped my bed this morning and changed to clean sheets and fresh towels. Everything is ready to go into the dryer now.

O.K. That's done!

I am eating my oatmeal now and drinking my coffee.

I heard from Dean this morning and he and Rod are doing well.  Dean is doing rehab now to correct balance problems and he says it is working.

It is 7:21AM now and I have yet to turn on the TV for the weather or check out the cats. We are not due for rain until tomorrow so I will also continue to water all the flowers today.

More later...I deadheaded the hanging baskets and fed two cats...Blondie and Scruff. I will start watering after they eat and leave. I was correct...the rain will be coming tomorrow....when I go to the beauty shop to get my hair done and stay for Bunco in the afternoon at 1:00PM. That goes on until 3:00PM. I will take my umbrella. That's for sure.

It's 8:15AM now. I have finished my Chai Latte and the dryer is signalling that the laundry is dry. I'd better get it out and put away.

O.K. the laundry is folded and put away. I also put the cat's dishes away. They were both gone.

Now I will watch the news. It's 8:37AM now.

I watched the CBS news and when it was over  I watered the hanging plants and also the flowerbeds. That should hold them until this evening.

I will try to call Nancy to see if she wants to come over this afternoon and watch  "Hidden Figures".

I tried to call Nancy and her caregiver answered the phone. She said Nancy was still asleep....It was 10:05AM

So, more later....It's 10:27AM now.

I just went out to Dollar General and bought a few things I can't get at the Caney Market. It's 10:46AM right now. I got them put away and have a large sack of saved plastic bags to take to Genesis tomorrow in Coffeyville. They always really appreciate getting them.

Nancy just got up at 11:27AM and called me back. She is not feeling well and thinks she had better stay home today. She said when she felt better she would call me and would watch the movie with me. I'm not holding my breath till she calls but will pick her up if she does.

More later.. I'm going to go get some lunch.

I went out to Eggbert's and had my usual chicken salad, fruit and muffin. I like to have that about once a week. It makes a healthy lunch...probably better for me then a frozen meal.

May be an image of indoor

I worked off and on all day on this puzzle but got it finished in one day. It's 9:40PM now and I haven't had my bath yet. I will get that done and then go to bed.

Monday and No Laundry

Last night was a nightmare. The cherry bombs, Roman candles and pop bottle rockets went on for hours and the noise was deafening.  Finally, at 10:30PM, it stopped and evidently the kids ran out of fireworks and went on to bed. I was exhausted with the entire week of noise. They even threw some firecrackers on my driveway. I tried to run them off but to no avail. I just ended up making a fool of myself. Some larger cities have passed ordinances to keep the fireworks to just the 4th. Hutchinson is one of them.

I think I will do laundry tomorrow. I need to change my bed then too.

I went out and picked up all the firecrackers off my drive and swept off Brandon's drive. It was completely covered in the grass from his mowing. I knew if the wind came up, it would be on my drive next. I would have blown it off with my blower but I figured that would wake up the neighborhood.

Scruff came for breakfast this morning and later the neighbor's cat ran him off and ate some of the food I had put out for him. He is still out there eating on it.

I read all afternoon and had a frozen lunch and then watched "Hidden Figures", the second movie Scott recommended I watch. I had seen it at the theater but it was good to watch it again on Amazon Prime. I will call Nancy tomorrow and see if she would like to see it tomorrow afternoon.

I watched the CBS news this evening at 5:30PM and took my bath after that. I will read until 9:00PM or so and then go on to bed.

I didn't get any laundry done today. I want to strip my bed tomorrow and I will wash sheets, towels and my underwear.

Sunday and Church

I slept fitfully again last night. As I was in the den working with the computer, I heard a huge "bang" louder then any fireworks and seeming to come from Brandon's side of the duplex. I thought about it for awhile and then decided to have it checked out...just in case. A policewoman came over to check on it an she said she couldn't get anyone to answer the door but she looked into the windows and couldn't see anyone in there. That put my mind to rest. If anything had happened over there and I didn't report it, I would have been really sick about it.

I went on to bed after that. Laura, who is one of Nancy's caregivers and is a nurse and lives two doors down across the street, texted me to see if I was alright. I told her about reporting that loud bang and she said she also heard it and was also alarmed. But she was concerned about me. I thanked her for her concern and went on to sleep. It was much too loud and close by to have been fireworks but it must have been.  That was my excitement for the week.

I got up close to 5:00AM and made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for church. I have been eating my breakfast. I haven't checked the news or the weather yet. I heard a couple of the cats fighting awhile ago so I know they are out there. It's 6:20AM now. I will leave for church about 9:30AM or thereabouts. I want to go into Coffeyville too and go to the bank. I spent the last of my money on the mowing yesterday.

So more later...

I went over to Coffeyville  a little early this morning. I wanted to go to the bank and get some money and also go out to Walmart to get my face wash. I bought it a couple of days ago, but for some reason, I didn't get home with it. I searched the apartment but could not find it. So I bought it again.

I got out to church early enough  to sweep off the walks and turn on the sound system. I also made copies of the blank attendance records.

Karan had a good service and it was  a communion service too. Afterward, Phyllis and I went over to "Just Us" and had dinner. Karan went with John and Leslie and the rest of the group. Phyllis and I just wanted a regular full dinner.

I see my duplex neighbor is mowing this afternoon. It has been three weeks since he mowed so it really needed it.The back was at least a foot tall. The front was not quite that tall but still not within our contracts. Evidently the loud noise I heard last night was fireworks. It did sound like a gunshot. Even my neighbor thought so.

I will read this afternoon. I am still working on one of my Kindle books.

Well, my neighbor mowed his back yard this afternoon and made a mess in my yard. His cut grass not only went on my cement slab at my back door but also all over my nice neat grass by the fence. I took my broom out there and swept off the cement slab and took my shears out and trimmed the grass sticking through the fence from his side. A real mess! I cleaned it up the best I could but his cement slab is covered with the grass that will undoubtedly blow under the gate and onto my clean cement slab. After it cools down a bit, I will bring my mower around and run over the mess he made on my neat yard and pick it up into the bag on my mower.

It's 5:19PM and I just filled my mower with gas and took it around back and cleaned up the mess he left on my yard. It looks fine now.

I will go watch the rest of the golf tournament and then 60 Minutes after the CBS news. The golf tournament is running overtime just like last week.

More even later...

I watched the rest of the golf tournament and then 60Minutes.  They interviewed Ken I fed Blondie and he was the only one that came for supper. The animals are all scared of the noise. It is 7:44PM now and I want to get the hummingbird feeder in and change the nectar. It's about time.

Oh yes, I heard another of those tremendously loud bangs...like a gunshot. It turned out to be some kind of a bomb and the boy across the street set it off.  That's what I heard last night too.

I will now read until am tired enough to go to bed. That will probably be between 8:00PM and 10:00PM.
