Sunday and Church

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed,dressed and got myself ready for the day. Then I began putting together my coffeecake.It's in the oven now. When I got that in the oven, I turned on the TV and checked for cats. The grey cat was out  there waiting for his/her breakfast. I set it out there and it began eating hungrily. So far it is the only one here for breakfast.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 41 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 41 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 47 degrees and mostly sunny,  Thursday is to be 43 degrees and mostly sunny, and Friday is to be 44 degrees and PM showers. One day of rain and the others just cloudy. One day of rain is fine though. It's better then nothing!

Saturday and Laundry

 I slept very well last night. I woke up once but went right back to sleep until 6:20AM. That's the best sleep I've had in weeks. 

I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door, Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast so I took it out to him. He ate and left. 

I caught "the weather on the 8's" too. 

Today is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 42 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 42 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 46 degrees and cloudy, Wednesday is to be 46 degrees and  mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 44 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 47 degrees and cloudy. That's the week...no rain...just lots of cloudy!

I called Sally to ask her if she wanted to go to Copan for lunch and she did. I picked her up at noon and we drove down there and had a cup of beef vegetable soup and split a piece of German Chocolate pie. It was very good.

When I got home yesterday I went to the library and checked out two more books. 

I read them both yesterday and today and will return them on Monday.

I am doing a load of laundry, Now it is in the dryer. 

It's nearly 7:00PM and I just had my bath. I will go to bed about 9:00PM.

Friday and Reading Again

I slept fairly well last night but was up an hour or so reading because I could not sleep. Finally I went back to bed and finally got back to sleep..I slept until 5:00AM this time.

When I finally got up to read again, I opened the front door to find Blondie waiting for his breakfast. I got it for him and he dug into it.

Soon I also had "the weather on the 8's". I took a photo of that and brought it in the den here to post it on this blog;

Today is to be 45 degrees and AM cloudy and PM sun, Saturday it is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 42 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 41 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 45 degrees and cloudy, Wednesday is to be 45 degrees and  partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 41 degrees and partly cloudy. Thursday and Another Trip to Independence for Lunch

I slept well last night and was up at 4:30AM. Now it's 5:21AM and I opened the door to no cats...at least not yet 

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" .

Today is supposed to be 41 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 48 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be  32 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 46 degrees and cloudy, Monday is to be 40 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 44 degrees and mostly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 43 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! No rain again. And we could really use some more rain.

Blondie finally showed up for his breakfast and the small grey cat did too.

I sat and read the first book until I finished it. I took it back to the library drop box before I went to pick up Sally for lunch.

We went to the Dairy Queen for their chicken strips and french fries.. and, of course, the hot fudge sundae. As usual, it was very good!

 When we finished lunch  I took her home. Then I came home.

Then later I started the second book...so More Later...   

It's almost 7:00PM so I will go take my bath and get myself ready for bed. I will read some more before I go to bed. If I go to bed too early, I don't sleep well.

Wednesday and a Hair Apointment

I slept pretty well last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I first opened the front door, there were no cats there. But the next time, after I set out the cat food, the little grey cat showed up and is eating. I don't see any of the others yet. But I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 39 degrees and  cloudy,  Thursday is to be 44 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Friday is to be 48 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 49 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 42 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 39 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be  43 degrees and  mostly cloudy. Again, no rain in the forecast..just lots of cloudy weather. That gets me through the week. We could sure use some more rain.

I left for Coffeyville and my hair appointment at 8:15AM. Then I came on back home. Then I went to Copan Restaurant and bought some soup and some pie. Finally I went to the library and got two more books to read. At 7:16PM, I took my bath and put my pajamas on and will go back to the book again until later this evening closer to 9:00PM when I will go on to bed.

 

Tuesday and Cleaning the Apartment

I was up shortly before 5:00AM this morning but I had slept well. I fixed myself some Chai Latte and a breakfast bar for breakfast. I checked outdoors a couple of times but no cats were out there yet. It's not quite 6:00AM yet so it may be awhile before any come. It's only 30 degrees and out there so it will be cold for them.

I put away most of my Christmas decorations last evening. I took the boxes to the garage and stacked them in the corner where the water tank is closeted. I have a few odds and ends still out in the apartment. I see 5 little Santa men on the shelves in here, I will gather them up after awhile along with a candle or two and box them up and label the boxes too and take them to the garage. I did catch "the weather on the 8's" for the day.

Today is to be 44 degrees and cloudy, Wednesday is to be 40 degrees and mostly cloudy. Thursday is to be  43 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be  46 degrees and mostly sunny, Saturday is to be 50 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 46 degrees and  partly cloudy, Monday is to be 40 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week! No rain again and we still need some more!

Finally, the little grey cat came to eat. It's 7:38AM and he/she is the only one who has come for their breakfast.Usually the little white one comes and of course the two yellow cats , Blondie and his yellow friend. But I haven't seen either of them this morning. I put both dry and wet cat food out there for them.

I got the rest of the Christmas decorations put away and in boxes and stacked in the garage.

I didn't see any of the other cats come to eat. And that is strange. Usually at least Blondie will come to eat. I hope nothing has happened to him.

I got the apartment cleaned and vacuumed again this morning. I didn't see any more big cockroaches today. I killed a small one last night and one of it's legs came off and I got a napkin and picked that up and put it in the trash. I imagine some of the cockroach survived because it ran under the table that has my Alexa sitting on it. I tried to move it away from the wall. But it was too heavy. I imagine that cockroach may have gone ahead and died later since it had lost a leg. Stephen said they didn't have any in their apartment but of course they spend very little time in their apartment. I live in mine. But that still doesn't tell me why I get cockroaches and they don't. Especially when I clean every week.

Oh well, he is calling the  exterminator to get mine treated on the 5th of January and he said they would have him exterminate theirs too. I suppose "just in case".  I may buy some kind of bug spray at Dollar General today. 

Finally Blondie came for his meal. It was later then usual.  It's trying to rain some more. That may be why he is later.

I called Sally just before noon to ask her if she wanted to go to lunch. She did. She wanted to go to the fish place in Independence so that's what we did. It was very good. We both got the kids menu. It is lots of food even though it is supposed to be a kid's portion.

I went to the library here but they were closed for the holiday weekend so I couldn't get a couple of  books as I had planned.. I will try again after I get back from Coffeyville tomorrow and my hair appointment. We aren't having game day tomorrow so I will be coming back home after my hair appointment. Although I may visit with Marilyn some after my hair appointment.

It's only 7:15PM and too early to go to bed. I am going to have to find something to read until at least 9:00PM. If I go too bed too early I won't sleep well.

Monday and Christmas Day

 I slept well last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM. I made my bed dressed and got myself ready for the day.  I went to the garage and got some dry cat food to put in the bowls and took it in the house and added the wet cat food to the other end of the bowls. Then I set it out on the sidewalk by the front door. Soon the little grey cat showed up and then Blondie too. They are eating now. 

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 40 degrees and cloudy. Tuesday is to be 43 degrees and mostly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 41 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 43 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 47 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 50 degrees and mostly sunny, and Sunday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy....no rain this week. Just lots of partly cloudy!

I fixed myself some Chai Latte and a breakfast bar and am eating that now..

I did a load of laundry and it is in the dryer now.  

When they were dry, I put them all away.

I took my two library books back to the library's  drop box this morning. I will get a couple more books tomorrow after the library is open. Leslie picked me up and she took Cheyenne and Jeromy and me to Ihop for a very good breakfast.

After I got back home I started putting away my Christmas decorations. I will bring all those boxes back in and start loading them with the decorations. As soon as Jeromy has some time, he will come put the boxes back in the attic.

I spent the evening boxing up Christmas decorations. I also took down the little Christmas tree. I will stack the boxes in the garage until Jeromy has time to put them in the attic again. It's almost 8:00PM and I will take my bath now and put my pajamas on. I still have plenty to do with boxing up the Christmas decorations. I will do that this week.

More Even Later...

I got about ten boxes boxed and I still have some more to do but there is no rush. Jeromy is helping the kids now that John is sick,  Jeromy is putting out hay for the cattle and Leslie has been feeding milk for one of the new puppies. It may not make it. Leslie took it in the house and put it on a heating pad to warm it up last night . They have a radiator in the kennel but that puppy is the runt of the litter and Leslie had been having to spoon it some milk,. John's brother-in law and his wife, John's sister, have volunteered to take care of it and feed it. Echo is not nursing all eight of them... especially not that one. It is very tiny. Much smaller then the others.

I have had my bath now. But it's only 9:10PM and I don't want to go to bed this early. I would not sleep well and I slept well last night. I had stayed up until almost 10:00PM reading.

 

Sunday and Church

 I slept pretty well last night and was only up once to take my two meds. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I made my coffee cake this morning and it is in the oven baking.

I opened the front door and and found Blondie waiting for his breakfast. It is raining this morning. I think it rained all night. He ate his breakfast and left to find shelter....probably under someone's house.

I also saw "the  weather on the 8's",  It's 60 degrees today and still raining, Monday it's to be 42 degrees and cloudy, Tuesday is to be 43 degrees and mostly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 41 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 43 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 44 degrees and partly cloudy and Saturday is to 45 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! Only one day of rain and that's today.  Lots of partly cloudy! But outside of today, most of the week is partly cloudy.

I see the little grey cat is out there eating now. I am drinking my Chai Latte and have eaten my breakfast bar. I will have some coffee cake at church.

I just texted Leslie to find out what time we are having breakfast at church. She says it's 10:00AM. It's 8:26AM now so I have awhile before I have to leave for church. It's Christmas Eve so I don't expect a lot of folks to be there. They probably all have a lot of company for Christmas.

Scott just called me and I visited with him for quite awhile. Then I had to let him go so I could ice my coffee cake.

The little grey cat came and ate his/her breakfast. That one is gone now too.

More Even Later. 

We had plenty of people for church. And it was a fine service. Mike Norris sang a Christmas song and he had a very fine voice. In fact, the entire service was great!

I didn't eat lunch because I knew I would have a light supper with Jeromy, Leslie and Cheyenne when we have our gift opening this evening.

I read until Jeromy and Leslie and Cheyenne came... around 4:00PM and then we ate some of Jeromy's smoked turkey and some of the salad stuff I had bought at Wal Mart yesterday. He gave me some more of the smoked meat and I gave him one of the unopened veggies, cheese and meat trays from Walmart. We were plenty full and everyone got something they were glad to have for Christmas.

They left after everyone ate and opened their gifts.and will be back to pick me up tomorrow morning so we will have Christmas dinner or breakfast at Ihop in Bartlesville. We did that last year too. 

It's 5:48 PM now and I will read until 7:00PM when I will take my bath.

Saturday and More Reading

Later Blondie came to eat and I set some food out for him too.

I went to Independence and bought some food in little trays for Sunday night's gift opening. Leslie and Jeromy and Chi and I will be here. John  probably will not. He is having terrible problems with his feet.

I am going down to Copan and have lunch...some of their beef vegetable soup. Perhaps some pie too.

Friday and a Trip to the LIbrary

I slept fairly well last night but as usual, I was up early. I opened the door early too and there was Blondie waiting for his breakfast. I took it out to him and he  ate hungrily.  When he finished, he left.  I closed the door because it was cold out there. I fixed my Chai Latte and my breakfast bar and started another cup of Chai Latte.

I got up in the night and checked out the back door. It was as I thought, It was raining. That's why Blondie was huddled by the front door... out of the rain.

Then I turned on the TV and soon I had "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 60 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 66 and cloudy, Sunday is to be 61 degrees and rain, Monday is to be 41 degrees and AM showers,  Tuesday is to be 42 degrees and partly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 45 degrees and partly cloudy . So a couple of days of rain next week ...Sunday and Monday. That's better then nothing!

More Later... I want to go to the library this morning to get another couple of books. Then I will drop by the post office and drop a couple of letters in the drop box there.

And I did that as well as reading the rest of the afternoon until bath time. I took my bath at 7:00PM . read until 9:00PM and then went to bed.

Thursday and More Reading

I took both bowls out to him and he ate from both of them. So far, none of the other cats have come. of course it's only 5:24AM. 

I have the other book to finish reading and then will take it up to the book drop and later get a couple more books.

That's the week..two days of rain!   Sunday and Monday...We need all we can get!

The little grey cat finally came and ate and when he/she left, the white one came.

I finished the second book  and will get a couple more when I get back from lunch.

I called Sally and asked her to go with me to the Dairy Queen in Independence for lunch. She was happy to go. I will pick her up at noon.

We did go to the Dairy Queen and had our usual $7.00 special,. chicken strips and french fries and a drink and a hot fudge sundae. We always enjoy eating there once a week.

Wednesday and Hair Day

I slept fairly well last night but was up an hour earlier then usual. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am eating my breakfast bar and drinking my Chai Latte now. I haven't even turned on the TV yet to see the weather forecast for the week and check on the cats.

I will do that now.

Today is to be 59 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 61 degrees and cloudy, Friday is to be 60 degrees and AM showers,  Saturday is to be 65 degrees and PM showers, Sunday is to be 63 degrees and thunderstorms, Monday is to be 53 degrees and AM clouds PM sun. Tuesday is to be 47 degrees and mostly cloudy. Two days of rain in the forecast. Friday and Saturday. Any rain we can get is welcome.

I still have not seen any cats. Their food is out there but they are not...yet.

They finally came and ate. At least Blondie did. and when I got back from Coffeyville the little white cat was out there eating and the bowls were nearly empty,.

I went pay my car insurance and the rate had gone from $333,63 to  $377,40 a half...another huge raise. $43.77 a half higher. I am going to start paying it by the month. at $71.00 and some change every month .

I took my bath at 7:00PM and then afterward went back to my other book. It's almost 8:00PM now and since I was up so early, I may go on to bed. I will take my Melatonin. That may help me sleep.

Tuesday and Reading

 I was up fairly early this morning, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door, I found both yellow cats waiting for their breakfast and also the grey cat. So I put enough food out there for all three.

I fixed myself some Chai Latte.and a breakfast bar. I brought mine back here to the den to eat and drink while I blog.

Today is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 58 degrees and cloudy, Thursday is to be 60 degrees and PM showers, Friday is to be 61 degrees and showers, Saturday is to be 64 degrees and few showers. Sunday is to be 64 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Monday is to be 57 degrees and mostly cloudy. So two days of rain in the forecast. Thursday and Friday. That's better then none.

I finished the first book this morning and it's 8:35AM and 26 degrees outside. Both yellow cats and the grey one have eaten and are gone now.,..  

I am going to take my walk this morning even though it's cold. I will wear my gloves and my jacket.

The little white cat is out there eating now. 

I took my mile walk this morning and wore my gloves and jacket. I should have worn my ear muffs too. It was very cold at least 40 degrees and windy, I picked up a big sack of trash and put it in my dumpster when I got back home.

I need to go over to Dollar General and get some more wet cat food. I believe I am out again. feeding four or five ferrel cats tends to do that. 

I also bought some pecans for my dessert Sunday night. I plan to bake some Apple Brown Betty. It's been years since I have made it and I hope it will turn out o.k. That's what I intend to serve at the gift exchange here next Sunday evening, I will buy some vanilla ice cream to put on it.

I called Sally and asked her to go to lunch with me at Copan Truck Stop. I picked her up at noon and we went there and had their beef vegetable soup first and then we split a piece of German Chocolate pie. As usual, it was delicious.

I texted my son in law, John. He is feeling better now that he is home from the hospital. But he will need to be careful for quite awhile and not try to go back to his usual routine too soon. We were all very concerned about him. Still are!

He is expecting to get a wound vac tomorrow. It will draw stuff out of the wound and help it heal quicker.

Monday and Laundry

So I went ahead and sat the cat food out there and soon the little white cat came and ate and left. Then Blondie showed up and began eating. I didn't see him all day yesterday. I was afraid he was hit by a car or something. But I was glad to finally see him out there eating again.

Today is to be 47 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be  54 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 57 degrees and cloudy, Thursday is to be 62 degrees and PM showers, Friday is to be 60 degrees and showers, Saturday is to be 61 degrees and showers, and Sunday is to be 62 degrees and showers. We are finally getting some much needed rain this week!  That's four days of it in the forecast!

I will do some laundry today. I am out of underwear so I need to do laundry and wash my towels too.

Sunday and Christmas Dinner at Church

I got up close to 5:00AM. I was awake off and on all night, For some reason  I just couldn't stay asleep. Finally I just got up and made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I checked the front door but no cats were out there that early. I did catch "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is to be 59 degrees and partly cloudy. Tomorrow is to be 47 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 61 degrees and PM showers, Friday is to be 61 degrees and Saturday is to be 62 degrees and showers. So two days of rain. That's wonderful! We need all we can get!

I fixed my Chai Latte and a breakfast bar for my breakfast. Soon I will go check on the cats again  It's 28 degrees this morning and clear.

I went into Coffeyville to get some money for the week at my bank. Unfortunately the bank ATM machine was broken again and I had to go to the police station to use their ATM machine. That worked. Then I went out to the Woodshed at South Coffeyville and filled my car gas tank with gas.

We had a great service at church and a great meal afterward. I brought my cookies home... the ones I had taken out to Leslie's. She brought the ones that were left of mine to the church this morning... those that were left from her cookie exchange yesterday. I will make up a box for Stephen and Dee Anna, my landlords. They may share them with their grandchildren. The grandchildren attend Caney schools.

More Later... It's shortly after 7:00PM and I have just had my bath and put my pajamas on and just finished my second book. I will return both of them to the Caney Library tomorrow and get two more checked out.

I will watch 60 Minutes now and then go on to bed afterwards. 

The only cats I saw today was the little grey one and the white one. I saw neither of the yellow cats. I hope they are alright. It's 7:23PM and 45 degrees now and clear outside.

Saturday and a Cookie Exchange

I slept pretty well last night and was only up once in the night,  When I opened the front door this morning, only the grey cat was out there. No Blondie yet. I fed it and soon Blondie and the small blond cat should be out there for their breakfasts. It is 5:24AM now.

Leslie's cookie exchange is this afternoon from 2:00PM until 5:00PM. I will probably go out there shortly after 5:00PM.

I need to do some apartment cleaning too. It's been over a week.

Today is to be 48 degrees and  clouds AM and sun PM, Sunday is to 57 degrees and will be sunny, Monday is to be 48 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 61 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 62 degrees and PM showers, Friday is to be 61 degrees and showers,  It looks like we are going to get some more rain this week.Thursday and Friday anyway! Thank goodness!!

I never did see any other cat except the grey one. No Blondie or the smaller yellow cat. None but the grey one.

At lunchtime, I went to the lunch place in town Gabbie's. Ihad her special for my lunch.

I read all afternoon until time to leave for Leslie's

 I left for Leslie's at 1:45PM and we had a good crowd. I left about 3:45PM.

I did clean the apartment this afternoon and left the vacuum charging while I went out to Leslie's cookie exchange, There were lots and lots of cookies. I took a small box back with me and asked Leslie by text if she would bring whatever I have left in my pan to church tomorrow. I would like to fix Stephen and his wife, Dee Anna,  a box of homemade cookies for Christmas.

Friday and Rain

I slept fairly well last night. I wrapped Christmas gifts last evening.I was up a couple of times in the night but I managed to get back to sleep for a change.!

I got a Christmas gift from Ginger. It was  a pair of Buckeye pajamas. That's the Ohio State football team. Ginger is a graduate of Ohio State. I watch their games when they play.

I opened the front door this morning to Blondie waiting for his breakfast. I took his food out to him and he ate his fill and left. Now the little snow white cat is out there eating.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".Today it is raining!!!I am so pleased to see rain. We are desperate for it! Tomorrow is to be 50 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 58 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 48 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 68 degrees and PM showers! and we really need rain!

It is 42 degrees and light rain! 

Tomorrow is Leslie's cookie exchange party. I made snickerdoodles.

I went up to Independence this morning to buy Leslie's Christmas gift. I bought it a month ago but I could not find it yesterday when I wrapped the gifts. I searched the house and car from top to bottom. I have no idea what became of it.The man at the gift store even remembered constructing the box for it. I found Marlene's and they were together. But I couldn't find Leslie's.

Very aggravating. I sent Sage's off this morning. I bought some more Christmas cards to send out.

 

 

Thursday and Lunch in Bartlesville at Murphy's

I slept well last night and was up at 5:00AM and made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door, Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. I fixed it for him and one other. Soon the little grey cat came to eat too. I haven't seen the others yet.

Finally, I did see the snow white cat.and it ate there and then left.. 

I did see "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is to be 61 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 50 degrees and rain, Saturday is to be 52 degrees and  AM cloudy and PM sun, Sunday is to be 54 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 51 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week!.One day of rain! Badly needed rain!

I talked to Sally this morning and we decided to go to Murphy's for lunch today. Murphy's is in Bartlesville on the east side of Bartlesville. Bob and I used to eat there regularly paydays when we lived there. I have been back once or twice since I moved back to Kansas but it's been awhile. That will be somewhere different to go to eat..

Wednesday and My Hair Appointment

 I was up shortly before 5:00AM this morning, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. The first thing I did was check my bank account. I got a $45.00 raise in my social security. Every little bit counts.

After I get my hair done this morning, I will go down to Bartlesville to Jane Phillips hospital to visit my son-in-law, John, at the hospital. He is getting IV antibiotics for the infection in his foot. He is bored and gave me his room number and let me come visit him. I bought him a nice get well card last evening. I hope that cheers him up.

Now I will go check on the cats. I haven't even opened the front door yet.

When I did open the door both blond cats were out there waiting for their breakfast so I fixed it for them and they ate and left.. The others will be along later I imagine. They usually let the blond cats eat first before they come and lap up whatever is left.

I left for my hair appointment at 8:00AM. I got there early enough that I had time to go out to Woodshed and get gas before my hair appointment.. Then after I had my hair done, I left for my Bartlesville trip to visit John at the hospital. I stayed until 1:00PM and then I left so John could take a nap. he seemed to be better but certainly not well. They thought he would b e there at least 5 days,,maybe longer.

Tuesday and More Cookies?

 I slept well last night and was only up once and took my meds at that time. At 4:00AM I awoke wondering if I am to take cookies to Independence today. I thought I had put the next time on my calendar but when I checked my calendars, none was mentioned so I had better call the church before I take them up there to see if they are expecting them today.

I took the cookies up to Independence to the First Christian church then I went on to Jess's place and bought a pecan pie for the dinner today. 

Then as I was leaving I notice my rider's side tire...the one that has been fixed twice at Mainstreet Repair, was going down again. Jess put some air in it to get me to Coffeyville to Dollar Tire so they could fix it. I left it there and walked on over to the senior center to our Christmas Dinner there. We had a very nice dinner and many people came for it. When I was finished and we cleaned up the mess, Karan took me to Dollar Tire and I paid $17.00 to them to fix THAT tire. That's three tire problems in a month....the SAME tire.

It was good to get home.

I texted John, my son in law, who is in the hospital in Bartlesville. He had an MRI and a sonogram today and he is to learn the outcome of those tests this evening. I asked him if he would like some company tomorrow and he said that would be fine and gave me his room number and after I get my hair done tomorrow I will go down to Bartlesville  and visit him. I went out to Dollar General and found an appropriate get well card to take to him and I will visit with him for awhile and he can tell me about his foot. I believe the problem began with some sort of blister on his toe and it just got worse and worse. He has been having antibiotics IV ever since he has been in the hospital. I believe this is his second day there.

Stephen came over and worked on the hot water in my bathtub. He got it much warmer and  I took my bath without having to add hot water from the kitchen sink. That was good of him.

Monday and Laundry

I slept well last night and was not up until 5:00AM, and got myself ready for the day. Both yellow cats were out front wanting their breakfasts. So I took it out to them. Then the little grey cat came to eat too.

I stripped my bed this morning and am doing laundry. It's in the dryer now.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" right away. 

Today is to be 57 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 58 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 57 degrees and cloudy, Thursday is to be 58 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 56 degrees and cloudy, Saturday is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy and Sunday is to be 58 degrees and sunny. No rain this week and we desperately need it.

Now the little black and white cat is eating out front. I haven't seen the all white one yet.

I got the laundry finished and the bed remade and the clothes put away. I read awhile but then I decided to bake my cookies for Saturday.. I put them in containers and sealed the containers with plastic wrap. Leslie is having a cookie exchange Saturday afternoon. Between 2:00PM  and 5:00PM. I made snickerdoodles.

I went to Bartlesville to get my car washed at Okie's. After that I ate lunch at Copan Restaurant.  Then I came back home. Stephen was planning to come and try to get my hot water for the bathtub working but he and Dee Anna went Christmas shopping in Coffeyville instead and he will come tomorrow evening and do that before his grandchildren's Christmas program tomorrow evening at 7:00PM. They will be in Caney again for that occasion. 

That will work!  I will just add hot water from the kitchen sink again this evening. It will be 7:00PM before I take my bath. It's 6:43PM now so I'd better get ready.

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

Last night I went through the list of my classmates from my 1953 high school class and sent all who had e-mail an e-mail advising them to send me their news for our annual class newsletter. At 88, I don't know how many are still around. This may be my last class newsletter. Several of those e-mails came back as undeliverables but I did hear from several who answered me and I may hear from more of them today. I figure those that were undelivered have passed away. 

I was interested in seeing if any would answer me so I got up at 3:00AM and checked my e-mail.

Now I will go back to bed. It's only 3:39AM.

I later got up at 5:00AM. When I opened the front door both yellow cats were out there looking for their breakfast, So I fixed it and took it out to them. So far, those two are the only ones that have been out there. The other two or three will probably come later.

I have the coffeecake in the oven and  the timer is on so I will hear it buzz when the coffeecake is finished baking.

I did get "the weather on the 8's" and took a photo of it.

Both yellow cats are out there in front of the front door and now the little black and white cat is out there too. He/she is eating.The other two are just lying next to the front door trying to get warm. That isn't going to happen. They need to go find a house they can crawl under. I left for church at 8:30AM and took the coffeecake with me. There were only a few of us there this morning. Leslie, Johnna and the Norris' and the two McIntoshes and Leeann and Chris and his dog were not there. But it was a very good service anyhow. Karan and John did a good job. There were 7 of us there. Afterward Ted and Karan joined Phyllis and me for lunch at Eggbert's. I asked John to join us but he was not feeling well because of a problem with one of his feet so he declined.

I divided up the leftover coffeecake and sent some home with Ted, Karan, and myself. I offered John some but he said he was trying to cut back on sweets.

It's 8:30PM now and I will read awhile and then go on to bed at 10:00PM.

 

 

 

Saturday and Lunch at Gabbies

I slept pretty well last night. I was only up once in the night and got up and took my meds. I finally got up at 5:00AM, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.. I fixed my Chai Latte and a breakfast bar and opened the front door to find Blondie and the other smaller blond cat waiting for their breakfasts. I took it out to them and an extra bowl for one of the other cats that come later.

Then I caught "the weather on the 8's" too and so today we are to be 52 degrees  and sunny, Sunday we are to be 51 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 56 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 55 degrees and mostly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 56 degrees and mostly cloudy and Friday is to be 53 degrees and AM showers. One day of rain...if we get it.

I got that finished and now I want to go to the library this morning after 8:00AM and get a couple of different books to  read. It's only 7:47AM now so I have a little wait.

It's 10:47AM now and I have been reading in one of the library books I got checked out today. It isn't exactly one of the most interesting ones I have read but I have barely started it. Maybe it will get better.

I called Sally to see if she wanted to have lunch at Gabby's. She did. I will pick her up at noon. And we will see what Gabby has to eat today.

When I got home  I read awhile and then e-mailed all my classmates I could reach by e-mail. Some came back. They have either moved or died. At 88 years old that is always a possibility.

Friday and a Trip to Bartlesville with My Daughter

I slept fairly well last night and was up at 5:00AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I had a bit of warmed up coffeecake with my Chai Latte for my breakfast.

When I opened the front door both yellow cats were there waiting for their breakfasts. When I took it out to them, the little grey cat joined them and all three ate the dry and wet cat food. 

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 65 degrees and showers, Saturday is to be 51 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 51 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 56 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 55 degrees and mostly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and cloudy, and Thursday is to be 55 degrees and mostly cloudy. So again, only one day of raid forecast and that's today. We really need even more rain. But it's not in the forecast.

Leslie, my daughter, is going to pick me up later this morning and we will go to Bartlesville where she will get an oil change for her car. We will have lunch while that is being done. 

It's 6:01AM now.

She came right on time and we went to Bartlesville where she had her oil changed.  It took awhile so we had lunch at a real good pizza place nearby. When they finally finished. We came on back to my place. She had bought the descaling solution for my Keurig.and spent a lot of time cleaning it up and getting a new filter put in it too. It should work like brand new now. It was a real mess. I had lost the directions to cleaning it up in my move and was never able to find it. So it needed to be cleaned up very badly.

Then she told me to go up to City Hall and get free water. The policeman even loaded it in my car. I wasn't able to get it out because it was too heavy.  But when Stephen, my landlord, comes Monday evening to fix the water for my bath so that it's warm and I won't have to add hot water from my sink to my bath water. I will ask him to get that water out of my car.

It's 5:27PM now and I want to go watch the 5:30 CBS news now.

Thursday and Some Rain

 I was up at 5:00AM this morning..didn't sleep so well. I opened the door to the two yellow cats this morning. I fixed their breakfasts and they ate, got their fill and left. The other four haven't shown up yet.

But I did catch "the weather on the 8's" . Today is to be 66 degrees and partly cloudy and wind. tomorrow is to be 66 degrees and PM showers, Saturday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 49 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 55 degrees and mostly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and AM cloudy PM sun...only one day of rain and that is Friday (tomorrow).  Well that's something at least!

I read all morning and finished the book I checked out at the Coffeyville Library on Wednesday. I will return it next Wednesday. Twice the two blond cats came and ate more food The little black and white one came too and tried to finish off the cat food. 

I had mixed up my two prescriptions and the pharmacist at Caney Drug got them fixed. I had the two of them in the wrong bottles. I had them both out yesterday and got them mixed up. I only take the two prescriptions so nothing was a problem except that should not have happened.

I called Sally and asked her if she wanted to have lunch at the Dairy Queen in Independence. She did. I told her I would pick her up at noon. I am sure we will have their $7.00 special.  We usually do.

I also found magnetic calendars at Amazon and ordered one. I attach them to my refrigerator door. I have bought them for years. I get two years for $9.00. I am supposed to get them on Saturday. I am so happy to have found one at Amazon. I have looked at all the Wal Marts in the area. There were none with magnets.

I just talked to my daughter and she will pick me up at 10:30 or 11:00 tomorrow and take me with her to Bartlesville to get her oil changed. We will have lunch while we wait. She is going to have it done at Tate Boy's downtown location.

I had the two Blond cats come back for some supper. The white one showed up too. So I also fed it.

Then I picked up a couple of bags for leaves in front of the front door and put them in the trash receptacle.

Then at 7:00PM I took my bath. I have to put two large pitchers of hot water from the kitchen sink in the bath water. It doesn't get hot enough water in the tub..just warm water. Adding two large pitchers of hot sink water helps a lot. At least the water is warm, though not hot.

I will read in a book until my 9:00PM bedtime. I am re-reading "Saving Jesus from the Church. How to Stop Worshiping Christ and Start Following Jesus" by Robin R. Meyers. We studied that in Church School class several years ago. It made very good sense. Good enough to re-read it.

Tuesday and Cookies

 I slept well last night and was up at 5:15AM, made my bed, dressed, and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door, there were no cats out there but I picked up their bowls and brought them in to be filled with food. Then I put them back out there. Soon I opened the door again and the two yellow cats and the grey one were out there eating their breakfasts. The white one and the black and white one are not out there yet. They will be along a little later...after these are finished and gone.

I will go up to Independence this morning about 9:30AM to take the cookies to the First Christian Church there. They will serve a meal at noon to anyone who needs food at no cost at all to them. The Independence churches have been doing that for almost eight years now.

I got to Independence and stopped at the market to buy the cookies.  Then at 9:30AM, I drove across the street and called the pastor with my horn. One long blast and two short ones. ..my usual way of getting him to come open the kitchen door. No one was at the kitchen door. I got his answering machine and left a message. No one got back to me.  I tried again and a woman showed up from the all purpose room. She took the cookies and then I went out to their Wal Mart and left my plastic bottles in the container for recycling.

Then I came home. 

I read awhile and then tried  to call Sally but she didn't answer. I tried two times but I think she must be doing her weekly shopping somewhere.

So  I will eat by myself this time.

I did eat by myself this time and I ordered a piece of German Chocolate pie and my usual cup of vegetable beef soup. I put half of the pie in a box to bring home. As I was getting ready to pay for my lunch a young man moved up in the line and took my ticket and paid for my lunch. Then as I was leaving, my son in law was just coming in. I told him if I knew he was going to eat at Copan Truck Stop, I would have waited and eaten with him. 

When I was driving home, the pastor of the First Christian church called me back. He told me they would not need any more cookies until the second Tuesday in January.

When I got home the little white cat was waiting for me to put some of the dry cat food in one of the the dishes out front. I had filled both dry cat food dishes. Then as I was coming back in the house the little black and white cat came to eat some of what I had just put in the  other dish.

I think they are getting plenty to eat...morning, noon and sometimes evening too.

 I was up at 4:45AM this morning but I had slept well ...for a change. I have made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day..Then I opened the front door to find Blondie and the smaller yellow cat waiting for their breakfasts. The little grey cat was there almost immediately so I fed it too.

Today is to be 56 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 53 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is too be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 67 degrees and  partly cloudy and windy, Friday is to be 69 degrees and mostly cloudy, Saturday is to be 49 degrees and showers, and Sunday is to be 50 degrees and sunny. That's the week...it looks like one day of rain on Saturday. That's something. It's better then nothing.

I got the apartment cleaned and vacuumed and the vacuum is charging again.

I will go out front to take the trash back next to the garages. The white cat is out there eating now.

The vacuum finished charging and the laundry is in the dryer now.  

I went over to Coffeyville earlier for my 10:45AM appointment at the  Board of Health. I got my third shot for Covid 19. I went to Eggbert's and had their fruit parfait for my lunch. I went out to the Woodshed and filled my car gas tank with gas.  Then I came on home. I have been reading again. Now it's 55 degrees and it's sunny.

Sunday and Church

 I was lying in the bed this morning, thinking of getting up when the doorbell rang. It was 4:58AM so I got up and put my robe on and went to the door. By the time I got there, no one was there except Blondie and the grey cat and I knew they hadn't rung the doorbell. I was already up so I just stayed up and took the cat food out to them. Every once in awhile, that happens. Maybe twice a year. It's a mystery to me. There has never been anyone there when I open the door... except the cats.

I will get dressed and get myself ready for church but will begin by making my coffee cake. I take that each week for the breakfast at church.

Saturday and Decorating the Church

 I slept pretty well last night and was up before 6:00, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day

 I opened the front door to two cats this morning and prepared them a dish of both wet and dry cat food. Soon I had four there so I made up two more dishes. There was the male Blondie, the white cat, the small blond cat and the grey one They are all eating. The only one not there is the all black cat.  

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" too. And I fixed myself some leftover coffee cake. 

Today is to be 50 degrees and  cloudy, tomorrow is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 56 degrees and sunny Tuesday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 61 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 68 degrees and mostly sunny and Friday is to be 65 degrees and mostly cloudy. Friday and More Books

I made my Chai Latte and when I opened the front door, Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. I fixed it for him and put a couple of extra dishes of food out for the other cats. Blondie ate and the little grey cat joined him and it/she ate too. I drank my Chai Latte and caught "the weather on the 8's". 

Today is to be 45 degrees and cloudy, Saturday is to be 53 degrees and partly cloudy. (It's also my 88th birthday). Sunday is to be 58 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 59 degrees and  sunny, Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, and Thursday is to be 68 degrees and mostly sunny. No rain in the next week's forecast.  It did rain yesterday evening and last night. 

I also had my breakfast bar this morning. That gives me something in my stomach to begin the day.

I also called Cox Complete Care about a suspicious e-mail supposed from Cox. I learned it was a scam and deleted. Thank goodness I have Cox Complete Care.

Thursday and a Better Night's Sleep

 I slept somewhat better last night but was up too early anyhow. I checked for the cats but they were not out there yet. I do have their food ready to put out...as soon as they come.

I read all afternoon until I finished the second book. Then I ate a half dozen of those small leftover cookies from the Bunco desserts.

I took my bath at 6:30PM and then will work on this blog awhile before I go to bed.

Wednesday and Hair Appointment

I slept fairly well last night. I am out of water so I had to open some juice to take my meds.  I will go by Walmart in Coffeyville this morning after my hair appointment and buy some grape flavored water. I will also need to get gas. I will call Janet at the senior center to find out if we are having Bunco or game day today. I believe they suspended both until after the first of the year.

Today is my younger son's, Scott's, birthday. I sent him a card but it may not have got there in time. The mail is so unpredictable any more.

He is 63 years old. Keith, my older son, is 68 years old and Leslie is 66 years old. My children are all senior citizens. But they are all three youthful. It's 5:27AM now. I want to go check out "the weather on the 8's" and the cat situation. So more later..

I caught the weather and two cats..both blond ones. 

Today is supposed to be 60 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is supposed to be  55 degrees and PM rain, Friday is supposed to be 45 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is supposed to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is supposed to be  55 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is supposed to be 55 degrees and sunny, and Tuesday is supposed to be 57 degrees and mostly sunny. Only one day of rain in the forecast and that's Thursday.

I had my coffeecake and read awhile but left for my hair appointment a little early. When I got to Coffeyville I dropped by the bank to get my weekly $50.00 but once again their ATM machine was not working. I talked to them about it and they told me there was an ATM machine in the police department building. It is right in the front lobby of that building. I stopped in there and withdrew money for the week.

Then I went on to my hair appointment. First I stopped at Sonic and got my weekly cherry limeade slush. Toni also bought me a birthday gift and she also did my hair for free. The gift was a candle and some body lotion. That was very good of her! 

I went out to Woodshed and bought gas. Then I went out to Walmart and bought two cartons of flavored water.

Then I read this afternoon. The new blood pressure monitor came today and once again it didn't read correctly. It said my blood pressure was 206/96. Once again it was wrong. This new one was wrong too. The pharmacist checked it with his. It said my blood pressure was 113/61. This is just "another" Wal Mart blood pressure cuff. I went out to Dollar General and bought more new batteries. That didn't change anything.  I ordered a new blood pressure cuff from the Caney Pharmacist. They will call me when it comes in.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and will read until I get really sleepy. Then I will go on to bed.

I stopped at our Sonic here in Caney and bought a child's wacky pack (three chicken strips and french fries and a tiny coke). That cost me $2.18. It is very good and very cheap. And only on Wednesdays. I usually give a tip for the delivery. 

Tomorrow I will check with Sally and ask her if she wants to go to lunch with me at Copan.  She usually does. But I won't know until I ask her.

Tomorrow we are supposed to have rain. We will see...

 

Tuesday and Laundry

I slept poorly again last night and was up halfway through the night. I have been reading. 

When I opened the front door Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. Soon the little grey cat also came to eat.

I caught "the weather on the 8's" too.  Today is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy,  Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 54 degrees and PM rain, Friday is to be 47 degrees and cloudy, Saturday is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, and Monday is to be 56 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week and only one day of possible rain. That day is Thursday.

I got the laundry done and went out to Dollar General and bought more cat food and bubble bath too.  I will have that for my bath this evening. And Blondie will have more cat food tomorrow.

I called Sally and will pick her up at noon and we will go to the Dairy Queen in Independence and have their $7.00 lunch. That's always good.  

I am not to take cookies to the First Christian Church  in Independence today. I am to go next Tuesday....a little after 9:30AM.

I will take my bath at 7:00PM and rad until bedtime. I want to finish this book.

Monday and Better Sleep

I slept somewhat better last night. Of course I took my last sleeping pill too. I was up closer to 5:00AM this morning. I feel more rested too.

I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I really don't have a plan for the day. I still have one book to read, Perhaps I will do that. There is still some snow on the ground too...not a lot but enough to keep me in.  I may walk up to the post office when they open at 8:00AM. I have some letters to mail. I wrote those who weren't at church yesterday. I didn't go either because of the snow and slick roads. So I couldn't include a bulletin.

Scott called me yesterday and we talked quite awhile. It had been awhile. We made up for it! 

I opened the front door to a hungry Blondie and even his grey colored friend.  They both ate and left. I left the bowl and food out there for the black cat and the small yellow cat and the snow white one. Perhaps they will eat it later today.

Today is to be 51 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 55 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 59 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 58 degrees and PM light rain, Friday is to be 45 degrees and cloudy, Saturday is to be 56 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 57 degrees and AM showers. Perhaps a couple of days of rain if we're lucky!

More Later... I had a tire going down again. This one had a staple in it...a large one. It was another $15.00. Thank goodness I had the money.

Then I texted Esther again. She wants me to text her earlier...about 6:30AM or so. She says she puts her phone on silence and then checks it when she wakes up.

She asked me what I would do if they had to stop helping me. .I am thinking Keith is thinking of retiring one of these days. I told her I wasn't sure what I would do.  For one thing, I would have to work out paying my own rent. They have been paying it for at least a year. That also would mean I would have to stop paying my tithes and I sure don't want to do that. I might just have to break down and move in with John and Leslie. I wouldn't have my utilities to pay here at the apartment either. I would want to give them something though if I needed to do that. Esther said she would give me notice if they had to stop paying my rent so I would have some time to make a plan.

I suppose I could move into Sycamore Landing in Coffeyville..The rent there depends on income (and I could have a pet).. Also I would be able to get rid of my daybed and trundle and have just one bedroom.  I will worry about that when the time comes. I could donate my books and bookcases to the library.

I went to Independence this noon and had their $7.00 plus tax special with three pieces of chicken for lunch.  That's a real bargain. It comes with a drink and french fries and even a dessert.

I read most of the afternoon and then at 7:25PM I took my bath. I will read until I get sleepy. If I do that, maybe I can sleep better.

I read until 9:11PM and then got sleepy enough to get to sleep. I hope I can stay asleep. That's the problem.

Sunday and Snow

I slept very poorly last night and was up several times in the night. I had taken Melatonin but couldn't stay asleep.

I finally got up at 5:45AM. When I opened the front door, Blondie was out there waiting for his breakfast. I fed him and he ate pretty fast and left. There is snow and ice on the ground. I really don't want to drive in this stuff. I asked Leslie if they had snow and she said "very little". I told her I dreaded driving in this mess and she suggested I stay home and safe.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" . Today is to be 44 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 50 degrees and partly cloudy,Tuesday is to be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 56 degrees and PM light rain, Friday is to be 49 degrees and cloudy, and Saturday is to be 56 degrees and PM showers. Much of the rain has been taken out of the forecast. Just two days left....Thursday and Saturday.

I read all morning until 12:43 PM. I finished the first book I got at the Caney library yesterday. I will take it up and drop it in the book drop at the library later.

And I did that. I also mailed off Scott's birthday card. His birthday is  Wednesday. He will be 63 years old. Leslie is 66 years old and Keith is 68 years old.

Saturday and Apartment Cleaning

 I slept fairly well last night. I was up at 5:45AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door, Blondie was waiting for his breakfast. So I fed him. I fixed myself some leftover coffeecake too. I put some additional food out there for the other cats too. They aren't out there yet.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 50 degrees and PM rain, Sunday is to be 45 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 49 degrees and  partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 55 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 56 degrees and PM showers, and Friday is to be 58 degrees and AM showers. It looks like a possible three days of rain this week...if it develops!...Saturday, Thursday and Friday.

I got the apartment cleaned...all but the dusting. I am charging the vacuum cleaner now. I will dust tomorrow or later today. I cleaned the vacuum cleaner filter.

I called Sally and we went to lunch over at the Copan Restaurant. We had a cup of soup and a piece of German Chocolate pie. Then I took her home. I went to the Caney library and started a new book. I read for awhile and then I watched the Ohio State, Michigan football game, Michigan won by a touchdown.

Then I read the rest of the evening and took my bath at 6:30PM and put my pajamas on and read until bedtime.

Tomorrow for the church breakfast I will bake my coffee cake as usual.

 

Friday and Perhaps Apartment Cleaning Saturday

I slept well again last night, Of course I took a sleeping pill and that did it. I need to buy some more Melatonin today at Dollar General.. I took my last sleeping pill last night too. I was up about 6:00AM. As soon as I turned on the light and opened the door, Blondie was there for his breakfast. So I fed him. Soon the little grey cat was there for breakfast too. They will all eventually come for their breakfasts.

Saturday is supposed to be 49 and PM rain, Sunday is supposed to be 47 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is supposed to be 45 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is supposed 53 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is supposed to be 56 degrees and mainly sunny, and Thursday is supposed to be 59 degrees and mostly cloudy.. That's the week and only one day of rain and that's tomorrow.

I finally got into my laptop computer. I wrote down what I had to do to be able to do that. I hope it works next time I want to access this site on it.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner yesterday between Alberta and Leslie. They had me bring nothing but myself. That was fine. I intended to do the pans and load the dishwasher but Jeromy, my grandson, beat me to it.

I went down to Copan Restaurant and had a cup of soup and a piece of their German Chocolate pie.  It was (as usual) delicious! I will fix my two sandwiches (one ham and one turkey) tomorrow and Sunday. That pie was just too good to pass up.

I also went to the market and bought a coffee cake mix and then I went to Dollar General and bought more things I needed that I couldn't get at the market.

 

Thursday and Thanksgiving

I slept fairly well last night. The doorbell rang very early this morning and I got up to check it out...but there was no one there. That's happened a couple of times in the past but there was never anyone there by the time I got to the door. It's a mystery.

Both yellow cats and the grey one were there for their breakfast this morning.  So I went into the garage and filled three bowls and took them out front.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" right as I turned on the TV.  Today's weather is to be 63 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday is to be 45 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 46 degrees and PM showers, Sunday is to be 43 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 46 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 52 degrees and sunny, and Wednesday is to be 56 degrees and sunny. That's the week! One day of rain. Saturday...I hope we get it!

More Later..I go out to John and Leslie's for Thanksgiving dinner at 12:30PM. There are to be 10 of us..maybe 11.   

A nice group showed up and the meal was very good too.  Leslie sent me home with ham for a sandwich and turkey for another.

I got home at a good time and went back to my book. I read until 5:35PM and then came back to my blog.  I got a Happy Thanksgiving from Ginger, Scott's wife, and also a phone call from my son, Keith. I had a text from Esther, Keith's wife.

Wednesday and a Hairdo

Around 8:00AM, I plan to leave for Coffeyville where I will get my hair colored and cut. I slept pretty well last night after taking some Melatonin.

When I opened the front door, I found Blondie and his little blond friend waiting for their breakfast. So I fed them both. Now the little grey cat is out there eating. Soon the little black one and the snow white one will probably join them. They all take a turn at the cat food.

It is to be 55 degrees today and sunny, 62 degrees tomorrow and mostly sunny, 47 degrees Friday and partly cloudy, 45 degrees and Saturday and PM Rain, Sunday is to be 43 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be  46 degrees and mostly sunny, and Tuesday is to be 50 degrees and sunny. Well maybe one day of rain on Saturday.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am to be at Leslie's at 12:30 PM. She didn't want me to bring anything but I will do the dishes.

I fit the Christmas gifts I bought yesterday in Owasso into the shirt boxes I found at Dollar General here yesterday evening. One of these days, I will gift wrap the boxes. Before Christmas, I will also want to make my peanut clusters and put them in tins for my friends.

I went to Coffeyville to the Woodshed and also got my hair done.

Then I read this afternoon and finished the first book and took it back to the library and put it in the drop box there. 

About 2:00PM I got hungry and went up to Independence to the Dairy Queen and had their $7.00 chicken special and had a nice visit with the owner there. Then drove back home with the sun in my face. I had a book in the car and I shielded my face and eyes with that. Thank Goodness!

When I got home I started the second book. Then at 7:00PM, I took my bath and put my Pajamas on and read some more until bedtime.

 

Tuesday and a Trip to Tulsa.

I slept well last night after taking a sleeping pill.. I don't want to take them more then once or twice a week at most. Usually I just take some Melatonin. I got up early again this morning and read awhile and had a light breakfast.

I read until Leslie came to get me to take me to the hearing doctor in Tulsa. He gave me a lot of help and showed me how to adjust the rate I hear all by myself...using my phone.

That was wonderful. I now have something to  use to help me hear better on my phone..

Then we stopped at Owasso  and ate at Olive Garden...a great lunch. Then we went to Kohl's and I did some Christmas shopping. With Leslie's discount I saved a bunch of money. No I have Marlene's, Leslie's John's Jeromy's and the little girls gifts.  Now all I have to do is find boxes to put them in to gift wrap.

She stopped in Bartlesville and bought gas. Then she brought me home and helped me by putting the garland and decorations on top of my bookcases. I have most of my decorations done now. I now just have to wrap gifts. I also need to find a tree skirt for my Christmas tree so I can decorate the bottom of the tree. 

After she finished that, she went on home. It had been a big day!

Monday and A Better Night's Sleep

 I slept much better last night. Of course, I took three Melatonin  and that helped a lot. I was up, made my bed and had my Chai Latte and a breakfast bar and dressed at 5:00AM. I checked on the cats but it's only 5:24AM and none of them were out there.....at least not yet. I believe it's raining though. That may be the reason. That will probably cancel my morning walk too.

That's the week. We did get some rain over the weekend....although not a lot! We should get some more today.

I went to the Walmart store in Independence  and looked for gifts for the little girls for Christmas. I didn't see anything appropriate for a 13 year old and an 11 year old. I did buy Marlene's and Leslie's though at . I will check with Jeromy about something appropriate for the girls.

I went to the Copan Restaurant and had a bowl of their beef vegetable soup and a piece of German chocolate pie. Then I came back home and went to the library and checked out two books to read this next week. I started one of them. The library will be closed Thursday and Friday. They will be open on Saturday.

It has rained a little all afternoon and quite a bit more this evening. Blondie and one or two of the other cats came for supper. The white one was here as well as the little black and white cat.  They finally all three got their fill and left.

I took my bath at 6:33PM and put my pajamas on. I will read awhile more until 10:00PM at least.

That's when I went to bed.

 

Sunday and Church

 I slept much better last night but then I took a sleeping pill so I expected to sleep better. I was up at 5:00AM as usual. I watched the news and when I opened the front door both blond cats were there waiting for their breakfast. I took it out to them and then two more came. The black and white one and the grey one. I haven't seen all of them but all but the all black and the all white one. They may come around later.

I doubt I will take my walk this morning we are forecast for rain today and tomorrow. But I am not complaining! We desperately need the rain. 

For instance, Today is to be 60 degrees and rain, Monday is to be 49 degrees and rain, Tuesday is to be 51 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 53 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 57 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday is to be 51 degrees and cloudy, and Saturday is to be 46 degrees and partly cloudy. That's two days forecast for rain. today and tomorrow. Even though I just washed my car a day ago, I will be happy for any rain we can get.

I just got the coffeecake out of the oven and it is cooling. After 8:00AM, I want to go to Dollar General and get some powdered sugar for my glaze. I didn't get that on my grocery list, so, of course, I am out of it now.

More Later...I went out to Dollar General  to get hearing aide batteries and powdered sugar. It was starting to rain! Hooray!

It rained some on the way to church this morning...nothing really big but at least some moisture!

I took my Coffeyville library book back this morning while I was in Coffeyville after lunch with Phyllis Fredensborg. 

I did some more Christmas decorating after I got back home. Leslie is going to help me with the tops of the bookcases after we get back from Tulsa and my hearing aid test on Tuesday.

I put all the empty boxes from the Christmas decorating in the garage and stacked them in next to the tank closet. After Christmas I will label the boxes again and ask Jeromy to put them back in the attic for me.  

I want to go to Independence and get Marlene's gift and perhaps Leslie's too. They still have some neat shops up there.

I don't know what to get as gifts for my family.They have everything they want. I will also go look around in Bartlesville one day. They have a lot more to choose from there too.

Saturday and Lunch at Gabbie's

I slept a little better last night. and was only up once to take my two meds. I got up close to 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door both Blondie's were out there waiting for their breakfast. I took the double bowl out and the two others. By then the grey cat was out there too. Later the white one came and I fed it too.

Saturday (today) is to be 68 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 60 degrees and showers, Monday is to be 54 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 51 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Wednesday is to be 54 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 56 degrees and sunny, and Friday is to be 54 degrees and mostly cloudy.  That's the weather forecast for the week..It looks like a possible one or two days of showers, Let's hope so.

I called Sally and we went to lunch at Roger and Joyce's...That's Gabby's.We had some very good ground beef sandwiches. They will be closed next Saturday so we will have to do something different for lunch then. 

I took my bath early and read the rest of the evening until time for me to go to bed. Besides...I finished the book. I will drop it off tomorrow at the Caney book drop.

I will fix more coffeecake tomorrow for the breakfast at church at 10:00AM. 

I took melatonin last night and slept fairly well. Tonight I will take one of my sleeping pills. Those really work. They are temazepam. I only have four left though.
