Another Saturday

I will meet Bob A. for breakfast this morning and then come home and do some housework before I go to see Phyllis. Then I want to go to Bartlesville to Christopher and Banks and see if they have any spring colored jeans and maybe a new top for our trip to Branson next weekend. Then I need to get some mascara at the Merle Norman store there. I want to look at the discount malls in Branson for new underwear and bras.

Bob went yesterday while I was cleaning my patio so he probably won't want to come today. But I want to go anyhow.

The weather has been lovely. I hope it stays nice for our trip next weekend.

The following week will be busy. I have the Salvation Army luncheon on Tuesday noon and then library board meeting Tuesday evening at 5:00.

I will get my hair done Thursday morning before work at 7:00. We will be leaving Friday morning at 7:00 AM. We will stop at Crackerbarrel south of Joplin on the way down and have coffee and perhaps an order of toast. Then we will go straight to Branson and to Silver Dollar City when we get there. We don't check into our motel until 3:00. We will probably take in a show that evening after dinner.

The next morning we will go out to Branson Landing a look around. Phyllis F. has never seen that. After lunch on Saturday we will start back home. We want to be back for church on Sunday. It will be interesting to see what kind of tornado damage will be left in Branson. They had one there earlier this spring or late winter. Winter was so mild here that it's hard to recall which it was. Anyhow they got very busy and cleaned up what they could in anticipation of their tourist season.

Big Day!

I was going to clean house today but instead I decided to put together my new pressure washer and try to clean off the patio floor. It was easier then I thought. I have put it off for two weeks because I thought the instructions were Greek. It works great! I cleaned off the patio floor and will do it again later when I have all day to do it because after it dries the next time, I want to paint it with concrete paint and hope it sticks.

I got sidetracked so I didn't get it painted today but that's o,k. there's plenty of time. At least I got the patio cleaned up. I cleaned up the chairs too and noticed the cats have been sleeping in them and they are full of cat hair so I got my rollers out and cleaned them up and then put some old towels in them to protect them. I went back out there a while ago and Missy was up in one of them enjoying the towels.

The photo above is the photo I took of her there.

Thursday At Last

Today is the last day this week that I work. I am ready. Again, I am looking for work to fill the day. The office has slowed down and we will be having a furlough every other Friday in an effort to cut the budget. That won't effect me because I'm off on Fridays anyhow.

I didn't get my yard trimmed last evening. Maybe I can get it done tonight.

I have been sleeping a lot better lately. I don't know why except maybe my body has finally readjusted after not being woke up every half hour all night long. Much as I miss Slinky, I don't miss him waking me up continually all night long.

Tomorrow I will do some cleaning. It has been a week. The place doesn't look dirty but I know it is. I keep it neat.

This noon I will leave work a little early to go to Coffeyville Ministerial Alliance meeting at noon. This will be my last day to be secretary/treasurer. I simply cannot lose that much work. I can attend because if they run overtime, I can get up and leave if the meetings run long. I just can't continue as secretary/treasurer. They often go until 1:15 or even later. In May the new officers take over.

Work Again

I'll work again today. I'm not sure what I'll do. I filed before leaving last evening and they are having a hard time finding work for me to do.

I mowed last night. My mower's air filter needs cleaning but I'm not even sure where it's located. I also need to clean it up. Maybe I can get that done on Friday. It needs service but I have no way to get it to the dealer for service. It needs the blade sharpened too.

My plumbing also needs help. The sink is leaking and the garbage disposer has two broken blades and no longer works. The sink in the smaller bathroom is stopped up and needs to have hair cleaned out of it's drain. It's no fun being alone when everything starts falling apart.

My mattress needs turning around too. I could probably get my brother-in-law to help me do that. I can see a depression where I lie every night.

Lots of things to think about.

I'll trim my yard tonight if it doesn't rain.

Cakes Today

This is the day I take the cakes to Independence to the Christian Church. Wouldn't you know, it's raining. I hope it lets up when I take the cakes up there. It's hard to balance cakes and an umbrella.

I will go to work at 1:00. I make up the four hours I miss on the Tuesdays I do this by staying until 5:00 those weeks. This is payday week. It's good never to be completely broke since I have these extra hours.

Tonight I will watch the American Experience TV show. I watched PBS last night but finally gave up at 9:30 and went to bed. It was a huge day. One good thing about it is I am sleeping much better. This Friday is Good Friday and the office is closed. I am off Fridays anyhow.

I've been reading the blogs of some of my online friends. Some are discussing the political scene. Personally I think President Obama has done remarkably well considering the hostile opposition of the present Congress. Now it appears the Supreme Court will decide whether the health care law is constitutional. Here's the situation: Presently our tax dollars pay for the health care for those who either cannot afford the present exorbitant rates of the insurance companies, or they choose not to buy insurance. Therefore, we pay their bill. As far as whether the law is unconstitutional, if it isn't, neither is Social Security or Medicare. We are compelled to pay for those whether we want them or not. That is for the common good and so is national health care. We are the only first world country without it and we have some of the worst health care too. Look at the statistics.

I will vote for Obama's second term. He does relate to the common man. After reading the biography of Romney, I would not vote for him. Santorum is not even realistic and neither are the other candidates.

I mowed again after I got off work. It may rain again tonight or tomorrow.

Another Monday

This morning my hair was all curly q's. I jumped into the shower and washed my hair. After trimming the hedges at church Saturday, my hair was wet and that is the death knell for any style at all.

I work today and then after work, I will meet my daughter and her family to celebrate my grandson's 33rd birthday. After that, I must bake my cakes. Or I may do it early tomorrow morning before leaving for Independence. I'll play it by ear.

I slept like a baby last night. It had been such a busy weekend and yesterday just capped it off.

More later...

After work, I bought my grandson another birthday card and put in a dollar for each of his years. Then I went to meet the family for his birthday dinner. They brought the new baby, Cheyenne. Maia is up at Topeka visiting her other grandparents. We enjoyed our dinner and my son-in-law picked up the check.

I came home and baked my two cakes for the dinner at the Christian Church in Independence on Tuesday. I'll ice them in the morning.

Sunday Again

Today I will have church. I have the Palm Sunday sermon. It will be a little different.

Yesterday evening I tried to watch TV after I took my bath. I had worked hard and fell asleep in my chair. Finally at 9:00, I gave up and went to bed. I awoke at 2:30 and took my thyroid pill then went back to bed. I didn't get back to sleep until 4:00 and then only after I took a melatonin pill. I awoke again at 5:30. I feel wiped out right now. I fixed some coffee in hopes it would pick me up. We will go out to my daughter's for a cookout after church. Then tonight I have the Living the Questions group here. Sometime this afternoon I will fix a dessert for that meeting.

I did find some hanging plants out to Wal Mart yesterday afternoon and hung them on the patio. After our trip to Branson this month I will get three more at the nursery to hang in the front of my house. I will also get my bedding plants then. If I get them too early, no one will be here to water them. If I go to reunion (church family camp) in July, I will ask Bob A. or Cyndi to come water them for me. That is a week long camp.

It is beginning to get light now. When it does, I will take my coffee out on the patio and enjoy the cool morning.

We did go to church ad afterward to the cookout at my daughter's. Fifteen attended the cookout and it was very successful. The hamburgers were great. My daughter and son-in-law had ground up some of their steak and those were great hamburgers.

Tonight I had the Living the Questions group here. I had fixed my cherry pie cake and it went over well. I got to bed about 9:30, after I put my dishes in the dishwasher and started it up.
