I took a melatonin tablet when I went to bed last night. That helped me get to sleep but I awoke at 12:30 and was unable to get back to sleep. I ended up taking a Zzzquil to get back to sleep. I slept until 6:00 after that.
Bob came by at 6:45 and we went to Eggberts for breakfast. He wants to go to Tyro for the car show there about 11:00. He will come by and pick me up around that time.
I don't have a plan for today except for that car show.
I went out briefly after I got back from breakfast and watered the flowers in the front in the pots.
So more later...
I finished my book. Now I don't know what else to read. I will have to check with Amazon.
Here is my east side flowerbed. I took some of the pansies out so there are some bare spots.
Maybe I will remember to take some photos at the car show and post them here this afternoon. Sometimes I forget I carry my camera in my purse. But perhaps more later....
I did take in the car show but didn't take any photos. It was too hot in the sun there. I did see an old friend I used to call on when I worked at the radio station. It was T.J. Balentine and he and his wife, Edra, had Balentine's TV store here and in Bartlesville. We had a nice visit.
When I got home Missy was asleep on the sofa. I opened one of Bob's cans of Coke and drank that.
Then I laid down with Missy to take a nap.
More later...
This is a photo I got in an e-mail from Keith. He and his wife, Esther, are in Colorado on vacation. They must be having a great time!
Later Bob came over to watch the news. When he left I took my bath and pjs on and watched a movie on TV until 9:00 when Missy and I went to bed.

Friday and a Bad Night
This was another of those bad nights. I took a melatonin table at bedtime and it lasted until 3:00. Then I woke up and took my med and went to the bathroom. I could not get back to sleep until almost 4:30. Then I slept until 6:00.
This morning sometime they will deliver my chair. I will not go to exercise class because I need to be here when they come.
I will fix lunch. I plan to have tuna cakes and fried potatoes a salad and a veggie. I will get some peaches for dessert.
More later....
I saw a post from Scott. He says their weather bureau says that hurricane will be a category 1 by the time it reaches them. I wonder if this is the same weather bureau that told him Matthew would not be a problem last year. We will see....
More later...breakfast is calling me.
Well, I stayed home from exercise class in hopes my chair would come early. Now it's time to start lunch and I will have to put that off until they bring it. So we will have a later lunch. It's five until 11:00 now and still no chair.
More still later...
They finally brought my new chair shortly before noon. It's a rocker/recliner and fits me perfectly. I have short legs.
Bob then took me to lunch at Kansas Buffet. That was good of him. I will cook those tuna cakes and send them home with him this evening.
Here's a photo of the new chair.
The color is the exact color found in the sofa pattern....kind of a beige/gold.
This is Steve. He mows for us and does a great neat job.
More later....I need a nap.
I had a nap and read for awhile. After 5:00, Bob came over to read the paper and watch the news and
watch Brooks and Shields. Brooks was off and Gerson took his place.
After Bob left I took my bath and watched TV until 9:00 when I went to bed.

Thursday and Housecleaning Day
I didn't sleep really well last night and got up at 4:45.
I will clean the apartment today. I will scrub the kitchen floor on my hands and knees this week. I hit it with the wet swifter last week and that helps but really doesn't get it completely clean so every other week I give it a really good cleaning by hand.
I am keeping the weather channel on my TV. I am concerned about the Florida kids.
I have borrowed the money for my new rocker recliner from my savings. I will pay it back a hundred dollars a month. That's what the payment on the hearing aid was so I shouldn't miss it. They will deliver it tomorrow. I want the apartment to be clean for that. I gave the old worn out recliner to Kenny next door. He will put it in one of Dr. Sandu's furnished apartments. I was glad to get it out of my apartment and Kenny had a pickup.
I'd better get busy. So more later...
I have both bare floors cleaned. Now I need to vacuum the carpets and I will be finished except for dusting. Dusting is not a big deal in a two bedroom apartment.
So more later...
They had a good lunch at my alliance meeting. The program was also very good. It was on mentoring at risk children at the elementary school. If I had more patience with children, I would be tempted to sign up.
The apartment is clean! Now I am ready for my new rocker recliner. They will deliver it on Friday.
Bob came over at 5:00 to watch the news and left at 6:15. I took my bath and watched TV with Missy until 9:00. Then I went to bed.

Wednesday and Exercises
I slept very well last night and got up at 6:00. I had taken a ZeeQuil. That makes a lot of difference in how well I sleep.
I baked peanut butter cookies this morning. I was completely out of cookies. I have Bunco this afternoon at 1:00 until 3:00 or 4:00 and I will take some of the cookies for my treat after we get half way through the games.
I have called in and ordered my blood pressure med and will have to pick it up this afternoon some time after the Bunco games.
Kay, who lost her husband two weeks ago, should be back to leading exercise class today. If she can't make it, I will continue until she can come back. Also, Delores, who runs the senior center, is in the hospital in Tulsa. Her heart stint failed two weeks ago and she had a heart attack. She may have to have a pacemaker. They have had a terrible time getting her heart to beat regularly. They tried shocking it and that didn't work, then they tried stopping it and restarting it and that failed too. They are going to try medication. Sheila is running the senior center until Delores can come back....if she can come back at all.
I also need to stop by the Community National Bank and get them to activate my new church card. I will have to choose a pin number for this one. It has a chip in it and is strictly a debit card.
It will be a busy day. so more later ......
Kay was back so I did not have to lead the class.
Bob stopped by the bank before he took me home after exercise class and I got the church's bank card activated. I also had him stop at the Medicine Shoppe and I got my blood pressure med picked up. Now all I have to do is attend Bunco games this afternoon after lunch. I will start lunch in about 30 minutes. We are having leftover meat loaf and baked potatoes and corn. We will eat the rest of his coleslaw and have the last two cupcakes for dessert.
Thursday I have Ministerial Alliance and if he doesn't want to attend, he will be on his own for lunch.
Friday we will have tuna cakes and fried potatoes and salad and a veggie.
More later....
Bob came about 11:15 and I was warming lunch.
Lunch was fine. It warmed up nicely in the microwave. I baked potatoes in the microwave too. I did the frozen corn on top on the stove. Dishes are in the dishwasher and are being washed right now.
More later....after Bunco.
I took cookies as my treat for Bunco. I won low...$5.00, because I had the most losses. But I had a good time.
Afterward I read both papers. I got the Journal in the mail and the Reporter was thrown by a carrier. Now I am watching the weather channel. Hurricane Irma is heading toward Florida, where my younger son and his wife live. They intend to evacuate after Scott gets of work on Friday...I hope that won't be too late.
I just gave Missy her treats. She watches me about 4:45. That's when she gets her treats. She gets some when I get up in the morning too.
More later... Bob will be here shortly to watch the news.
Bob came to watch the news and after he left at 6:30, I took my bath and watched the weather channel until bedtime. I am really concerned about my younger son and daughter-in-law who live in Florida. Friday evening Hurricane Irma is supposed to hit landfall.

Tuesday and Hair Day
I awoke at 2:00AM and it was off and on from then on. I finally just got up at 4:00AM. I am ready for the day. I have fed Missy and myself.
I have checked the weather channel and Hurricane Irma is coming down on Florida. My younger son and his wife are probably in it's path. They live in Florida seven miles from the eastern coast. They say it may be a category 5 before it hits Florida on Friday evening. Last year they were hit with Hurricane Matthew. It took a couple of months before their damage was repaired. And Matthew was a category 5.
I checked with Scott this morning and they are preparing already. They now have a generator.
An emergency kit should include these things: A gallon of water for each person per week and prepare for two weeks, a battery operated radio and extra batteries, extra cash, flashlights, matches, first aid kit, Duct tape, rain gear, canned food, manual can opener, extra blankets, heavy gloves, extra meds, scissors, fire extinguisher, plastic garbage bags, clock, soap, bottled juice, two coolers...one for drinks and one for food, dry pet food, store important papers and documents in waterproof container.
This hurricane is huge! It just went to category 5.
Bob and I will deliver the cakes today at the First Christian Church in Independence just before I get my hair done. Then we will do some browsing around before we go to Big Cheese for lunch. Then we will go on to Bartlesville for a 2:30 appointment to get my oil changed at Honda of Bartlesville. I have a coupon for a $19.95 oil change there.
When I get back home I will take Bob to his home and then come home to take a nap with Missy.
More later...
We ended up going to Bartlesville for lunch at McCalisters. Then we walked around the mall until time to go to Honda of Bartlesville and get my oil changed and my tires rotated.
I took Bob home after I stopped at Woodshed and bought gasoline. Then I came home myself and worked on my checkbook. I transferred some money from my savings to buy a new rocker recliner at Bob Loftis Furniture in Bartlesville. I will need to get that money back in my savings at $100. a month.
They will deliver the rocker recliner on Friday. I gave the old chair to Kenny Tosh for some of Dr. Sandu's rentals. I was glad to get rid of it. It was such a mess. Missy had ruined it but it was old anyhow. Now I know that if I put the sofa pillows in the chairs, she will not get into them.
The new one will go well with my sofa. It is a beige gold plain color. The sofa has a pattern with that color it it.
More later...
I watched TV with Missy until 8:00. We watched American Experience on PBS and it was the second half of "Walt Disney" that I watched the first half of last Tuesday. Then I went to bed at 9:00 but first I took a ZeeQuil.

Monday and Labor Day
I slept well last night without any antihistamines. I awoke feeling pretty good.
I have been following Hurricane Irma on the weather channel. It may hit Florida and I don't know whether it would go far enough up north to hit Yulee, where Scott and Ginger live. I hope not. They went through Hurricane Matthew last year and had major damage.
I don't have a plan for today. I will fix lunch. I have the hamburger thawing and we will either have meatloaf or spaghetti. I haven't decided which. It depends on how thawed the meat gets. It's spaghetti if it isn't completely thawed.
I have done a small load of laundry already this morning.
I fixed the meatloaf and baked potatoes and frozen corn for lunch and since I had baked my cake for the First Christian Church in Independence for tomorrow, I made four cupcakes too. We will each have a cupcake for dessert.
It will be hot today that's for sure. We have had a week or so of temperatures in the 80's but at least today it will be in the high 90's.
More later...
It was hot today. I laid down with Missy and took a short nap. Then I sat down and read part of the afternoon. After that, I began work on my sermon for October 22nd. There were no exercises today because of the Labor Day holiday.
I also did another load of laundry this afternoon.
Bob came over to watch the news and left at 6:00. Then I posted on this blog and will soon take my bath and put my p.j.s on. I plan to go to bed at 9:00.

Sunday and a Sermon
I slept pretty well last night. I got up shortly after 5:00 and dressed and got ready for the day.
Rick and Carmen had company all day yesterday. I don't know whether they will be at church today or not. They haven't missed in a couple of months. They are such nice kids and my next door neighbors.
I will be speaking this morning. There are six of us that rotate that responsibility. Three of us are Elders and we have one Priest, and one Teacher. Bill is not a member but he has attended for twenty five years and he brings a message. Those titles are offices in our church. We have no paid ministry. We are all self sustaining. We now have three pastors. When I retired from the office three years ago, I nominated the three pastors. They have shared the responsibility ever since. They all have very responsible jobs. My daughter is the Elder and the scheduling pastor and she is a case manager for Four County Mental Health, Melissa is the events pastor and a doctor and is the priest and Johnna is the teacher pastor. I do not know what Johnna's full time job is. Leslie and Melissa are the Coffeyville/ Independence representatives and Johnna represents the members from Neodesha. It works for us.
After church we will probably go over to Cherryvale for lunch at "Just Us". After lunch I will come home and do my congregational newsletters.
More later...
The sermon went over well. After that we went to "Just Us" for lunch. Then Bob brought us home and I got my newsletters out.
More later...
I laid on the sofa with Missy in the afternoon and took a short nap. Later I read in my book.
Bob came in to watch the news and 60 Minutes. He left after that and I took my bath and watched TV until 9:00 when Missy and I went to bed.
