Saturday and Home

I slept pretty well last night and was only up once in the night and then got right back to sleep and slept until 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day and I am having my breakfast here in the den. I may clean the apartment today since I wasn't here Thursday to do it.

I am anxious to see if the cats come for their breakfast. They may have given up on me after being on their own nearly a full week. It's just now 6:03AM so when I finish my breakfast, I will check on the weather and also the cats.

I finished my book last night before I went to bed. It was 10:00PM before I went to bed but I slept well in my own bed.

Leslie has taken four teen aged kids to Speck (Spectacular) in Lamona,  Iowa, for a week. That's where our Graceland University is located and Spectacular is an opportunity for them to show and share their talents for sports or music or whatever they enjoy excelling in and make friends of kids from all over America. They have sent their oldest granddaughter, Sage, the past couple of years. She is really into volleyball. She is preparing for college now having graduated high school this year.

It's 6:15AM now and I will go check on the cats and the weather.

I got the TV on just in time to catch the "weather on the 8's" and also both cats. They are sure leaner then they usually are since they haven't had a regular meal since I have been gone to church camp except for last Wednesday before I went to the beauty shop and then back to the campgrounds.

Today is to be 104 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 101 degrees and cloudy, Monday will be 98 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 109 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 104 degrees and partly cloudy , Thursday is to be 104 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 106 degrees and mostly sunny. That is the hottest weather yet and this is only July. Lord only knows what August will be like. 

More later..the cats have eaten and are gone now. I will leave the food out there for awhile since sometimes Scruff comes back for more.

They both came back for more food.They look like they have lost weight alright. After they both left, I took the food back in the garage again and covered it. If I don't do that, ants get into it.

Yesterday I put gas in the mower for Krystal to mow tomorrow afternoon late.

I had an e-mail and a call from my friend, Gay, from Chanute yesterday. She is coming to Cherryvale to eat lunch with me at Just Us, after church tomorrow. I am to meet her at 12:30PM there. 

I have decided not to clean the apartment. How dirty could it be when I have been gone almost an entire week. I will clean it next week. I did take a paper  sack and cleaned up the leaves in my back yard from my neighbor's tree next door south and put them in a paper bag to put in the trash. That gave me some bending exercise. 

It's 10:36 now. I will need to start thinking about my lunch in an hour and a half. I may go buy some more frozen dinners. In a pinch, that's the way to go. I need to get some change for Krystal's mowing Wednesday afternoon too.

I watered all the flowerbeds. They needed it and they will need it even worse after this week after 104 and 106 degree weather later in the week.

More Even Later.....

It's 7:15PM and I will take my bath now and get myself ready to read until bedtime at 9:00PM.

I finished my book at 10:15PM and got ready to go to bed about 10:20PM

Tomorrow is church and I will leave here about 9:00AM to get there soon enough to do what little cleaning the church will need.

So I hope I will sleep well tonight.

 

Friday and Home Again

I slept fairly well last night but never really well when I am away from home.We had breakfast at camp and then attended a baptism of a young woman. Several children were baptized this week. After that we loaded up the cars with our luggage and left for home. It was good to get back home.

I watered the plants...they don't look too good but between Stephen and me they just haven't had enough water in this heat. It was 101 degrees this afternoon. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my late lunch.  I checked the bank but it would not accept my password and wanted me to change it so after I called the bank and complained, I had to do just that. 

Outside of breakfast that is all I have had this afternoon. I had an e-mail from Gay and she is going to come down here and meet me at "Just Us" for lunch at Cherryvale on Sunday after church.

I put away all my clothes and did a load of laundry and dried it. I read for a couple of hours and then took my bath at 7:00PM.It's 7:50PM now and at 9:00PM, I plan to go to bed

Wednesday and an Appointment

I slept fairly well last night and was only up once in the night. But as usual, I was up at 4:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day and re packed my bag to get ready to go back to camp after my hair appointment is over. It's 4:27AM now and soon, after I eat my breakfast,  I will check on the weather and the cats. They haven't had cat food from me since Saturday morning so they may not come back. We will see. I am eating my breakfast now here in the den. I will leave for Coffeyville at 7:15AM. My appointment is at 8:00AM but I want to go to the bank there first.

I will check out the weather forecast now and also the cats.  My social security did come in and that's good! I was completely out of money.

More Later ....
Blondie came first for his breakfast but he didn't eat a lot. He probably had eaten at home. I didn't see Scruff. I had taken the food in the kitchen and soon Scruff came too. She looked very hungry and I took the food out to her and she ate a lot and finally left. I left the food out there awhile to see if she would want to eat some more.

The weather finally came on too.  Today will be 96 degrees here in this area,  Thursday will be 101 degrees and sunny, Friday will be 101 degrees too and partly cloudy, Saturday will be 101 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday will be 87 degrees and morning thunderstorms, Monday 99 degrees and sunny and Tuesday 104 degrees and sunny. Another very hot week and this is only July..

Tuesday Home for Overnight

I have been at church camp since Saturday afternoon and it has been grueling hot until today. It rained a little bit this morning and that cooled it down quite a bit. After the morning worship service and morning class and before lunch,  I packed my small bag and started home. It is 2:10PM now and I just got home.  I will do my little bit of laundry today and also get my hair colored and cut tomorrow morning at 8:00AM. When I am finished with that, I will go back to the camp until Friday when it breaks up.

I have found it difficult to get around with so much walking. I need to get out and walk more here at home so I won't get so tired. One thing I didn't take in account was how much water I needed to drink in that heat. I got very weak and needed to drink a lot more water then I am used to. That meant I got up in the night a lot more and didn't get a lot of good rest. Yesterday my ankles swelled up too. They went down during the night.

But the fellowship, as usual, is wonderful!

I have watered the flowers again and hope they make it until Friday when I will drive back home again.  Stephen, my landlord, watered the flowers while I was gone! That was really nice of him!

When I went out to water the flowers in the back, the screen door hit my hand and the paper thin skin on the back of my hand tore open. So I put some bandaids on the mess.  It's always something.

Stephen also came over while I was gone and installed my new garbage disposer. He also began to install the new ceiling fan in the bedroom but the wiring has a problem..it's different.. and he will have to figure out how to get it installed. He's clever!  He will figure it out.

It's 7:35PM and I have just had my bath. I hope I can sleep tonight.  Hey! I just looked and I did remember to bring the Melatonin home from camp after all. I didn't have to use it at camp because I was so tired every night I didn't need it. I will try not to go to bed too early. My appointment tomorrow is at 8:00AM and afterward, I will go back to the campgrounds until Friday when it breaks up. I will go to the bank first in the morning and then go to my appointment and after that get gas at Woodshed in South Coffeyville and then drive back over to the camp...it's ten miles south of Joplin.. just off highway 86 on BB road.

They hired a new camp manager and the camp has never looked better.  They had an arborist come this morning and this winter they are going to have him trim up the trees and perhaps take the one out that died.
