Saturday and Finish Dusting

I slept well again last night and only woke up once and took my two meds and went right back to bed and back to sleep. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

In a bit, I will start my breakfast and turn on the TV and watch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats. Scruff never came yesterday at all and Blondie came pretty early, ate some of the food and drank a lot of fresh water. The rain water in the street gutters must be filthy. When I put that fresh water out there, he stopped eating and drank a lot of it.

I will go start my breakfast now. 

Scruff came for her breakfast this morning but I haven't seen Blondie yet this morning. She waiting for him but he hasn't come yet. I will leave  the food out there a little while just in case he comes later..."the weather on the 8's" hasn't come on yet. Maybe it will come in one minute when 6:08AM becomes the time. 

I did catch the weather forecast at last. Today will be 51 degrees and mostly cloudy and windy,  Sunday is to be 66 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 67 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 69 degrees and showers, Thursday is to be 46 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 47 degrees and showers. Well, that's a couple of days of rain...we can use all we can get! The Caney river is very low

I went out to John and Leslie's to see the puppies. Afterward I came back home and read awhile in my Kindle until I went to the Copan Restaurant for my lunch.  Then I came back home and will read some more in my Kindle.

When I got back home, i read in my latest Kindle book for most of the afternoon.  About thirty minutes ago I started watching the PGA golf tournament. Then I changed to the ABC news. It's 5:52PM now and about 7:00PM, I will take my bath and put my pajamas on and my robe.

Friday and Dusting

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night,took my two meds and went back to bed and back to sleep. I am generally sleeping better nowadays for some strange reason. I still have sinus drainage but it doesn't seem to be as bad.

In a bit, I will make my breakfast and a little later I will check on the cats. They didn't come at all yesterday so they may come this morning.

More Later...I will fix my breakfast now . I am having my breakfast here in the living room. I caught "the weather on the 8's" but so far there are no cats out there..again. It's not quite 6:00AM yet so maybe they will make it yet.

Friday's weather is to be 48 degrees and sunny,  Saturday is to be 51 degrees and cloudy and windy, Sunday is to be 65 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 64 degrees and mostly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 68 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 65 degrees and showers,  Thursday is to be 43 degrees and sunny.  That's the week! Wednesday appears to be the only rain. Whatever we get we are thankful for!

I will check for the cats again.

Blondie was out there but I don't see anything of Scruff. I took Blondie out some fresh water too and he is drinking that now. He is drinking a lot of that water.... now he is back to eating the cat food..hungrily!

 I will leave that food out there awhile just in case she comes a little later.

I left the cat food out there for about 30 Minutes and then brought it in and put it in the garage  and covered it.  

I read until the mail came and then picked up the flyer in the mailbox and filed it in the trash. 

Then I read until lunch time and went out to Eggbert's to have a small salad. Halfway through the salad, the waitress came over and said my lunch had been paid for by one of the customers. She didn't say which one.

Then I went to the market and bought some needed groceries. 

I called the Merle Norman shop in Chanute and ordered some Moisture Emulsion and wrote a check for it and put it in the mailbox and put the flag up.  

Then I read my Kindle the rest of the afternoon until the CBS news came on. It's 6:05PM now and a little early for my bath. I take that at 7:00PM. I will download another book for my Kindle and read until bath time. Then I will go to bed at 9:00PM

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well again last night and only woke up once, took my two meds and went right back to sleep. I was up and dressed by 5:15AM. I will fix my breakfast soon and also check on the cats and turn on the TV to catch "the weather on the 8's". I will clean the apartment again today.  I do that once a week...usually on Thursdays.

No cats yet...but I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Today is to be 33 degrees and cloudy, Friday is to be 48 degrees and sunny,  Saturday is to be 51 degrees and mostly cloudy, Sunday is to be 61 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 62 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 65 degrees and mostly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 58 degrees and AM showers. At least there is one day of rain in the forecast. We still need rain to fill the Caney River.

I started my cleaning with the mopping of the bare floors. I put the throw rugs in the dryer on "fresh air" and let them tumble while I mopped the bare floors and vacuumed. Then I put them back on the floors where they belonged. I emptied the vacuum and am charging it now. After it finishes charging, I will clean the filter. It takes about four hours to charge.

I will dust tomorrow.  I am always too tired after the cleaning.

It's 9:01 AM now and I am going to read on the library book I got from the Coffeyville library yesterday. And I finished it.

More Later...

I took the pair of pants Sally gave me to take to Nancy down to Nancy's and they were way too big. So I went over to Walmart across the street from the assisted living and traded them for the XXL20 size she wears now. Then I took them to her and had her try them on.They fit well.  Then after I left her, I went back over to the Walmart store and found another pair of the same brand and size in a different color. I charged them on the debit card Dale gave me for her clothes. I will take those to her Monday when I go to visit her. We will try to meet Sally so she can thank her for thinking of her. Sally is another great thoughtful gal! 

Nancy was very happy to get another different pair of pants to wear. With this new one I have for her on Monday, that will give her three different pair to wear.

It's almost 5:00PM now. When I got home I cleaned the filter unit on the sweeper like Leslie showed me how to do it. And of course, it was fully charged by then.

I am going to go in the living room and check on the CBS news.

I watched the CBS news and then went to my bath.   After the bath, I went back to my Kindle to read until 8:48PM. when I decided to go to on to bed.

A Call From a Niece

A week or so ago, I heard from one of my nieces that she had had a physical and learned she had an aneurysm. She wanted to have it repaired but the cardiologist thought it best to leave it alone.  My doctor friend said that was the best thing to do though... since it could be in a very dangerous place that is too hard to get to and could do more damage then just leaving it alone unless it gets bigger and could rupture. That would be the time to have it repaired. .

An aneurysm is a thinning or ballooning of the wall of a blood vessel.

Wednesday and Bunco

 I slept very well last night...didn't wake up but once in the night and then got right back to sleep without any trouble.

Today I will go over to Coffeyville and get my hair done at 9:00AM and then read at the library there and after that, at 1:00PM, I will go to the senior center and play Bunco. That's always good fun and gives me some fellowship.

I am eating my breakfast here in the den now. In a little while, I will go turn on "the weather on the 8's" on the TV and check on the cats. They never came at all yesterday so unless they found food somewhere else surely they will come today.

Both cats were out there...very hungry.  They are eating hungrily and sharing the food well. 

Blondie ate quickly and has left but Scruff is still eating out there. There were lots of leaves out there where they eat but I got most of them out of the way and tossed them behind the hedge.

I missed the weather on the 8's but it will be on again at 6:38AM and I will catch it then.

Now Scruff was filled up and has left too. 

I finally caught the weather forecast. Today is  to be 38 degrees and mostly sunny,  Thursday is to be 35 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 48 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 54 degrees and cloudy, Sunday is to be 63 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be  63 degrees and partly cloudy, and Tuesday is to be 57 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week...no more rain this next week.

I stopped by Marilyn's after the Bunco games and took her my leftover treats for her morning coffee tomorrow. We had a nice visit.

Then I came on back home after we had had a good visit. It's 4:39PM now. I didn't have any mail...not even junk mail. 

I will go out to Sonic and get an ice cream treat later or at least the child's Wacky Pack. 

I got a small ice cream sundae at Sonic and then came back home to read in my book. At 7:30PM. I took my bath and put my pajamas on and my robe. I will read until 9:00PM, my regular bedtime.

Tuesday and a Quiet Day

I slept fairly well last night...was up a couple of times...once to take my two meds... but managed to get back to sleep.  I was up early then and made my bed and got dressed and ready for the day. Today is supposed to have rain and wind so I don't plan on going anywhere and will probably just read. I am slowly plugging my way through the second book. 

I am eating my breakfast here in the den right now. It's only 5:55AM. The computer says it's 50 degrees though and cloudy. I doubt the cats will be out there this early although I will check shortly.

I will take the laptop in the living room to watch for "the weather on the 8's". 

I opened the door to check on the cats and it's raining hard out there..so they are not out there this morning....not yet anyway.

I caught the weather forecast. Today is to be 61 degrees and  AM rain and wind. Wednesday is to be 60 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 35 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun. Friday is to be 48 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 65 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 65 degrees and  partly cloudy. That's the week. Today's rain is going to be the bulk of the moisture this week.

It's 11:21AM now and I just returned from the  market. I bought water and another coffeecake mix.  I will use that on next Sunday for the church breakfast. I have read most of the morning. In a little bit I will warm up some of Leslie's stew for my lunch.

 That should be good for a day like today.

I haven't seen anything of either of the cats today...too much rain, I guess!

I got a Valentine card from my friend, Dean. That was nice of him! I sent him a "thank you" note.

I will warm up my stew now and eat my lunch.

I had a nice big bowl of Leslie's stew for my lunch and read until 2:00PM when I finished that second book. I took it up to the book drop at the library and dropped it in there. I won't get another today. I will wait until tomorrow and drop into the Coffeyville library and try to find another book or two there. I go over to Coffeyville every Wednesday anyhow and can return those when I am over there.

My hair appointment tomorrow is at 9:00AM in Coffeyville and there is Bunco in the afternoon from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the senior center. 

Now I will read my new Reader's Digest.

More Later...

I read my Reader's Digest and then went up to Mr. G's and had a small Butter Pecan Flurry...an ice cream treat.

Now I will go back to the book I have on Kindle. But first..I will take my bath, put my pajamas on and my robe. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM but it's only 6:32PM right now so I will read until then.

 

Monday and A Trip to Visit Nancy

I slept well last night but was awake an hour earlier then I usually get up. So it wasn't quite 5:00AM when I got out of bed, made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am doing my usual Monday laundry and just put it in the dryer. I am doing my jacket again too as well as the underwear and towels. The jacket tends to get makeup on it as I wear it every day anymore since it usually cold. 

After I have my breakfast and put away the laundry when it's dry, I will leave for Bartlesville  to visit Nancy. Now, if David and his wife are there, I won't go today. Maybe I will go later in the week after they leave. I think Dale said they would be coming today. I will need to check my notes. It's March 5th that David is coming to see Nancy.

I evidently didn't make any notes about when David would be coming earlier. I think it  was a Saturday but can't be sure. It could even be today. I will text Dale later this morning....or drive by Nancy's house.They were going to stay there.

Wednesday is to be 61 degrees and sunny, Thursday is to be 36 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 47 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 54 degrees and partly cloudy and Sunday is to be 63 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week...a little rain..especially tomorrow.

After I took care of the weather, Scruff came back for some more food and Blondie came too and they both were hungry so I took the food back out and they both ate more. 

I got the laundry dried and put away. In a little bit I will drive by Nancy's house and see if David and his wife are there. They would have a rental car and it would be setting under the car port. I will check soon.  Then I would know whether to go on down to see Nancy today.

More Even Later... 

Dale said David would be here March 5th. This time I made  a note of it. 

I tried to log onto the church's site to join the  group discussing the various legislation but it never happened. They never admitted me to the meeting...however that works.

I give up!

I will go on down to  visit with Nancy and try again to take her shopping for some new clothes.

I did go down and visit Nancy and we had lunch with Sally. There were several men sitting at the next table and when they left, our waitress told us they had paid for our lunch. We were puzzled. None of us had paid any attention to them at all. We just visited with one another. We were happy for the free lunch but confused as to why they did that.

Anyhow after we finished our lunch and left, I took Nancy to TJ Maxx and had her try on some XL slacks with an elastic waistband.  They fit her fine but were way too long. We asked if the clerk had some pins so we could pin them up and have them altered but they did not. She put on her own slacks again and we rehung the ones she had tried on.  If we go back there next week, I will take some pins with me.  Or we may try another store since we know the size she needs now. She needs an XL short or petite. She was very tired and I took her back to the Assisted Living and she went in to go to her apartment there.

I came on back home.

I went to the post office and bought some more stamps and mailed my note back to Kay Wilson. I will share her note with Phyllis when I see her. She asked me to do that. She did not have an address for Phyllis. I sent her Phyllis' name and address on another card I sent her. I also sent her a copy of our bulletin that listed her on the list for prayer.

Stephen and Dee Anna brought me a Valentine gift..chocolates!! and  a lovely Valentine! He also climbed up in the bathroom on my step stool and changed my burned out bathroom light bulb.

They are such fine thoughtful people. Both of them!

Again I tried to log on the 6:00PM Church site to join the discussion of the G-6 Resolution but I never was able to get them to log on to my Zoom site. I guess I just don't understand how it works so I am not going to be able to do that. I hate that because I really would like to follow the discussion. 

I took my bath at 6:45PM and got into my pajamas and robe. I guess I will read again. I put lotion on my feet and put my blue night socks on over it.I keep hoping my feet will soften up.....especially the one with the failed bunion surgery. It's the worst.

I will read until 9:00PM..almost two hours.

 

 

Sunday and Church and the Superbowl

I slept well last night again and was up early as usual to make my coffeecake. It's in the oven now baking. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. 

We won't need cookies today at church ....that's next week. We will need them on the 19th for Tuesday the 21st..according to the pastor there at the First Christian Church in Independence. It's every other week now until June.

I missed the weather forecast while I was putting together the coffeecake. It will be on again later and I will catch it then.

I will go check on the cats  next.

They were both there and I took their food out to them.

That's the week and only a little rain again.

Both cats are gone now and I should get their food back in the garage before the birds find it.

More Even Later ....

I left for church early enough to get cash at the bank and to get gas at Woodshed.  After church Phyllis and Karan and I had lunch at Eggbert's in Coffeyville.

I spent an hour or so sending out letters and announcements to the members who were not at church this morning to announce that Leslie has been called to be a High Priest at the World Church and Mission Center and one of the three of the presidency of the Mission Center. 

She would like as many of the congregation as possible to be at that service. It's March 18th at 9:00AM.

Sally is coming over today about 4:45PM to watch the Superbowl with me. I'm so glad I asked her. It will be more fun watching it with Sally instead of by myself.

Sally came about 5:15PM and brought lots of treats. Fr the first half the other team was ahead but the last half, the Chiefs got themselves together and every time they had the ball they scored and finally won 38 to 35. It was close alright. and Mahomes was named most valuable player. 

Sally left about 10:00PM. We had a lot of good treats to eat and she left me some very good sweet tea. 

I was glad I invited her. 

I took my bath at 10:30PM and I'll go to bed very soon. I am very tired. It has been a big day.
