Saturday and a Funeral.

I slept pretty well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I checked outside for cats and there were none out there, It's 8 degrees  so I am not surprised. I fixed myself some Chai and a breakfast bar and came in the den to blog. I did catch "the weather on the 8's" though. 

Today is to be 17 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 6 degrees and snow, Monday is to be 13 degrees and cloudy, Tuesday is to be 21 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 37 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 39 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 25 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! One day of snow and that's tomorrow. It's 8 degrees and sunny right now.

Ted's funeral is today and I don't recall what time. I will have to text Leslie later this morning to ask her. In the meantime, I will e-mail her to ask her. I don't know which she checks first so I will try both.

She got right back with me, It is at 1:00PM, Of course, I intend to attend. I went over early and ate a fruit parfait at Eggbert's before  the services. 

Karan and Leslie were at the services too. It was held at Grace Fellowship. They sat with me. The pastor there did nice job with the funeral services. 

When I got back home afterward, I read in my book again. During the reading I heard someone out front by the front door. Someone came and took the two cat dishes. By the time I got up and went to the front door, no one was there. I looked around the yard but both dishes were gone. This is the second time someone has taken the cat's dishes...both of them. I am going to have to bring them in after they eat. I leave them out there so all four or five cats will have a chance to eat. But if I continue to do that,I will have to periodically have to buy new dishes for the cats.

I read until 7:00PM and then took my bath and got out the extra quilt to keep me warm. It's supposed to snow sometime between this evening and tomorrow. It's 3"F now...pretty cold! Tomorrow should be worse.

Friday and Apartment Cleaning

 I was up at  4:45AM this morning, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I checked for cats a couple of times but it's 58 degrees out there and there was no sign of any cats. I imagine they have found shelter somewhere out of the wind.

Obviously, I didn't get the apartment cleaned yesterday so I will try to get to it today. I read part of the day and made a trip to Coffeyville to pick up my new contacts and pay for them and my eye appointment the day earlier..It sure didn't take long to get those new contacts...one day.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" though.

Today is to be 27 degrees and partly cloudy and windy,, tomorrow is to be 19 degrees and partly cloudy. Sunday is to be 10 degrees and snow showers, Monday is to be 12 degrees and cloudy, Tuesday is to be 20 degrees and sunny, Wednesday is to be 39 degrees and mostly sunny, and Thursday is to be 34 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week!  Sunday's snow showers are the only sign of precipitation.

I finally saw Blondie waiting for his breakfast  about an hour ago. I took both breakfasts out there and he ate. The grey cat also showed up and evidently finished the food..

I have been reading  all morning. It is 10:25AM now and 17 degrees out there. Too cold for any more cats to come to eat.

I need to clean the apartment now.  

It's 11:58 now I got the apartment cleaned and am now charging the sweeper. It's 21 degrees and mostly cloudy.

 More Even Later.

I need to go to Dollar General and buy some more wet cat food. I did that and also got Kleenex. Then I went to Mainstreet Auto Repair and Tire and had the repairman look over the car. He discovered the driver's side rear tire was so flat, it was driving on the rim..He put the spare on that wheel. I had had a mysterious sound from the driver's side and that's what it was. I called Tate Boys, where I had bought the tires and told them about the tire and also about the other three flats I had had. The Mainstreet Auto Repair Man put the spare on and then the Tate Boys repairman wanted me to come down to their shop in Bartlesville to get it checked out and repaired. It took awhile but they put a new tire on that wheel and I drove back to Caney. There was no charge. They said I had had the tires rotated just as I was supposed to so there was no charge. They said they didn't ever  charge for repair of flat tires. 

Then I read awhile when I got home, fixed myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and after I ate it, I took my bath. I read until bath time at 7:00PM, took my bath then and read some more. 

I got ready for bed at 8:41PM, took my Melatonin and went on to bed.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well last night and was up only once and twice to go to the bathroom and take my two meds. I went outside to pick up the two cat bowls. I had left them out overnight...something I usually don't do, and sometime later last evening they cleaned up what little was still in them. I washed them up this morning and put the dry cat food in them. When the cats show up, I will add the wet cat food they really like. I got up close to 5:00AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. It's 25 degrees out there this morning. I don't know whether they will brave that cold or not. It depends on how hungry they are, I guess.

I need to call the Merle Norman's store in Chanute and order some Moisture Emulsion and some powder base and mascara from her. She will ship it to me and I will send her a check to pay for it. It's the only Merle Norman store in the entire area. All the others have shut down. There used to be one in Coffeyville and one in Bartlesville but they closed years ago. I always wear only Merle Norman. The others I have tried break out my face. And she doesn't open until 9:39AM.

Gay was supposed to meet me in independence this morning but she called last evening and cancelled the trip. Her stock water has frozen and a neighbor man is going to thaw it out and fix it so it won't freeze again. I imagine he will fix it so the water runs slowly into it.

I haven't seen any cats yet but I did see "the weather on the 8's". 

Today is to be 55 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 27 degrees and partly cloudy and windy, Saturday is to be 18 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 8 degrees and  snow, Monday is to be 11 degrees and cloudy, Tuesday is to be 18 degrees and sunny, and Wednesday is to be 34 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week! One day of snow and that's Sunday...unfortunately!

Wednesday and hair Day

I will be going back to Coffeyville for my hair appointment this morning. That is at 9:00AM.

I slept fairly well last night and was up and made my bed and dressed by 4:00AM. I had my sleep out. I went to bed pretty early last night.

I checked out the front door already but Blondie is not out there yet. None of the other cats were either. It's 29 degrees out there and I imagine they are all finding shelter from the cold somewhere. Perhaps under someone's house.

I have the TV on waiting for "the weather on the 8's" .I want to check and see if my social security is in the bank yet.

So More Later... 

It was there and I got a slight increase.  Now I will check on the cats again.

I checked for the cats but they were not out there in this 21 degree weather  But I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 50 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be  54 degrees and partly cloudy.  Friday is to be 28 degrees and AM snow showers, Saturday is to be 27 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 6 degrees and snow,  Monday is to be 9 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 21 degrees and mostly sunny.

That's the week's weather. Snow is all we get and no rain.

The next time I checked out the front door, Blondie was out there so I fed him. He ate his fill and left.

I went to the bank to get some money for my hair and the ATM machine wasn't working again. I had to go to the police department's ATM machine to get my cash for the week.

I got my hair fixed  and then went out to the Woodshed and bought gas. I went out there yesterday to buy gas but there were plastic bags on all the handles of the pumps. They were evidently out of gas. They had gas today so I filled my tank.

When I got back to Caney,  I stopped by the library to get a couple of books but on Monday Wednesdays and Fridays the library here in Caney doesn't open until noon and it's only 10:40AM now.

I went to the library after that and got two more books and have been reading all afternoon. It's 4:45PM now and I have put down the book I was reading. I have sat all afternoon and read. I am waiting for the 5:30PM CBS news now.It's only 4:47PM now.

Tuesday and an Eye appointment

 I slept well last night and was up at 5:00AM. So far there are no cats out there but it's raining so I am not surprised. I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Here it is...today is to be 36 degrees and snow showers, tomorrow is to be  49 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 57 degrees and  partly cloudy, Friday is to be  26 degrees and AM snow and wind, Saturday is to be 23 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 10 degrees and snow showers, and Monday is to be 11 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. That's the week! Some very cold weather and some snow too.

I will need to take cookies to the First Christian Church in Independence this morning about 9:30AM. Then this afternoon at 2:00PM, I have an appointment with Dr. Dobbins, my optometrist and that's in Coffeyville. 

More Later... 

I took the cookies up to Independence at  8:30AM..driving 30 miles an hour because of the snow and ice. That worked out fine.

Then I went back home and started reading a book I had read several years ago and seen and have the video.  Then I started for Coffeyville to Dr, Dobbins's office after I ate the fruit parley at Eggbert's there in Coffeyville.

Finally, After I got home,  Blondie came to eat. I took his food out to him and he ate it all.

I finished my last book this evening and I put it back in the book shelf. I had read it several times over the years but still enjoyed it again. It was The Bridges of Madison County. I also have the video but I really just wanted to re-read the book.

I will go to the library tomorrow and get two more books.

Monday and Rain

 I slept well last night again and was up at 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I opened the front door a couple of times but it is raining and there were no cats out there. I will check again soon.

Today is to be 45 degrees and rain, tomorrow is to be 36 degrees and AM snow showers,  Wednesday is to be 48 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 26 degrees and snow and wind, Saturday is to be 26 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 16 degrees and partly cloudy. 

It looks like we may get some rain and snow this week, We certainly need it! One day of rain and two days of snow. And wind also on Friday!

Blondie and the grey cat finally came for their breakfast and I fed them both. Later the snow white cat came too and I fed it. That's three of them out of 5. That's all I ever saw coming for their meal.  Of course more might have come when I went to Independence for my lunch at Dairy Queen. I had my usual $7.00 chicken strip special with  french fries, a coke and a hot fudge sundae. After that, I brought the dishes in the kitchen. It has rained all day. 

So far I have two newsletters  come back Beverly Duncan Tunstall and Shirley Cook Roberts...both Coffeyville addresses.

Undoubtedly there will be more in time.

More Even Later....

I went to Independence at lunch time and had the $7.00 special at the Dairy Queen there. That's three pieces of chicken and french fries and a drink  usually a Coke for me and dessert.... usually a small hot fudge sundae. All for $7.00 and tax.

I read until both my books were finished. I will return then both to the library tomorrow.

Jeromy and Cheyenne just left about 15 minutes ago. He just took about 15 minutes to put my Christmas decorations in the attic. She handed him the boxes.

He is such a good grandson...so helpful. My great granddaughters are also all very nice and helpful too!

I took my bath at  7:00PM and put my pajamas on and got myself ready for bed. It's too early to go to bed but I will watch TV or something until 9:00PM. Then I will go to bed.

I take cookies to the First Christian Church in Independence tomorrow at 9:30AM and then I have an eye appointment at 2:00PM with the eye doctor down there in Coffeyville. I imagine she will want to order me some more contacts to get me through the next 6 months. I am using my last one now. But I get better then one month out of each of them. They are $83.00 for each package.

Sunday and Church

I slept very well last night and was up about 5:00AM. When I opened the front door, Blondie and the little grey cat were out there waiting for their breakfasts. I set their food out there and they dug in. When they finished and left, the snow white cat came and ate whatever was left.

Between the three of them, they cleaned up all the cat food.

I fixed my coffeecake and it is in the oven now. It bakes 45 minutes and then I set it on a wire rack to cool before I put the glaze on it.

Today is to be 50 degrees and and mostly sunny,  Monday is to be 44 degrees and rain, Tuesday is to be 36 degrees and snow showers, Wednesday is to be 48 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 45degrees and partly cloudy Friday is to be 24 degrees and snow showers. Saturday is to be  29 degrees and partly cloudy.That should give us some precipitation for the week..A day of rain and two days of snow.
