Thursday and House Cleaning Day

Today I feel much better. I didn't hear a peep out of the cricket. I slept well.

I texted Bob this morning and he did well too.

I will clean the apartment this morning while the TV commercials are on. I despise commercials...especially the ignorant ones. I like ones with animals featured or funny ones. But it is obvious that the ad people think we are all stupid. ....and many are...especially if they buy into the ads. No one "gives" anything away. They add it into the price.

I have had my breakfast and coffee and am drinking my Chai now. I should go see what the weather will be like today. They were forecasting snow yesterday evening.

So more later...

I looked on Amazon for Tac Visors for your car. It fits on the visor and stops glare from  other's lights. I may order one. With contacts you get a lot of glare.

I found four cats patiently waiting for their breakfast this morning. They also need water this morning. After they finish eating and I go get their bowls,  I will take more water out there. Right now they are still eating.

So more later...the Channel 6 news is on now and in 20 minutes the CBS news will be on.

I got all the floors mopped and the vacuuming finished. There are still some things in the dryer to be folded and put away. I got the sheets folded and put away. I will probably dust tomorrow instead of this afternoon...but who knows? I may get to it after I rest a bit. Moving those heavy chairs out of the dining room and moving them back in after I mop around the edges of the dining room rug and then vacuuming that rug, is really taxing. ...mainly it's the weight of the chairs.

I've turned off the TV and will read after awhile. I can just handle so much news and the only programs I am interested in watching are "Bull" on Monday night and "Lucky Dog"on Saturday morning and a couple of other programs of that nature. I record "20/20" and "48 Hours" every time they are on. And I either watch or record "60 Minutes"  every Sunday evening. But that's about all I can handle of today's programming.

Speaking of today's programming, this is what facebook is good for:

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says '008 100 Let he who hath not an AR15 take his $600 stimulus and buyeth one. If he receives $1200, take the other portion andbuyeth ammunition... Clint Epperly Yes, do it. Do it NOW! You and 15 others Preparations 20:21 5 Comments Comment'

More later...This is what my dear friend put on his facebook page. I referred him to Matthew 25 and reminded him we are a peace church. He is a great Trump fan.

I read all afternoon and finished my latest book. Tomorrow I will download another free book from Amazon.

Right now I am watching the CBS news. so more later...

After the news, I read until 7:00PM and then took my bath and read some more until 9:00PM, when I went on to bed.

I didn't feed the cats again.

Wednesday and Hairdo Day

I slept terribly last night. I was doing fine until 2:00AM when a cricket began chirping somewhere in my bedroom. I got up and searched everywhere for it but couldn't find it. I moved my dresser out and it wasn't there, I looked under the cedar chest but it wasn't there either. I looked in the closet but didn't see it anywhere.

It chirped every ten seconds and I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep in the bedroom so I picked up my quilt and the afghan and went in to the living room couch. I couldn't really get comfortable there so it was off and on until 5:00AM when I finally just gave up and got up. What a night! If it begins again tonight, I will just move into the den on the daybed. I will just pull the trundle out and try to sleep there. I will have to close the console that holds my computer or the light will keep me awake.

I see by the weather on my phone that we have light rain and it's 36 degrees so I will wait until daylight to go to Coffeyville to my hair appointment. I will have to miss my usual breakfast with Bob.

Since it's raining I won't feed the cats this morning unless it lets up. I can't get out the front door to take their food out so I have to go out through the garage and walk in the rain to the front door and back.  I am not going to do that. I fed them last evening so they will just have to wait.

I have had my oatmeal and chai latte and even a breakfast bar. I haven't had the TV on yet this morning. I know what the weather is from my phone.

Toni changed my appointment time this morning to 8:30AM so I will not leave for Coffeyville until 8:00AM or when it gets light.

More later..

I made the mistake of opening the door to see if the cats were all there and sure enough, they were all four there...looking very hungry. It isn't raining right now so I went ahead and fed them. It's not quite 7:00AM yet so I will have time to get the bowls in after they get their fill.

I have the TV news on right now.

More later...

At 8:00AM, I went over to Coffeyville for my hair appointment and that went fine. I then came right back home.

I thought today might be a good day to clean out the storage closet in my bedroom.  I also went through the stuff in my printer table in the den. I got that all organized again. It is 11:30AM now and I think I will just go out to Sonic now and get the Wacky Pack child's lunch.

So more later...

That's what I did for lunch! It was good, as usual, and certainly cheap! I had the large two chicken strips and tator tots and a small coke. All for $2.08. Can't beat that!

The sun is out now! But it's still only 37 degrees.  I opened the den blinds so that sunshine could come in. It feels good!

I spent the afternoon updating my classmates list. It's 5:11PM now but I am finished again.

I will go watch the news now and get back to this later...It's 6:39PM and I will go take my bath and get into my nice warm robe then come back in the living room and read my new book until bedtime.

I will try to sleep in my bed but if the cricket starts chirping again, I will go sleep on the trundle bed in the den.

We will see...

Tuesday and Another Boring Day

I slept well again last night. It's the melatonin, I know. I need to get some more today. I finished my last book so I will have to download another free book from Amazon today.

I have had my breakfast and am eating a breakfast bar now and enjoying the breakfast bar with my Chai Latte. I haven't had the TV on yet or fed the cats. That's all next.

So, more later...

Sure enough, there were four hungry cats out there and a fine mist already. It's supposed to rain today and Bob says it is already doing that at Coffeyville.  I took the cats out more clean water for them to drink.

Gina texted me last evening  to ask if I had taken a sweet roll to Nancy. I told her I had not and hadn't been over to see Nancy yesterday at all. I had taken her a crescent roll from Leslie's Christmas dinner but nothing since then. Gina said she had no idea where Nancy got it. (She doesn't like Nancy to eat sweets. I think it's none of her business.) Nancy has even a more boring life then mine. She has no car and no one but Gina and Dale and I even go to see her.

I don't have plan for today yet. So, again, more later.

I fixed a pan of broccoli cheddar soup for lunch and ate a big bowl of it myself and took another bowl over to Nancy's for her lunch. I stayed awhile and visited her but she was really wanting to get back to sleep so I came home at 2:30 PM and read my newest free Amazon Kindle book.

After I had read awhile I checked the cat situation. There were four out there waiting for supper.

If the weather is o.k., I will plan to drive to Coffeyville  at  6:15AM to go to breakfast with Bob.... If I decided there was a chance it would not be raining or snowing.  I will not be feeding the cats breakfast tomorrow morning if I can leave early.

I read all afternoon and then I put the Kindle away to watch the CBS News. It is 5:36PM now. At 7:00PM, I will take my bath and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM

Monday and Nothing in Particular

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I had my breakfast and coffee and chai and then turned on the "weather on the 8s"and the news. The only new news is that Trump signed the bill after all.

I fed four cats this morning. I didn't feed them last evening so they were very hungry  this morning. They finished and I brought in the bowls.

I checked my online bank account and after they took the Blue Cross/Blue Shield out I don't have enough in the bank to pay my bills..let alone my rent. I will need to transfer some money from my savings account to pay the rent. They raised our Blue Cross/Blue Shield for this coming year..again...

I don't get my Medicare until January 13th. Then I can pay my savings back.

I had to pay my car insurance this month.

I usually do my laundry on Monday but I really didn't want to strip the bed today...maybe tomorrow. I can wash the towels and my pjs and underwear this morning.

This morning my new watch says it is Thursday the 29th of December.  It is actually Monday and the 28th of December. I studied the instructions of how to reset it but they seemed confusing to me so as long as the time is correct, I won't fool with it. Leslie told me not to mess with it since it has five different buttons to set it with..... too confusing for me.

I had one of my Schwan's meals for lunch and the rest of the Apple Brown Betty for dessert. Then I read for the rest of the afternoon.

I looked up and it was nearly 3:15PM and I was supposed to pick up the class newsletters in Independence at 2:30PM so I quickly wrote the check and headed off for Independence. I got the newsletters left the check to pay for the printing and stopped at Miller Brothers and had them fill my tank with gas while I was there.

Then I came on back home and stopped at the post office to have one of those letters weighed to be sure one stamp was enough. Then I came on back home to fold and stuff and stamp the rest.

I will take them to the post office in the morning. I called and they were just closing the post office. They are all sorted and stamped so they are ready to go.

Oh yes, when I drove back into the garage  Scruffie and her crew came over... eager for supper.

Then I folded that laundry I had washed and dried this morning. It's time for the news now so I will get my banana and go watch it.

More later...

I watched the news and then took my bath at 7:00PM and went back to my book untilI finished it at 9:00PM and then I went on to bed.

Sunday and No Online Church Today

I slept well last night. I had taken the Christmas boxes out of the attic and put everything away yesterday. Then I put all those boxes back up there one at a time. So I was very tired last night. But I had a good feeling of accomplishment afterward.

Leslie gave me a new watch for Christmas. My old one continually lost time and had to have the battery replaced about every six months. Now I notice this one is one day off in the date and now instead of saying Sunday, it says it is Wednesday. It's technology is beyond me. The time is correct and that's the important thing.

Toronto is not having an 11:00AM worship service today. I think they think they need a break. It must be a technology challenge to do theirs as well as they do. I will miss it. I will watch Springfield, Missouri, this evening, It's usually not as smooth as Toronto but at least it's a worship service. I miss going to church. After this pandemic is finally over it will be good to get back to real church again.

I will go watch the "weather  on the 8's" and check on the cats. I have had my breakfast now.

I will watch the channel 6 news until the CBS news comes on at 8:00AM  and then watch that.

I fed four cats this morning and  when they finished, I brought the bowls in and put them in the garage.

It's 10:34AM now and I have been watching the news all morning, including "Face the Nation". It's rather disheartening. The race issue dominates everything and yet I can't fault that when so much racism in so apparent. So many Americans still harbor racism. Nothing will change until attitudes change. And if attitudes haven't changed in 161 years, how long will it take?

People who are into racism will not change easily.

I went over to Nancy's and she was still feeling bad. Mostly it's her arthritis and allergies.

I read all afternoon and finally finished my book and ordered another free one downloaded from Amazon.

I took my bath at 7:00..after watching 60 Minutes and then went on to bed at 9:00PM

Saturday and Put Away Christmas

I slept well last night and was up around 5:00AM. I made my bed and had my breakfast. I attached the class newsletter to e-mail and sent it out to those online. I also sent it to Hillary by attaching it to e-mail. I hope that works out o.k.for her. If not, I will take her a hard copy and she can duplicate it.

I found four cats looking for their breakfast this morning and took four bowls out to them. When they finished, I brought the bowls in and put them in the garage.

I have watched the news and there doesn't seem to be any new answers about the reason for the Nashville explosion.

In a little while I will bring in the boxes to put away my Christmas decorations. I will need to get them into the attic sometime today.

I got everything put away. the boxes are labeled and in the attic.  I just had to be organized and careful. Most of my boxes had hand holds (file boxes) so they weren't all that hard to get up there .

So the place is back in order. That job is done for another year and it's only 9:45AM. Whew!!

I watched a Dateline show that I had recorded earlier while I ate my lunch. I warmed up some of yesterday's dinner. It was every bit as good as yesterday's.

Then I went over to Nancy's for awhile and visited. Dale came in while I was there and checked on her Like me, she was drowning in her own juices. Dale was having the same problem too.

When I left I realized I was out of one of my meds and also needed bananas and eye drops and chai latte and coffee. So I made a quick trip to Independence for those things.

When I got back home I ate a banana for supper and put away the other things.

Then I balanced my checkbook. It balanced.

I guess I will go watch the news. It is 4:36PM. Then I will read awhile.

I watched the news and then worked on bringing my classmates list up to date. When I got that finished I got my notebook and brought the blog up to date.

It's 6:23PM now and I will take my bath and get my pjs on and then read my Kindle book until bedtime at 9:00PM or so.

Friday and Christmas

I got up at 5:00AM this morning and dressed and had my breakfast. I had three cats waiting for theirs this morning. Scruffie wasn't there. She will probably be there later.

I have been watching the channel 6 news and am waiting for the CBS news...strange...it isn't scheduled at all this morning...probably because it's Christmas.

I found "Good Morning America" on ABC and "Today" on NBC. I guess if I want any national news, I will have to watch a different network.

I don't know whether Nancy will be coming with me to John and Leslie's for Christmas dinner or not. At 9:00AM I will try to call her. Sometimes I can call her multiple times and she doesn't wake up. I will do the best I can and try to find out. It's only 7:25AM right now.

I called Nancy at 8:30AM and she had been up all night with vomiting as well as diarrhea. She was so counting on our Christmas dinner. I told her I would bring her some dinner later this afternoon after she gets to feeling better....hopefully!

I left at10:30 AM to go out to John and Leslie's for the Christmas dinner. It was delicious! I took some of the leftovers for my suppers and some for Nancy too.

After I got home, I left mine and took Nancy's over to her. I stayed an hour or so and visited. While I was there David, her son, called and she had a nice visit with him.  I was so glad he called.  She was too, of course.

I got home shortly after 4:00PM. I will turn on the news and see how things are going with the car bombing investigation in Nashville.

More later..

I watched the news and also read my book. I took my bath and went to bed at 8:00PM. I was very tired.

Thursday, December 24, 2020

Thursday and Christmas Eve.

I slept pretty well last night and was up at 5:00AM. I fed four cats as well as myself. They are full and gone now so I will bring in the bowls.

This is Christmas Eve and after the news is over I will make my Waldorf salad for tomorrow's dinner at John and Leslie's.

This afternoon I will go over to Tyro and get the Amish cherry pie I ordered. Then this afternoon I will make the Apple Brown Betty I am serving this evening to the local part of my family. They will be over at 6:00PM for refreshments and gift opening.

I got the Waldorf salad made and will leave in a little bit to go over to Tyro and pick up the cherry pie. Then sometime after lunch, I will make the Apple Brown Betty for tonight.  I want to finish the vacuuming first. I still have the dining room rug to do and then I need to empty the vacuum sweeper. I got all that done and put away the vacuum sweeper. I have washed the two filters and will let them dry overnight. More later...

I have the cherry pie for tomorrow in the frig. I made the Apple Brown Betty this afternoon and it will be served with vanilla ice cream and is covered with foil now and on the counter. I also have some Christmas napkins and Suzanne's baked goods to serve and also the eggnog. After we have dessert, we will open gifts.

Everything turned out well. The girls ate well and got everything for Christmas that they wanted. After we ate they passed out gifts for everyone. About 7:30PM they all left and  I did the dishes and got everything put away. Then I took my bath and I will read until bedtime.

It was a productive day.

Wednesday and Breakfast With Bob

I was up early again this morning...around 5:00AM. I fed the cats but didn't feed myself since I was picking up Bob for breakfast. I left about 6:15AM for Coffeyville but first I brought in the cat's dishes.

I got him about ten minutes early and once again we went to Eggbert's for breakfast. We had a nice visit and just before I left, a small boy approached our table and gave me a gift from his grandmother...Shirley...the manager.. It was a very cute Christmas dishtowel. How sweet!

I took Bob back home about ten minutes early and went on to my hair appointment. I then took the newspapers I had collected to Karan's home.  She takes them to the animal shelter.

I washed my car at the car wash there in Coffeyville and vacuumed it out when I got back to Caney where the vacuum was only .75 .  It is $1.00 in Coffeyville.

I worked some on my class newsletter and it is up to 6 pages now. I may be about at the end of it.  We have lost so many now that we are all 85. There are only 166 of us left out of 291. I sent out a last e-mail asking those that have e-mail  to send me their contribution in the next week.

I think I will have lunch at Sonic today. They may still be offering the Wacky Pack for $2.18. You can't beat the price.!

More later...I may read all afternoon. I have another free book from Amazon on my Kindle.

I did read all afternoon and just had a banana for my supper.

I got another couple of e-mails from classmates and added  that news to the class newsletter.

At 7:00PM, I took my bath and at 9:30PM, I went on to bed.

Tuesday and a Trip to Bartlesville

I slept well again last night. I was up only one time in the night. Then I was up at 4:45AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I have had my oatmeal and coffee and am ready to fix my Chai Latte. I haven't had "the weather on the 8s" on yet. That's my next move. I will get back to this after that.

I am watching the weather channel now and have just gone out to feed the four cats that gathered for their breakfast. They seem very happy with the new kitten/cat food. I won't buy any more Meow Mix as long as they will eat this.

I have my Chai now. They are forecasting wind for tomorrow.  I plan to see if Bob still wants to have breakfast tomorrow. Toni, my hairdresser, contacted me yesterday to see if I would come to my appointment a little earlier. I told her I take Bob home at 8:30AM and I would come right after that. I usually go get my gas after I take him home. If I get my hair done then, I will go out after gas after my hair appointment.

Leslie intends to leave at 10:00AM this morning to go to Bartlesville for her groceries. I will be ready.

Suzanne intends to come in the afternoon. If I am still gone she will pick up my tin of peanut clusters and leave whatever she has for me on the roof of my car in the garage.

I just watched the "weather on the 8's". We will have no snow.. just wind I guess.

More later...

Leslie and I ate at Dink's after she had done her grocery shopping and it was excellent! They have redecorated the place and it really looks nice.  Of course, the food was excellent as usual!!

When I got home I texted Suzanne that I was home and then read for the rest of the afternoon. She came mid afternoon and brought me some wonderful looking holiday cakes and some other great gifts like soup mixes and special popcorn. I gave them some of my peanut clusters.

Mid afternoon I realized I did not have my phone. I texted Leslie to se if I had left it in her car. I also has Alexa call it but I didn't hear it ringing anywhere. I searched and searched and was really confused about where it might be. I recalled texted Suzanne that I has home. Finally I checked in the cushion of the recliner but it wasn't there either. I turned the recliner over and there it was. I had put it on the armrest while I read and it slipped down into the seat cushion  and then  down to the floor. Whew!! I was really relieved!  Getting old is not for sissies!!

In the evening I checked for the cats and they were there waiting for their  suppers. I gave them more of that kitten/cat food and they ate like they had not eaten all day!

I didn't eat anything else the rest of the day. I was so full from Dinks!

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read until 10:00 and then went on to bed.

Monday and No Lunch Out

I woke up pretty early this morning. I had gone to bed at 8:30PM. So I was up around 4:00AM this morning and stripped my bed to do laundry. I also washed my towels and underwear and PJs. Everything is in the dryer now. I remade the bed after I stripped it. I have had my oatmeal and am now working on my coffee.

I also checked my e-mail. There was nothing more from classmates and I am up to five pages on it now. This may be a shorter newsletter than usual. I would like to get it off right after the first of the year. Last year was later then usual because I had Leslie's office print it off for me. The woman had priority work for Four County to do first. She is going to do it again this year.

I told Nancy on Friday that if she was up to it we would go out for lunch today. It will depend on how she feels and if she's ready by noon. You never know with Nancy.

I guess I will go watch "the weather on the 8s" and the news when it comes on and drink my Chai Latte.

So more later...it will be interesting to see if those cats are hungry enough to eat that kitten/cat food I opened last evening. I had forgotten to ask Leslie which cat food she had bought for me.

So, more later...

Sure enough I had all four cats out there waiting for me to feed them. They seem to be fine with the kitten/cat food I bought.  That's two blond cats, Inky, the black one, and Scruffie who  is grey with some white mixed in. I had to go out with a paper towel and remove a slug from the rim of the water dish. Ugh!

The dryer just went off so I will go fold and put away the laundry if it's dry.

Everything was not quite dry yet so I put all of it back in except the bottom sheet and started the dryer again. I folded it and put it away. Putting the towels in with the sheets makes drying everything harder.

I have been watching the CBS news and finally got hold of the pharmacies that are supposed to be giving   the Covid19 vaccinations.  I called both Walgreens and CVS Pharmacies and both told me that even though I was 85 years old they were only giving the vaccinations to those in nursing homes. They told me the general public cannot get them for 40 to 90 days. So much for the CBS and NBC news.

Also I called Nancy's and got Gina. Nancy was supposed to go to lunch with me today but Gina says she is not feeling well..she hurts all over. That must be her arthritis. So...that plan is off.

More later ....

I tried to call Nancy but she never answered so I went over to Nancy's and tried to call her but she still didn't answer so I just went out to Dollar General and bought some Silk. I was nearly out. This should hold me for awhile.

I had some Amy's  soup and crackers and cheese with punch for my lunch. Then I read all afternoon until I finished my book. I am charging my Kindle now and when it is charged, I will download another book.

That's what I did too.

I began the new book and read most of the afternoon.

At 4:30PM I turned on the news and then played some solitaire for awhile. At 6:45PM, I took my bath and at 8:30PM,I got ready for bed.

I did go out to see the "Christmas Star"in the north west sky. It has been 800 years since the Mars and Venus have lined up that way to cause a very bright "star".

Just after then, Leslie contacted me and asked me to go to Bartlesville with her tomorrow  to buy groceries for Christmas dinner.

She also told me to invite Nancy for Christmas dinner. Dale and Gina may be gone to their grandchildren's for dinner and there will only be the three of us for Leslie's Christmas dinner. Evidently Jeromy, Marlene and the girls will be gone to Topeka for Christmas. I am having them over for Christmas Eve and we will open gifts then.

Then I contacted Suzanne and told her I would leave their gift in the small mailbox. She said it would be afternoon before she got by and she would leave something for me on the roof of my car. She has the landlord's garage door opener.

Then I went on to bed.

Sunday and Church Online Again

I woke up and got up shortly before 5:00AM. I slept well and got myself ready for the day and had my breakfast.

After I ate I checked the front door and sure enough there were four very cold cats out there waiting for their breakfast. They didn't get supper last night because I didn't get to it. I put the new food in their dishes and put a little Meow Mix just on top. They ate well and only the siblings are still out there. Scruffie and the others are gone now....all with full a tummy.

It's almost 7:30AM now and I will watch the service from Ontario Canada at 11:00AM, That's a while though.

I got a lot done while waiting for the worship service from Toronto.

Leslie called me and we discussed Cyndi's situation. She is still in the hospital in Bartlesville recuperating from her colon surgery. She probably will be for awhile. She had to have a colonoscopy and will have to have a reattachment when her incision heals enough. That's awhile though.

It's still about another five or six minutes until the worship service begins.

That was an excellent  Christmas service the morning.

I had some Amy's tomato soup for my lunch with crackers and sharp cheddar cheese and some of my punch.

Now I am watching the San Fransisco/ Dallas Cowboys football game.  I am rooting for San Fransisco. It's 1:25PM now.

Well, San Fransisco lost at the last minute..too many turnovers.

I had made a quick trip to Wal Mart's in Independence to buy several things I needed as well as a print cartridge for my printer.  Then I got home in time to watch that evening church service at Springfield Missouri at 6:00PM.

I read the rest of the evening. I fed the cats one more time. I had bought some kitten/cat food at Orchelons last week and I opened that after I fed them the last of the food Leslie brought me.

I watched the recorded session of 60 Minutes and then took my bath, read some more and went on to bed at 8:30PM. I was very tired.

Saturday and No Plans

I slept well again last night and after dressing and having my breakfast, I opened the door to five cats waiting for their breakfast. Scruffie was there and the black cat, Inky and three yellow cats. One of them is probably the neighbor on State street's cat....the father of Scruffie's kittens. I didn't see the new kitten this time.  I put the new food in the dish and put a small covering of Meow Mix on each one. That encourages all the cats to eat the new food. That one bag of Meow Mix had lasted several weeks.  I think Scruffie is gone now.... probably went back to the new kitten...probably across the street.

I don't have a plan for today...after I dust today. I will probably read again.

More later...

I decided this was a good day to make my peanut clusters. I had all the ingredients and I just had to go out to Dollar General to get waxed paper to drop them on. I have made 70 peanut clusters and found a dozen Christmas tins to put them in. I will give them to my kids and also to friends...maybe even my neighbor. I will give a tin to Nancy and one to Suzanne and Steve. Nancy will have to hide hers from Gina or Gina will take them way from her. She doesn't want Nancy to eat candy....as though it's any of her business. Nancy is not a child.  She is 86 years old and can decide for herself what she wants to eat.

I took peanut clusters over to Nancy this afternoon and turned on the TV right away after I gone home.

I saw on an NBC news bulletin that the virus has developed another even worse strain that is a lot more contagious.

I don't know what that will do to the virus and whether the new vaccinations will keep it in line or whether it will even work with the new strain.

Just what we needed just as we were beginning to have hope that it will soon be gone by this summer.

I will watch TV more this evening and see if there is any more news about it.

It's 6:00PM now and I plan to take my bath at 7:00PM and read this evening until bedtime at 9:00PM.

Friday and Dusting

I slept well last night. I had taken two Melatonin tablets and that always helps. Then I only woke up once in the night. I was up at 5:00AM, dressed and had my breakfast. I am having my coffee now. In a minute I will go watch "the weather on the 8s" and then go check on the cats.

The Schwan's man missed me yesterday afternoon. Once in the past, if I wasn't here they would leave it in a bag outside my door with dry ice. This Chuck was afraid to do that. Later this morning I will see if my prescription at Walgreens is ready and if it is, I plan to go to Independence and pick it up. I think Chuck told me he was in Independence today and I have his cell number. I will check and see if I can meet him there and get my order before I come back home.

So more later...

There were four cats waiting for their breakfast this morning. I gave  Scruffie her Meow Mix and the others all got the new food. To keep them away from fighting over Scruffie's food, I sprinkled a little Meow Mix on top of their other food. They all seemed happy about that. We will see how that goes.

I am still watching for the "weather on the 8s" and will change to the Channel  6 news after that comes on.

This is Scruffie's latest kitten and this is the first time she has brought it over to the front door.  I had only seen it once before and it must be the only one she had this time.

Cute little thing isn't it? The neighbor's yellow cat must be the father ...again.

I got hold of Chuck, the Schwan's assistant manager and he agreed to met me at Independence;s Dollar General at noon. He would bring my order. So I went to Walgreens and picked up my prescription and then headed out to Dollar General. He soon showed up. He brought me the order and charged me for it and then I went to Big Cheese and ordered a personal pan pizza and and a root beer. Then I started for home.

When I got home I put away the food and ate my pizza.

Then I called Nancy again and this time I got her. She wanted me to come in and visit so I did that. I stayed a couple of hours and then came home for my 7:00 PM bath and read the rest of the evening.  About 8:30PM, I decided to start for bed. I needed to check my check book though since I didn't find out what the Schwan's order cost.

So good night for today.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

This is my regular day to clean the apartment and I will get to that later this morning.

I slept well last night although I was up very early...before 5:00AM. I am dressed and ready for the day and eating my breakfast and having my coffee.  I haven't had the TV on yet to check the weather. I will do that soon.

Nancy gets her hair done on Thursdays and so maybe I can catch her awake and visit her today.  The weather has been nasty so yesterday was the first day I really went anywhere for any time at all. It was a full day but I got a lot done.

As soon as I finish my coffee I will check to see if the cats are out front. They had pretty slap dash meals yesterday since I left early to go to Coffeyville and came back late. I never did see Scruffie yesterday, The rest of the cats came for a hurried breakfast and a late supper.

I will go in the living room now and check "the weather on the 8s".

I checked the weather and also the cats. Scruffie was back and soon the other three came too. I took their food out before any but Scruffie was there. She moved out of the way and let me bring the food for all of them out the front door. That saved me from having to open the garage door and let all that cold air into the garage. Only the siblings are still out there. Scruffie ate and left. I need to take them out some more water. They drink a lot of water since I have the only fresh water bowl around.

The apartment is shining clean again. I will still need to dust but the mopping and the vacuuming is finished...all done during TV commercials.

The cats are all fed and are gone to their shelter...wherever that is.  In a little bit I will try to call Nancy and see if she is up and around.

Nope! I couldn't raise her. After 6 rings it went to voice mail and she never checks her voice mail. I will try later...Her hair appointment is at 1:30PM, if I recall correctly.

So more later...

I had one of my Schwan's pizzas for my lunch with some of my punch.

Then I read the rest of the time and finished my latest book. It is called "Criminal Intent" by Sheldon Siegel.  This is the second one of Siegel's books I have read and they are interesting Murder Mysteries.

Later I will download another free book from Amazon.

It's 2:10PM now and I am going to try once again to get Nancy on the phone.

I got her and she wanted me to come visit! I went over to see her and we took a long drive to get out in the sunshine. It was 50 degrees so we drove up to Neodesha just for the drive.

When I got home I checked the mail and ate an ice cream bar.

Then I worked on the class newsletter.I had received another card and not from another classmate. I missed part of the CBS news at 5:30at PM and the Schwan's man missed me with my order while I was gone.

At 7:00PM, I will take my bath and read awhile. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM. I will be reading so we will see.

Wednesday and a Busy Day

I will go over to Coffeyville this morning and Bob and I will go to breakfast. After that I will go get my gas and go to Walmart for the ingredients for my peanut clusters and the Apple Brown Betty and the salad for Christmas dinner. I will also pick up a treat for game day this afternoon.

I will get my hair done at 9:00AM or 9:30AM, whenever Toni is ready for me. I will take my Kindle to read while I while away the time until time for game day.

I am just drinking my Chai Latte this morning since I am having breakfast with Bob.

In a minute, I will check the "weather on the 8s" and then see if the cats are out there yet waiting for their breakfast. Then shortly after 6:15AM, I will go over to Coffeyville. I will have to drive slower because it will be pitch black out there.

Leslie's best friend, Cyndi, is in the hospital in Bartlesville in pretty bad shape. They have identified a tumor in her colon. I want to get a card for her too. They won't let her have visitors during this pandemic. Leslie texted us all last evening.  Leslie is sending her flowers.

So, more later...

I got everything done I intended to do today and even bought stamps for the mailing  of the class newsletter when I get it finished.

I enjoyed game day too. Janet took everyone's temp when we went in and we wore our face masks. There were only five of us.

I got the makings for not only my Bob's salad but also for the peanut clusters. I will make them up Monday. The salad will be made up on Thursday before Christmas. Then it will be refrigerated overnight. I gave Bob his little gift this morning after I took him home from breakfast.

I will read this evening again. I downloaded another free Amazon book early this evening.

Now for the CBS news....More later....

News is over now so I will take my bath now and my pjs and robe on. Then I will read my Kindle until bedtime.

Tuesday and Not Much Going On

This is going to be another snow day..I am afraid.  I slept well and was up early..shortly before 6:00AM.

I have had my breakfast and even fed the four cats. Inky is still out there lying by my front door....handy to the food, I guess.

I texted Bob and he said he had slept well. We planned to have breakfast in the morning but it depends on the weather....snow is forecast.

He told me the Boles family had sold Eggberts. I don't know what that will mean for the only sit down restaurant in Coffeyville. ...and the menu. I guess time will tell.

I have no plans for today. The laundry is done and the apartment is clean..everything is done for a couple of days. I have a hair appointment tomorrow at 9:00AM and will need to go to Walmart to get the ingredients for my apple brown betty and for the peanut clusters I want to make next Monday.

Thursday is apartment cleaning day.  Not much of anything going on today though.

Wednesday besides breakfast with Bob and my hair appointment, I have game day at the senior center.

I read most of the morning and then had my last chicken pot pie for lunch. I have played some FreeCell this afternoon. I also worked on the class newsletter again. Just piddling around today.

More later....

At 5:30PM I watched the CBS news and then fed the cats and went back to my book. I read until 11:30PM and then finished the book and went to bed.

Monday and Laundry

I slept well last night and only woke up one time to go to the bathroom and have  a drink of water. I was up at 5:00AM as usual and doing laundry. I had a text from Scott this morning. He is going to attend Ashley's graduation from her nurses training in Savannah.

I have had my breakfast and have my laundry in the dryer. I have been checking my e-mail and answering some of it. I haven't had the TV on yet or even checked the cats out. I will do that now though and then get back to this.

Sure enough, all four cats were out there  waiting for their breakfast. I went out through the garage to feed them. They are eating like they hadn't eaten in a week.

I see we still have a little snow on the ground.

I have the weather on now. I will leave it on until I see the
"weather on the 8s".

I went out to see why Scruffie was not eating her own food. One of the yellow cats was eating out of her bowl. I chased him off and started picking up her food. It had been spilled all over the little flower bed.

I did the best I could and then just brought her food in. She can eat the new food or just go hungry. The others have run off now. She and the siblings are the only ones left out there now. It's 21 degrees out there now...very cold for them.

More later...

They all have left now...hopefully to find some kind of shelter. It's 27degrees out there.

I went out to Dollar General and bought a few necessary things. I couldn't find a graduation card. I will look for one Wednesday at Walmart. Ashley is graduating mid term from her nurse's training and will be getting a job as soon as she can get her license. She will have to work as a nurse for a year before she can go on with her college. She hopes to be  a nurse anesthetist some day like Ginger was. Ginger got her doctorate and now teaches it.

It's 10:45 now and I am already hungry.  That happens when you are up at 5:00AM.

I waited until 1:39PM to eat my frozen lunch. Then I read all afternoon on my new book. When I got my mail I had a Christmas letter from Myra. She had moved and I didn't have her new address so hadn't been able to send her a Christmas card. I had a nice newsy letter so I wrote her a Christmas letter and put it in a Christmas card.

Mid afternoon I texted Keith. It had been awhile since I had heard from him. He has been working in the office for several months. He used to work at home some of the time after the pandemic started to get worse.

I texted and asked him if I could call him this evening but he evidently didn't have his personal phone with him. I called him at home this evening and we talked quite awhile until Esther came home and they left for their walk.

Then I took my bath and later had Alexa play some Kenny Rogers music while I worked on my blog.

I will go back to my book in awhile and then plan to watch "Bull" at 9:00PM. Then I will go to bed.

Sunday and Online Church

I slept very well last night and didn't even get out of bed until 6:00AM. We were forecast for snow but there's no sign of it yet.

I have had my breakfast and am working on my Chai  Latte now. I opened the front door to four hungry cats. I took their food out through the garage and they are all still eating. They didn't get any supper last night. I simply didn't get around to it.

We are still forecast for one inch of snow but it sure isn't here yet.

Scruffie ate all the food she wanted and one of the yellow cats was finishing up what she had left so I went out and brought in all but the double dish. I noticed then that it is beginning to rain a little.

I will read the rest of my book this morning and download another. If it snows, I sure won't go anywhere. The TV says it is snowing in Tulsa.

It began snowing here about 30 minutes ago.

 Image may contain: outdoor

Three cold cats outside my front door.

I watched TV after I finished dusting the apartment.

Then at 11:00AM, I watched the Ontario Canada  worship service

Then at noon I just fixed myself a peanut and butter and jelly sandwich. I ate the rest of my trail mix in the afternoon. It snowed off and on all day and I never got my car out of the garage. I did feed the cats again in the evening. They were very cold but I really did not want them in the garage where they could climb all over my car. They could have gone across the street and gone into the utility room there that has no outside door on it.  They huddled around my front door instead.

In the afternoon I read again until 6:00PM and time for the Mission Center worship service. Leslie was in charge and she did a good job.

Then after that, I went back to my latest book and also watched the 60 Minutes program I had recorded. I read until bath time and then about 8:30PM  I went on to bed. I was very tired.

Saturday and a Possible Trip to Woolaroc

This will be an unusual day if it works out. Last evening Gina, the wife of Nancy's cousin, called to invite me to go with them to see the spectacular lights at Woolaroc near Bartlesville.  I had wanted to go down there to see those lights but did not want to drive clear to Woolaroc in the dark by myself. It's a drive through tour of the lighted grounds. Dale and Gina are going to take Nancy and have invited me along too. I hope she's up to it. I volunteered to drive over to Nancy's and save them having to drive over here to my apartment. I am to be there at 5:00PM. Gina said we would pick up a hamburger on the way down for our supper.

I want to get my dusting done today. After I decided to Christmas shop late last afternoon, I spent the rest of the evening wrapping gifts and putting them in the living room. It was such a last minute decision, I didn't even remember to record the CBS evening news.

I was up at 5:00AM, as usual. I slept pretty well and only woke up once during the night. I have had my breakfast and got myself ready for the day. I will go now to watch the "weather on the 8s" .

I saw the weather on TV and then opened the front door to find four cats ready for  their breakfasts, One of them was Scruffie. She didn't come for supper last night so she was really hungry this morning. I fed all four of them but she was the only one with Meow Mix. The others don't really care. They eat whatever they're fed.

I checked my bank account and also my Amazon Chase card. The refund on the electric ice crusher finally came through on the Amazon account.  My bank account balanced too.

After the news, I will dust the apartment. I have put it off long enough.

So more later...

I got the apartment dusted. And now I am free to watch the news and "Lucky Dog" one of my favorite programs. It doesn't come on until 10:00AM and so I have awhile to read. It's only 8:50AM. After the cats finished eating, I went out and brought the bowls into the garage.

I downloaded the latest version of Glary Utilities on the notebook. It cleans up my computers. I use the free version and have ever since the early 90s. I have it on all three computers. I try to remember to use it every week but sometimes I forget.

I should do all three computers while I am waiting for the news to go off.

I ran the program and then downloaded the latest version on all three computers. Then I ran it again with the new versions.

More later...I will go watch the news again and then "Lucky Dog".

Image may contain: indoor

My first six Christmas gifts wrapped. I did this last night.

I had one of my Schwan's pizzas for my lunch. It was o.k. I had some of my Crystal Light punch with it.

Gina called me awhile ago to tell me Nancy is not feeling well again today and does not want to go to Woolaroc after all. She felt fine this morning but when Gina went back for lunch, she was feeling terrible. So we won't be going to Woolaroc after all. I am disappointed but I can certainly understand the situation. So I will stay home and stay in. It's cold anyhow today. We are forecast for snow tomorrow. It won't break my heart if we don't get it.

I will read in my new book. More later...

Suzanne brought Brandon and me some of her banana nut bread and I took his over to his small mailbox. He didn't answer the doorbell when I rang it so I left him a note on the small mailbox and hung the banana nut bread in a sack with handles on it on that small mailbox. When I went to get my mail at the curb mailbox, I noticed it was gone so he must have eventually come to the door and found the sack.

It was very good!

I notice the Chronicle has announced that the "boil water" notice has been rescinded now for Caney. Thank goodness!!

After I watched the CBS news, I took my bath and read until 10:00PM when I finished the book and went on to bed.

Friday and Dusting

I will get the dusting done today...other then that, everything is pretty much done. I don't know whether it rained last night or not..it was forecast and it was forecast for all day today too.

I got up at 5:00AM after sleeping well with only one bathroom break all night. I got myself ready for the day and even had my breakfast already. I will eat a breakfast bar and drink my Chai Latte now too. After that, I will turn on the TV and watch the "weather on the 8's". Finally I will check out the cats.

I even balanced my checkbook already this morning....and it balanced. All but one check has cleared the bank. I seldom use checks. I just use my debit card.

It's almost 6:00AM and soon I will also need to text Bob and see if he is up and alright.

So, more later...

I did reach Bob and he was fine and had slept well.

I also got all four cats fed. And yes, it is raining a little now. It was so light I was able to take the cat food out through the garage.

Scruffie finished hers and both others have left except for the siblings. They are staying close to the door which is dry. I brought in Scruffie's empty dish and filled their water dish.

I have turned on the channel 6 news now. I didn't wait for the weather after I saw that it was raining as forecast.

More later...

I watched a video that explained five things we commonly eat that impact our memories as we age. They are commonly found in many of our foods. One is MSG, two is Aspartame, an artificial sweetener, three is sucrous (or Splenda) fourth is docetal which is found in microwave popcorn. The fifth is Aluminum which is found in many foods.

Halfway through the afternoon I decided to go to independence and Christmas shop. I got all the local people bought for now and the gifts are wrapped and in the living room floor. Then I got home and fed the cats....all but Scruffie...she wasn't around and I didn't leave her food. She would have had to fight for it. While I was at Orchelan's I bought cat food too.

When I got home I also went out to Dollar General and bought wrapping paper and ribbons.

And when I got home I also wrapped gifts using everything I had bought. That's a good start on Christmas. The kids are coming over here Christmas Eve for treats and we will open our gifts then. I may make my peanut clusters and Apple Brown Betty with vanilla ice cream. I'll get some Braham's eggnog too. It's the best.

I have had my bath and am ready for bed at 9:00PM. I think I recorded the CBS news this evening. I will check that out now. If I did, I will watch it before I go to bed.

Thursday and Cleaning Day

This is my traditional cleaning day. I usually vacuum during commercials while watching TV.

I slept off and on last night. My sinus' were draining  and I got up several times to blow my nose. Finally I got up close to 6:00AM. I do not feel rested today...too many sleep interruptions. It's 32 degrees this morning and it's nearly 7:00AM now.

I have had my breakfast  and even a breakfast bar. In a little bit I will go turn on the TV to catch the "weather on the 8s" and then open the door to see how many cats are out there waiting for their breakfast.

So, more later...

There were four cats out there ...including Scruffie waiting for her Meow Mix. The next time I go to Independence or Coffeyville I will need to buy the cat food Leslie brought me. It's a lot cheaper and all the cats eat it except Scruffie. I buy Meow Mix for her. It has tender centers. I see she has eaten all of hers already. The other three are still eating.

I will begin vacuuming soon. I need to get the vacuum out of the closet. I start with washing the bare floors..then vacuum. It takes me an hour to finish...small as the apartment is. Dusting takes longer.

More later...

I went out to Dollar General and bought some Coffeemate for my coffee. I can't drink it black.

I got all the bare floors scrubbed and all the carpets vacuumed. All I need to do now is dust and I will do that this afternoon. It's 9:45AM at this point.

It's 12:00Noon now and I have the apartment all cleaned up and am waiting for the mail. I just had one of my frozen meals for lunch.

More even later...

It's 2:15PM now  and I have been listening to Alexa playing Kenny Rogers music and playing FreeCell on the laptop. It's a beautiful day and I should see if Nancy would like to take a drive. She no longer has a car and it's the last of a beautiful day since it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. Yes, she wants to get out again while the weather is pretty.

Be back later...

Nancy had been to the beauty shop and was dressed and eager to get out so I went right over to pick her up. She had been invited to Dale and Gina's for supper but was game to go up to Independence on such a pretty day. We went to the Dairy Queen and she bought a grape drink and bought me a small Blizzard.  We had a good visit on the way back to Caney. She was not having any problems with her arthritis and was very glad to get out of the house again.

When I got home all four of the cats were there wanting their suppers so I fed them. I watched the CBS news at 5:30PM and later at 7:00PM, I took my bath. I had downloaded another book so I read until 10:00PM when I took my two melatonin tables and went on to bed.  I had had a productive day and the apartment was clean.

Wednesday and Breakfast With Bob

It's 5:30AM now and I will feed the cats next, watch the "weather on the 8s" and then leave to go pick up Bob for breakfast. I've had coffee and Chai Latte but I won't eat my usual oatmeal since I will have a good sized breakfast with Bob at 7:00AM.

Then I will go fill up my car with gas, wash it and go out to Walmart for a few things. I need Chai Latte again and I need to make a list of what else I need.

I got my Christmas cards out yesterday so I need stamps again. Then I will go get my hair done.

So more later...

Bob insisted on paying for breakfast this time...for my birthday, he said. We also had a good visit. Afterward, I went out to Woodshed and bought my gas and then to Walmart  for the things I needed. I then got my hair done. Then I dropped by Karan's and took her my old newspapers so she could take then to the animal shelter. Then I went to the car wash and washed my car and wiped it down with paper towels. I went by the car wash on eighth street and vacuumed it out.

Then I came on back home.  I stopped at the Caney post office and bought my stamps before going back to the apartment. Two cats were waiting for me but they will have a long wait since I fed them this morning. Scruffie wasn't one of them. She missed her breakfast.

I got an e-mail from the outfit that sent me the electric ice crusher that didn't work. They wanted me to remove my negative review of it. I sent them an e-mail and told them I still did not have my refund so I would not. I checked my Amazon Chase credit card balance and it was not in there yet.

More later....I think I will go out to Sonic and get the child's Wacky Pack for my lunch. At $2.18 I can hardly go wrong. The Methodist Church will be bringing my supper this evening. I will give them a donation.

More even later...

I bought my first Christmas gift today and it was my daughter's. Now I only have John and the little girls and Sage and Jeromy and Marlene to go. Those are the ones in the immediate area that I don't have to worry about sending in the mail. I usually put mine in Leslie's package to Sage. And I know what I will get each of the rest of them. I don't believe we will have a Christmas dinner this year. Leslie will be on call. I could have them over Christmas Eve for treats. I always make peanut clusters and can make a fancy bread and some sort of punch. I will think about that.

I had the nice supper from the Methodist Church here in Caney. It was delivered to my home. It was boned chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, a hot roll and three cookies.  I fixed some of my punch for a drink.

I see by the Chronicle that a water main broke over on Spring, just east of here and we are all now under a boil water order because of bacteria in the water. Caney has horrible water even under the best conditions but now I am going to have to use my bottled water or boil some every day. It probably isn't safe to even do my dishes in it. I wonder how long it will take them to get it fixed.

I also see by the Chronicle that the Caney grocery store is nearing completion and should be open the last of December.  That will be a welcome thing.  They have a new million dollar swimming pool but the priority was not a grocery store. They are interviewing for employees now.

I was going to read all evening but my Kindle is charging and it takes hours to recharge. So I watched a couple of episodes of Dateline that I had recorded and after my bath, I went on to bed.

Tuesday and All Caught Up

I slept very well last night...only woke up once and then got right back to sleep. I pretty much have everything caught up today so I may just read and then try to reach Nancy later if the weather is nice.

I will also work on my Christmas cards and get them in the mail.

I have had my oatmeal and am working on my coffee and a breakfast bar now.

It's only 6:10AM right now and I haven't tried to text Bob yet. I haven't even had the TV on to check the "weather on the 8s" yet. ..let alone check if the cats are out there looking for their breakfast. Maybe I had better do those things. So more later...

It's 10:40AM now and I have been working on my Christmas cards and keeping one eye on the news too. I used an entire book of stamps but I wanted to touch base with all my loved ones so it was worth it!

All those Christmas cards are in the mail now.

I watched the episode of "Bull" that I recorded last night before I went to bed. It was going top be too late to stay up and watch it. Besides, when I record it, I can delete the commercials.

It's 1:16PM now and I am caught up on everything but my reading.  The sun is shining brightly and it's 55 degrees out there.  But I went everywhere yesterday except to Coffeyville and I will go there tomorrow. So I probably should just clean up the car and I can do that tomorrow when I go to Coffeyville where there is a good car wash.

It's 3:06PM now. and I will get back to my reading. I contacted Amazon about my refund from the seller of the Rival electric ice crusher and they contacted the seller. The seller e-mailed me they had refunded my money in full but when I checked my Amazon Chase credit card, I had no refund there. I will wait two days and see if the refund comes through. It was $49.36 counting the freight. If the refund doesn't show up, Amazon will contact them again for them to account for it.

This is the only time I had had a problem ordering through Amazon and that was because it was a third party sale. The problem was that it wasn't apparent it was a third party sale until I contacted Amazon about the defective merchandise.

I had my bath at 6:45PM and then read my latest book until I finished it at 9:30PM and then  went on to bed.

Monday and Laundry Day

I slept pretty well last night and was up at 5:00AM to strip my bed and was my sheets and towels. I have the laundry in the washer and I believe it's about time to put it in the dryer. I have already remade my bed with clean sheets and put out clean towels.

I just put the laundry in the dryer so now back to this blog.

I'm not quite sure what I will do today besides the laundry. I need a few things from the market so I might go to Independence. I also need some stamps. I started my Christmas cards yesterday. I usually write a Christmas letter but I didn't start off that way. I had some nice Christmas cards left from last year and I began with them. I will do a couple every day until I get them all done.

I want to watch the "weather on the 8s" on TV so I will get back to this later.

After I watched the "weather on the 8s" I opened the front door to four hungry cats. I fed the four of them and the siblings are still out there looking in the front door as usual.

Scruffie ate her Meow Mix and then went back across the street.  The others ate the newer food. They don't mind it at all.  Scruffie won't touch it. She's finicky.

I have dried and folded all the laundry. The towels didn't quite get dry so I put them back in the dryer to finish drying. The dryer was pretty full because of the sheets and towels plus everything else.

It's still 27 degrees out there. Hopefully it will warm up later today.

More later...the CBS news will be on at 8:00AM and it's 7:25AM now....

After the news was off, I worked on my Christmas Newsletter and then decided to go to Independence to get the few things I needed for groceries. I also wanted to get another Christmas decorated dish drainer pad. My other one has not turned up and I have looked everywhere. I couldn't find a new one and I went to several stores. I finally came on back home and worked some more on my Christmas newsletter. Then I decided to try Bartlesville for that dish drainer pad. I went to Dewey first to their Dollar General but they didn't have any either. Then I went to the Bartlesville Wal Mart. No luck there either. I finally ended up at Hobby Lobby and found one...not exactly what I wanted...but close. I bought that one.

I came back home and worked some more on my Christmas letters and will do the cards tomorrow and enclose the letters. That will give me a project to get finished early.

It's 5:00PM now and I will watch the news for awhile. So more later...

I microwaved one of those little Schwan's pizzas for supper and had some punch with it.

I watched the news and fed the cats and finally at shortly before 7:00PM, I took my bath and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM or thereabouts.

Sunday and Church Online

I slept pretty well...woke up twice in the night..the second time at 4:00AM. I lay in bed until 5:00AM and then gave up and just got up. I have had my oatmeal and coffee and am working on my Chai now. I even had a breakfast bar.

I have forwarded the Peggy Steele letter to the classmates and read my e-mail. I will soon go watch the "weather on the 8s" on TV to see if the weather will be nice enough for me to do some more mowing today. If so, I may get finished.

It's also time to text Bob to see if he is alright today. So I will get back to this from the living room and on the notebook. The cats may be out there waiting for breakfast too. So more later...

All four cats were waiting for their breakfast. So I fed them. As soon as Scruffie was finished and the big yellow Tom began eating what little Scruffie had left, I went out and brought in her bowl. I am not feeding the other cats Meow Mix. They can eat the new food.

Inky and Blondie are still out there. Inky is drinking water from the water bowl and Blondie is just looking in the storm door at me.

Bob had slept well but slept until 6:00AM. He said he was nice and warm under the covers.

It's been too cold to mow the leaves yet. It's only 43 degrees. I will wait until afternoon and hope it warms up some before then

More later... at 11:00AM I will watch the church service from Toronto Canada. In the meantime, I watch Face the Nation. It''s nearly 11:00AM now so I will open Toronto's website and set the timer there.

More later....

Another wonderful service and another great sermon from Danny Belrose.

More later... It's 12:30PM now and 48 degrees and I have filled another bag with leaves. I will go back out again when its warmer and do some more.

It's 1:30PM now and I got another full bag of leaves done from the west side yard. My neighbor to the south has a terrible mess of leaves in the adjoining yard right next to mine and on the ground and he is not doing anything about it so those will be blowing into my west yard soon. I will not bother to mow any more there. I may do the back yard later. It has a fence around it and his leaves are on the ground so they can't blow into my back yard. But I will take a break first. It's 52 degrees now so it is getting warmer.

More later...

I didn't have the energy to do anymore mowing so I am going to watch the CBS news and later I will watch 60 Minutes.

After that I will take my bath  and read until bedtime at 9:00PM or so.

Saturday and Mowing Again

I slept well last night after I took two Melatonin tablets. I was up and dressed shortly after 5:00AM as usual. It's 30 degrees this morning..very cold! I have had my oatmeal and am working on my coffee now. I just a few minutes I will go into the living room and turn on "the weather on the 8's" to see what the forecast is. I know it is to be very cold..I can tell that already. I am having my breakfast bar now too.

After I see what the forecast is, I will open the front door to see if the hungry cats are  there waiting for their breakfast too. They usually are. It will be very cold to go out through the garage to set their food out by the front door. I also  need to text Bob to see if he is alright. It is 6:21AM now. Surely he is up.

He was! He said he was up at 5:00AM too.

I will try to get my dusting done today just to be sure to keep the dust down. I changed the furnace filter yesterday. That is often the source of my allergies. I dusted some on Tuesday when I decorated for Christmas so it's not terribly dusty.

More later..

There were four cats ...as usual. I took Scruffie's bowl in when she was finished with it. One of the yellow cats was eating from her bowl. I want them to eat the new food. The "weather on the 8s" said it would be sunshiny all week.  Maybe I can get some leaves mowed.....the front and back yards anyhow. I can't do the west yard. It's too big. Most of the leaves are off the trees now.

The siblings (Inky and Blondie)are still out there by my front door..playing. They usually sit by my front door and look in.

More later....

After lunch, I watched the Ohio State football game this afternoon. I have become a fan since Scott's wife, Ginger, is a huge fan. She graduated from Ohio State and played basketball with their women's team as a guard. Afterward, I mowed leaves...again.   It was 55 degrees by that time so not too cold. Mowing warmed me up some.

The fourth time this fall I have mowed the front yard of the leaves from everyone's trees..including the one in my front yard.

Image may contain: tree, grass, sky, outdoor and nature

I hope to be able to do the back after I rest up a bit.

So more later....

I also cleaned the leaves out of this little flowerbed for the fourth time.

Image may contain: house, grass, tree, plant and outdoor

You can see all the leaves from the west side yard. I have never been able to do it this year.  It's just too large. I did it last year but I was a year younger then too. If I can get up the energy to do the back yard I might make a few swaps at that west side too. We will see.

More later...

I made a couple of swaps at the west side yard  and filled my last black yard bag so before I finish and perhaps do the back yard too, I will need another box of large black bags. I will be back later...I will need to run out to Dollar General to get those.

I got some more yard bags but I am not sure I have the energy to finish the mowing today.  I will check the weather for tomorrow. If it's not going to rain, I will try to do it in the morning. If it is going to rain, I will do it yet this afternoon or this evening.

More later..

I had better wait until tomorrow to mow. When I finished putting the black bag in the frame, three of the four cats were out there waiting for their supper. Scruffie is the only one not out there so I didn't put her food out there. It's almost 5:00PM so I will watch the Chanel 6 news until the CBS news comes on at 5:30PM. I hope it doesn't rain tonight. It is beginning to cool down a little anyhow.

At 7:00PM, I will take my bath and then read until I am ready to go to bed.

Friday and Dusting

I slept well last night. Before  I went to bed. I took two Melatonin tablets. I finally realized the trouble I had sleeping all night was because I have been on the computers so much and am using the Kindle and watching TV. All electronics like those destroy the melatonin your body produces. They produce a yellow light that does that.

I have dressed, had my breakfast and read my e-mail. Now I will go turn on the "weather on the 8s" and see what to expect in weather today and over the weekend. So more later...

I watched the "weather on the 8s" and fed four cats.

I played a few games of Freecell and then went out to Dollar General. They didn't have the clear  Windex. I bought some candy for my candy jar and on the way home I stopped at Nancy's and rung the doorbell. She answered the door and I went in for a visit.  While I was there, Gina came and she invited me to have lunch with Nancy. I was going to go home  for my broccoli cheddar soup but I accepted Gina's invitation instead. The food she fixed was a stir fry and was very good.

She left and I visited awhile longer and then asked Nancy  if she would like to take a drive and then I would go back home and look for my Christmas wreath. She volunteered to come with me and help me by letting me hand her down the wreath. I found it in a wreath bag up there and put it on the front door and put the one I got at Walmart on the back door.

We visited awhile and then I took her home.

I never did get the dusting done.

It's 5:15PM now and almost time for the CBS news. I will watch that and then take my bath and read awhile.  At 9:00PM, I will go on to bed. I think I will take melatonin again. I slept better last night.

Thursday and Cleaning the Apartment

Thursday is the day I usually clean the apartment. I do that while commercials are running on TV. I dislike commercials because they are usually so stupid.

I got up at 5:00AM although I had woke up several times in the night but had managed to get back to sleep each time. I will fix my coffee and oatmeal and eat while I wait for the "weather on the 8s" and news to come on TV.

So I will get back to this at that time. More later...

I had my breakfast and fed four cats too. Scruffie had her "special" food and the  others had the new food. The siblings are still out there and the others have filled up and left.

I have been watching the Tulsa news and once again it is full of their crime problems. I wouldn't live in Tulsa if they gave the city to me.

Oklahoma is also 19th in the nation in deaths and cases of the Coronavirus. The Midwest states have a terrible problem with the issuance of mandates to protect the general public. They are so afraid of having their "civil rights" violated. Poor things! I wonder what they would do if the draft was re-instituted...escape to Canada??? That would definitely be a violation of their civil rights. :) We would not have won the 2nd world war if this generation were born then.

They seem not to care about anyone else except their "rights".  Some even say the virus is just a bad case of the flu. I wonder what the hundreds and thousands of folks who lost their loved ones think about that. I have no patience with idiots who think like that. It's a simple thing to wear a mask...no big deal at all.

I like to refer them to the 25th chapter of Matthew. Read verses 34 through 45 to see what Jesus thought about that kind of thinking.

I got the entire apartment scrubbed and vacuumed while the commercials were on during the CBS news this morning.

Then this came at noon for my yesterday birthday. They are from my son, Scott and his wife, Ginger. Just Beautiful!!! Thanks to both of them so much for the lovely yellow roses!
More later...

I had some more of that delicious broccoli cheddar soup Suzanne brought me yesterday for lunch with crackers and cheddar cheese. Then I had a small piece of my cherry pie for dessert. It was very good!

The Schwans man just came with my order. That should hold me for another week or two. It's 2:55PM now and I guess I will go back to my reading for awhile. First I will call Nancy and see if she's up and around.

Nope, she is evidently taking a nap....again. Nancy sleeps her life away. Well back to my book! More later....

I fed the four cats at 4:00PM. Scruffie got the tender center stuff from Meow Mix. The others got the new food.  They don't mind it but Scruffie won't eat it. I don't know why...spoiled, I guess. After they ate I took the food in and they went back across the street to their shelter.

It's 4:45PM now and I will play a little Freecell, I guess. Later after the CBS news at 5:30PM, I will read awhile again. I have read about one book a day for months. They are free from Amazon to read and and Prime members can have 10 a month as long as we turn back in one for each new one.

More later...

After the CBS evening news, I read until bath time and then read until I finished the book at 9:00PM and then went on to bed.

Wednesday and an Historic Day

I know, I know.... you all don't know what is historic about December 2nd. This is my 85th birthday. I don't feel a whole lot different from the way I have always felt. But I have outlived everyone in my family except my great aunt Margie who lived to be 104. She went to sleep one night and just didn't wake up the next morning. What a way to go! I think she died in 2006. I think I have it noted somewhere on this blog.

I had a strange night. I had a lot of sinus drainage and had to get up to blow my nose several times. I finally just got up at 4:00AM. It was a lost cause.

At 7:00AM, I will pick up Bob and we will go to breakfast at Eggbert's in Coffeyville. After that, I will go get my gas and then run out to Wal Mart there and see if they have a smaller wreath for my front door. So far I haven't found the beautiful one Cyndi made for me. I know it's in the attic in a box but so far I haven't found the right box.  I have those boxes labeled but just haven't run on to it yet. There were a bunch of Christmas decoration boxes up there on the south side of the attic opening.

I am having a cup of coffee and my Chai Latte but no breakfast until I go to Coffeyville.

It's after 5:00AM now and I should go check on the cats. It may be raining out there too. I think it was forecast for today. They may not come for their breakfast if it's raining. I have very little shelter out there.

More later...I want to check "the weather on the 8s" too.

I left here a little early because it was so dark. We had breakfast and afterward I went out to the Woodshed and bought gas and then went to Walmart and found just what I was looking for...a smaller Christmas wreath. I got my hair done and then came on back home to get everything ready for lunch. I stopped at The Shed and bought a cherry pie...made by the Amish.

Now I am waiting for Suzanne to arrive...

Suzanne came thirty minutes later then she thought she would. She had gone to get produce for her family and had to wait in line. She brought a wonderful cheddar/broccoli soup and we had my crackers and cheddar cheese and afterward some of the Amish made cherry pie I bought at The Shed. She also brought me some gifts. It was some hand cream and hand soap and two boxes of that wonderful cinnamon flavored oatmeal and some cake....and a beautiful birthday card. I sent a piece of the pie home for Steve.

Keith and Esther  called me just as Suzanne was leaving.

I read some this afternoon while it rained. The cats, all four, showed up for supper. I gave Scruffie  some of her "special" food and the others some of the new food.

Blonde and Inky are still out there playing in front of my storm door...out of the rain but near the water to drink.

I am watching the 5:00PM Channel 6 news. At 5:30PM, the CBS news will be on and I will watch that.

I will take my bath at 7:00PM and plan to go to bed at 9:00PM. Between the bath and the bedtime I will read on the new free Amazon book I downloaded this morning.

Maybe more later...
