Saturday and a Trip to Joplin

I slept well again last night and only woke up once for my nightly trip to the bathroom. I got right back to sleep. I think the trick is to stay up later. It was after 10:00PM when I finally finished my book and went to bed.

I got up at my usual 5:00AM, dressed, made up my bed and my face and had my breakfast of breakfast bar, oatmeal and coffee. Soon I will fix my Chai latte and go watch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats. I also will need to text Bob.

I will get back to this later....

It looks like we're going to have rain today and several more days of it.

I looked out the front door and I had both Inky and Blondie out there waiting for their breakfast. I went to the garage and filled their empty bowls and raised the door. As I was filling their bowls, I could hear them meowing at the garage door.  When I raised it they rushed in.

I see the light blond cat is out there in front drinking water out of the cat's water dish.

It may be awkward trying to deliver those puppies to those that are meeting us there at Joplin. Of course, Joplin may not have rain. They are over 70 miles away. I will take my all weather coat and umbrella.

John must have read in the blog that I was a little concerned about my car in that church parking lot just in case it hailed.

Leslie just texted me that I could come on up to their place and put my car in their garage just in case of hail. I will do that.

She also told me to wear nothing light...puppies, you know. I am wearing my blue jeans.

It's only 6:45AM now so I still have plenty of time. I need to be there at 8:30AM. I will leave here about 8:00AM or so.

More later...

And that's what I did. I left at 8:00AM and drove to Leslie and John's in the rain. I put my car in their garage and got into Leslie's vehicle with the two puppies. We will deliver them to their new owners. She drove to Joplin and on the way, I held one of the puppies. The noise from the road upset one of them and soon the other one wanted to crawl into Leslie's lap. We rode that way until the parking lot at Crackerbarrel. That's where the new owners met us. Both puppies were delivered. And both were delighted and then we went over to Olive Garden and had lunch.

After lunch, we started back home and Leslie took me to her home to pick up my car.  We had a good visit along the way.

I came home and started reading on a new book I had downloaded from Amazon. Soon I was bored with it and decided to work on this blog instead.

It's 4:15PM now and I guess I will watch the CBS news soon. After the news, I went back to my book.

Then at 7:00PM, I took my bath and I read all evening and finished my latest book.  At 9:30PM, I went on to bed.

Friday and Dusting

I slept very well last night and was up at my usual time. I stayed up to finish my  latest book. I think it was nearly 11:00PM when I finally went to bed.

I texted Bob and he said it looked like rain out there. It's still very dark so I can't tell.

I have had my breakfast bar and oatmeal and am working on my coffee now. I will look out when I turn on the TV for "the weather on the  8's".

So more later....

Inky and Blondie were the only cats out there but I filled all the dishes and set them into the garage and opened the garage door. Maybe the others will show up now.

This notebook is on battery saver now. I may have to find a screwdriver small enough to open the battery area and order a new battery.

I have had it for over two years and it's on the same battery.

It appears to have rained a little out there but not much. I think rain is forecast for today and all weekend. It is light now and 7:00AM now.

Leslie and I are supposed to go to Joplin tomorrow to deliver the last two puppies.

More later....I want to check on the cats out there.

It drizzled off and on all day and I basically stayed home. I did go out to Sonic later this afternoon and bought a medium coke. I read most of the afternoon on another new book.It was just too chilly to get out for long.

Two of the cats, Inky and Blondie came back for some supper and I just put what they left this morning out there  and they ate on that. When they were finished they came up for a drink of water and then left to go find some shelter. It is drizzling again.

I am to meet Leslie tomorrow morning at 8:30AM at the Tyro Christian Church for our trip to Joplin to deliver the last two puppies to their new owners. I only hope it doesn't hail. I will leave my car at the Tyro Christian Church. The rain won't hurt it. It's supposed to rain for several days

I did watch the CBS evening news and afterward took my bath at 6:14PM and put my pjs and robe on. I will go back to reading again this evening until my eyes just get too tired.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning

I slept well last night and was up at my usual 5:00AM. I have been reading my online County Chronicle, having my breakfast and coffee. I got my Community of Christ newsletter finished and printed off last evening before bedtime. It's out on the mailbox with the red flag up now...ready for the mailman to pick it up this noon.

I see my next door neighbor here in the duplex has let his big black dog out to use his back yard. He says it is a service dog for his son but I never see the son. Suzanne says the dog should either be in the back yard or in the garage but I hear it all the time in the den room next to mine. Suzanne is just overlooking it or still believes Brandon's story. It's her business..not mine.

I need to go watch "the weather on the 8's" and feed whatever cats are out there. I will get back to this later...

I watched the weather and fed four cats...Blondie, Scruffie and Inky and the large yellow cat that belongs to my neighbor on State street. When they finished I put the cat dishes away in the garage on a TV tray out there.

Then I washed the bare floors in the kitchen and bathroom and around the edges of the dining room rug and when commercials came on CBS I vacuumed all four carpets in those other rooms. I finished about 10:20AM and cleaned up the vacuum, washed the filters and put the vacuum sweeper away. Those filters are supposed to dry overnight before I put them back in the vacuum sweeper. They are on the kitchen cabinet top drying now.

It has been raining lightly. It is overcast out there.

If it clears up, I may move my car into the street and blow out the garage. It has a lot of leaves in it since I feed the cats out there with the door up.

I have only the dusting in the house to do now and I may do that tomorrow.

More later...I will go back to my latest mystery book and read awhile.

I read until I got hungry for lunch and then just fixed myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I had an ice cream bar for dessert.

Keith called about 3:15PM and talked to me about 15 or 20 minutes. They are looking forward to coming in April and I am really looking forward to that too. They will be here on the 20th and stay until the weekend. Their 10th anniversary is the 22nd.

It's after 3:36PM now and I will go back to reading in awhile. But now I want to move my car into the street and blow the dirt and leaves and stuff out of my garage.

So, more later...

That didn't take long...less then 10 minutes and it looks a lot better and cleaner. A lot of leaves had blown in while the door was up and I was feeding the cats in there.

I may go out to Dollar General and get the few things that are on my grocery list. I will be so glad when out market opens and I can go to a grocery store locally.

I did go out to Dollar General and spent about $17.00 and change on the few things I needed. That will hold me for awhile.

At 6:40PM I took my bath  and will read until bedtime. That will probably be around 9:00PM. I am pretty tired after cleaning the apartment.....vacuuming and moping. Tomorrow I will dust.

Wednesday and Breakfast With Bob

I was up before 5:00AM this morning and got myself ready for breakfast with Bob. I did have a cup of coffee here and fed four cats before bringing in the bowls to the garage, putting my frozen cake in the trunk of my car and driving over to Coffeyville to pick up Bob. When I got to his building, I took the frozen cake in and put it in his freezer.

After that, I took my sacks to Genesis and then went to get gas. For some strange reason, Woodshed would not accept my debit card  so I bought my gas in Coffeyville. Then I went to the beauty shop to get my hair washed.

Then I came on back home to have my lunch. I went by Sonic and had their Wednesday special. It is the child's chicken strips and tater tots and a small coke for $2.18.  That was my lunch.

Then I came home and downloaded another couple of free books  to read from Amazon.

I read until nearly 3:00PM and then began my phone calling again. I got everyone this time except Kelly and Gene and Chris. I added to my letter all those others.

It's 5:00PM now. It's been a busy afternoon. At 7:00PM, I will take my bath before I try to reach the last three.

Tuesday and Another Good Night's Sleep

I slept well last night again..even though I had the congregational newsletter on my mind. Sometime after 10:00AM, I will start calling people in the congregation for their news. I heard from Johnna this morning.

I have had my breakfast and coffee and will fix my Chai and take it in the living room to watch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats.

So, more later...

Sure enough! There were four cats waiting for their breakfast. The neighbor's yellow cat was one of them and Scruffie and Inky and Blondie were the others. I was surprised to see Scruffie there with the others. She usually likes to come alone to eat so she won't have to hiss and spit at the others and claw them away from her. She is so pregnant!! Poor thing!

I will watch the CBS news again this morning unless they go back to the Oprah interview again.  I am tired of that. It is no longer news and I had no interest in it to begin with.

More later....It's 7:00AM now. I am still waiting for the "weather on the 8's".

I watched the weather and sure enough the CBS news was still going over the British stuff Oprah interviewed about last week. I just turned it off and read the book Shirley sent me.

I read until noon and then had one of my Chicken Pot Pies for my lunch,,,followed by one of my ice cream bars.

I started the congregations newsletter but only got Johnna's news in it, Karan Maritt's news in it and Bob Avery's' in it and my own little dab of news in it. I tried several times to reach Billie Jo but her phone was always busy.

Maybe this evening I will get some more from those who have jobs.

About 2:30PM, I took a break and picked up Nancy and we drove to Independence  to Wal Mart's to get an ink cartridge for my printer.

I got Nancy back home in time for Laura's visit.

So, more later...perhaps.

Monday and a Good Night's Sleep

I slept well last night and woke up at 6:30AM for a change. I texted Bob while I was dressing and making up my face. He evidently slept later too.

I have had my breakfast and will go watch the"weather on the 8's" and then check on the cats. So more later...

I watched the weather and then some of the CBS news. It was all about Harry and his wife's problem with the royal family.  Who cares here in the United States. They have done the only thing they could. They gave up the Royal Family. That Royal family is obsolete and this needs to be the end of it...especially after what happened  to Diana and the royal family. Just my opinion.

I fed four cats this morning and after they finished I put away the bowls.

More later...

I tried to watch CBS this morning but it was all about Prince Harry and his wife's interview with Oprah Winfrey. They complain about their treatment by the British press and then they grant an interview with Oprah Winfrey. What's the difference  between the British press using them and ours? I had to just turn it off.

It's 9:45AM and I just had another breakfast bar.  I think I will bake my cake for next week's dinner at the First Christian Church in Independence. I may put it in the church's freezer or Bob may just want to put it in his there in his freezer at his apartment.

More later.... after I get the cake out of my oven and let it cool.

O.K. The cake's out of the oven and cooling...so I can ice it later... I will need to find out if Bob wants it frozen in the church's freezer or in mine or his. I have texted him. Maybe he will check it and give me an answer soon.

Some more CDC news:

"The CDC says fully vaccinated people can visit others who’re fully vaccinated in small gatherings indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing. Fully vaccinated people can also visit unvaccinated people if the latter are not at high risk of severe COVID-19".

I thought that was interesting.

Bob wants me to bring my cake to his apartment instead of to the church.

O.K. My cake is baked, cooled and iced and now in the freezer. I will take it to Coffeyville on Wednesday and put it in Bob's freezer. The cakes are not due until the 16th but mine is finished now and ready for that day.

I don't have another plan for today. It's a beautiful day. I may just have to read some more. I could do some laundry too. I am out of underwear and towels.

More later....

About 12:45PM, Scruffie came around to eat. She is very pregnant. Poor thing! She likes to come by herself. If the others come she has to fight for her food. She is eating now.

My friend and classmate, Shirley, sent me a book that I am starting to read now. I got it in today's mail. It is non fiction and the title is "Killers of the Flower Moon". It is about the murders of the Osage Indians and the birth of the FBI. My great great grandmother was a part of the Trail of Tears and the terrible treatment of walking the Cherokee nation from Florida to Indian Territory. Hundreds died in that forced walk. The Trail of Tears was part of a series of forced relocations of approximately 100,000 Native Americans between 1830 and 1850 by the United States government known as the Indian removal.  Luckily my great great grandmother made it alive. This treatment of the Osage Nation is one injustice I had not heard about so Shirley sent me the book.

I went up to Independence and bought some more bananas and some more breakfast bars. Then I came back home to watch the news and read.

Both Inky and Blondie were outside the garage here meowing their heads off. They didn't make it this morning for breakfast. I put the bowls back down that I put down this morning for the others. They are eating that now.

More even later ......

I read in Shirley's book until time for my bath at 7:00PM. Then Leslie contacted me and asked me to put out another newsletter. Johnna's daughter, Kim, got married again on the 6th and since Johnna sent Leslie that news and Leslie forwarded it on to everyone on her list, I included that news. I will call everyone I can after 10:00AM this morning and see if I can gather some more news from everyone. I printed off all the envelopes last evening. After my bath I read some more until shortly after 9:00PM when I went on to bed.

Sunday and Online Church Again.

I slept very well last night. It seems I sleep much better when I go to bed later. I am dressed and ready for the day. I have had my coffee and breakfast bar and am working on my oatmeal now. When I finish that, I will go turn on the TV and watch the "'weather on the 8's" and then check out the cats.

It seems my mornings are mostly alike during this pandemic. ...boring.

I enjoyed my visit with Leslie last night, She seldom calls. If anything...she texts me. She is so busy. The boys usually call every week or ten days and catch me up on their activities and check me out.

I will take my chai into the living room and check out the weather and the cats now. I will get back to this later.

Scruffie was the only cat out there when I opened the door. I set out all four bowls though, figuring the others would see her or the open garage door and come eat while they can. I am positive Scruffie is pregnant again.   She looks like she could deliver any day. I see Blondie is out there in front of my front door now. I don't know why that cat doesn't go eat while the food is out there. I see Blondie is gone now to go eat.

More later...I am still waiting to see the  "weather on the 8's".

I watched "the weather on the 8's" and then turned on channel 6. Later I called Nancy to see if she wanted to go for another drive but she was not interested and wasn't dressed. I read some and then decided to drive back down to Bartlesville myself and look around for something to do. I texted Leslie but she was busy cleaning out her flower beds. I went into the TJ Maxx store and walked through it but didn't find a thing I was interested in buying. Then I drove into one of the newer additions there and looked around too. Then I just came back home to Caney.

I started another book on my Kindle but so far it isn't too interesting. That's why I came in the den to work some more on my blog. It's 3:50PM now and the day being is very slow.

More later.

I read until 6:00PM and then logged onto Zoom for the Mission Center service. I wasn't all that impressed but I stayed with it. Everything was fine except the sermon.

Leslie called and invited me to go next Saturday to meet the two folks that bought the last two puppies. They are from Springfield and will meet us there. I was happy to be asked and will go with her.

I watched the recorded 60Minutes program after that.

Then I took my bath at 7:00PM went on to bed at 9:00PM.
