Saturday and Possible Rain.

 I slept very well and was up at my usual 5:00AM and made my bed, dressed and go myself ready for the day.

Then I went to turn on the weather and check on Blondie. I was just in time to catch "the weather on the 8's" and, sure enough, Blondie was out there too waiting for his breakfast. So I caught a photo of the weather forecast and then took his dry food out to him and he ate and left.

Today is to be 93 degrees and thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be  92 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Monday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 86 degrees and AM showers, Wednesday is to be 92 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 92 degrees and partly cloudy and Friday is to be 95 degrees and mostly sunny.

That's the week! It does look like some rain this week.

I hope I can get my walk this morning. I will take an umbrella if I do.

I am having my coffee and a breakfast bar here in the den. 

I did take my walk and took an umbrella with me. Luckily, I did not need it but it definitely is going to rain. It's has begun a low rumble of thunder. I probably got home just in time.  I got almost a half bag of trash too. I put that in my dumpster.

The thunder is getting louder now.

Sure enough! It's starting to rain now. I just looked outside.

It's pouring down rain now. We needed it badly!

Then after the rain finally stopped I looked out at my trees. They had been stripped of all their branches. I sent John and photo and asked him if he could come cut up the branches and put them in his pickup. He looked at the photo  and said there was way too much for one pickup. So then I sent the photo I had taken to Stephen and he said he would have the tree removed. Then I discovered the tree in the back on the west side of my apartment was also broken down and I sent that photo to Stephen too. It was all a terrible mess. He said he would have all three of our trees taken down and replace them with sturdier trees.

After I cleaned up what I could, I called Sally to see if she would like to go down to Copan Restaurant for lunch. She wanted to go so I picked her up and we went there for our lunch.  Then we went to a thrift store in Bartlesville and bought two pairs of size 20 pants petite for Nancy. I will check if they will fit her on Thursday next week. If not, I will donate them to the thrift store and buy two smaller sizes instead. They were only $1.00 apiece. So I can't lose much. She may wear 18's now. Those I bought her earlier were size 15 XX L petite and she can't get into any of them any more.

I read most of the afternoon and then took my bath at 7:00PM. I plan to read until 9:00PM and then go on to bed.

Friday and Nothing Much Going On

 I slept well last night again. The Melatonin gummies really work well. 

Jody called last evening to get Karan's telephone number. She wanted to check on her. I checked on it and called Jody back with it.

I dressed this morning and got myself ready for the day. I also found Blondie waiting for his breakfast so I took it out to him. I was out of moist cat food but he ate plenty of the dry cat food and seemed satisfied.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and the forecast calls for some rain this week..thank goodness and a little cooler weather. Nothing in the 100's in the forecast this week.!

Today is to be 97 degrees and  partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 95 degrees and AM showers, Monday is to be 87 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 89 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy and Thursday is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy. So it looks like a possibility of at least two days of rain...Saturday and Tuesday. Any rain at all is appreciated.

More Later...I will take my walk while it's fairly cool.. at 78 degrees. 

So More Later...It's 7:04AM now and I have taken my walk. I got very little trash this morning. Maybe I am making headway on keeping the streets I walk clean.  I can hope. I got a beer can (half full) and a pop cup with lid and some small odds and ends. That's about all.

More Even Later....

I read all morning and then went to Independence for my $7.00 special lunch at Dairy Queen. As usual, it was very good. Then I read all afternoon and finished my second book.

Sally called me late afternoon and asked me to take her to Bartlesville to pick up her latest car...a Toyota Corolla. I did that and then  we came back home to bring my car back home. She had two free tickets to Oppenheimer and I wanted to see that movie so she picked me up at 5:00PM and we went back to Bartlesville to that movie.  We got home after the movie. I thought it was very good.

I got to to bed about 11:00PM.

 

Thursday and a Trip to see Nancy.

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night to take my two meds. I was up at my usual 5:00AM and dressed and made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I am out of breakfast bars and almost out of oatmeal. I will have to get some today. I am having my coffee here in the den now. I will take my walk a little later. I probably won't leave for Bartlesville until 10:00AM of so...maybe a little earlier. 

I ended up eating the last package of oatmeal. I will need to get some more today and also breakfast bars.

I checked to see if Blondie was out there but it's too early right now. I will check later again.

I did catch "the weather on the 8's". It's going to be another very hot week. Today is to be 104 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 101 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 99 degrees and  mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 92 degrees partly cloudy, Monday is to be 88 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 89 degrees and partly cloudy and Wednesday is to be 94 degrees and partly cloudy.  Hot..but not as bad as this week.

Blondie was there this time and I fed him both some wet cat food and some dry cat food and he ate most of both and then left.

I took my walk at 6:15AM and got back home at 6:59AM.  I got some trash but not a not. I put it in my trash receptacle. 

I read until I finished my second library book and I will put it in the book drop here before I leave for Bartlesville.

More Later..maybe I will have more news when I return from Bartlesville after my visit with Nancy.  I will have my car washed while I am down there.

It's 9:12AM now and I am getting ready to drive to Bartlesville to wash my car and then visit Nancy.

I washed my car as soon ans I got to Bartlesville. Then I went to Nancy's and as usual she was still in bed. It was about 10:30AM by then. I hadn't been there more then 15 minutes and one of Nancy's neighbors came in. I tried to get her up and dressed because the neighbor's son was coming to see Nancy as well as his mother. I tried to get her out of bed and started dressing. I checked on her ten minutes later and she was still  on the commode. Again I tried to tell her the son, Jack, was going to be there any moment. But nothing rushed her. I begged off of staying to visit by telling her I would be back next week.  She had other visitors to prepare for.  I don't know how that turned out. I left. I knew it would be too confusing for everyone if I was still there. No one would get a good visit either.

Maybe I can go back down on Tuesday when no one else will be vying for her attention.

It's 1:24 PM. I tried to call Sally to see if she wanted to go to Copan Restaurant for lunch. She wasn't home so I went alone and had their small chef salad. That was a disaster! There were two small children screaming at the top of their lungs. I paid my bill and left...disgusted! I should have either gone to the local Eggbert's or to Independence to the Dairy Queen for their $6.00 "special". But I didn't. Live and Learn!

More Even Later... 

I read for a couple of hours and then watched the CBS evening news until time for my bath at 7:00PM. I checked the air conditioner and  it is pretty noisy and is sure blowing hot air outside. The apartment is 79 degrees in here now and the last time this happened and it was 80 degrees in here, I turned on the ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom and that helped a lot. Within 45 minutes it had come down to 73 degrees. So I turned on the ceiling fans again this evening. It's 101 degrees out there so it may be hard to get it down much again but I am trying and we will see what good it does.

More Later...I am going to go read again. 

My thermostat is down to 77 degrees now... thanks to the ceiling fans. ..maybe later it will get down to 72 degrees...where I have it set ...as it cools off outside. It's two degrees lower now then it was originally.

Stephen is here now mowing his lawn. He looked in on me and checked the air conditioner out there. I told him I thought the ceiling fans would help like they did last time. It's 8:29 PM now and I may just go on to bed.

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept pretty well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. As usual, I have made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast bar here in the den now. It's just now 5:56AM. I'll go check on "the weather on the 8's" and Blondie the cat.

Blondie came for his breakfast and wasn't so happy with his wet food. I took some of his dry food out to him too and he ate some of each. He has finished now.

I saw "the weather on the 8's" and it's not that good. Today is to be 106 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 103 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 101 degrees and partly cloudy, and Saturday is to be  100 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday is to be 92 degrees  and AM thunderstorms, Monday is to be 86 degrees and partly cloudy and Tuesday is to be 88 degrees and AM showers. So we are going to get rain a couple of days next week. I hope Caney gets it! Their river is way down. They have rianed the swimming pool here.

I will go over to Coffeyville this morning for my hair appointment at 9:00AM and Bunco at the senior center from 1:00PM until 3:30PM.  In between 9:00AM and 1:00PM I will read my book at the senior center. 

I had only a breakfast bar and my coffee and Chai Latte for breakfast today.  

It's 6:43AM now and I will take my walk. And I will take the one library book I have read back to the library drop box. 

More Even Later... 

I got back from my walk at 7:21AM with  a  half  a bag of trash. I also returned one of the library books that I read yesterday. 

I will leave here at 8:15AM for Coffeyville and the beauty shop. My appointment is at 9:00AM. Then I will read until noon or so either at the library or at the senior center.

I read until until time for Bunco at the senior center and then read some more after I got home until time for my bath at 6:30PM. I will read until time to go to bed at 9:00PM.

Tuesday and Cleaning

I slept well last night. It helps that I take two Melitonin tablets and last night I went to bed around 8:00PM. I was just very tired.  I don't know why...I hadn't done a lot but read.  I did go over to Coffeyville and picked up my new contacts and paid for them. Today I want to mop the bare floors and vacuum the carpets. Tomorrow is Bunco at the senior center, Now I  will go check "the weather on the 8's" and see if Blondie is out there for his breakfast. It's only 5:17AM so probably not. I have had my breakfast bar and am drinking my coffee now.

I finally caught :the weather on the 8's" and it's not good!

Today will be 103 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 106 degrees and  mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 102 degrees and  mostly sunny, Friday is to be 101 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 99 degrees and mostly sunny, and Sunday is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy and Monday is to be 88 degrees and AM showers. The only good thing about the weather the next week is the AM showers on Monday. The weather report said this year is the hottest year ever worldwide.

I still haven't seen anything of Blondie! And it's 78 degrees this morning at 5:58AM.

It's 6:16AM now and Blondie finally came for his breakfast and I took the wet food out to him. He is eating now.

It's 6:38AM and I am going to take my walk now while it's still relatively cool. It's 78 degrees. Blondie was just leaving my sidewalk when I left. He went out to the street. I hoped he would get out of the street so someone wouldn't hit him.

I took my walk and had a huge bag of trash. In fact I put some of it in a trash receptacle on fourth street because my sack was so full.

I had an interesting thing happen when I was within a block of my apartment. A man pulled over in a pickup truck and thanked me for what I had been doing. I was so impressed. 

I noticed Blondie was gone when I got back home.

Now I will start my mopping and my vacuuming. It's 7:14AM.

I got my housework done this morning and talked to Karan. She went to the hospital at 3:00AM this morning with her A Fib. In the middle of the night after they got her converted, her heart stopped beating altogether and several nurses came in and worked to get her heart beating again.

She seemed to be better at 10:30AM when I went to take her some books to read from Marilyn and visit with her awhile. Then she learned that her heart doctor, Dr. Tinker, who was supposed to come check her out yesterday or today so he could decided whether to let her go home... is on vacation. His office evidently did not let the hospital know. They were expecting him to come check her out yesterday or today.

It's 6:77PM now and at 8:00PM, I will have my bath, and then at 9:00PM, I plan to go to bed.

The thermostat is set on 71 degrees and the thermostat says it's 80 degrees in here. It just doesn't seem able to keep up with these temperatures. It's old and the temperatures are very hot. The last time this happened, Stephen, my landlord,  came and ran water over the unit for awhile until it started to be able to cool the apartment.

It's 7:12PM now and I have just had my bath and put my pajamas on and will read until 9:00PM and then go on to bed.

Monday and Laundry

 I slept well last night again and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. The laundry is done washing and I need to put it in the dryer. 

I had a light breakfast,,,a coffee cake warmed in the microwave and some coffee and a breakfast bar. I am not in the mod for oatmeal this morning. 

Blondie did come for breakfast but didn't eat much. Maybe he ate somewhere else first.

Today is to be 104 degrees and fairly  cloudy, tomorrow is to be 108 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 105 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 102 degrees and  partly cloudy, Friday is to be 103 degrees and partly cloudy and Saturday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 90 degrees and isolated thunderstorms. That's the week! Only one chance of rain and that's Sunday and much hot, hot weather.

I took my walk and picked up a part of a bag of trash..not bad. I got back at 7:09AM. I went earlier then usual because it's supposed to be  a very hot day. 104 today.

Blondie came back for more food. He ate a little more and then I covered it and put it in the frig.

I had a phone call from Dr. Dobbins office and they had my new contacts. I went over to Coffeyville to pick them up. I am to change my contact every first of the month. 

I texted Leslie to see if Karan is converted with her A Fib and she has but she is going to be kept overnight just to be sure. She woke up at 3:00AM this morning with her heart out of rhythm.

Dr. Dobbins had said the new contacts would be $85.00 but her office manager only charged me $80.  I had asked Dr. Dobbins if it would be $83.00 again and she said it would be $85.00. Maybe my supplement is going to pay part of it. Never argue with a discount.

I took my bath at 7:30PM or so and put my pajamas on and will read again until 9:00PM or so. 

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

 I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for church. Then I went in the kitchen and put together my coffee cake and put it in the oven. It is baking now.

I lso checked for Blondie and he was out there waiting for me to bring out his wet food. He ate most of it and I put what was left back in the carton and covered it and put it in a plastic bag and put it in the frig. 

I also checked out the weather, 

Today is to be 99 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 101 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 103 degrees and  partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 105 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 104 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 99 degrees and PM thunderstorms  and Saturday is to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week...one chance of rain..on Friday! Another very hot week!

I just got back home from my walk. I got a little trash and put it in my trash receptacle when I got back home.

I left for the church at 9:15AM and got there in plenty of time for the breakfast. In fact I did some cleaning there at the church. There were some bugs right at the door. Leslie came soon after I started and got the vacuum and cleaned some more up. She and John moved the small pew at the front door into the sanctuary at the back and brought two chairs out that were not worn. That looked better.

I got four letters mailed off...those who were not there this morning.

Phyllis and I went to the Coffeyville Eggbert's to have lunch. The other ones there went with John and Leslie and Melissa and Kelly ....probably to Independence.

It's 2:34PM now.  I will get back to this later....
