Saturday and Reading My Book

I slept well last night even though I woke up twice to strange noises. It must have been the furnace duct work expanding and contracting as it went on and off.

Anyhow, I got up about 5:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day and fed myself my oatmeal
and coffee and chia and then fed two of the cats their breakfast.

Then I read all morning until I finished my latest book

The sun is shining today. I may call Gay and see if she is free for lunch.

More later...

Gay says it is beautiful there and it is certainly beautiful here so I will drive up to Chanute and have lunch with her at Opie's. I will need to leave about 10:30AM which is about 15 minutes from now.

So more even later....

I had forgotten that Caney is 66 miles from Chanute instead of 50 like it was from Coffeyville so I was 10 minutes or so late to our lunch. However we ate and stayed until 3:00PM and visited when I finally decided I had better get home. I did stop and get gas at Love's there in Chanute. It was $2.19....not too bad a price.

I am doing a load of laundry now. It is mostly towels and underwear. I had my bath shortly after 6:15PM and was going to read but discovered my third book was one I had already read.

I fed at least two cats, mama cat and Big Yellow Tom and for a little while the third little yellow one came and ate.

I watched two programs I had recorded this morning "Lucky Dog" was one of them. It is on CBS at 10:00AM on Saturdays.

I will try to stay up until 9:00PM. I am having Alexa play some music.

Friday and Make Up Housework.

I slept well last night...probably because I read instead of watching TV. Anyhow, I wa sup shortly before 5:00AM and dressed and had my oatmeal and coffee and chai. I saw two cats waiting for breakfast and again had to go out through the garage to take their food out to keep one of them (mama cat) from coming in the apartment. I sure don't want to go through that mess again.

I want to watch  "CBS This Morning" while I post this blog.

Later, after the news is over, I will start cleaning this apartment.

So more later..

O.K. I got the kitchen, foyer and bathroom floors mopped and the carpets vacuumed. I will need to dust later...

I just had Schwan's chicken pot pie for my lunch ..pretty good for a frozen meal. I placed an order for the next time he stops here in two weeks. I forgot about using the last of the chicken pot pies. I will ask him when he comes if he has any on the truck. He was here yesterday but I had no room in my freezer since I had Tuesday's cake in there frozen and two of three frozen meals from Walmart too.

I also worked the crossword puzzle in the Reporter this morning.

More even later...

I read all afternoon and later watched a couple of programs I had recorded.

As soon as it got dark I checked out which cats were wanting dinner. There were two of them: mama cat and big yellow Tom. I fed them and then brought in the bowls before the possum came back to eat.

At  7:00PM, I took my bath and at 9:00PM, I went on to bed.

Thursday and Housekeeping Day

Today is the day I usually clean. I think I will bake my cake for next Tuesday today and freeze it. That way I can take it to church on Sunday. and put it in the freezer there.

I slept well again last night and got up about 5:00AM. I have had my oatmeal and coffee and three cats came for breakfast this morning so I took out the divided bowl and two blue bowls. They are all three out there eating now.  It is mama cat, big yellow Tom and yellow half grown kitten.

I see John Wade, my class treasurer, sent me a $20.00 bill to reimburse me for paying for the printing. That's fine but several classmates had sent me money for that and for myself for doing the letter. So far only one has come back and that was from a South Coffeyville classmate.

It looks like the cats are finished eating so I will go back out and get the bowls.

More later.

I baked my cake for next Tuesday's "cake day". It is cooled now and I need to ice it and get it into the freezer. I will take it to church  on Sunday and put it into the freezer there. But right now I'd better got it iced.

More even later....

I never did get the apartment cleaned today. I went over to Nancy's to check on her and while I was there, Dale, her cousin, came. His wife still has a sinus infection so they will wait until early February to go out of town. He picked up one of her light bulbs (the old kind not easily found) to take to Lowe's to buy and also her silk shade lampshade that finally wore out and shredded this morning.   He said he could find those at Lowe's too.

After awhile, I left. It was lunch time and I wanted Nancy to eat something. She had not had breakfast either. She had stew to eat.

I came home and read all afternoon and finished another book and started another. That's why I didn't get my housework down.  I will do it tomorrow.

I watched an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" that I must have missed when it ran the first time around and then took my bath. I watched some Saturday morning programs I had recorded and finally went to bed shortly before 9:00PM

Wednesday and Bunco at Asbury

I woke up about 5:00AM this morning and that was fine. I was going to pick Bob up for breakfast at 7:00AM and I needed to get ready myself and feed the two cats that showed up for breakfast. I left here at 6:30AM and it was pitch black out...clouds over head.  and put them on I was very careful going to Coffeyville. I picked Bob up and took the groceries I got at the food pantry and put them on the free table at Sycamore Landing. The folks that live there will use them.

Then after that I went to Woodshed to get gas, went to Walmart to get groceries and then went by the jeweler's to get a new battery for my watch. Walmart in Coffeyville has got rid of their jewelry table and are not doing watch batteries anymore.

I then got my hair done and went to the library and returned the book I got there last week. I went by the bank and cashed that check for Coffeyville's ReAwakening and took it by their office. Then I went to the shop and got my hair done then went to Shelter and aid my insurance for the car. After that I went to the hospital and saw Sue, my cousin who is in there with a broken hip. That happened the day before Christmas and she gets to go home tomorrow.

I went to our church and took some paper towels I had bought for the church in there and put them away.

Then at 2:00PM, I went to bunco at Asbury Village. Marilyn brought the bowl back that I had sent home with her  last week with strawberries in it. She put some cookies and fudge in there.  Yum!!

After we played, I came back home and got my mail and read it and read my newspapers

I will watch the news in a little bit. Soon the cats will be coming over for their supper.

Only mama cat came for supper. I fed her and watched the weather for awhile and then went to take my bath and went on to bed at 9:00PM. I was very tired! It had been a huge day!

Tuesday and a Good Night's Sleep

I slept well last night. I slept until 6:00AM even though I had woke up twice in the night...to go to the bathroom once and to take my meds the second time. I still was able to get back to sleep. I have been watching the news this morning. So I haven't watched "Bull" yet.

I have had my oatmeal and coffee and chai latte too.

Three cats came to eat breakfast this morning so I had to put the two blue bowls out as well as the black double dish. Both yellow cats and mama cat came. I wonder what ever happened to those four half grown gray kittens.

Bob called me this morning to tell me my cousin, Sue, had fallen and broken her hip again. It was one she had already had replaced and they just put screws in it this time. She has had two knee replacements Bob told me and at least one hip replacement. While I am in Coffeyville tomorrow I will go to the hospital to see her. I seldom see her because she has a dear friend she went all the way through school with as best friends and that friend does not like me. When Sue's husband died, I took a dish to Sue's and Martha, the friend, was there. I could see she really resented me coming. I consider that strange but that's because I don't have jealous bone in my body, I guess.

I have quite a bit on my plate tomorrow. #1...I will have breakfast with Bob, #2 I will get gas at Woodshed, #3 I will get my hair done, #4 go by the bank to cash a check, #5drop by the library to return a book I got there,#6 go to Shelter Insurance pay my car insurance, #7 go to the hospital to see Sue and #8 stop by the Coffeyville ReAwakening to give them the $100 my classmate sent me and #9 get a battery for my watch and  later #10, go out to Asbury to play Bunco after 2:00P M.

I did a load of laundry this morning, dried it and put it away. Outside of watching the news and having breakfast and feeding the cats, that's about all I have got done today. I need to drop by later this morning and see Nancy. Dale, Nancy's cousin, called me last night and asked me to do that. He and his wife will be out of town today...I don't know how long. They have grandchildren in Wichita so that may be where they went.

I will eat the rest of my cashew chicken that I started on Saturday. I only ate part of it. It is a frozen Walmart meal. I saved it in a plastic box. I will reheat it at noon for my lunch.

More later....

I went over to Nancy's at 10:00AM and found her up but she couldn't remember anything from the past week including my visit and Dale's last night. I think she has had a TIA  but Dale thinks it's just stress over her situation with David. I told Dale what I thought but he just thinks it's that stress. I have no authority to take her to the hospital emergency room so I will just have to leave it in his hands.

Later she began to remember some things and so we went out to the food pantry and both got some veggies and fruit. I will take mine to Sycamore Landing in the morning. They didn't give me anything I can use but those folks at Sycamore Landing can use it so I will give it to them.

Then we went to Pizza Hut and had lunch. After that, I took her back home. So I didn't eat the rest of that cashew chicken after all. She is going to supper with Sara and the rest of their group Sara will be by at 4:00PM to pick her up. I hope she remembers that.

More later....I am going to read.

Three cats came for supper and I got them fed and then brought their bowls back in . Then I read  all evening and went to bed at 9:00PM

Monday and No Plan for the Day

I slept well although my right arm woke me up hurting at 4:00AM or so. I got up and took my thyroid med and wen back to bed and turned over on the other side. Then I was able to get back to sleep. I got up about 5:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day.

I had my oatmeal and coffee and Chai and fed the three cats that showed up for breakfast. It was the same three that showed up for supper last night. I don't know what has happened to the four younger gray cats. I haven't seen them in some time.

I don't have anything planned for today. Mondays are usually pretty dull. I will probably read another of my library books. I might break down and get a battery put in my watch but I doubt it. That would entail another trip to Coffeyville or Independence Walmart stores and I will be in Coffeyville on Wednesday already for my hair appointment.

More later...so

I went over the Nancy's about 10:30AM to take the Consumer's Report Health newsletter to her and return her vase. At first she didn't answer the door but as I was walking back to my car, she came to the door in her nightgown, slippers and robe. She looked disheveled. She had been lying on the couch about half awake and very disoriented. I got her an appointment with the PA there in Caney and called Dale, her cousin. He came right in to see her and tried to convince her that it was just the pain from her arthritics that was disorienting her. She thought she had had a stroke or at least a mini stroke because she felt so confused. I am not sure what her problem was but he seemed to think it was her "Alzheimer's Disease".  She may have a little dementia but she definitely does not have Alzheimer's Disease. My sister had that and died of it and Nancy has none of the classic symptoms. He gave her her morning meds and I made her some toast to eat after that.

After he left I stayed awhile and visited but then came back home to have my lunch. I warmed up the fish from yesterday but was not too impressed with it. I ate a little but threw away what I couldn't eat.

I think I will start another of my library books...More later....

I read until bedtime at 8:30PM. I just recorded "Bull" and will watch it tomorrow.

Sunday and Snow

I slept well until 5:30AM when I decided to get up. I had my oatmeal and coffee and Chai and fed the two cats that came for breakfast. One was mama cat and the other was big Yellow. I once again had to take the food out through the garage.  I sure don't want mama cat running into the apartment. And she won't move away from the door so I don't trust her. Strange...most of the time only the two of them come to eat. Sometimes the smaller yellow cat also comes.

After I had my breakfast and fed them, I realized I should be making my coffeecake so I got it in the oven.  Lelsie says we are having church this morning but told me to drive slowly.

Bob says his car is covered with snow and ice and he will need to scrape it off. I told him I would rather come pick him up. He walks with a cane anymore and is kind of unsteady on his feet. He doesn't need to fall..that's for sure. Finally he called me back and decided he would let me do that. I can pick him up under the canopy that covers their building front and he won't have to worry about falling. He won't be ready until 9:00AM though so I will get there a little later then usual. No big deal though. And I want to scrape off the walks at church myself.

More later...the coffeecake is done. It will need to cool before I ice it though.  It's only 7:45AM so I have plenty of time. I won't be leaving for Coffeyville until about 8:30AM.  It will take me longer to drive over there this morning because of the snow and ice. The highways are probably clear but the side streets probably aren't.  I think I will put kitty litter in my truck...just in case. I gives great traction.

More later...

My trunk was full so I didn't put the kitty litter in it.  Besides the bag had been opened. Steve opened it to use it to soak up some oil on the garage floor when I moved in here. I sure don't need kitty litter all over the inside of my trunk.

I got the coffeecake iced and just need to cover it with some saran before I leave.

It's 8:00AM now and I need to leave about 8:30AM or so.

More even later...

The highways were clear. Lots of traffic must have beat the snow and ice off.

I picked up Bob at 9:00AM ans we went out to church.  The budget business meeting went fine and so did the service. Considering the weather, we had a good attendance.

After church 12 of us went up to Independence to eat at Sam's. They specialize in fish. I brought home enough for another meal. I will warm that up in the skillet at noon tomorrow.

I got the minutes finished with Leslie's help and the congregational newsletter too.  I have five out on the mailbox for the mailman to pick up tomorrow.

I called Nancy this afternoon. She seemed very down. Her son has hired a woman to check in on her and make sure she takes her meds. Her cousin saw to that. I will drop over there and take the Consumer's report Health Newsletter for her to read. I also will return her vase. My flowers finally looked pretty bad and I tossed them out today.

Three cats showed up at supper time and I fed them. There were both yellow cats and mama cat. When they finished, I brought in the bowls. I watched 60 Minutes and then took my bath. I went to bed about 8:30PM.  I was very tired.
