Saturday and Dusting

I slept pretty well last night. The thunderstorm woke me up in the middle of the night and I went to the bathroom and took my meds and then went back to bed and back to sleep a couple of times. 

I will check on the cats in a little while and also turn on the TV for "the weather on the 8's".

I checked on the cats and they were not out there yet. I did turn on the TV but came back in the den to eat my breakfast.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" too and brought my breakfast in the den to eat.

Today will be 86 degrees and AM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 85 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Monday is to be 72 degrees and AM showers, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and AM showers, Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 82 degrees and scattered thunderstorms,  Friday is to be 78 degrees and AM showers. I see lots of much needed rain this next week. Wednesday is the only day with no rain in the forecast.That will be good for the Caney River but not so good for mowing.

Only Blondie came for his breakfast. He ate a bit and left. I brought the cat food in and covered it in the garage. I didn't see anything of Scruff!.

I checked my bank account and it still does not balance. 

I am doing a load of laundry this morning and also washing my jacket.

I took my one mile walk this morning and as usual, picked up a full grocery bag of trash off the street. I can't get over the way people just toss their trash on the street. There are trash containers in front of every house. Why they don't just lift a lid near the curb and toss their trash in one of them is beyond me. It's a mindset! They simply don't care.

My laundry is rinsing now. When it is finished spinning the water out of it, I will put them in the dryer.

More Later..

The clothes dried and I folded them and put them away. Then I went up to Joyce's and had her lunch and a coke. It cost me $7.65. Not bad for a nice lunch.

Then I stopped at the library and checked out three more books. I have been reading all afternoon and it's 3:38PM now.  I am tired reading and will start my dusting.

More Later...

I dusted the apartment with lemon oil treatment. It really feeds the wood.

Then I got out my older vacuum and vacuumed the chairs for dust.

Now I am watching TV for the news.

After I finished the news, I went out and felt of the grass in the front yard. It was dry enough to mow. At least I got the front yard mowed. That's something anyhow. It's supposed to rain the rest of the week but if the back yard gets dry enough in between rains, I will mow it next. Wednesday is the only day or night we are not forecast for rain.

It's 645PM now and I will take my bath at 7:00PM and put my pajamas and robe on and read some more until 9:00PM...my regular bedtime.

It's 8:33PM and I have had my bath and read awhile. I may go to bed early since I have been losing some sleep off and on this week. I've had a big day today what with the laundry, my mile walk picking up trash and mowing the front yard. On top of everything else, I now hear thunder. Thank goodness I got the front yard mowed. By the time I take my Melatonin and allergy pill, it will be 9:00PM..my usual bedtime.

 

Friday and No Dusting

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night and took my two meds and went right back to bed and to sleep. I was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

Today, I will dust the apartment and spruce it up any other way it needs. But first I will eat my breakfast and then a little later check on the cats and even later go out to Dollar General and get some things I need like breakfast bars and coffee.

I didn't take my grocery list yesterday when I went there for the birthday card for Ashley. 

Now I will have my Chai Latte and then go check on the cats. 

Blondie was out there so I fed him and got back in the house just in time to catch the weather report. 

Today is to be 85 degrees and thunderstorms, tomorrow, Saturday,  is to be 85 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms,  Monday is to be 74 degrees and showers, Tuesday is to be 76 degrees and AM showers, Wednesday is to be 79 degrees and scattered thunderstorms and Thursday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy. It looks like a week of much needed rain except for Thursday.

Now I will go see if I can catch the news....

More Later... I watched the news for awhile until I got tired of Gail King. I can only take her in small doses.

I went out to Dollar General and bought the few things I needed. 

Then after I put those away, I fixed myself another cup of coffee now that I have Hazelnut again. 

More Later.. I will get back to my book and eventually.. my dusting.. 

I never did get the dusting done today. I will do it tomorrow.  I have nothing going on tomorrow. I read all afternoon and did finish all three books I had checked out at the Caney library. I took them back to the library and dropped them into the book drop there. 

I will get some more tomorrow. 

I would mow again tomorrow but rain is forecast the rest of the week so I won't try that.

It's 8:26PM and I just took my bath and watched a television program. In about 30 Minutes, I will go to bed.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept very well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. In a little bit I will make my breakfast and eat it here in the den. I will also check the weather forecast and the cats...my usual routine in the morning.

I have moved between heating the apartment and cooling it depending on how hot or cool it is in here. The weather can't seem to make up it's mind.

Now I will go check out the weather. 

It took awhile but finally the weather came on. Today is to be 89 degrees and AM showers, Friday is to be 86 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun, Saturday is to be 86 degrees and mostly cloudy, Sunday is to be 86 degrees and Scattered thunderstorms, Monday is to be 77 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and mostly cloudy, and Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy. Well it appears some of the rain has been taken out of the forecast. Wouldn't you know when we need it so badly!

I got the apartment cleaned...all except dusting and I will do that later. I have plenty of time.

It rained a little this morning. I have been reading one of my latest books from the library here. But I am tired reading now.

I am not sure what I will do for lunch. It may be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I ate all my soup and bought some at Copan Restaurant yesterday noon. I may go to Eggbert's.  I still have some of the cash card Keith gave me.

More Later...

I ended up going out to Eggbert's and using some of the last cash on the cash card Keith gave me at Thanksgiving. I had their chicken salad with the muffin and fruit. That's always good! I have a little over $5.70 left on the card now. It has been wonderful having it. I am so glad Kim honored it after all. I always give her a tip..usually $3.00 per time I use it.

After I had my lunch, i came back home and read all afternoon.

It's 6:19PM now and in about thirty minutes I will take my bath and read some more.

I sent my granddaughter, Ashley, a birthday card this week. I've lost track of how old she is now. Scott would know.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and am listening to a Kenny Rogers disk now on Bob's Bose unit. I will read awhile before going to bed at 9:00PM.

It's 9:05PM now and I am going on to bed.

Wednesday and a Hair Appointment

I slept restlessly last night and after tossing and turning a couple of hours, just got up. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

Soon I will fix my breakfast and check on the weather and the cats.

I only saw Scruff yesterday. I never did see Blondie.

I got my social security deposit this morning. I can use it. 

Now I will fix my breakfast. So More Later... 

I've had my breakfast and still I haven't seen a thing of the cats. did catch "the weather on the 8's"

Today it is to be 86 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 80 degrees AM showers, Friday is to be 86 degrees and Isolated thunderstorms,  Saturday is to be 82 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Monday is to be 77 degrees AM showers, and Tuesday is to be 77 degrees and AM clouds and PM sun.

That's the week! Lots of rain and mowing in between times.. I guess. 

And no cats yet!

Just Blondie came for his breakfast and ate very little and left. I didn't see anything of Scruff.  I brought the cat food back in the garage and covered it and then watched CBS news for awhile. It's 7:50AM now and no rain yet. I need to go out to Walmart in Coffeyville and see if I can buy another umbrella. I think I left mine in Leslie's car during Conference. I sure don't want to get my hair done and then get it wet in rain.

More Later... I got my hair done and then went out to Walmart to get another umbrella. I left that one in my car. Then I bought gas at Woodshed. Then I came back home. I think I will go to Copan Truck Stop for my lunch. It has been awhile since I have been there.

I did have beef and veggie soup there and as usual, it was very good. 

Then I went to the Caney library and checked out some books..in fact, three of them. I have been reading ever since. It's 3:21PM now.

Tuesday and Probable Rain

I slept fairly well last night after taking two Melatonin tablets and an allergy pill. I was up shortly before 5:00AM made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day.

It's supposed to rain today and the rest of the week. I fixed my breakfast right away and am drinking my coffee now. My oatmeal is cooling a bit so I can eat it next. I have had my breakfast bar.

I don't have a lot to do today since it's Tuesday. I did my laundry yesterday.

In a bit I will check on the cats and see if the weather forecast has  changed any.. 

My son, Keith, tried to call me just now but the "hang up" button was the only one on my phone. I am rebooting it now to see if I can answer him this time. No.. that didn't seem to help a bit. The phone is crazy this morning. I am rebooting it again. And that still didn't help. Maybe he will send me an e-mail.

If it's not going to rain after all, I can take my walk.

I will go check on the weather and the cats now.  Darn phone!! 

Well, fooey! The rain is taken out of today's forecast and Jeromy could have done my mowing after all.  Now Wednesday is to be 83 degrees and PM Thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 78 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Friday is to be 84 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 77 degrees and showers, and Monday is to be 73 degrees and mostly cloudy. Wouldn't you know!

Scruff came for her breakfast but I didn't see anything of Blondie.

I took my walk and picked up anther big sack of trash along the way. Then I started reading my last book. I read until 9:52AM and then was tired of reading. I came back to the blog.

Keith texted me and so did Esther. I texted them back. I don't know whether my phone is going to have the "answer" icon on it or just the "hang up" icon. That's all it had this morning.

I an tired of reading so I will pay solitaire again for awhile. It's 10:05AM now and I will just hang out here until lunchtime. I have a bowl of soup in the frig and I will have that for my lunch.

I had the rest of the soup for lunch and then read my second book and took it to the drop box at the rear of the Caney Library. I will drop into the Coffeyville library tomorrow and check out two more books.

I went out back and trimmed the back yard this afternoon.

Then I mowed the front yard again. I had mowed it Sunday afternoon and it already needed it again. I didn't do the back until Monday and the west side until this morning. The back needed some more mowing too. I did it first. So the west side should be fine. 

I took my bath early. I was pretty tired.

We are under severe thunderstorm warnings until 11:00PM this evening.  The police just announced it.

More Even Later. ...

The storm quieted down by 8:15PM. There was quite a bit of wind and rain but the dark clouds lightened up and it finally calmed down here.

I'm pretty tired now.  I may just go on to bed. It's almost 8:30PM

Monday and A Visit With Nancy

I slept fairly well last night but was up before 5:00AM. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am doing a load of laundry now...mostly towels and pajamas and underwear. I am having my breakfast here in the den. I need a few things from the market this morning before I go to Bartlesville to see Nancy.  It's 5:21AM now.

I will wait until about 10:00AM to start my trip. I have  a bill to mail when I am on my way.  And I want to get the laundry in the dryer and dry and put it away when it's dry first.

I have the laundry in the dryer now and I checked on the cats and they were not out there. But I did get the forecast.

Today is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be  84 degrees and isolated thunderstorms. Wednesday is to be 81 degrees  and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 85 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 83 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Sunday is to be 76 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. 

Good weather for the river but not so much for mowing. Today will be the last day for me to finish the mowing on the west side before the week of rain.

I got the west side finished mowing. I had started it yesterday after I got back home from lunch with Phyllis. I just couldn't finish it. It was half done. We are forecast for rain tomorrow so I wanted to get it done. We have rain forecast for the rest of the week starting tomorrow. It looks fine now and it's just 7:11AM. I was even able to lift the bag into the trash container. I'd better put the kitchen trash in there too. It's nearly full too.

More Later..I will read until time to start for Bartlesville...Woops! The dryer just went off. First things first! I folded out the clothes and put them away.

Then I went down to Bartlesville to visit with Nancy. I went to Nancy's apartment and helped her get dressed and then took her to the Boulevard Cafe for lunch.

We met with Sally and visited with her too. She really enjoyed the visit with Sally too. 

Then I took her on a short ride and later took her back to Assisted Living.

I will go back again to visit her next Monday. Maybe we will meet with Sally again too.

When I got home I found that Leslie had come while I was gone and attempted to fix my bamboo blind in the den. It's not perfect yet but I will deal with it. She says she needs John to come help her get it  fixed. They need to take the blind down to really get it fixed right I guess.

It's 6:36PM and I am thinking of taking my bath and getting back to my book until bedtime at 9:00PM.

 

Sunday and Church

 I slept fairly well last night. I was up at 6:00AM, made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day, I checked on the cats but they were not out there yet. I did catch the weather forecast though.

Today is to be 85 degrees and partly cloudy,  tomorrow is to be 88 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 85 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Friday is to be 83 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 82 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. It looks like 5 days of rain. 

That will be good for the river that feeds our water here in Caney...but not so good for the mowing. If it doesn't rain this afternoon after church, I had better mow the front yard..And maybe tomorrow I can get the west side. I don't think Jeromy will be able to mow on Tuesday because it is forecast for isolated  thunderstorms. and rain is forecast for the rest of the week.

More Later...I had better get that coffeecake made for the breakfast at church. 

The coffee cake is made now and cooling in the kitchen on a rack. When it is cool I will put the glaze on it. I will leave for church at 10:00AM to go to the breakfast. It's only 7:54AM now. I will go watch the news or read until time to go.

I took the coffeecake to church and there was only one other thing for breakfast. John and Leslie brought an Amish coffeecake too. There were 8 of us there. LeeAnn came late as usual. It was almost 11:30AM before she showed up. That made 9 in attendance. The service was nearly over. 

Next week is Mother's Day. Leslie doesn't know who to get to give the sermon and the service, 

And Phyllis will not be there. Her family is probably coming for Mother's Day. We ate at Eggbert's in Coffeyville again after church. 

I sent out six letters to those not at church. I took them to the post office and dropped them in the mail drop.

Then I mowed the front and part of the west side this afternoon. I knew we were forecast for rain for four days this week and Jeromy could not mow again this week, At least I got the back done yesterday and the front and part of the west side this afternoon. It will have to do.

It's 84 degrees now and I will read until bath time at 7:00PM and after the bath, I will read until bedtime. I will be rested by then.

If, by some chance, the rain doesn't happen, Jeromy can finish the west side. That would be a blessing! He intends to come on Tuesday again. That's when the isolated thunderstorms are suppose to start. They are forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We will see if that develops.

I will go read for an hour and rest and then take my bath at 7:00PM

I was going to watch the Mission Center service this evening but Zoom is gone on both my computers. I have no idea how that happened.

I will just go read I guess. How disgusting!
