Saturday and Laundry and Mowing

I slept fairly well last night. and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I stripped my bed and am washing my sheets and pajamas and underwear. I will wait awhile to turn on the TV for the weather. Then I will check for the cats coming for their breakfast. Only Blondie has been showing up lately. I don't know what has happened to Scruff. It has been awhile since I have seen her.

I will get some coffee. 

I drank my coffee and also my Chai Latte. I am not eating breakfast yet.

The weather forecast did come on while I was watching for it.

Today is to be 73 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy,  Tuesday is to be 77 degrees and AM showers, Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy.Thursday is to be 82 degrees and mostly sunny, and Friday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! One day of rain and that's Tuesday..the day Jeromy was supposed to have mowed for me.

I read until time to go to Bartlesville and get my tires rotated. Then I drove down there and went to get my car washed first and vacuumed it out afterward. Then I went to Tate Boys and got my tires rotated. It was a beautiful day and I read for awhile there in their lobby and then went outside where they had a few chairs and enjoyed the sunshine. I visited with another customer who was sitting out here.enjoying the sunshine too. His name was Michael. He was my grandson Jeromy's age. 

I stopped on the way through Dewey and bought a cherry limeade slush at the Dewey's Sonic.  Then I stopped at Miller Brother's for gas.

Then I stopped again at the Copan Restaurant and had a bowl of their vegetable beef soup for my lunch.  

When I got home, I mowed the front yard. It was dry..or at least mostly dry. I emptied the mower and lifted the bag into the trash receptacle. I didn't clean up the mower...just emptied it. I should have washed it down but I wasn't sure I should do that. I started trimming but the trimmer came apart. I tried to get it back together again but it wouldn't fit together the way it was supposed to. I just put it up. I may have to buy a new one.

I may take the mower around to the back where there's a hose and wash it down. I'll see if I can do that. 

I did take the mower around back and rinsed it off some. Not great ...but better..Then I took the trimmer around the yard and trimmed. It wasn't perfect but the best I could do under the circumstances. It isn't put together as well as it should be but it's the best I could do. It's old and my hands are not what they used to be either...especially my left hand.

I guess I'll get back to my book at least for awhile!

I stopped reading and took my bath at 7:00PM.  I have my pajamas on and my robe and will go to bed about 9:00PM

Friday and Reading

I slept well last night and was only up once in the night and took my two meds. I was up at 5:00AM as usual.   I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

Blondie was out front waiting for his breakfast. He didn't eat much and I saw nothing at all of Scruff.

I did catch the weather forecast though. I will put my blog on the desktop computer. It's easier to use..  The new laptop has an unusual keyboard.

Here's the weather forecast for the week. Today is to be 68 degrees and rain, Saturday is to be 73 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 77 degrees and  partly cloudy, Monday is to be 78 degrees and partly sunny, Tuesday is to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and scattered thunderstorms,  Thursday is to be 84 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the weather for the week.  Rain two days this week. Maybe Jeromy will be able to mow for me on Tuesday between the two days of rain...

I ate my breakfast in the living room this morning while I watched the weather channel..

I guess I will go to the library this morning and get three more mystery books to read. It's supposed to rain today so I won't be able to do anything else. I may dust again too.   

It's 9:07AM and it has been raining all morning. I haven't made it to the library yet because it's rained all morning. I have been watching "Good Morning America" instead.

I went to the library at 10:16M only to learn they don't open until noon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So I will have to go back this afternoon...and it was raining so my car got wet. That made a mess in the garage.

I went to the library and got three books after I got home from the market after buying some milk and a few other groceries. I also stopped by the post office and bought a book of stamps.

It's 2:49PM and I have been reading ever since I got home from the library.

It's 7:42PM and I have been reading most of the afternoon. I will take my bath now and put my pajamas and robe on and read until bedtime at 9:00PM or so.

                                                                                                                                                                                    

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well again last night with the exception of a rare phenomenon. At 5 minutes until midnight my doorbell rung and woke me up. I got up, got my flashlight and went to the front door and shined it out there, There was nothing there. That's the third time that has happened about a year apart. It always sounds very real and loud enough to wake me up from a sound sleep....but there is never anyone there. I went back to bed and back to sleep and slept until my usual 5:00AM.

I made my bed, dressed and got myself ready for the day. I am eating my breakfast here in the den now. 

But I did catch the weather report for the week. I hoped to get the west side of my yard mowed today because rain is forecast for tomorrow.Today is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy, tomorrow is to be 70 degrees and rain, Saturday is to be 74 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 78 degrees and partly cloudy Tuesday is supposed to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy and Wednesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy.  That's the week. Rain only Friday. That's tomorrow. If I don't get the west side mowed today, I won't get to it before the rain. It will probably be dry by Tuesday when Jeromy can get to it next week.

I will check on the cats again now. 

Blondie was out there and I fed him but I didn't see anything of Scruff. It's been a couple of weeks since I have seen her.  It feels like rain. I will have to check the grass when I go get the cat food.

I went out to check the cat's food and Blondie had finished all he was going to eat and left and I brought it in and I felt of the grass out there in front and it was very wet! So I won't be mowing today after all. It must have rained last night. I planned to clean the apartment anyhow so nothing has really changed. Just my plan. 

I took my mile walk this morning about 7:30AM and stopped by the library and dropped my last book into the book drop.

There wasn't much trash this morning. It has been too wet this past week. It's too wet to mow the west side this morning too. If it dries by afternoon or even evening, I might get it done.

I will start my mopping and cleaning now.  After that, I will vacuum.

I got the floors mopped and am now waiting for them to dry before I vacuum. After I vacuum, I may go down to see Nancy since I missed seeing her last Monday. I still have her coffeecake too. I gave Sally hers when we went to Independence for supper the other evening. I think that was Monday. 

I am doing a load of wash today too. After I get it in the dryer, I could leave for Bartlesville. Or I could wait until tomorrow when I have nothing else planned..

More Even Later... 

After I got my cleaning done, I went down to Bartlesville to visit Nancy.  I took her to Brahms for lunch.We had  a junior cheeseburger and fries and a junior milk shake. We enjoyed those and also the ride afterward. Then I took her home to the assisted living. She was very tired.

Then I came back home to Caney. I don't believe I am up to mowing.  I think the yard is dry. I am just pretty tired. It's been a big day. I mopped and cleaned and did a load of laundry and folded it and put it away. Then I went down to visit Nancy. I really need to rest.

About 4:15PM, I went out and started the mower. I mowed the west side of my yard and emptied the mower grass into the black yard bag and put that in the dumpster. I'm tired but not terribly tired and the west yard is mowed. Of course, the front needs it again now. I can't do it today..maybe tomorrow morning. I did the back yesterday...at least I think it was yesterday. My days get pretty mixed up. 

If I didn't have this blog, I wouldn't know what yard I mowed when. I will check back a day or two. 

I mowed the back yesterday and the front Saturday afternoon, I think...after lunch. 

I went out after I rested a bit and  trimmed the west yard and some of the front until the charge ran out. Then I brought it in and plugged it in the kitchen to charge, I will finish the trimming after I get a full charge...probably tomorrow. 

It's 5:45PM and I imagine the library is closed now but I will check it out. I meant to get some more books earlier but I mowed instead. Then I trimmed until my battery went down. It will be charged before morning and I can finish tomorrow.

More Later...after bath time. 

I took my bath at 7:00PM and put lotion on my feet and then put my pajamas and robe on. I have no library books since I was too late to get to the library this evening. But out of the hundreds of books I have here in the apartment, surely I can find something to reread. I will go to the library tomorrow and check out three more mystery books.

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept well again last night and was up at 5:00AM as usual. I am having my breakfast here in the den as usual too.I don't know if it rained last night but if it doesn't rain today, I may be able to mow the back yard this afternoon. I checked on the cats twice already but neither of them were there yet this morning.

But I was just in time for the weather forecast. 

Today is to be 77 degrees and it is to be AM clouds and PM sun, Tomorrow is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 70 degrees and rain, Saturday is to be  74 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 77 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy and Tuesday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week! Only one day of rain and that is Friday. Maybe I can get the yard mowed after all by next Tuesday.

Blondie finally came for his breakfast and I fed him. He didn't eat much but he did eat some so I brought the food in after I waited to be sure Scruff wasn't going to come eat too.

And today I plan to go over to Coffeyville to the senior center to play Bunco. But first I will have my hair done. Then I will go to the library and read until time for Bunco at 1:00PM.

I need to go out to their Walmart and get Chai Latte. I am completely out. I just had Hazelnut coffee this morning.

I did go out to Wall Mart in Coffeyville and got the few things i couldn't get at our market here in Caney. Then I went to Bunco at the senior center there. We had a good time. Afterward, I took my bit of leftover treat out to Marilyn's and gave it to her. I stayed and visited with her awhile and also her neighbor lady. I don't recall the neighbor lady's name. She and her husband moved in there while I was still living in the fourplex. He later died. She is a couple of years older then Marilyn. Marilyn was 90 this year. This neighbor is a good friend of Marilyn's.

Then after a good visit, I came on home. I stopped at the shop on Third street there in Caney and bought some bedding plants. Then when I got home, I planted them. 

The yard was dry so I put gas in the mower and mowed the back yard. I wasn't able to mow the west side. It was too much for me. If it's nice and dry tomorrow, I will mow the west side. The front has grown some since Sunday after church when I mowed it so I may have to mow it again if it doesn't rain on Friday. It is supposed to.

I got my groceries put away and emptied the grass out of the mower and put the grass bag in the dumpster and put a new bag in the rack for the mower.

Then I came in the den to work on this blog.

I guess I will go back to my book until bath time.

Tuesday and Doubtful Mowing

I slept pretty well last night and was up only once in the night, took my two meds and went right back to sleep. I slept until my usual 5:00AM, made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I am having my breakfast here in the den.

I will go in the living room now and turn on the TV for "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats.

There were no cats out there yet anyhow. I did go out and check the grass and it was soaking wet. No mowing today unless it gets very hot and dries out. I don't expect that.  I will text Jeromy the situation later today.

I did catch the weather report. Today is to be 69 degrees and cloudy, tomorrow is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy,  Friday is to be 71 degrees and showers, Saturday is to be 76 degrees and mostly sunny, Sunday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy and Monday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy...that's the week. Not too hopeful as far as mowing is concerned. Only Friday shows definite rain but the grass has to dry out before Jeromy can mow.

No cats showed up this morning so I didn't have to feed them. I am thinking of taking my walk. It's not raining right now and it would be good for me to get the exercise...as well as pick up trash from the street. I could take an umbrella... just in case.

I did take my mile walk this morning and it was nice out..no rain yet. I went to State street first because I wanted to drop two of my library books in the book drop at the library. I still have one to read. I may do that today. There wasn't a lot of trash because we had had so much rain. I had half a bag this time.

I have been reading my last library book.  It's 9:55AM now. 

I will get back to it soon.

Marilyn texted me that we were having Bunco tomorrow at the senior center.  I will get my hair done first, read awhile at the library and then go to the senior center for Bunco. I will need to get a treat for that. I will go to the market later today.

I texted Jeromy about the wet grass and he was aware of it. Maybe it will dry enough to mow later in the week although Friday is forecast for rain. If we don't get rain before then maybe it will be dry enough to mow Thursday.

I went to the market to get a treat for Bunco tomorrow and saw David Soles, Keith's classmate.  He said he stayed in touch with Keith through facebook. I didn't recognize him but he recognized me and told me his name.

I have been reading again today. It's my last library book. I may get some more when I am in Coffeyville tomorrow.

It's 11:30AM now.

It's 6:43PM now and I have been reading most of the afternoon. I just took my bath and put my pajamas on and my robe.  

I may go back to my book. There's nothing on TV that I am interested in.

Monday and No Trip to see Nancy

I was up even earlier then usual this morning. For some reason the light rain woke me up. It usually helps me sleep. I got up and went to the living room to check on the cats. Then I saw the TV was recording something so I turned it on and located the music it was recording and turned the recording off.

I saw a large fuzzy bug in the hall and got a Kleenex and picked it up and trashed it. Then I took the trash out to the dumpster and left the dumpster by the curb.. I thought I kept hearing a bug humming in the den. Then I realized it was coming from outside.

Always something!

Later on this morning after 9:00AM I will call the doctor's office and have them have Lorie, Dr. Christensen's nurse, call my two prescriptions in to the Caney Drug for refill. I will tell them about the letter I got from Cigna Pharmacy Management asking me to have my two prescriptions filled for 90 days instead of 30 days. That's the drug company Medicare assigned to me.

I used to have them refilled for 90 days at Walgreen's in Independence and the Medicine Shoppe in Coffeyville before I was assigned a Medicare prescription company. Caney Drug has not been doing that even though I have asked them to refill them both for 90 days each time. I guess I will have to show them the letter.

The Cigna drug insurance will not pay for a 90 day supply of my prescriptions.  The only way they will is if I order them from an online pharmacy and have them mailed to me. I finally called Cigna and had them explain that to me. I have no intentions of having my two prescriptions sent to me in the mail from an online pharmacy.

I fixed my breakfast and began to eat it here in the den. I haven't checked on the cats yet although I didn't see either of them when I took the trash out and the dumpster to the curb. It's been raining. Maybe that's why they weren't out there. I am eating my breakfast bar now and drinking my coffee.

Today is to be 72 degrees and heavy thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 71 degrees and cloudy,  Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 80 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 81 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 74 degrees and showers, Saturday is to be 75 degrees and partly cloudy, and Sunday is to be 77 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week. I don't see much chance for mowing the yard. Monday and Friday still show rain.

More Even Later..

I decided for sure not to go down to see Nancy. We are forecast for hail and I sure don't want to put my car through anything else that might dent it up.

Instead I read all afternoon and finished my latest book. Then I called Sally and asked her if she would like to go to Independence and have a fish dinner. I picked her up at 4:30PM and we drove to Independence to the fish place that had moved into the building that used to hold the Italian restaurant downtown.

After we ate, I took Sally home and came home myself, took my bath and watched some TV until bedtime. I took my Melatonin and allergy pill so I could sleep.

 

Sunday and Breakfast at Church

I slept pretty well last night and only woke up once..and then I took my meds and went back to bed and back to sleep until 5:00AM...my usual time to get up. I made my bed and got myself ready for the day.

I have made the coffeecake for the breakfast at church and it is in the oven baking now.  It will need to have the glaze put on it after it bakes and cools.It's only 6:39AM now so I have plenty of time.

I don't see any cats this morning but I did catch "the weather on the 8's".

Today will be 80 degrees and PM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 77 degrees and scattered thunderstorms,  Tuesday is to be 71 degrees and cloudy, Wednesday is to be 81 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 75 degrees and AM showers, and Saturday is to be 76 degrees and partly cloudy. That's the week and I see they have taken some of the rain out of the forecast. Only three days are forecast for rain now. Sunday Monday and Friday. Jeromy may be able to mow for me on Tuesday evening after his work after all. We will see. 

The coffeecake is out of the oven and cooling. When it is cool, I will put the glaze on it. 

It's 7:03AM now. I have plenty of time.

Scott just called me and talked to me about an hour for Mother's Day!

I will leave now for church. I will be early but I may need to get gas for my car. I will check it out.

I didn't need gas after all.  I may need it tomorrow because I will be going to Bartlesville to visit Nancy. I saw a moving van at her house today so they may have sold her furniture and may have actually sold her house.

More Later..

We had a nice lunch. John and Leslie brought Mini and Kiki with them and they both behaved nicely in church. They are two of their Corgis. Then after church John and Leslie invited Karan and me to lunch at El Pueblo in Coffeyville. We had a nice lunch and John bought our lunch. Leslie and he bought me a cute card and a lovely little ceramic bird for Mother's Day. I have a ceramic bird collection so that fit right in with the others.

John and Leslie took Mini and KiKi with them to Roaring River. They will all have a good time.

I got home at 2:00PM or so.

Later I worked up seven letters for those who were not at church today and sent each of them a bulletin and a letter so they would have the announcements and prayer list. I took them to the post office and dropped them in the outside box. I will need to get some stamps tomorrow. I am low on them now.

I had a time getting Zoom to work again. I finally ended up on the laptop computer.

Now it's 6:57PM and time for my bath. Afterward I will go back to my book, I guess, or watch 60 Minutes. I had recorded it.
