Saturday and No Particular Plan

I slept well most of the night but woke up at 3:30AM and couldn't really get much rest after that. I took a couple of Melatonin tablets but that didn't help this time. Finally I got up at 4:45AM and made my bed and got dressed for the day. I haven't fixed my breakfast yet. But that's the next thing on my list of "to do" things. I had nothing at supper time but I had had a good breakfast yesterday morning and a good lunch at noon. I had gone to the deli at the market and bought chicken, fried okra and green beans with a biscuit and I saved one piece of the chicken for today's lunch and the biscuit that came with the meal. I ate all the green beans and okra.

Anyhow, fixing my breakfast is next on my list.

I've had my breakfast and am just drinking my coffee now, I will go in the living room and turn on the TV and wait for  "the weather on the 8's"  and see if the forecast has changed. I will also check on the cats. It's almost 6:00AM now.

Both cats were out there waiting so I took out their food and they ate their fill and are gone now. I brought the food into the garage and covered it.

Then the weather came on next. Today is supposed to be 101 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be a real scorcher...105 degrees and mostly sunny, Monday is  to be 104 degrees and mostly sunny.  Tuesday 96 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 85 degrees and cloudy, Thursday 91 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday' forecast is to be 94 degrees and partly cloudy. 

I see they took the showers out of  Wednesday's forecast but they left them in Tuesday's forecast. I remain skeptical. The weather is not an exact science.

I trimmed the hedge while it was still 70 degrees. Krystal is supposed to mow tomorrow. evening at 7:00PM after it cools down a bit. 

Now I am going to water the back flowerbeds. It's 8:00AM

The water is done for the morning. I will have to do it again this evening.

Now I will go read again. 

I have been reading this morning but I stopped long enough to have my lunch,,,the leftover chicken and biscuit.

So more even later.... Tomorrow we are forecast for a 105 temperature. Wow!

I read all afternoon and finished another book.It's 3:11PM now.

I read until I finished my latest book and the watched a documentary on Amazon Prime. Then I watched the NBC news.

Now I am going to Dollar General to get some toothpaste. When I get back home, I will take my bath and get ready for bed at 9:00PM.

Friday and the Historical Museum

Another night of poor sleep. For some reason I simply could not stay asleep last night. It's 3:00AM and I have been awake for an hour. I may take some Melatonin and see if that helps. I got up once earlier and took my two meds. After that I could never get back to sleep.

I will try the Melatonin and go back to bed. I am supposed to meet Gina at the historical museum later today. After I had to get my new debit card, they could no longer withdraw my donation. I tried to arrange it online with my new debit card but the online arrangement would not accept it for some reason. Strange...everything else does.

My sleeplessness may have something to do with how tired I was last night. I went to bed at 8:00PM. It's a mystery.

Well the Melatonin worked! I took two small tablets and got right back to sleep and slept until almost 6:00AM. I should have tried it earlier. I just haven't needed it since I have had the ceiling fan.

Once again, I am having my breakfast here in the den. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day earlier. 

More Later...I will go turn on the TV and the news and check on the cats.

Both cats were out there for their breakfast and I fed them. When they were finished, I brought the cat food into the garage and covered it.

I went out back to water the flowerbed and the hanging basket and when I came back in "the weather on the 8's" was coming on and I took a photo of it.

Today is to be 98 degrees and mostly sunny,tomorrow is to be 100 degrees and sunny, Sunday 104 degrees and mostly sunny,Monday 104 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday 97 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Wednesday 86 degrees and isolated thunderstorms,and Thursday 92 degrees and Mostly sunny. I am still skeptical about the rain.

I went to the historical museum and arranged to have my $5.00 a month taken out of my account by my new debit card. That's one less thing to be concerned about.

It's a little after 3:00PM and I have been reading this afternoon. The battery is low on the Kindle though so I have it charging again.

It's after 4:00PM now and I had been reading until the Kindle required charging again. It is still charging.

It's 6:25PM and I am about to water everything again and then take my bath. I plan to read until 9:00PM and then go to bed. My Kindle is fully charged.

It's 8:10PM and before I took my bath, I finished my latest book. I have one more to read before I have to make a day of it and go to bed at 9:00PM. I haven't done a lot, but I am tired. I will take a couple of Melatonin tablets before I go to bed. 

Thursday and Cleaning the Church

I slept very well last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I made my bed and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I will be helping with the cleaning of he church  this morning from 9:00AM until noon so I dressed appropriately in shorts and tee.

It's 5:43AM and I am eating my breakfast here in the den as usual. Today, after my trip to Walmart yesterday, I am having my breakfast bar and oatmeal again. In a little while I will go turn on the TV and hopefully catch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats.

I caught "the weather on the 8's" this time. Today is to be 97 degrees and sunny, Friday will be 98 degrees and sunny, Saturday to be 101 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 103 degrees and mostly sunny,  Monday 101 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday 92 degrees and scattered thunderstorms.Wednesday 87 degrees and AM thunderstorms. I've seen rain in the forecast before and it disappears before it happens. So I remain skeptical until I actually see it.

It's 6:28AM and no sign of the cats  yet.

Blondie was out there but no sign of Scruff yet.  He ate his fill and when he left I took in the cat food to the garage and covered it.

 I'd better start watering!

So More Later....

I got all the watering done and so far it's not too hot out there. About 8:00AM, I will leave for church to clean.

I got to the church to clean about 8:30AM. The others came shortly afterward. I took the kitchen and got it 75 percent done. It was a huge job. I got all the east, north and west cabinets done. I emptied them one cabinet at a time, scrubbed them down and organized them as I put the things back in their clean cabinets.I still have the south side and the center cabinet to clean and organize. Leslie took the closet with all the decorations for worship centers, Melissa took the classrooms, Leeann took the bathrooms and Karan took the office. None of us got it all finished. We are going to choose to do this every month the last week of each month. Leslie will choose a day and we will each continue to clean our rooms until we get them spotless and keep them that way.

After we finished, we went to the Dearing restaurant and had lunch. It was very good. Karan paid me for the 11 tees she bought from me but she paid me too much, and she wouldn't take any back so I bought her lunch. 

I was exhausted when I finished. It had been up and down a ladder and down on the floor and back up on my feet again from 8:30AM until after noon. It really wore me down. It's the mileage for sure.

Stephen brought my coffee cake dish back. We visited for awhile. He felt he had to apologize for eating the cookies his wife had planned to give me. I would have eaten them, I imagine, but I sure didn't need any more sweets. I have had two flurries a week for several weeks. I had just lost 12 pounds and didn't want to put them back on (at my age, it comes right off the face). So I sure don't want to lose any more.

I am going to water the flowers again and then come back in and take my bath. I am very tired. I did a lot of work today at church. Mainly though it was just sitting on the floor and then trying to get up without my knees hurting. Then I had to climb on the step stool to reach the high cabinets and get down carefully. But I managed not to hurt myself.

Krystal is going to mow for me on Sunday evening at 7:00PM. That will be good. Some of the yard needs it now. I believe Stephen mowed his today. The back is not as bad as the front and I haven't looked at the west side.I will try to get the trimming done first if the weather is not too hot. I can probably do it either early morning or later in the day after it cools down a bit.

I better get my watering done before I completely play out. 

I got the flowers watered... both front and back.

Then I took my bath and uploaded today's blog to Keith's personal blog.

Now I am ready to read awhile before going to bed at 9:00PM.

Wednesday and a Hair Appointment

I slept well last night but was up a little earlier then usual. I have made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am having another couple of toaster waffled this morning for my breakfast. I will be so glad to go back to my oatmeal for breakfast.  I also had some of my cranberry juice and a cup of coffee. Later I will have my chai too.

It's after 6:00AM now and I should go check out "the weather on the 8's" and the cats..I have eaten my waffles now.

I went up to the City of Caney's drop box and dropped my bill and check in it in an envelope. When I got back home the weather on the 8's" was on TV and I grabbed my phone and took a photo of it.

Today is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 96 degrees and sunny, Friday 97 degrees and sunny, Saturday 98 degrees and sunny, Sunday 101 degrees and sunny, Monday 102 degrees and mostly sunny, and Tuesday 94 degrees and AM thunderstorms. I'll have to see that to believe it. We were to have two days of rain this week and we had none.

I will leave for my hair appointment at 8:30AM. It is just 6:57AM now so I have some time. I want to go to the bank there in Coffeyville first and get some money for my hair appointment.

More Later... I left a little earlier for my appointment. I wanted to go to Wal- Mart first to get the school supplies. After I got mine,I left the list I got from the Board of Education with Coffeyville's Wal Mart store  to make copies for other Caney people who will be buying their school supplies. 

Then I bought the groceries I couldn't get at the Caney Market too. I ended up spending almost $50.00 for everything I bought.

I got to Toni's at my hair salon at 9:00AM... just in time for my color and hair cut.

Then.. this is Wednesday and on Wednesdays you can get the child's Wacky Pack dinner with two chicken strips and fries (or tater tots) and a tiny drink for just $2.18 at Caney's Sonic. I buy it nearly every Wednesday because it's just the right amount of lunch for me and it's also very cheap. 

I guess I will get back to my book now...

I have been reading all afternoon. I am tired of it now. It's 4:22PM and 97 degrees out there.I watered all the flowers again. I am trying my best to keep them alive. 

I guess I will try to catch the evening news when it comes on. That will be a half hour.

It's after 7:00PM and I will take my bath now and put my pajamas on and my robe. Then I will go back to my reading. I would like to finish this latest book.

I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM again. I will have a big day cleaning at the  church tomorrow from 9:00AM until noon.

Tuesday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM, as usual.I made my bed and got myself ready for the day. Because we are cleaning the church on Thursday, I am cleaning my apartment today. I am having a couple of frozen toaster waffles for my breakfast this morning. I am not wild about them but they're better then nothing. Actually the second one was still frozen so I stuck it in the microwave for a few seconds, It's hot now. I will be so glad when I have oatmeal again. I will go to the market after I get my hair done tomorrow.

In a little while, after I check the weather forecast and see to the cats, I will wait until it's light out and water the flowers if the rain is not forthcoming today.

I have finished my breakfast and put my dish in the sink... now I will go turn on the TV.

Sure enough, Blondie was out there looking for his breakfast. I took it out to him and when I got back in the house I saw that Scruff had joined him.They ate quickly and left.  I will leave it out there a little bit since they may come back for more.

I also caught "the weather on the 8's" and they have taken the rain out of the forecast today too. Today is to be 93 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 96  degrees and partly cloudy. Thursday is to be 97 degrees and sunny. Friday 97 degrees and sunny, Saturday is to be 98 degrees and sunny, Sunday is to be 100 degrees and sunny, and Monday is to be 102 degrees and mostly sunny. All the rain forecast is gone...how disappointing!

I guess I will bring in the cat food and cover it. They appear to be finished.

I got all the flowers watered this morning. I will do it again this evening.

 I have been watching the CBS news. 

When I finish this I will begin my cleaning with the mopping. 

I got the mopping finished and will rest a bit before beginning my vacuuming.

O.K. I got the bedroom, hall and den vacuumed but I am going to rest awhile until I start the living room and dining room. It's 8:20AM now.

I got the living room vacuumed and all I have left is the dining room. I will rest awhile before starting that. I have to move those heavy dining room chairs out of the way to vacuum that room.

I got the rest of the vacuuming done after I rested awhile. Everything is back the way it should be and the place is clean again. I dusted on Saturday so it should still be fine.

Shortly after noon, I went down to Copan Restaurant and had my small chef salad. That's the only thing that really appealed to me. I didn't want anything heavy and that and an iced tea is what I ended up having. It's always good and healthy too.

It's 3:44PM now and I just finished another murder mystery book. It never did rain but then I didn't expect it to after the forecast this morning.

I think I will go get a flurry at Mr.G's. That will reward me for all I got done today. :) It's 91 degrees today.

I went to get a flurry but their vanilla ice cream machine was broken again. They have had it repaired three times lately but now they are just going to buy a new one. So I went out to Sonic and bought something similar. It was good although not a flurry. It was a "blast".

Then I read again. I finished another book this afternoon. It's 6:11PM now and in another 50 Minutes, I will take my bath. Then at 9:00PM, I will go on to bed. 

Tomorrow my social security will come in and I will get my hair colored and cut over at Coffeyville. Then I will go out to Walmart and buy a few things I can't get here at our market including my school supplies for the Caney elementary school.. Then I will come back home. There's nothing going on at the senior center tomorrow after that.

Then on Thursday I will work out at the church with a group cleaning from 9:00AM until noon. I will need to take Windex. I was going to do the front door on Sunday but we had no window cleaner.

I will watch the CBS evening news before I take my bath.

Monday and a Visit With Nancy

I slept very well last night. I was so tired after being up so early yesterday morning. I went to bed at 8:00PM and  only woke up once in the night and took my meds and then got right back to sleep until 5:00AM. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I will fix some more waffles for my breakfast this morning. In fact I may just have a breakfast bar and coffee and my usual Chai this morning. I am not particularly hungry for some reason.

I am doing my usual Monday morning laundry this morning too...my towels, pajamas and underwear. I just put it all in the dryer.

My left thumb is very sore and swollen this morning. If it doesn't calm down I may take some Aleve for the pain. If I do that, I will have to have a breakfast of some kind.I don't want to take Aleve on an empty stomach. I see I am out of breakfast bars too. I may have to break down and have waffles after all if I decide to take the Aleve.

I am out of my Omeprazole too but I will have to wait until Wednesday to buy it. The doctor has me taking that for my occasional acid stomach instead of Tums or Rolaids. 

It' s almost 6:00AM and I will go turn on the TV for the weather report and check to see if the cats are out there for breakfast.

No  "weather on the 8's" yet and no cats yet either. It's still dark out there.. so maybe later...lots of dark clouds out there though. The rain isn't supposed to be until tomorrow but it sure looks foreboding today. It is getting lighter though. It is 6:15AM  now.

The forecast finally came on. Today is to be 100 degrees  and mostly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 95 degrees and AM Thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 95 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Thursday is to be 97 degrees and sunny, Friday is to be 97 degrees and sunny, Saturday 98 degrees and sunny and Sunday 101 degrees and mostly sunny. So this week's forecast is a mixture of weather. I hope we get the two days of thunderstorms. That would be good for the grass which is mostly yellow now.

Still no cats.... 

Blondie came first and I took food out to him. and He barely ate though. He must have eaten at home. But Scruff did finally come and she ate and then they sat out at my front door and looked around. Every once in a while she comes back to the cat food and eats some more.

I see with the latest 6:58AM forecast they took the rain out of Wednesday's forecast. That just leaves one day of rain. Drat! 

It's 7:46AM right now. 

I went to the post office and bought a book of stamps. Then I sent off the congregation letters I wrote to those who were not there yesterday and that included the bulletins. I wanted them to have the prayer list and the announcements.

It's only 8:24AM now and I will not leave for Nancy's until almost 10:00AM. She is always still in bed when I get there no matter what time I get there. If no one came, she would sleep all the time. That's how she copes with her depression.

I got to Nancy's about 10:00AM and sure enough, she was still in bed asleep.I turned on the light and woke her up. She dressed and got herself ready to go to lunch. About that time, lightening struck and thunder boomed and the lights went off momentarily and then came right back on. That happened  a couple of times.

Then it started pouring down rain. The storm went on for an hour or so before clearing up. 

In the meanwhile, since neither of us had an umbrella, we decided to have lunch in their dining room and stay in and visit. And that's what I did. I left at 3:00PM and came back home. I had intended to take her to the Copan Restaurant and I told her we would do that next week.

We had a good lunch at the assisted living home.

While we were there a man fell flat getting out of his walker on wheels into a dining chair. They checked him over carefully but called the hospital and they picked him up in an ambulance to check him over more thoroughly at the emergency room. He was a tall man in his 90's. He had a large bruise on his right elbow and he said his right leg hurt. He had also hit his head on the floor.

I stopped at Miller Brothers in Dewey and had them fill my gas tank.

It had not rained a bit in Caney! So I began watering again. It's 3:54PM now and I just watered the front flowerbeds and now I watered the back flowerbeds.

It's 7:03 PM now...

I will clean my apartment tomorrow because we will be giving the church a very thorough cleaning on Thursday from 9:00AM until noon. When Cyndi moved to Joplin we lost our thorough church cleaner. I go in for an hour before church and do what I can in that little time but it's very superficial. The office needs cleaning and the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning and the storage rooms need it too. Leslie plans to do the costume room where we keep the things we use to decorate and do worship centers.

I took my bath and got my pajamas on and my robe and got myself ready to read awhile before I go to bed by 9:00PM.

I was reading a site about old Coffeyville and it finally froze up and I had to do a cold reboot on the laptop to get it to come back up. I am going to bed now. It is 10:11PM. 

Sunday and Church

 I slept very poorly last night. I must have been awake every hour on the hour after 1:00AM. I don't know what the trouble was...I just couldn't stay asleep. About 3:00AM I finally just got up. I was just tossing and turning.

I have dressed and am eating my breakfast here now. Since I am out of oatmeal, I am just having a couple of frozen toaster waffles. They are all right but nothing to write home about. But they are filling.

As usual, I will drive over to church in time to get  there at 10:00AM so I can sweep up whatever bugs have crawled in under the door. I also sweep off the walks and greet those who attend and hand out bulletins. I personally think it's important to have someone greet those who attend. We're thankful for each one that attends. The fellowship is good too.

Mike and Laura won't be there today or next week either. Mike works in Burlington at the atomic energy plant there. Every once in awhile he has to stay over the weekend a couple of weekends to work that shift.

It's 6:21AM now and both cats came for their breakfast so I fed them. Then I caught "the weather on the 8's".

Today is supposed to be 100 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 95 degrees and partly cloudy , Tuesday is to be 94 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Wednesday 95 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday 98 degrees and sunny, Friday to be 98 degrees and partly cloudy and Saturday 99 degrees and sunny.Another hot week. Only one day has rain in the forecast and that's Tuesday. It's August...what more can we expect?

It's almost 7:00AM now and I just finished watering the flowers in the back yard and picking up several dozen leaves there and sacking them. It's about the only exercise I get and I am sure it's good for me.

I had better water those in the front yard too. We have no rain in the forecast until Tuesday so I will need to water those flowers if they are going to live.

I watered those in the front yard too and then read until time to leave for church..I left at 9:00AM and got there in plenty of time to  sweep up the bugs  and the mouse tracks and empty the trashes and put a new bag in the trash container.I bagged it up and I assume John took it.

 We all seven went to El Publito for lunch. I had a Casadea supreme and so did Karan. I couldn't eat all mine so I had it boxed up and brought it home. I may have the rest of it for supper. Karan took my rice.I am not a rice person. Melissa bought all of our lunches and we all just left the tip.That was good and generous of her.

I got home about 2:15PM and changed my clothes into something more casual.

I sent out five letters to those that were not at church today inviting them to join with us next week and I sent out the bulletins too for the prayer list and the announcements. I hope it helps. I will need to get some more stamps tomorrow. I also sent a sympathy card to Billie Jo who lost her sister, brother-in-law and favorite cousin all in one month..

I have read most of the afternoon and then because I had recorded 60 Minutes, I watched the recording. I do that so I can delete the commercials.I find if I record programs I want to watch, I enjoy them much more.I hate commercials. Most of the them are ether pharmaceuticals, car dealerships,or furniture commercials.The ones I resent the most are the pharmaceuticals.Folks  don't seem to realize how expensive TV commercials are and the cost of the commercials are added into the cost of the meds. Of course that's true also of the auto commercials and even the furniture. Each 30 second TV commercial back in the 80's and 90's was over $250. each and that was on Pittsburg, Kansas TV. Just imagine what a network commercial would cost at today's costs. 

So I record what I want to watch today and delete the commercials as I watch the programs.

It's almost 8:00PM now and I will take my bath and put my pajamas on and read some more. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM.
