Saturday and Thunderstorms

I was up at 5:00AM as usual this morning. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.  I fixed my breakfast bar and coffee and will soon drink my Chai Latte.

I went in the living room and turned on the light. Soon Blondie showed up and I fixed his cat food and took it out to him. He has eaten his fill and left now. Soon I will bring the cat food in the garage and cover it.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and the forecast is much the same. Today will be 91 degrees and PM thundershowers. tomorrow is to be 84 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 87 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 87 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 87 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 87 degrees and sunny and Friday is to be 88 degrees and sunny. Rain only today..the rest of the week hot and sunny.

I hear crickets out there chirping. I guess this is fall alright.

Friday and Thunderstorms

I was up early to the sound of thunder. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day and began eating my breakfast bar and drinking my coffee. I will check and see if Blondie is out front. I doubt it. It's too noisy. He never came yesterday and surely won't be out there this morning...with all the noise...and probably rain. I guess I will go check though and also turn on the TV.

Blondie did come for breakfast this morning He ate his fill and finally left even though it was raining lightly. I took the food in the garage and covered it after he left. 

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".  Today is to be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 89 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 85 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Monday is to be 86 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 84 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 83 degrees sunny and Thursday is to be 84 degrees and sunny. So today and tomorrow is all the rain forecast. The rest of the week is sunny.

I won't be taking a walk today. It's too rainy. In fact, I will probably be staying home and reading. 

After it stopped raining before lunch, I took my walk after all.

It's 2:58PM and I have just finished the first of the two books I checked out at the Caney Library. 

 More Later... It's 6:37PM and I had a small chef salad at Eggbert's this afternoon at a late lunch time. Then I read all evening until bath time at 6:15PM. I put my pajamas on after that and will start the second book this evening. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM or so.

Thursday and Early Arisal

 I slept pretty well last night but was up early this morning, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I checked a couple of times for Blondie but he was not out there yet. 

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is to be 84 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 81 degrees and AM thunderstorms,  Saturday is to be 86 degrees PM thunderstorms, and Sunday is to be 83 degrees AM thunderstorms, Monday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 81 degrees and mostly sunny,  and Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week! So rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I hope that develops! We sure can use it!

I took my walk about 7:15AM and got back home at 7:53AM. I dropped the first library book in the drop box at the Caney library. I still have the second book and am reading it now.

Blondie never did come for his breakfast this morning. Strange.... 

I never did see Blondie today. I might try again at the front door.

I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to the Dairy Queen for lunch. She did. I picked her up at 11:30PM and we went up there for their $7.00 special.

Suzanne came over this afternoon and brought me some papers for Karan and also took me out to Sonic for a Coke. We visited quite a while. She ate some supper there. I had had lunch so I wasn't hungry.

Suzanne told me my neighbors to the south of me are the folks that bought Nancy's house and moved in there. That house just south of me is for sale now.

At 6:15PM, I took my bath. I will read on one of the the library books I got at the library this afternoon. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Wednesday and Bunco

 I slept fairly well last night and was up  about 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I opened the front door and found Blondie ready for his breakfast. I took it out to him and he ate his fill and left. I will take his bowl in after I finish my blog.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and took a photo of it. Today is to be 83 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun,  Thursday is to be 83 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 88 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 82 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Monday is to be 82 degrees and mostly sunny and Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and mostly sunny. It looks like three days of possible rain. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and that's good! I hope it develops! We need it desperately!

More Later... 

I took my walk about 7:15AM and took the book I finished back to the book drop at the library. On my way back down Spring, I saw the kitten someone had hit and killed yesterday and put it up on the curb so it wouldn't be hit again. This time I had room in my sack and so I picked it up and put it in my trash bag. When I got home, I tied up the bag and put the trash and the dead kitten in my trash container. It was very tiny and I hated that it had been killed but at least someone had taken it out of the street and laid it on the curb.

Tragic!

I left for Coffeyville about 8:00AM and went to the bank first and took out a week's money. Then I went by Sonic and got a medium cherry limeade slush. That sat in the car while I got my hair done. Then I went to the library and checked out another book. I still have one from Caney's library but I got a new one from the Coffeyville's library. I read it at the senior center while I waited for time to put the chairs around the tables and put the score cards and dice out too. Soon everyone came and we began playing.We played until 3:00PM and then finished. I won most wins and that was $5.00. 

When I got back to Caney I bought the child's Wacky Pack at Sonic there. That was three chicken strips and french fries and a tiny Coke for $2.18. You can hardly beat that. I put the toy in a box in my trunk. Next time LeeAnn has a party for the children at church, I have a box of toys that are just right for prizes.

I took my bath at 7:00PM. I plan to read until 9:00PM when I will go on to bed.

 

 

Tuesday and Cookies

I was up shortly before 5:00AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door, Blondie was out front waiting for his breakfast. I got it out to him right away and he ate his fill and left.

I took my walk about  7:15AM and got back from it just in time to go out to the church to get Leslie's "yellow envelope" with the money from the retreat this past weekend.

First I caught "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 78 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 82 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, and Thursday is to be 83 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 82AM thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 86 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Monday is to be 80 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week. Rain Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday  and Sunday. That's a lot of rain. I hope it develops. We can sure use it and so can the Caney River! 

I ran by our church and picked up Leslie's yellow envelope at 8:00AM. 

Karan had got hold of me to say she didn't check her messages last night before she went to bed and she missed my notification that this was a cookie week. She was going to dress and go to the market to get her cookies.

Then I got hold of Karan again and told her I would buy her cookies too. That would save her having to get dressed and run to the market this morning and then out to our church. She agreed so I will get Karan's cookies to take up to Independence to the First Christian Church too.. but first I will stop at the market across the street from that church and buy Mike's and Billie Jo's and mine. They gave me money to do that several weeks ago. Then I will take all the cookies  to the First Christian Church.

Then I will take Leslie's yellow envelope out to her at her home and come on back home.

It is thundering and even lightening now. I don't know if we will get rain today or not. It sounds like it will rain. But we never know. We have several false alarms every month.

More Later....  It is raining now! But that didn't last long but perhaps it will start again later. PM thunderstorms are forecast this evening.

It's almost 7:00PM and I have had my bath and have my pajamas and robe on.

I think Stephen and Dee Anna have their grandchildren next door. I think they have risen their garage door and I saw a white dog run away from the the front of their duplex. Maybe the children have a pet.

I have a hair appointment tomorrow in Coffeyville at 9:00AM and then Bunco in the afternoon from 1:00PM until 3:30PM at the senior center.

Marilyn did the calling to find out how many will be there and Janet will set up the four tables and I will set up the chairs and put out the scorecards, dice, and tally lists.

Monday and a Walk

I slept well last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I have got myself dressed and ready for the day. I've had my breakfast bar and coffee and am working on my Chai Latte now.

Blondie showed up early again. He was very hungry and ate his fill and left. I have yet to bring his leftover food back into the garage and cover it. He may be back for a little more. I will wait awhile.

Monday (today) is to be 91 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 84 degrees and PM thunderstorms,  Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 84 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 80 degrees scattered thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Sunday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. It looks like rain Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and perhaps Saturday.  We can sure use the rain. Caney is very dry and the river is almost completely dry.

I went to the library this afternoon and checked out two more books. I began reading one of them. I also made up a letter for Ted Creed, the guest of Karan's that came to church yesterday and out to lunch with the three of us women afterward. He says he will be back Sunday. He seems quite nice and he is a retired elementary grade teacher. He lives across the street from Karan. It's 3:56PM now and I am tired reading. I guess I will check out TV.

Sunday and Church

I slept fairly well last night and was up once in the night to take my two meds. Then I was wide awake the next time. I baked my coffeecake and will glaze it when it cools.

Blondie came for his breakfast this morning.He didn't get any yesterday since I was at camp. He made up for it this morning though.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" at 6:28AM.  I have had my coffee and am having my Chai Latte now. As soon as it gets light out, I will take my walk. But first I will need to get the coffeecake out of the oven. It should be about done now. After it cools I will put a glaze on it.

Sure enough! It was done.  And as soon as it cooled, I put the glaze on it.

I got my walk done and picked up nearly an entire grocery bag of trash. I put it in my dumpster when I got back home at 7:38AM.
