Saturday and Keith and Esther Here

I was awake at 5:00AM this morning. I slept on the daybed trundle so Keith and Esther could have my bed.

I slept fine. The only other person who has used that trundle are 5 year old grandchildren. When I have company, I give them my bed. Then I sleep on the trundle.

Blondie and Grey were at the front door when I opened it. I fixed them some wet and dry food. They ate and left and then Whitey came to finish what they had left.

Keith got up first. Esther was still sleeping until just a moment ago. She is dressing now.

When they are finished dressing, I will make up my face. I dressed earlier.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" . Today is to be 86 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 87 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 84 degrees partly sunny, Wednesday is to be 83 degrees and AM showers, and Thursday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms.

That's the week! Three days of showers!

I got the front yard mowed while they were gone last evening to the music show downtown.

More Later..After Esther got around we decided to go to Bartlesville and look around. I also wanted to get a chemical to take out the stump on the west side of my yard. We stopped at a nursery just west of Tuxedo Boulevard. We left Easter in the Pennington Hills area at Hobby Lobby. She wanted to shop some. Keith had had his new phone taken care of at "In Touch Communications:. I think that was the name of the cell phone provider. Esther had a lot of pictures to transfer to her new phone.

They have left now to go to the school and meet with Keith's classmates. Later they will go to the home of one of his classmates.

Friday and Keith and Esther Coming

 I heard from Esther last night. They were having a two hour layover in Chicago before leaving for Wichita. They will have breakfast with their friends and then rent a car and drive down here to Caney sometime today.

When I opened the front door this morning, I found Grey waiting for his breakfast so I fixed him some and set it out to him. After he ate and left, Whitey came and ate what Grey had left.

I was up at my usual 4:00AM and dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I did get the weather report and here it is: Today is to be 81 degrees and AM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 87 degrees and mostly sunny,   Sunday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 84 degrees and sunny, Tuesday is to be 83 degrees 83 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and AM showers. That's the week! The kids will leave on Saturday after Keith's class reunion is over. I hope he gets to see a lot of his classmates again this year.. It's his 50th class reunion.

I went to Eggbert's here in Caney and had an omelet for my lunch.

I heard from Esther again that they plan to be here late afternoon or early evening.  I am looking forward to their visit. I got a package in the mail and it is flat so I am not sure what it is. It may be the package they were looking for this week or it may be something for me. I will know for sure which it is when they get here.

Thursday and One Day of Storms

I was up at 4:00AM this morning and dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

When I opened the front door, Blondie was out there waiting for his breakfast so I fixed it. I am nearly out of wet cat food so will need to go to Dollar General and buy more this morning after they open at 8:00AM. It's 5:55AM now so I have awhile to wait.

Whitey came and finished off some of Blondie's wet food. Then later Grey came and I gave him the other half of Blondie's wet food.  It's 6:25AM now. I have an hour and a half to wait for Dollar General to open.

But I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and here it is for the week. Today is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy,  tomorrow is t be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 86 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is to be 81 degrees and sunny, and Tuesday is to be 86 degrees and mostly sunny. That's the week! Looks like Friday is the only day for thunderstorms. Maybe I can mow one day this coming week.

I went out front after the cats left and cleaned out a lot of leaves from under the hedge. It's not perfect but it's a lot better. Then I swept off the sidewalk and put the leaf bag in the garage. If I can mow the back yard this week before Keith and Esther come that will be something else anyhow. They are to be here tomorrow. I cleaned the house last week and will do some more cleaning before they get here tomorrow. I don't know when to expect them. They are having breakfast with a couple of couples Keith has kept in touch with for years. Then they will leave...perhaps by afternoon. I guess I will know when I see them!

More Even Later... 

I decided after I cleaned up the leaves under the hedge that I would mow the back yard. I had gone down to Copan for lunch..by myself...Sally didn't get back to me after I left her a message about what I wanted to do about lunch. That worked out fine. It's 78 degrees now and I am plenty hot! I will drink some water and rest..I am plenty sweaty.

It's 1:48PM now. I will get back to my book. I took the first one down to the book drop at the library.

I read the second book today. I will take it to the book drop tomorrow.

I had an e-mail from Esther. They have a two hour layover in Chicago and then they leave for Wichita. From there after a day with friends, and breakfast with them, they will come to visit the rest of us for five days, from May 24th until May 29th.

I plan to go to bed around 9:00PM. I am still plenty tired!

I am looking forward to seeing Keith and Esther.

 

Wednesday and Rain

 I was up early again... about 5:00AM. I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door, Blondie was there waiting for his breakfast. I fixed his breakfast and set it out there. He ate and left.  Then Whitey came and I fixed her some too.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's". And here it is..Today is to be 75 degrees and light rain. Tomorrow is to be 81 degrees and isolated thunderstorms. Friday is to be 83 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 85 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 85 degrees and  mostly sunny, and Monday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week.

I will be going over to Coffeyville for my hair appointment and Game Day at the senior center in the afternoon from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. I hope it doesn't hail while I am out there.

Tuesday and Thunderstorms

I was up at shortly after 4:00AM this morning made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door, I found Blondie waiting for his breakfast so I fixed it for him and took it out to him. He ate what he wanted and left. No other cats are out there yet.

But I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and here it is...

Today is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be  76 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 79 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 84 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 86 degrees and AM thunderstorms and Monday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week. Mostly thunderstorms! Not much chance to mow until next Monday.

Whitey came for her/his breakfast next. She/he ate all he wanted and I brought the cat dish back in the kitchen.

I trimmed my hedge again this morning. I found a shingle nail on Stephen's driveway. I picked it up and set it on the window ledge. That's two for me and one for him.  I hope that's all.  I sure don't want it in my tire.

Keith and Esther will be here from Germany on the 24th of May and will leave on the 29th to go back to Germany. They will be here for Keith's 50th class reunion. I guess he graduated in 1974.

I will be leaving for Church family camp (reunion is what we call it) on the 1st of June and be gone a week . The camp is 10 miles south of Joplin. Karan will drive again this year. I will leave my car in her garage in Coffeyville.

I called Sally to see if she wanted to go to Independence to the Dairy Queen for lunch. She wanted to go but she wanted to leave at noon to go there. I think she has a church meeting on Tuesday mornings and would rather I picked her up at noon instead of 11:00AM. or 11:30AM. That was fine with me. I will swing by her place at noon and pick her up. She is good company for lunch.

More Even Later.. I thought about mowing the back yard this morning but ended up trimming the hedge instead. There's quite a breeze out there and I have terrible allergies this time of year.

Monday and Thunderstorms all Week

 I was up at 4:45AM this morning and to the sound of thunder. Finally, I got up and dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. When I opened the front door I found Grey waiting for his breakfast. I took it out to him...both wet and dry cat food. He is eating now. I went in the garage and got some more dry cat food from the bag. Now I am prepared for the others.,,,if and when they come.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" and here is the week's forecast.

Today is to be 87 degrees and AM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms and wind. Wednesday is to be 72 degrees and AM thunderstorms and wind, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Saturday is to be 86 degrees and AM thunderstorms,  and Sunday is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. That's the week! A week of rain and thunderstorms! There will be no mowing this next week!

Grey finished his breakfast and then Blondie came to eat too. After he finished, Whitey came to eat next. Now all three cats are fed. I will go to the Dollar General store when  they open at 8:00AM and get a few things I will need next week.. definitely wet cat food, Q tips and water.

More Even Later... I read most of the afternoon and then decided to mow the front yard. It was looking pretty ratty, I fed Whitey and she left when I put the garage door up.

I got the front yard mowed and it looks a lot better. I emptied the mower, put the clippings in a plastic bag and put it away in the garage. Then I put the garage door down. Now I think I will take my bath.  I am pretty sweaty. The front yard looks quite a bit better.

Sunday and Church

 I was up at 4:30AM, dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

After checking out the weather, I opened the front door and found Grey waiting for his breakfast. I fixed it with both dry cat food and wet cat food and he ate what he wanted of it and  left the rest for Whitey. She/he came over to the bowl with what was left in it an ate most of it.

I caught the weather forecast too. Here it is: Today is to be 88 degrees and sunny, tomorrow is to be 89 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 85 degrees and scattered thunderstorms,  Wednesday is t be 78 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 91 degrees and isolated thunderstorms. That's the week! Looks like three days of rain or thunderstorms.

I started the coffeecake and got it in the oven at 350 degrees and for 45 minutes. When it was finished I put the glaze on it and left for church at 8:00AM.. I had some Chai Latte and coffeecake there.

Leslie and John came a little later and Karan too. All in all we ended up with 13 in the congregation. Melissa spoke and did a nice job. Leslie used the computer and projector and did the church school. She also did a nice job.

Phyllis and I went to Eggbert's for lunch. They were very busy and noisy and I had my usual parfait and iced tea and Phyllis had a sandwich. They seated us at the north side and it was very loud in there. It took a long time for us to be served.

When I got home. I went back to my book. I was not impressed. I finished the first one and took it to the book drop at the library earlier this morning before I left for church. 

This evening I will try once again to use Zoom for the evening service for the Mission Center. Leslie came here yesterday and walked me through the steps again. I hope I can remember them. I did make notes. We will see.
