Saturday and Library

 I slept very well last night and was up at 6:00AM, dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door the grey cat and Blondie were both waiting for their breakfasts. I fixed them both some and set it out front. They are eating now.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and here it is for this week.

Today is to be 40 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 48 degrees and  mostly cloudy, Monday is to be 44 degrees and rain, Tuesday is to be 34 degrees and light snow and wind,  Wednesday is to be 48 degrees and 43 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 43 degrees and mostly sunny and Friday is to be 25 degrees and snow. That's the week. A day of rain and a day of snow!  Some much needed moisture!

I read most of the morning and then ran  by the library and dropped the books in the book drop.  I put the last newsletter in the mail box outside the post office.

Then I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to Roger and Joyce's for lunch. She did.. so I picked her up at noon and we went up town to get a great sandwich and a coke. Afterward I took her home.

Then  I went by the library to check out two more books. I read the rest of the afternoon. At 6:30PM, I took my bath, put my pajamas on and will read awhile more before I go to bed at 9:00PM.

Phyllis Runnels called me this afternoon to tell me she got the newsletter but that I evidently did not get her e-mail with her news in it. I didn't get Trini Kelley's either. Dennis got a hold of me to tell me that earlier..... on e-mail.  That's too bad. If I had those two's news, the letter could have been longer then 4 pages.

Friday and the Exterminator

 I  slept well last night and was up at 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I opened the front door to Blondie waiting to be fed.  I got his food out thee for him and the next time I looked the grey cat was also out thee eating with Blondie. I took the other dish out there for that one.

Then I fixed my Chai Latte and breakfast bar.and came in the den to blog.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's"

Here it is. Today is to be 41 degrees and AM snow., tomorrow is to be 42 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 59 degrees and mostly cloudy, Monday is to be  45 degrees and rain, Tuesday is to be 35 degrees and AM snow and wind, Wednesday is to be 47 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 42 degrees and partly cloudy. It looks like we are going to get some moisture. I notice it is raining some now.

The exterminator is to come this morning to spray. He is to be here between 9:00AM and 11AM so I will stay home.

The exterminator came shortly after 9:00AM and sprayed the apartment for roaches and left some little traps around the apartment too.

Soon after that, I got a text from the drug store saying my two prescriptions were ready to be picked up. I went up there and got them picked up. Then went out to Dollar General and bought more wet cat food for the ferrel cats I feed.

I went to Independence and ate lunch late at after 2:00PM. I had a small Pizza.

I took my bath at 7:45PM and put my pajamas on and took my Melatonin in hopes of sleeping well again tonight.

I finished the second book I had checked out at the Caney library last week. Tomorrow I will take both of them back and check out two more to read.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I was up at 5:00AM this morning. I made my bed and got dressed and got myself ready for the day.  When I opened the front door the little grey cat was out there waiting for his/her breakfast. I fixed it and set it out there.  It's 28 degrees and this morning and way too cold for that cat to hang around. We are supposed to get 2 inches of snow too today.

I am eating my breakfast bar and drinking my Chai Latte.

Today is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 40 degrees and rain and snow. Saturday is to be 42 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 50 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 42 degrees and rain,  Tuesday is to be 36 degrees and AM snow showers. Wednesday is to be 47 degrees and mostly sunny. That the week! It looks like this week will bring rain and snow. We certainly need it.

When I went to Coffeyville yesterday for my hair appointment and Bunco, I stopped at the Coffeyville post office and mailed those Class Newsletters. It was sure small this year. Last year was 7 pages and this year it was 4 pages and that was two sheets with the news on both sides. It was the smallest newsletter ever. It may have to be my last one, It;s way too much of a job for no more participation that I get any more.. We were all 88 years old this past year, We have lost at least 161 classmates and that was just last year's count.  Last year I had 9 letters come back and there will probably be even more come back this year. It will be interesting to see how it goes.   

I had better get started on my cleaning. I was reading awhile ago and suddenly woke up. I had fallen asleep while reading.  It's 7:24AM now. 

I finally got the apartment cleaned. My back is really hurting now though. I guess I will take some Ibuprofen for it.  The only pain I usually have is my knees and my thumbs,,,especially the left thumb. I seldom take anything for it though. I hate to take unnecessary meds. I usually just put up with it but this time I did take some Ibuprofen. That took care of the pain.

I called Sally and asked her if she wanted to go eat out with me. She did...so I picked her up at noon and we went to Copan Restaurant and had a cup of soup and split a piece of pie.That is always good.

After cleaning, I read all the rest of the afternoon and finally took my bath at 7:00PM. I put my pajamas on and then went back to the book I was reading.

Tomorrow is Friday and the exterminator will be coming to spray my apartment for roaches. I don't see a lot of them but every couple of days I see one and pick it up with a paper towel and crush it and put it in the trash..Ugh! I hate those nasty things.  I clean thoroughly every week so I can't figure out how they get in, In fact I cleaned today.

 He is supposed to be here between 9:00AM and 11:00AM. So I will be sure to stay home between those hours.

Wednesday and Bunco

I was up before 5:00AM this morning. The envelopes I had to use for the Class Newsletter were low on glue. I had to put some scotch tape on them too. I hope the post office will accept that.

I opened the front door to the little grey cat waiting for his/her breakfast. I haven't seen anything of Blondie yet  but I did have my Chai Latte and a breakfast bar. I also saw "the weather on the 8's". 

Today is to be 48 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 46 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 38 degrees and rain and snow, Saturday is to be 42 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 45 degrees and rain Tuesday is to be 37 degrees and snow showers and wind.  That's the week! Some participation! That's good!

Tuesday and Newsletters

 I slept poorly last night. I kept waking up and adjusting the thermostat. Finally I just got up close to 5:00AM. I was out of Melatonin and I have trouble sleeping without it. I will need to get some more today.

I hope to go to Bartlesville to The Print Shop and get them to duplicate my class  newsletter. Hopefully they will insert the letters into the envelopes like they did last year.  I put the labels on them that Leslie made for me. I got that done yesterday evening. Thank goodness she did that for me!

Last year, they not only duplicated the newsletter that was 7 pages long but also put the letters in the envelopes. This year's letter is only 4 pages long. (actually two sheets of paper that will need to be printed on both sides). We are 88 years old this year and many of us did not make it to 88. Last year, I got half a dozen letters back and this year I imagine I will get many more back. It will be interesting to see. This may be the last year I can do it. I will have to work over my classmate list after a few days and add some more to the deceased classmate list.

The little grey cat was waiting for me to open the front door this morning and he/she ate quite a bit. Finally Blondie came and I just had him eat what was left of the wet cat food I put out for the little grey one. I am spending a lot of money for wet cat food. That's what they prefer.

Today is to be 47 degrees and it is to be cloudy AM and sun PM, Wednesday is to be 44 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is to be 45 degrees and partly cloudy,  Friday is to be 42 degrees and rain and snow, Saturday is to be 41 and cloudy. Sunday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy and Monday is to be 46 degrees and rain!  We really need the rain and that is two days of rain and perhaps even some snow on Friday.

I took the  Class Newsletter to The Print Shop in Bartlesville this morning.They will call me when they get it worked into their schedule..I put the stamps on the envelopes when I got home. All I have to do now is fold them when they get the copies finished and put them in the envelopes. 

We have Bunco at the Senior Center in Coffeyville tomorrow.

Monday and New Years Day

 I slept very well. I got all the labels on the envelopes for the class newsletter for 2024.

It's 6:23AM now and I have been up since 5:00AM. When I opened the front door Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. I set it out for him and he ate until he was full and then left.  The little grey cat is out there now working on eating the leftover food from Blondie. I caught "the weather on the 8's" too.

The forecast says today will be 40 degrees clouds and PM Sun, tomorrow is to be 47 degrees and clouds and PM sun, Wednesday is to be 44 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be  44 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 41 degrees and rain and snow. Saturday is to be 42 degrees and cloudy and Sunday is to partly cloudy. That's the week! Friday says rain and snow! That will be something different to begin the New Year...if it develops!

I read until I had both books read and then I took them both to the book drop at the library here in Caney.  I would have taken the class newsletter to the Printing Center in Bartlesville for duplication except today is New Years Day, and I seriously doubt they would be open. I will do it another day.

I called the Dairy Queen in Independence to see if they were open and they were. So I drove up there to get their $7.00 special..three chicken strips, french fries a drink and a hot fudge sundae. Then I turned in my code for the last $7.00 special I got and they gave me a Dilly bar. I took that to John.

Leslie and I  went out to the kennel and I held a couple of the puppies. They are really growing. They are called stock puppies because they are trained to deal with cattle.

When I got home finally the little white cat came to eat it's lunch. It finished eating and left. I brought the bowls in the house so the neighbor's dog would not eat from their bowls.

I decided to try to get the mower started and run it out of gas  mowing but I couldn't get it started. I don't know how I will be able to do that now. I need to get that gas out of there. I should have done it earlier. Probably to siphon it would be the only way. And I wouldn't know how to do that.

I watched the Tennessee football game against Iowa and Tennessee won 35 to 0 . It was a good game but terribly lopsided. I kept waiting for Iowa to get a touchdown.

Sunday and Church

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed,dressed and got myself ready for the day. Then I began putting together my coffeecake.It's in the oven now. When I got that in the oven, I turned on the TV and checked for cats. The grey cat was out  there waiting for his/her breakfast. I set it out there and it began eating hungrily. So far it is the only one here for breakfast.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 41 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 41 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 47 degrees and mostly sunny,  Thursday is to be 43 degrees and mostly sunny, and Friday is to be 44 degrees and PM showers. One day of rain and the others just cloudy. One day of rain is fine though. It's better then nothing!
