Saturday and Laundry

I got up pretty early this morning and have stayed busy most of the day with one thing or the other. I was going to do some laundry but didn't have enough for a load.

I got up about 5:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I had my oatmeal and a breakfast bar and when I looked outside my door I had five cats, Scruffie and the two remaining kittens along with two of the older yellow cats were waiting for their breakfast too. I fed them all and they left.

I watered the plants and deadheaded them too. I read in my latest free Amazon book and then at lunchtime I had a chicken pot pie and an ice cream bar for dessert.

I didn't vacuum today after all . My arm was sore today and I didn't want to aggrevate it. I can do it tomorrow after I watch the church service on Zoom.

Suzanne called and had some fruit for me. I had a kiwi before lunch.  She said she would bring the bananas over after lunch...sometime in the afternoon

I played Freecell some in the afternoon and then read some more. I also watch "Lucky Dog" which I had recorded this morning while I was reading.

I had a problem watching the recorded program and noticed something in the program had changed and it would not play what I had recorded. I fooled with it until I finally figured it out and then finally got it fixed.

Suzanne came and brought my bananas  and I bagged them in with a paper towel then refrigerated them. I will have one for supper.

Once again I had the entire post erase itself. So I reconstructed what I had written this morning.

It's after 5:00PM now and at 5:30PM, I will change to channel 6 and watch the news.

More later....

I watched the news until it was finished  and then turned over to Amazon Prime. I watched another program I had not seen before called "Dr. G" about the work of a coroner.or medical examiner. I have watched all the episodes of "Forensics Files" so I was looking for something just as interesting.

Now it's 8:00PM and I have another hour before I go to bed. So I may play FreeCell for awhile and go yo bed at 9:00PM ..I have had indigestion off and on all day. I haven't eaten any thing for supper not even my banana. I don't want to put anything else in my stomach. I have taken three or four antacids this afternoon.

Friday and Frozen Lunch

I slept very well last night although I woke up after 4:00AM and just got up then. I dressed and got around for the day. I had my breakfast and coffee and am working on my chai now.

When I opened the door this morning Scruffy and her two surviving kittens were just waiting for breakfast, Also Big Yellow Tom and one of the adolescent yellow cats were also waiting there so I took out the double dish, two blue ones and a square one. They have mostly eaten and gone except to Scruffie and the older yellow kitten and the black small kitten are still eating. Scruffie is having water. None of them came for supper last night so no wonder they are so hungry. The two kittens are looking in the window of the storm door like they would like to be inside. That isn't going to happen.

I will vacuum the dining room this morning and then dust the apartment again. Then I need to go out to Dollar General for a few things. I may drop over to Nancy's and visit with her. It has been a week. She might like to have lunch together. I will check.

More later....it is nearly 6:00AM. Soon I will text Bob and see if he is alright this morning.

He was fine. It was raining in the sunshine in Coffeyville but not here in Caney. ...17 miles west of Coffeyville.

I finally went to Dollar General and bought what I needed as well as got some cash. I only had $10.00 left in my purse.

The mail should be here shortly unless Charles is running late. I will check and see if he has been here.

More later...

I just got junk mail today.

I had a frozen meal for my lunch and afterward an ice cream bar for my dessert. I didn't vacuum the dining room today because for some reason, my arm has been sore again. I didn't want to aggravate it.

I played my game again for awhile and then  turned on the TV to watch Amazon Prime.

Now it's nearly 5:00PM now and the CBS news will be on shortly.

At 7:00PM, I will take my bath and then go to bed at 9:00PM.

Thursday and Vacuuming

I slept well until shortly after 5:00AM when I finally decided to just get up. I had my sleep out.  I have dressed and had my breakfast of oatmeal and a breakfast bar and coffee and I am having my Chai Latte now. And I had three cats come for breakfast....no kittens this time. Scruffie and two yellow cats came. I don't know where the yellow and black kittens were. They usually come and eat too along with their mother, Scruffie.

I have written my check for my car insurance and apartment contents insurance. I have it ready to go in the mail today. I put it out on the mailbox and put the flag up so Charles will take it when he delivers the mail today.

Next month is my car registration and tag. I don't know whether I have to do that by mail or online or whether the tag office in Coffeyville will be open. I will check that out before August when it is due.

I will vacuum today and perhaps do some laundry.

More later...

I have watered my plants and swept off my little patio. My neighbor had trimmed his yard and the grass piled up under the gate all over my little patio. I got a broom and swept it into his yard.

Leslie sent out a text asking anyone with a computer or smart phone to download Zoom.us so we could meet together as a congregation that way and at least get to visit and have the fellowship. Unfortunately, that leaves out anyone without a computer or smart phone. There are about six in that situation.

More even later. I had better get something done before 8:00AM when the CBS news comes on.

I played my game waiting until the CBS news came on. While I was doing that, my granddaughter, Ashley, called and we talked for two hours. She was upset with her father and had not been speaking to him for some time.... since January.  She was very angry. I heard her out for the first hour and then attempted to reason with her. I told her the anger was going to make her sick. The only person who is really hurt by anger that they cannot let of ... is themselves. I told her she only has one mother and one father and if something happens to her father during this pandemic or even afterward, she will not be able to forgive herself for holding the grudge. In the meantime, her anger has led her seek professional help. That doesn't seem to be helping and I told her the only way she was going to be able to get past her anger is to decide to forgive him and make up with him. I told her about an experience of my own that I resolved that way. After we hung up she contacted her father and they spoke for the first time in months, He called me and was so happy to have had that resolved that he choked up. Needless to say, I missed the CBS news. No problem, that resolution is far more important.

Then I vacuumed the apartment....all but the dining room.  I will do the dining room tomorrow. It is quite a mess to do. I have to get the chairs out from under the table to vacuum that room. Then afterward, I will dust again. I also mopped both floors..the kitchen and the bathroom.

Suzanne told me yesterday that after the pandemic is over, she will let me choose some new flooring for my kitchen and bathroom at Lowe's.The linoleum in those rooms is badly worn. It is probably the original flooring. I am so pleased about that. However, it will probably be awhile before the pandemic is over.

The Schwan's man came and brought my ice cream bars. I didn't order anything else this time. I have lost three pounds and would like to lose another three to five so I will have to ration the ice cream bars. Sitting around all winter and spring has taken a toll on my weight. I need to get it off if I can. I miss the mowing but I just can't do it this year. That one year made all the difference. I will be 85 in December.

More later...It is 3:50PM now.

I turned off the TV  after the CBS news and read until I finished my book. Then I came into the den and played FreeCell again. Then I took my bath at 7:00PM or shortly afterward and played the game until bedtime.

I haven't seen the cats since early morning. They didn't come for supper this evening and only one yellow cat came at lunchtime. I haven't seen the two remaining kittens all day.

Well back to my game. It's only  8:15PM so I have awhile until bedtime.

Wednesday and Breakfast in Coffeyville

I will pick up Bob at 7:00AM and we will go to breakfast at Eggberts there in Coffeyville. They are diligent about keeping everything spotless and they all wear face masks.  After I take Bob home, I will go out to Woodshed and buy gas and then go on to my hair appointment at 9:00AM. After that I will go out to Walmart and buy the five things I have on my grocery list. Then I will come on back home and have my lunch at Sonic. I will get a Wacky Pack for $2.18 including tax.

When I opened the door I had five cats waiting for their breakfast. It was Scruffie and her two kittens, one of the adolescent yellow cats and Big Yellow Tom. They are gone now and I had better get those dishes in before the ants find them.

I have been watching my food to try to lose some of the five pounds I have gained since all this began. I have lost three of them by just being careful in the past week and a half.  I hope by this time next week I will be back to where I want to be.

I killed two more spiders in the bathroom this morning. One was a large black spider and one was a small one. That is three in just the last two days and I killed a brown recluse last week. I may ask Steve to come and spray. He sprayed when I moved in here a year and a half ago.

So, more later...

I picked up Bob shortly before 7:00AM and we went to breakfast. After I took him home I went to get gas and then to Wal Mart to get my groceries. Then I went to get my hair done.

I turned on the TV when I got home and learned that Governor Stitt from Oklahoma has developed the Coronavirus. He is the first Governor that has developed it so far. So he will be isolated for awhile.

I did go to Sonic and get the Wacky Pack for my lunch. How can you beat $2.18 for lunch.

More later...

I watched several episodes of Forensic Files and then went in to the den to play a FreeCell card game on the laptop. And I did eat a banana for my supper. I bought them this morning at Wal Mart. Suzanne came and brought me some green grapes and some Kiwi, I don't think I have ever had that fruit before and am not sure how to peel it even to eat it. She is going to have Steve come and spray for the spiders next Wednesday when I am in Coffeyville.

I need to go back over to Shelter Insurance at Coffeyville and pay for my car insurance and the insurance on the contents of the apartment.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and got ready for bed. I will go on to bed at 9:00PM

Tuesday and Trimming the Yard

I slept until 6:00AM this morning. I awoke about 1:00AM this morning with my dry skin itching. I was unable to get back to sleep with the itching so I got up and took an antihistamine.  That really knocked me out but it stopped the itching.

I have had my breakfast and fed the five cats that came for breakfast. Scruffy came with her remaining two kittens., the black one and the yellow one.  Two bigger yellow cats came too. One was  Big Yellow Tom and the other was one of the adolescent cats from the last litter.

More later....

I have been watching the CBS news. They are discussing the name change of the Washington football team. It took sponsors pulling their sponsorships for the  owners to finally listen and decide to do the right thing.  Calling Native Americans "redskins" is tantamount to calling black Americans "niggers". They are just as offending.

It's 9:25AM now and I will watch this news until it is over at 10:00AM. Then maybe I can go trim the yard. The trash collectors have not come yet
and I want to put that trash container away as soon as they do.

More even later...

I got the yard trimmed early before it got too hot.

Suzanne came and brought me the Bartlesville newspapers her sister saves for her.

I got a Church Brief ready for the Journal newspaper and sent it off to the Journal for Saturday's paper.  I had to send it off with the laptop computer because the mail program Outlook does not get along with Cox cable. I also made up some letters for the congregation and got them in the mail.

I ate the other half of my sandwich from yesterday for my lunch today. Then I had an ice cream bar for dessert.

Then I went in the living room  and watched some Forensic Files.

More later...

I took my bath at 7:30PM and put my pjs on. I never did hear any more from Suzanne.  I turned the TV off after watching a couple more of episodes of Forensic Files.

I intend to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Monday and Another Boring Day

I slept pretty well last night but still got up earlier then usual. I dressed and got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast . Several cats and kittens came for their breakfast and two of them, Scruffie and one of her kittens (the yellow one) stayed in hopes of getting more food. The ants find it before they completely finish it. I have to kill ants when I bring their food bowls in. That's aggravating.

I don't have a plan for today. I got everything thing done Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Krystal mowed yesterday evening so the yard looks nice. She does an even better job then the girls.

I even went to Dollar General and got what groceries I could get there yesterday afternoon. They didn't have any of my Hazelnut coffee but I am not quite out of it so maybe I will make it until Wednesday when I can go to Walmart and get my bananas as well.

They are requiring face masks at Dollar General or you are not supposed to come in. Every business needs to do that for the protection of their clerks as well as the customers.

The yard is wet this morning but when it is dry, I will go out and trim. I did go out and sweep off the walks and drive. But that's when I noticed it needed to be trimmed again. I also watered my plants. They look real good.

The strange loud noise from the refrigerator yesterday afternoon has not resumed. I don't know what it was but will keep an eye and an ear on it. I don't want to lose everything in the frig and freezer. I did text Suzanne about it but never heard anything back from her. If it happens again, I will call her. She evidently doesn't check her texts much.

More later...

Suzanne finally checked her messages and got hold of me about the frig. I told her it just made that loud noise for a short time...perhaps a half hour...then it quieted down again and I haven't heard anything strange out of it since. Strange...

Leslie contacted me med morning and asked me to come up to Anna Mae's in Independence to have lunch with her. So I got around and started up there. As I pulled out of the driveway, I saw something like a black rag lying in the street in front of my neighbors apartment. It wasn't a rag. It was one of Scruffie's little gray kittens and it was dead. I was heartsick. I parked my car and got a trash bag from the kitchen and put the kitten's body in that and put in in the trash container out in front to be picked up tomorrow. I don't have a shovel so I couldn't bury it.  I was just sick about it. Earlier I had noticed that for a couple of weeks I hadn't seen the other gray kitten so I thought someone may have adopted it or perhaps someone ran over it somewhere else. I hadn't seen a body though so it is still a mystery.

Now there is just the yellow kitten and the pitch black one.

I enjoyed my lunch with Leslie and we also looked around in the Sayers Ace Hardware  after lunch. She bought a birthday card for Keith. His birthday is August 3rd.

And I brought half of my sandwich home for tomorrow's lunch.

More later...

I worked on the blog and played games part of the afternoon and then read in my Kindle one of the free books I get from Amazon.

My neighbor came over and borrowed my mower. She is having the daughter of Krystal do her mowing. She is pregnant now and is having morning sickness. She had to quit her job.  One of the girls mowing accidentally hit a stump and bent the frame of their mower. I filled mine with gas and in a short time she had the mowing finished.

I never did get the trimming done yesterday. Maybe I can get that done tomorrow.

I watched some Forensic Files and took my bath at 7:00PM and went to bed at 9:00PM

Sunday and Online Church

I was adding some to Sunday's post and suddenly the entire post disappeared. That had never happened before.

There wasn't a lot in it to lose I guess.

I did mention seeing on the news where some young people were having Covid parties to see if anyone got the virus. One 30 year old said just before he died that he had thought the entire virus thing was a hoax but he guessed he was wrong.  He was on a ventilator and he died right after saying that.

Also, I tried to watch the evening church service  on Zoom but every time a different person was prepared to do their part, they would not appear. The screen would go black and the words "Ted Tinsman" would appear on the screen (Ted was the administrator) and only a small part of the other person's contribution would show up on the big screen. Most of it would be in one of the small individual windows.  I finally just gave up and turned it off.

Anyhow...I missed the service
