This morning I will pick up Bob for breakfast at Sirloin Stockade. I want to get an omelet today. Last week the omelet kid was off for spring break. He's a college student.
Some time this morning Leslie will come to hook up my computer. I will "Team View" Keith when he has time and he can configure it for me. I will need the mail configured get the printer installed and get it online too. I might be able to do that myself but it would be a trial and error deal with Windows 10.
I also would like him to configure the laptop so I can print from the living room again...remotely.
We are to have rain this morning and even on Easter tomorrow.
More later....
My daughter and son-in-law came first and she put everything back together for me on the new computer. Actually it's the old one with an entirely new hard drive and Windows 10 on it.
The my son logged on and helped me get everything configured. My laptop will now print from the living room and the desktop will print too. I have restored all my favorites and got logged on to all my accounts. All but my bank. I need to get that configured too now.
So more later...
Nothing is ever very simple anymore. I tried to log on to my bank and evidently put in an old password and now I am locked out until Monday when I can contact the bank about it.
Bob walked over while I was starting to clean the bathroom and I took a hiatus and we went
over to Braum's and got something to eat. Then I took him home.
Then I wanted to return a package I received today and needed to print off a packing label and instructions. The printer would no longer work from either computer and Keith had tested both of them before he logged off earlier this afternoon. I had to print it off on my old Dell XP computer's printer and that is using an entirely different printer. I had to take the cartridges out of the newer printer and put them in the older one. I got the package ready to go on Monday though so that's o.k. but as soon as he is able, I would like him to log back on and see what the problem is. I looked it over but didn't see anything wrong. But it won't print anything from either the desktop computer or the newer laptop computer. I deleted the ones waiting in the queue.
It's almost 9:00 now and I will soon go to bed.

Friday and Expecting the CPU
I will stay home today anticipating the FED X people coming with my CPU. Leslie will come by sometime in the morning to help me get it hooked up again. My cabinet has to have everything threaded through the back through small openings. So someone has to hold the CPU tilted up so the person hooking everything back up can see where each port is located. It's very inconvenient.
I slept well again last night. I feel "back to myself" again. Thank goodness!
It's 25 degrees here this morning. It's supposed to get up to 66 later in the day. If the winds die down today I will rake leaves and bag them up again.
We will have our leftover chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes and a veggie for our lunch. We still have Bob's coleslaw for a salad. I have cupcakes for dessert.
More later....
Well, I got my groceries and now have all the ingredients for my Apple Brown Betty for Sunday evening. Much of what I bought was not food though. My watch battery died this morning so I had that replaced. Then I stopped at Braums and bought my yogurt and the ice cream for Sunday evening. I put that on the Apple Brown Betty.
By the way, this is what president Obama said after 9/11. I wholeheartedly concur.
Following the 9/11 attacks in 2001, Obama was an early opponent of President Bush's push to go to war with Iraq. Obama was still a state senator when he spoke against a resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq during a rally at Chicago's Federal Plaza in October 2002. "I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars," he said. "What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne." Despite his protests, the Iraq War began in 2003.
More later...
They're working on the drywall at my son and daughter-in-laws new home.
Here's the photo he posted.
How about that!
By the way, the CPU arrived today by FED X. Now tomorrow my daughter will come and hook it back up for me.
Here's another view of the house being sheet rocked inside.
More even later...
I got the leaves in the center of the fourplex raked and bagged this afternoon. I did not get the east side of my apartment done but perhaps I can later. We are to have light rain on Saturday and rain on Easter.
Cyndi called this afternoon to say we had mice in the kitchen at church again. She also needed paper towels and toilet cleaner. She was cleaning. I stopped by the Dollar General store and picked up those items and took them out there. The security light on the east side of the building was broken too and Jeff will replace it on Monday. I bought some peanut butter for the mouse traps. I thought about getting Decon instead of baiting those traps but we have small children out there on Sundays and that might be dangerous. So I just set the traps.
Johnna and Leslie will be out there tomorrow morning decorating for Easter and can check out those traps. I did find more paper towels in both bathrooms and one under the sink in the kitchen. Cyndi has a way of exaggerating. I knew I had bought a six pack of paper towels just a month ago.
Bob came over to watch the news and left at 7:00. I watched TV after my bath and then at 9:00 Missy and I went on to bed.

Thursday and A Quiet Day
I don't have anything on the menu today. Speaking of menu, we are just going to have grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for lunch today. Bob has his large Lions Club breakfast this morning.
I am just about back to normal today after my terrible illness. My system even broke down and worked this morning...after a week. Thank goodness!
The wind continues to blow and the fire danger is high. Grass fires are burning all around us.
I need to bake cookies today. I think Bob ate the last two last night. I will bake sugar cookies with Hershey kisses in the center.
I couldn't get an appointment with my doctor until next Monday at 3:00. I was supposed to have checked in with my doctor when I finished my antibiotic. That would have been Tuesday. I called for an appointment and he was packed Tuesday and Wednesday. He is out of the office on Thursdays and is leaving town early tomorrow morning for the weekend. He was out of town last weekend too. When I went into the emergency room last Thursday night, he was gone.
I texted Bob a little bit ago and asked if he was at his Lion's Club breakfast yet and he must have just been getting up. He wasn't sure he was going to go. I reminded him that he had paid his dues and he should go. He may go now. He has 45 minutes to get there.
More later....
He later texted me again and said he had missed his meeting. It started at 6:30 and not 7:30. He said he was confused about the time. He was also depressed. He has bouts of depression from time to time...mostly over Dennis, his son.
He came over while I was baking cookies and drank a cup of coffee. He had been to Braums and bought a sausage biscuit. He watched me bake the cookies and tried one out . They were sugar cookies with a chocolate star in the center.
I suggested we go to Bartlesville and eat at Pies and Such. He thought that was a good idea and volunteered to drive. I took some chicken and noodles over to Karan and Bobby and then we left.
We had a great lunch and pie for dessert. It was peach raspberry...very good!
We got back at 2:00..in time for him to go home for a nap. He felt better.
More later....
Bob came over before 6:00 to watch the news and stayed until 7:00. He went home and I had my bath and Missy and I watched TV until 9:00, when we went to bed.

Wednesday and Exercises
I think I may go to exercise class this morning. I am feeling like myself again. I need to vacuum today too. I never did get that done on Monday.
We will have chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes and a veggie for lunch today. I have pistachio pudding for dessert too. Bob may bring a salad.
It's another very windy day. This entire week has been windy. It's March...I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
They may have games this afternoon and if so, I may go. I have enjoyed the games on Wednesday afternoons lately. If I go, I will vacuum tomorrow instead of today.
More later....
I decided against exercises this morning and instead vacuumed the apartment. I will go to game day this afternoon.
I sent a couple more photos of Joyce's house to Howard and Judy. There would need to be quite a bit to be done if I were going to buy the house. The yard needs some help. The flower beds need to be lined with stone and filled with fresh dirt.
The paint needs to be spruced up inside. The range needs to be repaired. The last tenant broke one of the knobs. It has never been properly cleaned with a scraper and since it is a glass top,way that's how you clean off burned on food. I would rather have folding doors on the closets instead of wide flat doors.
The entire south side is windows. There would have to be some sort of blinds made for them. Drapes would make the rooms way too dark. I would use Roman blinds or even vertical blinds or bamboo blinds. Otherwise, it's way too open.
Judy and Howard would rather have closed garages instead of open carport doors. The only way they would have a "walk right in" type house is if they built one new. In today's world, that doesn't happen much any other way.
More later...
This door is a single door like my son and daughter-in-law are going to use as double garage doors on their new home.
Pretty isn't it?
They did have games at the senior center this afternoon and I did attend and had a good time playing SkipBo.
Later after I had read the newspapers and watched the news, Bob came over and stayed until 7:00 when he went home. Then I took my bath and watched "Nature" on PBS with Missy. Missy loves "Nature". She watches the animals intently.
I went to bed at 9:00. I felt much better today...almost completely back to normal.
We will have chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes and a veggie for lunch today. I have pistachio pudding for dessert too. Bob may bring a salad.

Tuesday and Cakes
I slept well last night and when I got up I got around and dressed and later ate my oatmeal and drank a cup of coffee. I feel a little better this morning but after my breakfast I took one of my last two antibiotics and they usually make me queezy. I am hoping for the best.
Bob and I will leave a little early this morning so we can drop by Phyllis' and leave her a second quarter schedule for church. Her computer couldn't open Leslie's attachment and she usually does the church bulletins so she needs to know who is presiding each week.
We will take the cakes up and then I will go to my hair appointment. After that, I will go by Juanita's and balance her checkbook. Depending on how my stomach feels by then, we may go out to Great China and eat lunch. I am hoping I am on the mend at last. This all started last Thursday.
This morning all over the news is news of the two terrorist attacks in Brussels Belgium. Terrorism is the new modern war. It is hardest to detect ahead of time. And people are willing to be suicide bombers and die while doing all the damage. The news people and our government keep saying these people hate our culture and that's why they are doing this. It's not our culture they hate...it's our constant long term interference in their politics and their culture.
In another hour, I will leave to pick Bob up for our trip to Independence.
More later....
We got the cakes delivered and I got my hair done then went over to Juanita's and got her check book balanced. After that I picked up Bob at Betty's and we went to eat at Great China. We had lemon chicken. It was very good. Then we came back home to Coffeyville and I took Bob back to his apartment to take his nap. I came back home to try to get a doctor's appointment to follow up on my urinary tract infection.
More even later....
I couldn't get in to see my doctor until next Monday. They had no appointments open for Wednesday, his office is closed on Thursday and he is leaving early Friday morning for another out-of-town trip. He was gone last weekend when I went to the emergency room. I finally started feeling 100% again this afternoon.
Marilyn called and wanted us to go look at Joyce's house again for Howard and Judy. I took my camera and took photos. I sent four off to them later. Only three could go because of their size. Judy was able to open the three but couldn't open the last one. I guess I'll send them one at a time next time. Hopefully, they will go that way.
When I deleted the e-mail from my outbox, I could no longer send anything. I e-mailed both Judy and my daughter from my old small laptop that is still running the XP operating system. That's the best operating system Microsoft ever came up with. However, It no longer gets support from them.
I called Keith and he got it fixed in about 5 minutes. It's great to have a genius in the family (and a personal IT)

Monday and Housekeeping.
I don't think I'm going to exercises today. I still don't feel very strong and my stomach is still a little queezy. But I slept pretty well last night despite the mix up in my meds. I never heard anything back from Melissa, my doctor friend, so I must not have done anything irreversible.
I have stripped my bed and will wash my sheets and pillowcases besides the other small stuff in my laundry.
I will do my bare kitchen and bathroom floors today and perhaps dust but will leave the vacuuming until I feel stronger. ..perhaps Wednesday. Today I also have to bake and ice a cake for the First Christian Church tomorrow.
I'll make up my face and try to do something with my hair. I'm still rather wiped out. Maybe it will be better after I eat some oatmeal.
More later...
Well, I had to take another Tums. I am just queezy. I wonder how long this will last? I imagine as long as I am taking antibiotics this will be the norm.
I've remade my bed and am really tired again. Later I will do the bare floors in the bathroom and kitchen.
Missy wants to go outside. It's just beginning to get light but it is 28 degrees out there and I am not going out and she doesn't go out by herself.
More even later...
I took Missy out about three times for just a little while. It is chilly out there.
I had thawed out a steak John and Leslie had given me some time ago and I fixed that and a baked potato and broccoli for lunch. I had pudding for dessert.
Bob went home afterward, He had taken a Benadril for his allergies and was getting sleepy. I have done about all I'm going to do today. I am tired already and it's only 12:30.
I will try to read my Kindle.
More even later.
I finally heard from Melissa and she said just one extra antibiotic shouldn't hurt me. That's good!
I read for quite awhile this afternoon and later this evening Bob came over to watch TV here. He stayed until 7:00 and when he left I took my bath and watched TV until 9:00 with Missy. Then I went to bed.

Sunday and Presiding at Church
I am presiding at church today and am hoping I get to feeling a little more normal before lunchtime. It has been a challenge to find anything that doesn't turn sour in my stomach. I had a little oatmeal for breakfast so I could take my meds. But lunch will be a challenge. So far, I have lost 5 pounds over this mess. The antibiotic kills all the bacteria in my gut and leaves my stomach unsettled.
I slept pretty well last night thanks to Tums.
My kids have stayed in touch with me and I assume they are concerned about my problem health episode. I am happy they are doing that. Bob has also contacted me again this morning to check on my progress. He has been a godsend.
I am presiding at church so I really need to go. Outside of going to Walmart yesterday and breakfast early yesterday morning, I stayed in the apartment yesterday. I certainly didn't rake leaves. It's cold outside again and I don't feel like getting cold even to rake.
I am hitting the antacids again. My stomach is still queezy. Darn antibiotics!
More later....
Well, church went fine. We had a guest who is our Mission Center group C leader, Cindy. Bob and Phyllis and I invited her to come with us to "Just Us", the buffet restaurant over at Cherryvale. She really seemed to enjoy her lunch and we had a good visit.
So far, my stomach is doing fine and I haven't had to take any Tums. I'm not holding my breath though.
I will get my newsletter done and then print it off for those who don't have e-mail and send it out to those who do.
More later....
I made a mistake. I forgot I took my second antibiotic after my lunch at 2:30 and took another at 5:30 after my yogurt. These are Nitrofurant 100 MG BID and I have had 300 MG today instead of 200 MG. My doctor is out of town so I e-mailed a doctor friend of mine to see if that is going to be a problem. I hope I hear from her.
Hopefully I have not done anything that will hurt an organ. Time will tell.
