Saturday and Reading Again

I slept much better last night.Thank goodness.  I went to bed at 9:00PM after reading and finishing another book. Then I had to charge the Kindle again.

The apartment seems chilly this morning so I turned up the furnace a little to take the chill off.

I was up at about half past 4:00AM but I had gone to bed early. I was so tired. I enjoyed my day with Leslie but it was certainly busy.

I am having my breakfast now and it is 5:20AM.

When I took my bath last night I discovered a bleeding sore about the size of a quarter. I have no idea when or how that happened but I put some triple antibiotic cream on it and two bandaids to completely cover it. They were still on it this morning.

In a little while I will go turn on "the weather on the 8's" and see what to expect today.

It's only 5:30AM so I doubt the cats are out there. But I may check. They didn't get any supper last night. I forgot about them as I read.

My computer says it is 19 degrees out here this morning and it's supposed to get up to the 40's today. I checked but the cats were not out there this morning...not yet  at least, It's not quite 6:00AM yet so I will give it some time before I check again.

More later...

I did check again and both cats were out there...very hungry. They ate and Blondie got full first and left but Scruff stayed and ate and ate. She had had no supper last night. Finally she was full and left and I brought the food in and put it in the garage and covered it.

I have been watching the CBS news.

It became time to change my bank password again (every 90 days) and I did that. I wrote it down since it's brand new and I may forget what it was.

It's 7:39AM now and I may go back to reading again. I had downloaded another Amazon free to read book again last night before I went to bed.

It's 9:12AM now and I have been reading since I turned off the TV. I don't exactly know what I will do today.  I will put the filters back in my vacuum and vacuum the dining room but that's all I have planned. I may as well do that now.

More later...

It's 10:25AM and I have been reading again. I want to go to the Caney Market and buy some water. I am out. I will be back later.

The Caney Market didn't have any grape flavored water. I also got my refund check from Sherry for the canceled tour of Ponca City. So I decided to go to Coffeyville and cash it since I will get my color and cut next Wednesday. I also wanted to go to the Coffeyville Wal Mart for the flavored water and while I was there I noticed they had one box  of Chai Latte so I also bought it. Then I decided to check out the Independence Wal Mart and see if they had any. I haven't been able to find any for a couple of months.  They did! They had four boxes.I bought three of them and left one for someone else.

Then I went by the Dairy Queen in Independence and bought a medium sized blizzard for my lunch. I was also going to stop by John and Leslie's and see the new puppies but she was over to the church's campgrounds and John was out delivering his product so no one would be home. I will see the puppies another time.

I came back home and put away my groceries. It's 45 degrees now and the sun is shining brightly.

I will read this afternoon. It's 2:03 now.

So I will get back to this later.

I checked on the cats at 5:30PM and they were both out there hungry. I took their food out to them and when they were finished I put it in the garage and covered it.

I read all afternoon and finished my latest book.I downloaded another one but I think I will change the Kindle before I begin it.

I ordered some of my Merle Norman makeup products by phone. The only Merle Norman store in the area is in Chanute. The one in Bartlesville close several years ago and the one in Independence closed last year. I call the store in Chanute and tell them what I need and ask the price and then I send them a check and they send me the package of products. They don't even charge me for the postage. It's very convenient.

It is 6:30PM now and I will take my bath and get myself ready for bed before I read again. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM or thereabouts.

Friday and a Cancelled Trip to Chanute

I am still debating whether to try to go to Chanute today. I woke up at 12:30AM and never was able to get back to sleep for very long. Finally about 3:30AM I took some melatonin and slept some. I woke up at my usual 5:00AM and am still feeling groggy. I am not sure if I ought to try to make that long trip to Chanute on unfamiliar Highways 75 and 39 and then wind my way into Chanute to find the uptown area when I might fall asleep at the wheel.  I will wait until I have had my coffee and see if that wakes me up some more. This is so disgusting. If Highway 169 were finished and operating, I am more familiar with that highway. It's a straight shot north.

More later....I will go watch the weather and check on the cats.

Both cats came for breakfast and they are eating like they hadn't eaten in a month and I know better then that. I am still waiting on the local "weather on the 8's". The computer says it's 8 degrees out there and clear.

I have decided not to try to drive to Chanute when I am so groggy feeling. I will go another time. I will go with Leslie to Bartlesville. She will be driving. Maybe by 10:00AM I will feel more awake. I plan to go see Gay next week. Surely by then I will get some better sleep.

I called Gay and explained my situation to her and we agreed that as tired as I am, I should not drive today. I will try to go next week after I am better rested.

Leslie said she would be here between 10:00AM and 10:30AM this morning to pick me up.

I did go ahead and vacuum the living room. I will do the dining room rug later today after the filters have dried.  I wash them after each time I use the .

Leslie just texted me she was heading out now. She will be here to get me with in 15 minutes or so.

I'll get back to this later.

Leslie came and she found the paper towels for her dispenser and then we went to eat lunch since the car wash was not open yet. After lunch, we went back to the car wash and it was open then. She washed her car at that drive through car wash and we vacuumed it out too. She also got a manicure there in Tuxedo. Then we came on back home. We had a nice visit. It was a pretty day although a cold one.

John had had a catastrophe. He went to get his truck bumper welded and the welding set the truck on fire under the hood. They couldn't get the truck hood open to see how much damage there was. He went to talk to Scott at Quality Motors about it and they managed to get the hood up and they found there was quite a bit of damage to the motor area. The fellow doing the welding will have to pay for the damage done and the extensive repair to the motor. He surely has liability insurance. Anyhow, it was John's work truck and it has to be repaired.

I read until 7:00PM and then I took my bath. I will read until 9:00PM and then go to bed.

I never did check on the cats to see if they were hungry. I forgot all about them.

I hope I sleep better then last night.

Thursday and Vacuuming

I slept poorly last night. I slept fine until 12:30AM. My text buzzed at 12:30AM and when I checked it there was no text. It buzzed two different times but there was no text either time. By that time I was woken up and it was restless light sleep from then on. I finally just got up about quarter till 5:00AM. I am usually up by 5:00AM anyhow. So I am having my breakfast now and my coffee and it's 5:34AM.

I had planned to go to Chanute to see Gay today and have lunch with her at Opie's in downtown Chanute but her Sunday school class is going to meet with her too and I decided  we would get a better visit if it was just her and me so I have e-mailed her my proposed change until tomorrow.

She had the rest of the week free so I don't think that will be a problem. Her sister and her sister's husband are in Wichita today and tomorrow for his doctor appointments so they would not be there either. About 8:30 I will try to call her on her land line. She gets very poor reception on her cell phone out there in the country. She tried calling me on it yesterday and it just kept breaking up. She finally just hung up and called me on her land line.

More later.. I will go check the "weather on the 8's" and also see if the cats are out there in about 45 minutes.

The only cat out there this morning was Scruff. Blondie was evidently in his home or somewhere warmer then in front of my door. I have been watching the weather and the news. Finally I talked Gay on the phone and changed my trip to Chanute to tomorrow..

I read for awhile and then decided to get busy with my cleaning. I  mopped the bare floors and  vacuumed the den and bedroom and hall. Then I cleaned up the vacuum sweeper and put it away until tomorrow when I get back from Gay's. Then I will do the living room carpet and the dining room rug.

I will go up highway 169 and see if it is finished. If it isn't, I will take highway 10 and go over to highway 75 north of Neodesha and use it to go north to 39 and turn east on 39 and use it to get to Chanute. I printed off her directions for that way and put them in the car...just in case I need them. Highway 169 is more the direct way...if it's open now. I will need to be there at Opies between 11:00AM and 11:30AM.

 More later..

For lunch I went out to Eggbert's and had their senior chicken fried chicken for my lunch. That included mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a hot roll. It was very good. I had had it once before at Bartlesville and once at Caney so I knew how good it would be.

It's 12:48 PM now and I will go read awhile again in a little while.

It's a beautiful sunny day but 21 degrees out there. Quite brisk!

It's nearly 5:03PM now and I have read all afternoon. I just ate an apple and another breakfast bar for my supper. I had a good breakfast and lunch so that should be sufficient.

At 6:30PM or so,I will take my bath and put my pjs and robe on and watch some TV or read some more. Then at 9:00PM I will plan to go to bed.

Wednesday and Bunco

I slept very well last night...didn't wake up even once in the night. I am starting to have my breakfast now. I am out of Chai Latte now and will probably order some directly from Keurig eventually if Walmart doesn't order any more of their brand.

It's 6:20AM now and in a little while I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and check on the cats. ....as soon as I finish my oatmeal.

According to the desktop computer the forecast is 37 degrees and cloudy for today.

I will go check the weather on the TV now and also check on the cats.

I will leave here  at 8:30AM and go to Coffeyville for my hair appointment and later at 1:00PM, for Bunco. I am in charge of the prizes this week so I will go to the bank too. We used to buy prizes for prizes but then David started giving $10.00 for the most Buncos and $5.00 each for the most winnings and the most losings. We all accumulated a lot of "stuff" in our closets that we didn't know what to do with, so the cash was easier and we all know what to do with that. We always spent $20.00 anyhow for the prizes no one knew what to do with.

The only cat that came this morning was Blondie. I don't know where Scruff was. I fed him and left the food out for awhile and then brought it in the garage.

It's 8:15AM  and time for me to leave for Coffeyville. I will get back to this later this afternoon.

More later..

I got my hair done and then stopped by Sonic and got a cherry limeade slush. I took my sacks by Genesis and the newspapers by Karan's then I went up to the senior center and read my Kindle until time to go to Bunco.

We had a good time. I paid those that won  most Buncos,  most wins and most loses. Janet gave me some leftover poinsettias and I took one to Marilyn and the other one I saved for me.

After Bunco, I took my leftover cake by Marilyn's apartment and stayed and visited with her until 5:45PM. I got home about 6:00PM and put away my groceries. Then I turned on the TV to catch the news.

I will read until 7:00PM when I plan to take my bath and try to get to bed by 10:00PM or so. I will be doing some mopping and vacuuming tomorrow and try to get to Opie's at Chanute and meet Gay by 11:00.

Tuesday and a Visit to Nancy

I slept well last night. Didn't wake up once in the night. I was up at my usual 5:00AM and dressed and got myself ready for the day. I plan to go down to Bartlesville this morning at 10:00AM and visit with Nancy. It's 43 degrees and clear according to the desktop computer. I hope it stays that way. I am having my coffee and breakfast now. In a little while I will go turn of the TV and watch "the weather on the 8's". Then a little later I will check on the cats. They were both here for supper last night. Speaking of supper, I told Nancy I would stay for lunch with her today.

Tomorrow is Bunco at the senior center in Coffeyville. First though is my hair appointment at 9:00AM. I will probably walk around the Country time mall to kill time and read my Kindle. I charged it again last night.  Bunco is at 1:00PM so I will have to pick up a treat for that. I also have the prizes to take care of. I will do it the way David does and give money for the prizes. I will take Marilyn any leftover treats as usual and stay for a visit.

It's 6:04AM now and I will go check on the weather and the cats and get back to this later.

According to the weather channel it is supposed to be pretty nice today in the lower 50's. Thursday will be a colder day.

Both cats came for breakfast and I fed them and they are still eating. When they are full, I will bring the dish back into the garage.  It's 6:30AM now and I will go back in and watch the news.

I see it's down to 35 degrees now.

It's 8:22AM now and I have been watching the CBS morning news and reading a little bit..

I plan to leave for Bartlesville at 9:15AM.

I am leaving now for Bartlesville and I will be back this afternoon.

I got there about 30 minutes early. I visited Nancy for awhile and Mary came in again and we visited too. Then Billie Jo (used to be Mason) came in too and we also visited. She visited for awhile and then told Nancy she would come back on Thursday to visit her. That will give Nancy two separate visits this week.

Later..after Billie Jo left we went to lunch. Last week Nancy wanted me to stay for lunch and I told her I would do it this week, So I did. We had a nice lunch and dessert.

Afterward I went back to Nancy's room for awhile and finally told her I needed to get back home. I have Bunco tomorrow and I needed to pick up a treat at the Caney Market. I did that and also mailed off a birthday card for Phyllis Fredensborg.

It's 2:30PM now. I will go back to my book.

I read until it was nearly time the CBS news came on and then came in here to the den to work five minutes or so on the blog.

More Later.... I will check on the cats now.

Both cats came for their supper and when they were finished and left, I put the food back in the garage.

Then I read my book until 7:05PM when I decided to take my bath. Then I may read some more until 9:00PM or so. That's when I plan to go to bed.

Tomorrow I will go to me 9:00AM hair appointment before I go to Bunco at 1:00PM.I will take my Kindle to read to pass the extra time.

Monday and Laundry

I slept pretty well for about an hour last night and then I woke up at 10:00PM with that hacking cough I had a month ago.  I finally got up and got those Zinc Gluconate Glycine lozenges I used to take to shorten the duration of a cold. That's what I took last month and it worked to stop the cough. I moved into the recliner in the living room until the lozenge melted and the cough stopped and then I went back to bed. From then on I slept very well. I think what starts that cough is sinus drainage.

Anyhow later I was up at 5:30AM and got myself ready for the day. I will start my breakfast and coffee in a minute. I have the laundry going now. It's Martin Luther King Day now and I don't know what all will be open. I was hoping to go down to the Copan Truck Stop and have their small chef salad for my lunch today. I will check it out later and see if they are open.

I have my breakfast ready now and will check on the cats after I eat and turn on the TV for the "weather on the 8's". I see the desktop computer says it's 26 degrees outside and clear.

Both cats were out there and were very hungry. I took their food out to them and Blondie finished first and left. Scruff is still out there. She has eaten but she must find a little warmth from around the storm door because she is huddled there.

Now back to the CBS news.

I have watched the CBS news and dried and folded and put away the laundry. I also washed my breakfast dishes and put those dishes away.

I guess I will get back to my latest book. I have had enough of the TV for now. It is 8:05 now.

It's 9:45AM now and I have been reading in my latest book. I am out of puzzles and there's nothing on TV. It's 32 degrees and sunny outside. I hope Copan Truck Stop is open today. I am tired of  frozen meals. Of course, lunch time is a couple of hours away.

I drove down to Copan and the truck stop was open so I had my usual...a small chef salad. It is very good...and healthy...a lot healthier then  a frozen meal...I am sure.

The sun is shining brightly. I have been cooped up in the house for so long that would  love to go somewhere but it's a holiday and I doubt anything much would be open so I may just go back to my book.

More later....

I read for awhile but I am bored to death. Unfortunately the kids are in guarantee so they can't have company and I don't know of another thing to do.

I have balanced my checkbook and that is fine...it balanced.

But I am bored to death. Tomorrow I will go visit Nancy in Bartlesville but today I am tired of reading and don't have any new puzzles. I may just go up to Independence for something to do.There is probably nothing open up there...not even WalMart.

I did drive up to Independence to the Dairy Queen and bought myself a Blizzard. Then I drove back home.

When I got home both cats were waiting for me for their supper so I fed them and when they were finished I put their double bowl back in the garage.

At 6:30PM, I took my bath and put my pj's on. I had watched the CBS evening news and then read until bed time and will read this evening until I am ready  to go to bed.

I see by the desktop computer that it is 43degrees and clear. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow.

Sunday and Virtual Church

I slept well again last night...only woke up once and took my meds then. I got right back to sleep and got up at 5:00AM. It's 6:00AM now and I am eating my breakfast. In a little while I will check on the cats.. I am anxious to see if the desktop computer will be fine this morning after that incident last evening.

So far, so good...I am anxious to see if it stays up without further incident.

At 11:00AM, I will watch "Beyond the Walls" from Ontario as they do a virtual worship service. They reach many continents that way and people of all sort of languages have the service translated into Spanish and French besides English. It's a lifesaver as far as having a worship service on Sunday mornings during the pandemic. We had to close the church building again since the area hospitals are full of Covid again. People who refuse to be vaccinated are just ignorant and put the rest of us at risk as well as their own families.

Being vaccinated during this pandemic is nothing to have a "choice" about  unless you "choose" to get the virus and pass it on to everyone you come into contact with. My daughter and her husband have had Covid and yet she was exposed again work by a person who came into her business who was not vaccinated.  She and her husband are now isolated and guaranteed during this time to see if she will get it again. Vaccination needs to be mandated like other life saving laws are. As long as there are ignorant people spreading it around it will go on for decades. Millions will die of it because ignorant people "choose" not to be vaccinated.  Te are the ones who need to be guaranteed for the safety of the public.

I will go watch "the weather on the 8's" and then check on the cats now. Only Blondie came for supper last night. Scruff didn't show up. If she is out there this morning, she will be very hungry.

Both cats were out there and very hungry. I took their food out and when they were finished  I brought it back in the garage.

I have watched the weather and there is no more snow in the forecast this week.

I have been watching the Tulsa news and drinking my new drink.

I will be finishing my dusting this morning too. I lack the den and my bedroom. I got the rest finished yesterday.

So more later... it's 7:30am now.

It's 9:34AM now and I have been watching Jane Pauly and the news on CBS. I am going to go back to my latest book right now.

It's almost noon and I am fixing another frozen meal for lunch. I have read in my latest book most of the morning. Now I will eat my lunch  after it sets in the microwave for one minute.

Darn! I was reading and lost track of time. I wanted to watch "Beyond the Walls"  worship service and forgot all about it over a book.

It's 1:40PM now and I have really got nothing much done..but reading.

John has kept me advised about the puppies KiKi had today. She had five puppies and seems to be done with just five. At least I have heard nothing new from John. They are both  quarantined because Leslie was exposed to Covid again by a patient. They both have had it already due to an idiot that wanted to meet John to sign a contract for his business and John met him and several days later John came down with the Covid. John called him to ask him if he was sick and he told John he wasn't but his wife had been sick for a week or so. He was a carrier. Of course, Leslie got it too from John. So I will have to wait to see these puppies until the kids are either through their quarantine or well if they do get the Covid again.

If I am going to finish my dusting of the bedroom and the den, I had better get to it. Daylight's burning.

Footnote...

It appears I can watch the worship service after all, Michael is playing his organ and they must have recorded the service.

They did record the service and I got to watch it in it's entirety. It was very interesting.

More later...

Both Blondie and Scruff came for supper about 5:30pm. After they ate all they wanted I took the bowl back into the garage.

I finished all the dusting and even washed the den windows on the inside.

I put away all the puzzles and put them back in boxes and took them into the garage to stack with other boxes I had saved.

At about 6:15PM, I took my bath. I plan to stay up until 9:00PM and then go to bed.
