Saturday and Dean Returns Home.

I slept well again on the trundle that goes under the daybed. I was up at 5:00AM as usual. I put away the trundle and crept into the bathroom nd made up my face. for the day. I had brought fresh clothes into the den where I was sleeping. Dean is still sleeping. He sleeps late and he uses a C pack machine for his sleep apnea.

I will eat a breakfast bar while I wait for him to wake up and get up. And I will have my coffee and Chai.

Now I will go turn on the TV to get the weather forecast and check for Blondie, the cat. I will get back to this later..

Blondie came for his breakfast and I fed him and also gave him some fresh water...he ate and drank some of that water and then left. I will put his food back in the garage and cover it next.

But first..I have the new weather forecast from the "weather on the 8's"

Today is to be 88 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 93 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 97 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 99 degrees and partly cloudy,  Thursday is to be 98 degrees and 98 degrees and mostly sunny. and Friday is to be 97 degrees and mostly sunny.  That's the week! No rain this next week. Just hot weather.

More Later...

I took my walk this morning and got back home at 8:10AM. I got very little trash this morning but I got enough yesterday for two days. I texted Esther at 7:41AM and she got right back to me with her usual cheery greeting. She is a treasure!

Dean is still sleeping. He slept until almost noon yesterday. I had a breakfast bar and a cup of coffee and a cup of Chai Latte before my walk.

Dean awoke and wanted to go out to Eggbert's for breakfast. After breakfast he was ready to leave for home. He packed and left at 9:30AM.

Then I went to Dollar General and bought a few things I needed. I am thinking of going to Bartlesville and washing my car. I washed it Monday and then Monday evening and Tuesday morning it rained and ruined the car wash. So all week it has looked pitiful. It was in the garage the past three days so it wasn't all that noticeable.

More Later...

Instead of going to Bartlesville, I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to Independence to the Dairy Queen and get their $7.00 special. She did. So I picked her up shortly before noon and we drove up to Independence the Dairy Queen and had that great special of theirs. That included three large pieces of chicken, a large drink, french fries with gravy on the side and a small hot fudge sundae. It was very good. That's the second time Sally and I had that great special.

I trimmed the hedge this afternoon and also swept off my small patio and door mat and filled the bird bath with water. And watered my plants. I also swept off Stephen's door mat.

I read in the afternoon in Bob Woodward's book again about Trump's presidency. It's called "Fear". I had read it when it first came out and I determined I could never under any circumstances vote for him. For one thing I had seen the video they showed of him showing his RV to a reporter and telling him the good thing about having one to show off to a woman was that once they got in the RV, you could do anything you wanted with them. That made me even more determined to never vote for him.  After I read Woodward's book, I wondered why anyone would ever vote for him. And then after the January fiasco, I was even more determined not to ever vote for him. Then I read his niece's book about her experience of him cheating her out of her inheritance from her father. That cemented my determination!

Then at 7:00PM, I took my bath and will go back to the book and read until my bedtime. That will probably be 9:00PM.

I had read until 8:40PM , and I had decided to charge the night watch on the USB port on the desktop computer. By 8:49PM, it was fully charged. And I was ready for bed.

So More Tomorrow.

Friday and Rain.

Sometime in the early morning, it began to rain hard. I sneaked into the bathroom and made up my face and then dressed in the den.  I made up my trundle bed the best I could. I had slept well and was only up once in the night to go to the bathroom and take my meds.

Dean is still sleeping. He sleeps with a C pack like Keith. But he seems to sleep well even away from home. I will turn on the TV for "the weather on the 8's". I will keep it low. I don't want to wake Dean at 6:43 AM. The thunder may do that. It is quite noisy. But the C pack may muffle it some.

Blondie came for his breakfast even in the rain. I put the food down next to my front door..just outside the front door. It was raining then but not hard.  I didn't get wet taking it out to the front door. After he ate his fill he sat next to the front door on the door mat and dried himself.

I left the food out there until he decides to leave. It is still raining  with lots of thunder.

After Blondie left I took the cat food back in the garage and covered it .

I did get the weather forecast. Today it is to be 77 degrees and strong thunderstorms.  tomorrow is to be 88 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 91 degrees and sunny, Monday is to be 95 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 99 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 99 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 100 degrees and mostly sunny.

More Later... It's 10:25AM now and Dean is still asleep.

I left for my walk about  11;05AM and got back home by 11:38AM. The rain had stopped and Dean was still asleep so I took my umbrella... just in case. When I got back, he was still sleeping.

Dean got up after 12:30PM and we went up to Independence, Kansas for lunch. When we got back to my home, we visited and looked through our annuals. Later we have a small bowl of ice cream at supper time and then went out to Sonic and I had a cherry limeade slush and Dean had a hot dog. Then we watched 20/20 on TV and later I got my bath over with and got ready for bed at 10:47PM. I brought my clothes for tomorrow in the den, Dean stayed up and watched TV for awhile.

More Tomorrow.

Thursday and Dean Comes Today

I slept well last night again on the daybed trundle. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made up the trundle and dressed. Now I need to go make up my face and get my breakfast, "the weather on the 8's" and see if Blondie is out there waiting for his breakfast.

Blondie wasn't out there waiting for his breakfast but I did catch the weather report.

Today is to be 91 degrees and AM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 80 degrees AM rain, and  Saturday is to be 88 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 91 degrees and  mostly sunny, Monday is to be 95 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 98 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week... two days of rain and 80 to100 degrees otherwise.

I went to the market to get some things I needed and it was 7:29AM. They open at 8:00AM but the Market was dark and it appeared no one was there.  So I went out to Dollar General to get my groceries. They were open so that is where I got my groceries.

More Later...

I just talked to Dean.  It's 1:00PM and he is just getting ready to leave for Coffeyville. He should be here by dinner time. He wants me to think of a place to go for supper. It's a three and a half hour drive from Topeka to Caney, I also spoke to Rod, his son, and said "hello" to him.

I guess Sally and I will go have lunch at Big Cheese in Independence.

And that's what we did. I bought lunch this time. When I got back home after taking Sally back home, I finished reading my book.

Later this afternoon, Dean came. He had had only snacks on his trip to Caney from Topeka so we went out to Eggbert's and had their small chef salad for supper..

Then we came back to the house and stayed up until almost midnight visiting and swapping stories. He stayed up a little later then I did  and watch a little TV. I was very tired and took my bath and went on to bed first. He had had a 3 1/2 hour trip from Topeka but we enjoyed swapping stories. all evening..

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well last night even though I slept on the trundle to my day bed. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made up the trundle and dressed for the day. I have  a 9:00AM hair appointment and then Bunco in the afternoon from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the senior center there in Coffeyville. I will take the book I have been reading and probably finish it there in the parking lot in Coffeyville. I would like to get a pedicure. I really need it. It's been awhile.

No sign yet of Blondie.

But I did catch "the weather on the 8's". Today is to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 98 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Friday is to be 80 degrees and AM showers, Saturday is to be 88 degrees and sunny and Sunday is to be 93 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 97 degrees and sunny, and Tuesday is to be 100 degrees and sunny. That's the week. It looks like one day of rain and some very hot weather..

I guess it's to be expected...and it's not even August yet.

Blondie did finally come for his breakfast.. I fed him and when he was finished I took the cat food in the garage and covered it.

More Even Later..

I left for my walk about 6:30AM and got back home at 7:14AM.  Just about the time I think I am making headway on the trash pickup, I find another bunch of it. My grocery sack was completely full of trash from the street. On 4th street, which if the downtown area, there was several sacks on the sidewalk of french fry packages and also several big pieces of foil both on the sidewalk and the gutters.

I don't understand why people can't put their trash in trash containers. There are trash containers everywhere... even downtown. Yet they just throw it onto the sidewalk and along the curb.

Disgusting!

It's 7:21AM now and at 8:00AM, I will start for Coffeyville.

More Later this afternoon.

I got to Coffeyville in time for my hair appointment. Then I went to the bank to get some cash. The bank was still down. So I went to old Condon site and that one was down too. Then I went way out on NE street and found one that was working there. I put my right blinker on to turn into it and the was a car right behind me and coming very fast. I had to honk my horn loudly to get him to realize he was going to hit me. He swerved in time to miss me.  At least that ATM was working and I got the money for my pedicure.

I went out to Shelter Insurance but Lacey wasn't there. I waited thirty minutes until she came in. I needed to get another insurance card to show that I had paid it up.

Then I went to the Coffeyville library and checked out a book to read until 1:00 PM when I had Bunco.  There were 11 of us. We played until 3:30PM and then I went over to Marilyn's to visit and after an hour I came on back home.

I saw Stephen mowing and trimming and decided to get mine trimmed too. Mr. G mowed for me yesterday.

More Even Later. I think I will read again.

I read until a little after 7:00PM and then  I took my bath. Then I read until 9:00PM and went on to bed. I was very tired. It had been a big day.

Tuesday and a Trip to Independence Kansas

I slept fairly well last night. At least I was always able to get back to sleep when I woke up. I was up at 5:00AM as usual and changed my bed,  dressed, and got myself ready for the day.

I will take the cookies up to Independence to the First Christian Church..for a light dessert for their Tuesday dinner.

I am ready for Dean...if he is able to come on Thursday.  It all depends on how Rod is doing.

Blondie was out at my front door this morning and I took him some food. He was very friendly and kept rubbing on my legs as I was bringing his food out.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and it is going to be a more  dry week. The only rain I see is on Friday and that is light rain in the morning on Friday.

Today is to be 104 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 97 degrees and  partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 91 degrees in the AM and clouds in the PM and sunny. Friday is to be 80 degrees and AM light rain, Saturday is to be 88 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 92 degrees and sunny, and Monday is to be 96 degrees and mostly sunny.

That's kind of  a different week...not much rain but plenty of heat!..

It's 6:48 degrees and I might as well take my walk.

I got back from my walk at 7:27AM.  There was plenty of trash to be picked up..at least a half a grocery sack....maybe more. I put some crumbled foil in a trash container on 4th street.

I need to fix myself some breakfast. I put my laundry in the dryer with a couple of dryer sheets. That will take a while to dry.

 So, more even later.

My laundry got dry and I folded everything up and put everything away.

Then I found I couldn't get into my bank account since they had me change the password.  I called the bank and they gave me help. It is fine now but I had to change the password.

More Even Later..

When I got back from Independence where I had bought gas, I attempted to get into my bank account online using the new password and it would not work. I tried several new passwords and none of them would work. Finally I came up with one that worked. I hope it will work the next time I try to get into my account.

What a mess!

Monday and a Trip to Bartlesville

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I haven't had my breakfast yet.I was waiting for "the weather on the 8's". I finally caught it.

Today is supposed to be 91 degrees and thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 102 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 98 degrees and mostly cloudy, Thursday is supposed to be 91 degrees and mostly cloudy, Friday is to be 81 degrees and AM showers, Saturday is to be 88 degrees and mostly sunny, and Sunday is to be 91 degrees and partly cloudy. Another very hot week and two days of rain.

I looked outside for Blondie but didn't see a sign of him yet.

I will be picking Sally up for my trip to Bartlesville.  Her car is back in the shop for yet another repair and she needs a ride to her job at the YMCA there in Bartlesville where she does water physical therapy.

Then I will go visit Nancy until time to pick up Sally at her work and go to lunch.

More Later...

I got Sally to her work on time and went to visit Nancy  at her Assisted Living. While I was there, her physical therapy man came and put her through her physical therapy. He wants her to be able to use her muscles and not fall again. As it turns out, she did break her nose when she fell a couple of weeks ago. She looked fine today but she was in her night gown and duster and never got dressed so I didn't take her out. By the time she finished her therapy, it was time to go pick up Sally and we had breakfast there at the Boulevard Cafe.

Then we started home to Caney. A storm came up and it rained hard. I was afraid it was going to hail but I don't think it did. But it rained hard. I told Sally I could take her on Friday if she needed me but Wednesday I had Bunco and my hair appointment and I would be at the senior center in Coffeyville later that day.

I took my bath about 7:00PM and put my pajamas on and my robe and will read on one of the two books I checked out at the Caney Library until my bedtime about 9:00PM.

Tomorrow I will take the cookies from the congregation to the First Christian Church in Independence, Kansas. I may see if Sally would like to go with me and we could eat lunch at Big Cheese there.

Sunday and Church Breakfast

I slept pretty well last night. I was up once or twice to go to the bathroom but I got right back to sleep. I was up at my usual 5:00AM and drank my coffee and chai latte and started right in on my coffeecake for the church breakfast. It is in the oven now.

Blondie was nowhere to be seen this morning. Strange...

I did catch the weather forecast though. Today is to be 95 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 93 degrees and isolated thunderstorms.and Tuesday is to be 102 degrees partly cloudy and windy, Wednesday is to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy, and Thursday is to be 93 degrees isolated thunderstorms and Friday is to be 85 degrees and rain Saturday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy. That's three days of rain and Karan's roof is still leaking if the plastic is not well attached.

I hope Jim, her stepson, can get started on the repairs next week. But she's still waiting for the assessor first. Otherwise it's going to be a catastrophe.

More later...

The coffeecake is baked and cooled and I have it glazed and covered. I am going on over to Coffeyville and stopping by the bank to get some money. I may get gas too...depending on whether my gas is low.

Sally just called me. She is needing a ride to work tomorrow. Her car is back in the shop with another problem. I will be going to visit Nancy tomorrow so I will take her to work at the YMCA. I will pick her up for her breakfast after the class she does is finished at 11:30. She does water physical therapy there at the YMCA. She has 22 people in her class.

The last time I was down to see Nancy her cousin, Dale, had taken her to the doctor. She had fallen and her face was all bruised up. So it's been a couple of weeks since I have spent any time with her.
