Saturday and No Particular Plan

I slept well last night. Of course I had taken two Melatonin pills and an allergy pill so I expected to sleep well. I was also exhausted. I had talked to Cox Complete Care three times yesterday and also had spent the morning trying to balance my checkbook. That was futile. I had also gone over to the bank in Coffeyville and had them try to balance it. We never did find the problem.

I finished the two books I had checked out at the Coffeyville library on Wednesday. Then I wanted to print off a copy of the paper Ron Dawbarn and I had worked up for a presentation for the John Whitmer Historical Association several years ago. It had been one of the things I had in my documents on the desktop computer.  That Icon of documents was on my desktop and I had access to dozens of documents. Something changed. The document Icon was no longer on the computer screen. I have a separate drive on the Computer Console but I knew if the other separate drive could be accessed, they would all be there.

I had a woman tech from Cox Complete Care work on it in the afternoon and she was able to access the document folder from One Drive but I had never used One Drive and didn't want to because it was just another place to have to come up with a password for.

I called Cox Complete Care again last evening and had another woman  try to bring up the document I wanted but One Drive would not let us print it off. Finally after an exhausting day, I told her I needed to go to bed.

I need to be able to print off that document and any document in that folder because I use the format I find there for the class newsletter in December. So I must have access to the information in that document file and be able to print it off.

I will need to call Cox Complete Care again this morning after breakfast.

I did get the weather forecast for the week from the TV this morning. Today is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy and windy.  Tomorrow is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 86 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 82 degrees scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and . Friday is to be 82 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. It looks like at least tree days of badly needed rain!

More Later..

I decided to mail off that document the woman at Conference  wanted from me and I went to the post office and it was not open yet so I used Keith's gift card and had breakfast at Eggbert's here in Caney.  Then afterwards I went to the post office and mailed that package off.  Keith had teamviewered me this morning and after he worked on my computer I managed to print off the document she wanted. While I was there I also bought some more stamps.

More Later

I mowed the back yard. It had a lot of leaves in it and I had raked and picked up what I could yesterday but there were still a lot of my neighbor's leaves in my back yard. So I gassed up the mower and mowed them into the bag and dumped the bag into the black leaf bag and swept up what I could of what came out of the bag after I dumped it too.

As long as it's relatively cool I can mow the little stuff. The back yard is small and it's just 73 degrees out there. Jeromy will be coming Tuesday to mow the rest. If it's nice I may get the front done too.

I went to Independence and had lunch at Big Cheese and then dropped by the Dairy Queen and got a medium Turtle Pecan Blizzard. Then I stopped at Miller Brothers and had the man working there fill my car with gas.

When I returned, I called Cox Complete Care and the young man that helped me there got my printer to work and printed off the material I was wanting.

Now I will go back to my book. I got two more this morning at the Caney library.

Friday and the Exterminator comes this morning

I slept well last night and was up early as usual. I have not seen the cats yet but I did catch the weather forecast first thing this morning,

I have not had my breakfast yet either.

Today is to be 75 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 91 degrees and partly cloudy,  Sunday is to be 89 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 88 degrees and Isolated thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Thursday is to be 81 degrees and scattered thunderstorms.  That's the week..we can sure use the rain!

I will go check on the cats again and fix my own breakfast.

I fixed my breakfast and ate it. Then Blondie came for his breakfast and I fed him and then put away the cat food  after I waited awhile to see if Scruff was going to come to eat. She never showed up.

I spent the afternoon trying to balance my checkbook. It never balanced,  I couldn't find the error at all. I am over $305.72 off and I cannot find it. ''The exterminator came and discovered the chirp I was hearing was the smoke detector. It sounded just like a  cricket to me. I had a battery but the exterminator couldn't take the thing apart to insert my new battery. He was afraid he would break it. Stephen will fix it with my battery when he comes after his work.

In the meantime, I will go over to Coffeyville to the bank and see if they can find that huge error.

I went to the bank in Coffeyville and the officer there could not find the error either.

I hope it will all workout eventually.

The exterminator came and it wasn't crickets at all. It was the smoke alarm. It needed the battery changed. Luckily, I had a new battery and Stephen came by and changed it out. The exterminator sprayed some and left some bug traps around the apartment so if I do have any bugs, they will be trapped.

More Later...

I took my bath and was watching a movie called "Dog" but the dog was violent and I just couldn't watch it. I turned it off. It was a movie on my Amazon Prime. It's 7:30PM now and I texted Esther but I heard nothing back from her. I asked her if my 7:00PM would be good with her and she said yes, So I texted her. But they must be very busy this evening.

I guess I will just watch some TV. I have read both of the books I got at the Coffeyville library.  I will take them to their drop on Wednesday.

I will watch some TV until 9:00PM when I plan to go to bed.

I could no longer access my Documents and called Cox Complete Care about it and got a tech to help me. She did something that brought up the documents but they are way too small and whatever she did to the program now the computer won't let me print off the document I need a copy of. When I discovered that, I called again and got another tech and she worked almost an hour on it and it's nearly 10:00PM now and I will have to stop and go to bed. I am exhausted and need to get to bed.

Between working on my checkbook all morning and on this computer glitch all evening, I have had quite a day.

Thursday and Cleaning the Apartment

I slept fairly well last night.and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day, I got in the living room just in time to catch the weather forecast.

Today will be 68 degrees and rain, Tomorrow will be 81 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 93 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 90 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 85 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 86 degrees and PM thunderstorms. That's the week's forecast. There is some rain in it and that's good. We are desperate for rain for the river that provides our water for Caney.

I haven't checked for the cats yet. I have fixed my breakfast and maybe I had better check on theirs.

So More Later...

I couldn't get into my blog on the desktop computer so I had to come to the new laptop to blog. The desktop computer wanted my google password and I couldn't find it in my passwords so I tried to make up a new one. That didn't work either .

Anyway, here I am on the laptop. I hope this works. I need to start my cleaning. Well that worked, thank goodness!!

More Later

I finished my first library book from the Coffeyville

library and also finished the apartment cleaning..all but the dusting.I will do that tomorrow.

More Later...

I went to work on Outlook and could not find it. It had downloaded but when I attempted to access it, I  could not figure it out. It was suddenly all different.

Then the same thing happened on the laptop. I called Cox Complete Care and the tech that helped me worked for  couple of hours to get everything back like it was supposed to be.

Thank goodness for Cox Complete Care It's 5:57PM now and I have been on these computers most of the afternoon.

More Even Later

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read until bedtime at 9:00PM

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well again last night with cotton in my ears to keep out the sound of the crickets. I was up as usual at 5:00AM, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am eating my breakfast now here in the den...as usual, it's oatmeal, a breakfast bar and coffee and Chai Latte. God forbid I should have anything else. :)

Stephen said last evening that the exterminator will be here to spray for these crickets on Friday. I will be glad if he can get rid of them. The chirping noise is irritating. And I am sure they are eating something...I don't want to know what.

I will get my hair done at 8:30AM or thereabouts and then go get a pedicure after 10:30AM sometime. My toenails are getting long and I cannot find my toenail clippers. Besides, it's been months since I had a pedicure.

Now I will go check on the weather and hopefully, the cats.

Not only did I catch both cats out there but I also got the weather forecast. They ate quite a bit this time and then left. I left the food out there for awhile in case they come back for seconds.

Now for the forecast...Today is Wednesday and is forecast to be 78 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 71 degrees and Thunderstorms, Friday is to be 83 degrees and AM Clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 91 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 86 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 86 degrees and  scattered thunderstorms. I see the thunderstorms are still in the forecast..at least three days. We sure need it here in Caney. The river that provides our water is very low.

I see the blind here in my den is broken. I can't raise it anymore. Only one side goes up when I try to raise it. I don't know how to fix it so I guess I will just leave it down. Maybe when Leslie gets back from Arkansas she may know how to fix it.

More Later...It's 6:29AM  I will go watch the news now.

I had to reboot both computers to get an internet connection just now. That's Cox for you...always something...

I left at 8:15AM for my appointment for my hair. Then I went to get my pedicure at Happy Nails. After that, I went to the Coffeyville library and checked out two books to read this week. I went out to Brakms and bought a medium milkshake for my lunch. Then I went back to the library and read until time for Bunco.

I had a good time but ate too much junk food there. The fellowship was good.

Karan wasn't there. She had forgotten about her Bunco. She was working on her sermon for Sunday. I visited with her for quite awhile. Then I came back home. My City of Caney bill was here. It was almost $100.00 and that's just the water and trash. I still have the electric bill to pay and the gas. I have already paid the cable and Atmos Energy bills. Atmos Energy was almost $100. The cable was  $131.26 for the very basic cable and internet. It's highway robbery, The TV picture often tears and the internet was down again this morning on both computers. I had to reboot both computers to even get a signal. The only good thing about it is Cox Complete Care and I pay extra for that. Baloney!

Tuesday and Laundry

I slept pretty well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

This evening after 4:30PM, my grandson, Jeromy, will come mow my west side yard. I got the front and the back done myself but the west side yard is really hard for me to do. It's much larger. He was going to mow for me while I was gone to conference but it rained and rained and he couldn't do it. I was up to it Saturday so I did the part I could and left the rest for him.

I need to do some laundry this morning. I usually do it on Monday but I didn't get it done yesterday. So I will do it today.

Now I will check to see if the cats are here for their breakfast and fix my own breakfast too.

So, More Later...

No cats were there yet but I was just in time to catch "the weather on the 8's"

Today is to be 73 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 76 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 76 degrees and Thunderstorms, Friday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 91 degrees and Isolated thunderstorms, Sunday is to be scattered thunderstorms. Monday is to be 87 degrees and Isolated thunderstorms. A pretty good chance for some much needed rain here in Caney.

More Even Later. I want to fix my breakfast.

I had my breakfast and started my laundry. It's finished washing now and I will put it n the dryer before taking my walk.

I have been watching Good Morning America. After I take my walk, I will read awhile while the laundry dries.

More Even Later..

I almost forgot to take cookies to the First Christian Church in Independence today for their supper tonight.  I was supposed to buy cookies for myself and Billie Jo and Mike. So I left at 8:30AM and when I got to Independence, I stopped at the market across from the Church and bought our cookies. Then I honked as I went by the pastor's office and he came and took them from me. He said the last time we would need them this summer was in two weeks and then they are going to take a break from the dinners until fall. So I will need them again on the 14th of May and then we will see if they start them up again in the fall or winter.

Then I came back home.

I read until the laundry was dry and then I put it all away after folding it.

Then I read until lunch time. I went out to Eggbert's and used some more of my gift card from Keith and Esther for my lunch. I still have almost $30.00 left of it. I stopped at the gift store and bought a beautiful hanging plant.

Now I  am thinking of buying another one for Stephen and Dee Anna.  I would have to water it when I water mine and be careful not to waste any water. But they are gorgeous and only $20.00 and they are huge. I will mull that over. I don't want to offend them. But I do have an extra hook and it is in the back where no one could enjoy the flowers.

I went over to their apartment and checked it out. They don't have a flowerbed in front or even in the back so I will mull that over some more.

I trimmed the hedge as well as I could, Some of it was dead from lack of water so I trimmed that out. Hopefully, it will come back and fill in again.

It's 3:37PM now and I am very tired so I will go back to my book and read. Jeromy will be here in a little over an hour to mow the west side for me.

More Later..

Jeromy came and mowed the west side. He missed about eight feet of the south end of the west side. He may have thought it was part of the neighbor's yard. After he was gone and I noticed it, I got out the mower and finished it. I was very grateful he had done so much of the mowing. He said he would be back on Tuesday to do it again. He said he took Maia to her track practice on Tuesday evenings so he was coming to town anyhow. It will be wonderful if he decides to do it all the time. When it gets hot he may decide to let me pay someone to do it. :) He is a fine young man!

I noticed Stephen came and mowed his yard this evening too. I took him some cold water.

It's 8:32PM now and I have had my bath and finished both of the books I had from the library. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.  Stephen's exterminator will be coming on Friday to spray for these crickets and the termites too. Stephen is taking the conservative route first. That's what I would do too. If they are superficial, that may do it. If that doesn't get the termites, then he can decide to go another more complicated route.

Monday and a Trip to Bartlesville

I will be going down to Bartlesville but not to see Nancy. She is in the hospital and being treated for a serious Uti and a fall. Her son and his wife from North Carolina are there spending time with her.

I am going to drop by the community Center there and see if I can pick up my tickets to next year's concerts. Then I will meet Sally at the restaurant for her breakfast and my lunch.

I slept pretty well last night with cotton in the ear that is not next to the pillow. That is to keep out the noise of at least one and maybe even more crickets. Stephen, my landlord, is coming by on Friday to spray for them. I can't locate it/them. I have taken the furnace filter out and looked there, opened my storage closet and looked there, looked in my regular closet, but never- the- less I cannot find it or perhaps them. One sounds like it is behind my daybed...or perhaps behind the washer in the hall utility area where my washer and dryer are located.  There is also the noise of their chirp in that storage closet in the bedroom. There's a billion things in that area. It's a mystery! They weren't there when I left for my Conference but they sure were when I got back a week later...big time!

More later...I will go check on the cats and the weather report...

Well, no cats yet but I was just in time to catch the weather report for the week. Today is to be 71 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 73 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 76 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 78 degrees and thunderstorms, Friday is to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy and Sunday is to be 88 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. That's it for the week, We can sure use the rain  in this area. The river is still nearly dry.

Now I will go check again for the cats. More Later...

I took my walk this morning  and I got another grocery sack of trash along the street.

I didn't see the cats I feed anywhere this morning. But I did see someone's real nice dog while I was taking my walk. He's about the size of a German Shepherd and followed me all along State Street wagging his tail and let me pet him. I know he belongs to someone near here so I called the animal person at City Hall and told them about him. He has a part of a leash around his collar so he has broken loose from somewhere, He's got to be someone's pet. He's so nice and friendly.

I am going to read awhile before I leave for Bartlesville. It's only 9:25AM. I will leave in about an hour.

More Even Later...

I went to Bartlesville and washed my car first of all. After that, I went to meet Sally at Boulevard Restaurant and I had another light breakfast instead of the heavy meal that I usually get there. Sally and I had a good visit and afterward went to the Community Center to see if we could pick up our next season tickets to the concerts. We have to wait until they print them all off at the same time and they will e-mail us to tell us they are ready. I told them we would pick them up when we got their e-mail. Sally is down there three days a week where she works. I go down at least one day a week...usually to see Nancy, Of course she is in the hospital now and wasn't available for our usual visit. Her son and his wife were there from North Carolina. They come see her so seldom I didn't want to interrupt their visit with Nancy. I will see her when she gets out of the hospital.

When I got home, I read for awhile and then at 7:00PM, I took my bath. I will read again until 9:00PM when I plan to go to bed...with cotton balls in my ears in order to be able to sleep.

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night to take my two meds. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. Today we will have breakfast at church again and I have my coffeecake in the oven.

Scruff came for her breakfast this morning and I didn't see anything of Blondie. She ate her breakfast and left but stayed under the hedge so I left the cat food out there in case she wanted more or Blondie showed up for his breakfast.

Leslie will report on our conference experience today at church. She was very involved as Mission Center President and also High Priest and Mission Center Financial Officer. Our Mission Center is the largest in the church. She distributed the small devices we had to vote with when there was doubt about the count. Then she had to be sure to get them back after the conference. Any that were lost or retained cost $50.00 to reimburse the Conference.

I have gone to World Conference as a delegate for forty five years but this will be my last one. I will be 89 years old in two years when we have another World Conference.. It was all I could do to stay up with Leslie this year because she is taller, has longer legs, and walks faster then I can anymore. But it was a great experience for me as my last one. It was good to get back home though. We slept in John and Leslie's new camper. John towed it up there and set it up and came back up yesterday to tow it back home. It's a three hour drive. Leslie drove herself and me in her vehicle.

I think I have two or three crickets in the apartment. Stephen will come by and spray for them on Friday. I have been putting cotton in my ears at night so I can sleep. That has worked out fine so far.

I did catch the weather forecast this morning.Today is to be 68 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 71 degrees and and sunny, Tuesday is to be 73 degrees and sunny,  Wednesday is to be 75 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 77 degrees and PM Thunderstorms, Friday is to be 84 degrees and AM thunderstorms and Saturday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. That's it for the next week. We are to get some much needed rain two days at least.

I finally saw Blondie come for his breakfast but he barely ate before he left. I took the food back in the garage. Someone else is evidently feeding him too.

I got the coffee cake out of the oven and put the glaze on it when it was cool. Then later I covered it with Saran.

More Even Later.

I got the back yard mowed and Jeromy, my grandson, will mow the west side yard. It's too big for me to do unless it's cool. I could probably do it since it is cool but I know they would rather I didn't.

I learned from Dale, her cousin, that my friend, Nancy, who is in assisted living in Bartlesville is in the hospital now. She had a UTI when I was down there last Monday and it got a lot worse and then she fell too so they put her in the hospital. I will go down to the Community Center and pick up my tickets for next year's concerts and then have lunch with Sally after she has her lunch hour to have her breakfast. She doesn't eat when she is going to be in the pool. She does physical therapy in the pool at the YMCA in Bartlesville. Nancy's son and his wife are down there now so I won't go to see Nancy until she is released from the hospital. Maybe it will be another week.

More Later...
