Later on this morning I will pick up Bob for our breakfast at Eggberts. I don't know what the rest of the day will bring. I have no plans at this time. If it's not windy, I may rake again. The leaves I blew away from the carports and the grass in the middle of the fourplex is back and those leaves end up on our carports. The wind was out of the north and that did it.
I slept fitfully again early this morning. If I wake up to go to the bathroom, I seem to have trouble getting back to sleep. Finally, I just got up. Missy is still in on the bed. It's 4:00 now. I will get back to this later.
I noticed that Missy missed the litter box again for the nth time. I washed the mat under it and the things in the basket too. Then I went on to pick up Bob for breakfast. After breakfast I took him home and later...about 10:30, we left for Bartlesville. It was a beautiful day and we didn't want to waste it. We walked all around the mall and I bought Scott's birthday gift and then we went to McCalister's for a light lunch of a cup of soup and a half sandwich. Very good!
When we got home I took Missy out for awhile in the sun. She wanted back in to eat something and I had the mail by then and sat down to read the Time magazine....they were rehashing the election. I scanned it but didn't read much. I am sick of the election...as I am sure everyone else is.
I did some calling to learn just how many are coming tomorrow evening to the Living the Questions group here. So far, I have at least 12. I hope I have room for twelve. I actually only have room for 10 and that is tight. I will bring home a couple of folding chairs from church. I'm not sure where I will set them but I'll try to find a place. This is, after all, an apartment.
Marilyn, who has been sick and is getting well by taking IV antibiotics, plans to come, Mona and Richard, Gretchen, Karan, Joyce, Howard and Judy, Bob, Gary, perhaps the other Richard, Patrick, and myself.
I will be making a desert for the dinner after we have church tomorrow and hope to have some of that dessert left. I will use that (if there is any) and make an apple brown Betty too. I need to get some vanilla ice cream at Braums. I will make peach tea and perhaps we will have some coke and water too if they want anything to drink.
It will be another busy day.
More later...
Bob came over shortly after 5:00 and we watched an old movie. He left at 7:00, as usual and I took a shower and washed my hair. Then Missy and I watched TV until I simply could not keep my eyes open any longer. Then we went to bed.

Friday and Flower Beds
I awoke early again today. I notice I haven't blogged since Tuesday. I was very busy Wednesday and just forgot. The same thing Thursday. I cleaned the apartment in the morning, fixed lunch and then raked and bagged leaves and blew them off the drive and as much of the lawn as I could with Bob's blower. Then I enlarged the east flowerbed and added Miracle Grow and mulch to it. I hope to get to the nursery today and get some flowers that will add some color for the winter. I will put the rest of the Miracle Grow in the flowerbed John made for me and add mulch to it too.
The election was a huge disaster on Tuesday in my opinion. But President Obama is being very gracious about it and so I intend to follow suit, It surely can't be any worse then our President Bush who allowed Cheney to get us into a 16 year war with people who did not destroy the World Trade Center Buildings in New York. Those were mostly Saudis and we didn't go to war with Saudi Arabia. That was a fiasco we still haven't recovered from. When Clinton left office we had no debt and we had a huge surplus...enough to fix the infrastructure and also all the roads in American with millions left over. It didn't take long for them to use that for their war. The last six months of his second term, Bush told Cheney he wanted to make the decisions for that last six months. Cheney was so angry he didn't invite the Bush's to his daughter's wedding.
So we don't know what to actually expect from Trump. We will just have to wait to see.
Missy is patiently waiting for her breakfast and I'd better fix mine too. More later....
Well I got our breakfast over with and fixed lunch and then after Bob left, I went to the florist and bought some pansies for my east flowerbed. After I got them planted, I mulched the flowerbed even more and then I put the rest of the Miracle Grow in the flowerbed John made for me and covered it with mulch too. I need to download some photos so I can show you folks what I have been doing this week. If I get that done, I will post them here.
So more later...
O.K. This is the one I enlarged and filled with Miracle Grow yesterday Today I bought some pansies and planted them, added more Miracle Grow and then mulched them. Of course, I watered them too. Strangely enough, I sent them to the desktop computer but I could not find them there.. I have saved them when they came in the mail. Of well, they should be on this laptop so I'll just add them here.
This is the bed I planted the pansies in. That's the Lavender behind them. That lived through the winter. I hope it does again. That one tall flower is an Impatient that made it through the summer even though the Lavender was hanging all over it. That killed the other Inpatients.
This is the flowerbed I planted in earlier this spring. I took out the spent flowers so it's a little bare. This is the one my son-in-law John built for me after I moved into this apartment. I put the rest of the Miracle Grow in it and mulched it. I have Ginger and Scott's Mother's day miniature roses planted in there with the bulbs Leslie sent me earlier and some red salvia. The white flowers on the left are volunteers that came up from one of my neighbors flowerbeds. The bulbs Leslie sent me a couple of years ago came up this year again and were just lovely.
My kids are so good to me! They never forget a holiday. I will be spending Thanksgiving with John and Leslie and Christmas with Ginger and Scott. I wish Keith and Esther could be there with us too. But they live in Phoenix.
I took this photo of Missy Kitty yesterday. She was sleep here on the daybed and covered her eyes from the light. That is so cute!
She is doing that again right now here behind me. She is also snoring. What a cat!
More later...
Bob came over this evening to watch PBS with me and Brooks and Shields. After that, at 7:00, he went home.
Then I took my bath and watched TV with Missy in my lap until almost 9:00...then I went to bed. It had been another huge day.

Tuesday and Election Day
I got up about quarter till 5:00 this morning and got myself around to go vote. Gary called just before I left to pick up Bob and he needed a ride to the polls at the senior center. So I picked up Bob with and then went to get Gary and took him on to the senior center where he voted right away. We had gone on out to Grace Fellowship to vote and I ran into a snag. I was not listed in the book. There were about 8 of us that they could not find. A woman named Joyce was attempting to find out why when those running our precinct suddenly found us way out of alphabetic order. So I got my ballot after all and voted. What a mess that was. I was irritated. I had Gary to pick up and he was waiting patiently. I took Bob home first. He was right on the way. Then I got Gary and took him home!
In about ten minutes I will pick up Bob again and we will go to Independence to get my hair done and also shop for the Christmas Child project for church Sunday. I will need to get some groceries before then too. They are having a basket dinner and I will need to fix a dessert. Bob will take a salad. Johnna will bring soup for all.
I need to get some change for the beauty shop so had better leave now.
More later....I intend to watch the results of the election this evening.

Monday and Exercises and Lunch
I did not sleep well again last night. I think it is my inner clock that is confused about the time. Anyhow, I have a busy day so I need to get around early.
Missy, my cat, is waiting patiently for her breakfast and I am hungry too. All I had last evening while Bob was here was some popcorn. That didn't set too well.
I will pick Bob up for exercise class this morning and afterward meet Gay in Cherryvale for lunch...probably around 1:00 or so. Tony will have his dialysis from 12:00 until 4:00 so she will be free to come have lunch with me.
Later, at 6:30, I have to give the invocation for the city commission meeting. They are about as contentious as the national slate. I hope to pray for peace among their number as they make their decisions for the welfare of our city.
I saw on the news last night that the FBI found nothing to charge against Clinton. Unfortunately, his untimely announcement a week ago, set her back and she lost numbers. I hope that doesn't cost her the election. She's not the ideal candidate but she certainly is the better of the two. I couldn't bring myself to vote for Trump under any circumstances. To me, he is deplorable.
The e-mail controversy should not affect Clinton.
Here's what he reported:
Enough politics! Back later with more journaling.....
I drove up to Chanute in the rain to visit Gay and we had a really good visit. She fixed us lunch and her mother even ate a little. Her mother will be 100 next winter. She is barely with us though. Poor thing sleeps in a chair most of the time . I left at 4:00 and got home by 5:00. Bob came over to watch the news but I had to leave at 6:10 to attend the city commission meeting.
I attended the city commission meeting, gave the invocation and stayed for the entire meeting. When I got home, I took my bath and watched TV with Missy until 9:00 when I went to bed.

Here's what he reported:
The law was amended in late 2014 to require that personal emails be transferred to government servers within 20 days. But that was after Clinton left office. Watchdog groups conceded that she may not have violated the text of the law, but they argue she violated the spirit of it."A State Department spokeswoman says Hillary Clinton did not break any rules by relying solely on her personal email account. Federal law allows government officials to use personal email so long as relevant documents are preserved for history."

Sunday and Another Busy Day
I slept poorly last night. The change in the time back to standard time, I guess. It had me apprehensive. I only got up twice though. Once to turn on the air conditioning around midnight and once to go to the bathroom around 3:30 and take one of my meds.
I will fix Missy and myself some breakfast pretty soon. She is lying here at my feet patiently waiting. I have the bed made and myself ready for church. It's rather cool in here now. I suppose I will now turn on the heat. I wish fall would make up it's mind.
I have about finished with the book I thought I would recommend to the Church School class. I'm not sure about it now. I will consult with Bill about it before class. He is reading it too.
Bob is making the coffeecake this morning. It was his Sunday and he usually makes banana nut bread but he has the coffeecake mix so he is going to bake it this morning. I will pick him up at 9:00 for church. Phyllis is gone today to Overland Park to see her daughter and grandchildren there so there probably will just be Bob and I to go to Cherryvale for lunch.
I will still have my newsletters to do.
So, more later...
Only Bob and I were able to go to Cherryvale for lunch today. We got home just after 1:00 and I got my newsletters done. Now they are out on the mailbox.
I will try to read this afternoon. So more later...
I read awhile and then went to the bank to check my balance. The bank's server was down so I couldn't check it online.
Bob came over early to watch 60 Minutes but the program was late because of a football game. It was nearly 7:00 before it started.
After he left at 8:00, I took my bath and shower and washed my hair. I will sit with Missy in the recliner until I get sleepy enough to go to bed.
