Saturday and Another Puzzle

I slept fairly well last night. I had gone to bed early and so I was up even earlier. I am up and having my breakfast and coffee now.  I will probably just work on my latest puzzle today. I forgot to plug in my Kindle last night so it may not last long enough to read today. I did recharge my Runmifit last night. It is fully charged again today.

My landlord, Stephen, will be coming this afternoon around 2:00PM to try to fix my faucet to the tub. I turned it on to wash my bubble bath down the drain a couple of evenings ago and the center of the handle fell out. I tried to get it back together but was unsuccessful.  I told him about it and told him I could live with the handle the way it was to save him the expense of a plumber but he wants to try to get it together himself first.  He changed out a couple of burned out light bulbs a couple of weeks ago. I hesitate to climb on my step stool for fear I may fall. I'm not all that steady on my feet anymore...unfortunately.

Other then that, I don't have a plan for today. It's only 5:27AM now. It's too early for the cats to be out there waiting for their food. I see it's 37 degrees this morning...a lot warmer than it has been all week.

I will go check "the weather on the 8's" anyhow and see what the forecast is for next week.

So more later...

It's not quite 6:00AM yet and both cats were out there waiting for their breakfast. They must have really been hungry to come so early.

I fed them and when they were finished and left, I brought in the food.

We are forecast for rain later today and also next Friday.

I hate that. But it's better then snow and ice, I guess. It has gotten colder. It's down to 36 degrees.

I read for quite awhile and then I worked on the puzzle until I got it finished.

Just took me all morning. But here it is:

May be art of indoor

Stephen came about 1:30PM and he also brought me a huge bag of caramel corn. It is delicious!! It only took him about 15 to 20 minutes to fix that faucet.

I ate a third of the bag and took the rest of it out to Leslie and John.

Kiki is going to have her puppies any time now. They will be registered Corgis. I can hardly wait to see them. Octavia has two cowboy corgis and they are cute as bugs ears.

When I got back from the kids' house, both cats were there for their supper so I fed them both until they were full and left then I brought the food that was left into the garage.

It's 5:35PM now and I will go watch the news.

Back later....

I watched the news until it went off and then read for awhile. I took the puzzle down after I posted it here and then at 7:00PM, I took my bath.

I will read until my bedtime. I plan to go to bed between 9:00PM and 10:00PM depending on how the evening goes.

Friday and More Cleaning

I slept well last night even though I went to bed at 9:00PM. I read all evening. This morning I will finish my vacuuming and put away the puzzle I just finished yesterday afternoon. I may mop again and dust.

I see it's 14 degrees out there. Brrr. Those poor cats must be freezing. It's only 6:00AM so I won't try to feed them this early. I doubt they would be out there anyhow.

I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" now and get back to this after I see what to expect today. If it's nice but just cold, I may go down to Copan Truck Stop for their small salad for my lunch.

So, more later...after I check the weather and the cats.

What do you know! Both little critters were out there in this 14 degree weather. They will probably eat fast and go find some shelter from this cold ...if there is any.

Now back to looking for the weather forecast.

I have been vacuuming and have forgotten the details of next week's weather. I will have to check it again. I have taken up the puzzle and put it away and done the rest of my vacuuming. All I have to do now is dust and I have the rest of the day to do that. It's 8:09AM now and I have cleaned the sweeper and put it away.

I dusted everything and am now ready to go to the Copan Truck Stop and have my small chef salad. It's 11:00AM now and I have been reading since I  finished my dusting. I am charging my Kindle again now.

I also need to stop at the Dollar General store and buy bandaids and popcorn.

It's 12:24PM and I did go to the Copan Truck Stop and have my small chef salad and iced tea. It is so good and just right to fill me up and it's healthy too.

I stopped at Dollar General on the way home and bought the stuff I can't get at the market.

So more even later...

I worked on another puzzle this afternoon for most of the afternoon while my Kindle charged again.

Just Blondie came for his supper.  It must have been too cold for Scruff. It's 30 degrees now.

Then at 6:50, I noticed my Runmifit needed charging again so I plugged it into the desktop computers USB port to charge. While it's charging I took my bath. I think the Kindle is charged enough now to read until time to go to bed.

At least I'll give it a try.

I intend to go to bed a little later. That seems to help me sleep better.

Thursday and Laundry and Cleaning

I slept fairly well last night. I was up at my usual 5:00AM. I have been working on my e-mail ever since. I also started some laundry.

My laundry just went off in the washer so I will get it into the dryer before I get back to this.

O.K. That's done.

I will vacuum two rooms this morning. Then tomorrow I will vacuum the rest. That way the vacuum sweeper won't shut down. It can't handle all the fuzzy nap from the new carpet.

I just finished my breakfast and am working on my coffee now.

It's 16 degrees outside now and it even feels cold here in the apartment. Winter is here..that's for sure.

I will go turn on the "weather on the 8's" and see what the forecast is and check on the cats. I seriously doubt that they are out there as cold as it is.

Back to this in a few minutes.

Both cats were out there and it had snowed a little. I just opened the garage door and set their food down behind my car. I will try this and see how it works. I didn't want to try to walk out there where it's slick and I didn't want them out there to eat in 16 degree weather. It's 6:47AM now. It's supposed to be 13 degrees tomorrow.

I knew that was a mistake. The only way I could get Blondie out of the garage was to start the car up. He ran out then and I put the door back down.

It's a shame there isn't some kind of shelter for those poor cats.

More even later...

I saw on the weather channel that Nashville area is supposed to have snow today and in fact are on a winter storm warning. I texted Scott and he said it hadn't begun yet but it is forecast. He has sold his truck and he has ordered a new Jeep. It won't be in until February. They will rent a car for him until he gets it. That's what Ginger did when she ordered her new car. She is on her way home from work and they are meeting at Keller's for breakfast. I told him to be careful out there. I don't want to lose a child or a daughter in law ( or even a son-in-law, John)  before I go.

More later. The clothing in the dryer got dry and I just folded it and put it away.

It's 7:37AM and I should start the vacuuming. I will get back to this later.

I got the vacuuming done of two rooms. I will do the other two tomorrow and even though I mopped earlier in the week, I may mop again tomorrow.

It's 9:00AM now and I just watched the CBS news special about the riot last January 6th. I had watched that on TV last year. It was awful!! Violence of that sort is never justified.

More later...I will go read for awhile.

I haven't had my car out of the garage at all today.

Suzanne called me this afternoon and we talked quite a while. I don't see as much of her since she and Steve sold the duplex.

I stopped reading and worked on the puzzle I started yesterday and finished it.

It was a doozy alright. Carol,my niece sent me a box of the puzzles her husband and she worked .

May be an image of table

It is 6:10PM now and I think I will take my bath and read awhile longer. I plan to go to bed between 9:00PM and 10:00PM.

Wednesday and Bunco Game

I had a good night's sleep last night and slept later then usual. It's 6:06AM now and I am just now eating my breakfast. My hair appointment this morning is at 8:30AM instead of 9:30AM so I will be leaving for Coffeyville a little earlier then usual...probably at 8:00AM just to play it safe. After my appointment I will go to the bank. It won't be open until 9:00AM.  I will take my Kindle today. The Bunco games don't start until 1:00PM. I will read in the car until then.

I got gas at Dewey yesterday so I won't need to go to the Woodshed today.

It's almost 6:30AM now and if I am going to watch "the weather on the 8's" I had better do it now. And I also need to see is the cats are out there hungry. Neither of them came for supper last evening. I checked several times. It's 43 degrees out there this morning so it could be worse. But neither cat was out there this morning. I checked at 6:30AM. I will check again shortly. Unless someone else is feeding them too, they will be very hungry this morning.

I will get back to this later....

Scruff was out there just now when I checked again. Blondie may be home and in the house where he lives being fed. I have put enough food out there for both of them in case he does come later.

It's 27 degrees out there now. It is getting colder this morning.

Scruff ate as fast as she could and got back to whatever shelter she has managed to find....poor thing. The garage across the street is no longer available since they tore it off and built a new master bedroom there. I am tempted to crack my garage door and put a litter box out there for them but I don't want them crawling all over my car and I am sure they would...maybe near a warm motor. I'd better not.

It's 7:01 now and I had better watch my time. I need to leave no later then 8:00AM. I see the sun is rising now..just barely.

More even later...

I left for Coffeyville about 8:00AM and was at my appointment in plenty of time. She did my hair and then I went to the library and st out front for awhile and read.

Then I went to Sonic and bought a medium cherry limeade slush.\

I noticed the Pretty Nails salon was open again and knew I needed a pedicure badly. It had been several months since I had had one and my toenails were getting pretty long.I had to wait awhile since she already had a woman in her chair but it was worth it. That will hold me quite awhile now.

Then I went to the senior center and read there until 1:00PM when it was time for Bunco. We had a fun time.

I took the rest of my cake treat over to Marilyn and visited until 5:00PM and then drove on home to Caney.

I found both Cats patiently waiting for me and both were hungry although Scruff was the hungriest. I imagine Blondie got fed some at his home.  As soon as the possibly could they went somewhere warmer...where I don't know.

I read for awhile and then at 7:00PM I took my bath and put my p.j.s on and will read some more until late enough to go to bed.

Tuesday and A Visit to Nancy

I slept fairly well last night but I had another strange development after I took my bath. I was rinsing out the tub after my bath and part of the faucet handle fell off into the tub. I tried to put it back on but after about 20 minutes, I gave up. I will tell Stephen about it Thursday..when I will be home all day. I want to go visit with Nancy today and tomorrow is Bunco at the senior center in Coffeyville.

I slept well until about 3:00AM when I got up to go to the bathroom and take my meds. Then I couldn't get back to sleep for thinking about that part I couldn't fix. So I just got up and dressed and got myself ready for the day. It's 4:49AM now and I am having my breakfast. It's always something, it seems. Yesterday it was the cabinet door and John got that fixed. Now today it is the handle to the faucet part. I think that's going to take a plumber. Stephen will probably take a look at it when he is in town. It still works..it's just broken.

I dropped by the market yesterday afternoon and picked up a treat for the Bunco game on Wednesday.

It's almost 5:20AM now and I will go turn on the TV to watch "the weather on the 8's" and later, I will check on the cats.

I see it's 33 degrees and clear this morning. I am still waiting for "the weather on the 8's".

It's still 33 degrees outside and both cats were out there for their breakfast..shivering  with the cold.  They huddled together. I took their food out to them instead of letting them eat in the garage. The garage would be just as cold and it would set a precedent I didn't want to start.

I left about 9:15AM to go to Bartlesville to visit with Nancy. I got there in plenty of time and visited with her. A little later, Mary Williams came in and I visited with her too. They encouraged me to stay for lunch and I did. (Mary insisted on paying for my lunch.) I enjoyed the visit and I took Nancy some reading material too. We had a nice visit. Joyce McDaniel joined us for lunch at the table where Mary and Nancy and I sat. We had a nice lunch.

I had a text from Toni while I was at Nancy's and she said she could take me at 8:30AM tomorrow for my hair appointment. I agreed that would be fine. So I will leave here shortly before 8:00AM in the morning. After my hair appointment, I will need to go to the bank and cash a check.

I will read this afternoon. I am tired now. More Later...

When I got home I put away the trash containers and read for awhile again. Then when I was tired of reading I broke out anther puzzle and worked on that for an hour.

Stephen texted me to thank me for putting away their  trash containers too. I told him it was no big deal.

I had an e-mail from Sherry Epps about a new tour on February 15th. It's to Ponca City and I signed up for it. I will wear a face mask if we go. I have wanted to go to the Pioneer Woman museum and this will allow me to see that.

Now it's time for my bath and to get my p.j.s on. It's 7:00PM. I will try to read until 9:00PM or 10:00PM before I go to bed.

Monday and A Startling Incident

I slept very well last night again. I didn't wake up once in the night. I was up at shortly after 5:00AM and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast now and it is 6:35AM .

I had a surprising thing happen this morning to one of the doors above the stool in the bathroom. As I went to open it to get my nail polish, the entire right door and hinge pulled away from the cabinet....the attached wood and all. The top hinge came completely out of the wood.  How on earth that happened, I don't have a clue. I had no warning at all. I hate to tell Stephen about it because I don't see how it can be fixed. If the bottom hinge hadn't still been attached, the entire right door would have come off in my hand...wood and all. Maybe if there is an extra long screw I could put in it, that might hold it. I will check that out when Dollar General opens this morning.

I got a Phillips screwdriver and my step stool and took the entire door off and I am not sure how it can be screwed back in. It's too awkward for me to handle. I will have to get  Stephen to do it. But someone stronger then me will have to put it back on.

It  is 7:02AM now and I will go check "the weather on the 8's" and see if the cats are out there ready to eat their breakfast.

It's 16 degrees out there and neither of the cats came out in the cold to eat.

I contacted my son-in-law, John, and asked him if he had time today to drop by and see if he could rehang that cabinet door. He is going to try to work it in around noon when he is in Caney. I don't know whether it will reattach with those short screws or not....especially that top one. It's a kind of a strange hinge probably just meant for a cabinet door.

It's 11:06AM and I have been reading all morning.  Sometime in the next hour John will drop by and see if he can do anything with that cabinet door.

John dropped by about 11:35AM and in about 15 minutes he had that door back on the cabinet! He was tall enough to get to it and knew what he was doing.

I will handle that door with care from now on...knowing how hard it is to get that screw in just right.

It's still 16 degrees out there. And I still haven't seen the cats.

The sun is shining brightly and it's 34 degrees now. It's 2:37PM now. I stopped up at the repair shop about that light on my dash that won't go off. It says TPMS and that stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Besides the symbol on the dash that lights up when the tire pressure is too low, there is also the TPMS light on the dash that indicates that one or more of the tires pressure is too low and that TPMS light indicates there is a malfunction in the sensor in one or more of the tires.

My mechanic learned that the malfunctioning sensor was the driver's side rear tire. I just paid $65.00 last year to have that sensor replaced and now it is malfunctioning again. On a 14 year old car, I am not going to have the same sensor replaced again. I will just depend on the dash indicator light to indicate that I have a low tire and after John filled each of my tires yesterday, I drove about a mile and that light went off.

As I was getting ready to go to Dollar General, I backed out of the garage and saw Scruff run around the corner of my house. She had been waiting to some dinner. So  stopped the car and sat the cat food out for her ...hoping she would come back and eat after I left.

So I went out to Dollar General and bought another mesh bag to do laundry with and also another contact case. Then I went by Sonic and bought a medium cherry limeade slush. I am still using the gift card Suzanne gave me for Christmas.

When I got home, she had been there and eaten a little food from the square dish...her favorite dish. Then I took it back in the garage.

It's 6:46PM now and in a little while I will go take my bath. I plan to read until my eyes get tired and then go to bed...probably about 10:00PM.

Sunday and Church

Once again, I slept very well and didn't wake up once all night. I went to bed at 10:00PM and that must be the trick. There was nothing I was interested in on TV so I worked that second puzzle all afternoon.

I have finished my breakfast and will soon go check on "the weather on the 8's" and the cats. I see it's 12 degrees out there this morning and cloudy. That's the coldest day this year so far.  The furnace is running off and on all morning. I dread getting out but don't want to miss church at 11:00AM. We have been foregoing church school classes since the pandemic. And now the omicron variant infects some who are fully vaccinated like Scott. And he had had his booster shot too. There's no getting through this mess until everyone gets fully vaccinated and some people are so ignorant they won't get vaccinated.

Of course his only lasted about 4 days and then he was fine. Thank goodness! And Keith still has shingles but he is living with it until it clears up. He has taken all his meds and had had both shingles shots too. Strange.....

I'll go watch the weather now and check on the cats too. Only Blondie came for breakfast and I could understand why. It was 12 degrees out there. After he ate I put away the food. Scruff never came.

I turned of the TV and read until time to leave for church. It's 9:47AM now   and I should leave for church now.

More later....

Karan had a very good sermon today. We had several missing because of the snow and ice but she still had a nice sermon. I sent out the leftover bulletins and a short letter to those who weren't there so they would have the announcements. They will go out in tomorrow's mail. Johnna will speak next Sunday. Melissa will speak the following Sunday and Leslie speaks on the following one. I speak the last Sunday of the month. My theme is "Speak Truth to Power".

When I got home, I went to the Caney Market and bought what I needed in frozen dinners. I still like to eat out on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Fridays and of course...on Sundays.

More later..I will go read now.

I have read for quite awhile and now I am going to watch the Mission Center service. I am recording the 60 Minutes program.

I watched the program and Vivian did a good job.

I just took my bath. Now I am going to read again. It's 7:17PM now and I would like to read until 10:00PM  and then go to bed.

I checked on Scruff this evening and she never came at all today. Blondie was here this morning but I didn't see him this evening either. It's 23 degrees out there and that may have something to do with it.

I believe Scruff is pregnant and if she is and has had kittens, this is a terrible time to be trying to keep several kittens warm as well as herself.

I hope I am wrong and she has just gained some weight
