Saturday and a Storm

 It is raining very hard this morning and we are under a severe storm warning. I slept fairly well last night and made my bed just before 5:00AM and am up and dressed and ready for the day. I opened the back door and looked out and the rain is pouring down now. Lots of thunder and rain noise. I haven't heard any sirens so I am not panicking....at least not yet.We certainly need the rain as long as it's just rain.

So More Later.... I will go turn on the TV and see how serious the storm is forecast to be. It is quieter now. It's 5:15AM now.

The storm warning expired just as I turned on the TV. I did catch the weather forecast though. 

Today is to be 81 degrees and thunderstorms.tomorrow is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy, Monday is to be 78 degrees partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Wednesday is to be 84 degrees and partly cloudy, Thursday is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Friday is to be 89 degrees partly cloudy. That's the forecast for now anyhow.and that's a couple of days of rain next week.

Of course, I haven't seen a thing of Blondie in this rain. It's 6:00AM now and I am having my breakfast here in the den.

Blondie finally came for his breakfast and I fed him both the chicken flavor food and the fish flavored cat food in separate sides of his dish.  He evidently favored the fish flavored food because that's what he ate from the most. When I buy cat food again, that's what I will get.

I went to the Caney Market to get that cranberry/grape juice in the small bottles and they were out and were not going to buy it any more. That's too bad because that's the juice I use. The clerk suggested I call the city of Caney and tell them I use that juice all the time and I need them to carry it or I will have to get it at Walmart.

I may do that.

It's 10:58AM now and I have been reading all the rest of the morning.

More Even Later...

I went up to Gabby's for lunch and had a coke with it. I like to go there every Saturday and she is only open on Saturday. She always has a good lunch too. Today was chicken enchiladas.They were very good!

I read the rest of the afternoon until time for my bath at 7:00PM. Then I took it and put on my pajamas and robe and went back to my book to finish it before bedtime.

Friday and Laundry and Cleaning

I slept well again last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day...and then I started my laundry. I haven't seen anything of Blondie yet this morning.

But I did see the forecast for the next week, Today is to be 87 degrees and PM thunderstorms, tomorrow is to be 85 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 79 degrees and AM thunderstorms, Monday  is to be 79 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and partly cloudy, Wednesday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, and Thursday is to be88 degrees and partly cloudy.. That's the week, Four days of probable rain. We certainly need it!

I have had my breakfast oatmeal and breakfast bar and coffee and now Chai Latte. I got my laundry in the washer early this morning and now it's in the dryer. 

I will begin my cleaning today with mopping the bare floors like the bathroom and kitchen and the front and dining room entries to the apartment. I will put the rugs at those places in the dryer on fresh air as soon as the dryer is finished with the laundry.

After that, I will begin the vacuuming. 

So More Later... 

I have been reading after I got the laundry folded and put away. Then Blondie finally came for his breakfast and I fed him. He ate his fill and then left. Now I will put the cat food away and then take my walk, It's 72 degrees so I might need my jacket.

When I get back home I will vacuum the apartment. 

It's 8:54AM now and I am back from my walk and ready to begin vacuuming. 

More Later:

I got the vacuuming finished and read awhile on the books I checked out at the Caney Library this afternoon.

Then I went up to Independence and ate a small pizza lunch at Big Cheese up there. 

Then I read some more. I finally went out back and watered the lilies and swept off the doormats. It's 4:56PM now and I expect it to rain this evening. I did water the back flowerbed. I should do the front one too and if it doesn't rain, I will.

I will dust tomorrow. 

I just took my bath and put my pajamas and robe on. It's shortly after 7:00PM. I think I hear thunder now and then. It's supposed to rain tonight and I hope it does.  We need the rain and the grass has been mowed on Wednesday. Those flowers in front around the mailbox need the water. I watered the back flowerbed earlier and swept off the doormats. 

Good! I do hear thunder!  We should get rain now. I will read until around 9:00PM and then go on to bed. I laid out my two Melatonin and an allergy pill. I will take then just before I go to bed.

It's 8:24PM  and pouring down rain. Blondie was here earlier and sate some cat food and left. It was thundering lightly then and he undoubtedly went to look for shelter. I hope he found some. It's really pouring down rain.

I have been reading with the front door open so I can watch the rain.  The flowers will like it...for sure. And maybe the river will like it too. Any rain, it will appreciate I am sure. I will read awhile more until closer to 9:00PM.

Thursday and Apartment Cleaning Tomorrow

I slept very well last night. I have slept so much better since I have been taking an allergy pill at bedtime. And the Melatonin helps too.

Blondie came for his breakfast this morning. I am sure he misses Scruff...I know I do.

I had the TV on and "the weather on the 8's" came right on. So I have the week's forecast.

Today is to be 90 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 86 degrees and isolated thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 83 degrees and isolated thunderstorms,  Sunday is to be 70 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Monday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 83 degrees and AM thunderstorms, and Wednesday is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms. .That's the week and lots of rain I see. Five days of much needed rain, Today and Monday appear to be the only days we don't have rain in the forecast.

I plan to clean the apartment this morning and I may go down to the Copan Restaurant for my lunch. It's been awhile since I have done that. I had so many treats yesterday at Coffeyville and Bunco that I didn't even eat lunch yesterday...or supper.

I read all evening and  took my bath early and went to bed early at 9:00PM.

I took my mile walk this morning and picked up considerably less trash. Maybe I am making a difference. I saw in the Chronicle that the city is going to have that brick mess cleaned up. They have found a man who will do it. His was the low bid.  That will make a huge difference in the downtown appearance, Thank God! Every little thing helps and that is not a little thing! It's a huge help! 

I picked up Sally at 11:45AM and we went to Copan Restaurant for lunch. We each had a cup of vegetable beef soup and she split a half order of french fried onion rings with me. It was very good and afterward I took her home. 

I spent the afternoon reading on the books I checked out at the Coffeyville library. About 7:00PM, I took my bath, put on my pajamas and robe and read until  8:33PM. Soon I will go on to bed.

I plan to clean the apartment tomorrow instead. 

Wednesday and a Hair Appointment and Bunco

I slept very well last night an was up shortly before 5:00AM. I dressed, made my bed and got myself ready for the day I have made my breakfast and am eating it here in the den while I post.

I got to the TV just in time to catch the weather forecast.

Today is to be 90 degrees and  mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 89 degrees and partly cloudy, Friday is to be 84 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Saturday is to be 86 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 81 degrees PM Thunderstorms and Monday is to be 80 degrees and partly cloudy, Tuesday is to be 84 degrees and  AM thunderstorms. So four days of possible thunderstorms. That should help the Caney River if they develop. I just hope it doesn't rain today since my mower is supposed to be here today and the yard does need mowing.

Toni got hold of me yesterday with a text and asked me to come to my hair appointment at 8:15AM this morning so I will leave here at 7:30AM.. just to be sure I am there on time. It's only 6:06AM now so I have plenty of time. I will need to go by the bank and get some money for the week too.

More Later... 

I did go by the bank and get a week's worth of cash. Then I went on to my hair appointment and got my hair done and then went on to the Woodshed and bought gas and after that, I went to the library and checked out two new books and then read for awhile until time to go park by the senior center and read some more. Finally I went in the senior center and read until time to play Bunco..

We had three tables for Bunco and we all had a good time. We finished at 3:30PM and I drove back home.

When I got home I found the man who mowed for me had mowed and I was really glad he got that done before it rains again.

Leslie called me and asked about Pam Green from Ponca City. I hadn't heard from her in ages. She usually only contacted me when she had bad news. It had been awhile, Leslie was going to call her  and she got her answering machine and left a message for her to call her back.

I took my bath at 7:00PM and read my book until almost 9:00PM. Then I decided to just go on to bed. I was very tired.

Tomorrow I will clean the apartment again. That's my usual cleaning day. I will also trim the yard if it doesn't rain.

 

Tuesday and Reading

I slept well last night and was up shortly before 5:00AM.  I hope to finish the last of the three books I checked out at the library earlier this week.. Then when I take my walk. I can drop it off at the library and later today go check out three more. 

Tomorrow is Bunco at the senior center in Coffeyville and also my hair appointment at Toni's there. 

I did catch "the weather on the 8's" this morning and I did some weeding in the small flowerbed by the front door earlier.

I plan to take my walk after awhile...probably after I finish that last book.

Today is to be 89 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 86 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 82 degrees and partly cloudy, Saturday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thunderstorms, Sunday is to be 82 degrees and AM thunderstorms and Monday is to be 82 degrees and mostly sunny.  That's the week, I hope my mower can get to my yard on Wednesday since there is much needed rain in the forecast three days on Thursday and Saturday and Sunday. 

Now I want to get my breakfast. 

I had my breakfast and finished my book. I pulled a few weeds from my front flower garden and then took off on my walk at 8:30AM.  I was back by 9:11AM with a half a grocery sack of trash. I put that in the dumpster. 

My old friend, Gay, called and was going to take her dog to the vet in Cherryvale for a treatment and she wanted to meet me at Anna Mae's in Independence at 11:30AM for lunch.  I will do that! It's been awhile since I have seen her. Usually I drive up to Chanute for lunch there with her. It's 9:14AM now. So I have plenty of time. I will leave her about 11:00AM and maybe a little bit earlier so I can stop at the Independence Walmart and get a few things.

More Later...

I did get a few things at Independence's Walmart. Gay and I had lunch and visited a long time and then went over to Ace Hardware and looked around! I got home at 2:57PM....very tired. I am going to go up and check out the Caney Library and see if it's still open and if it is, I will get some more books. If they aren't, I will get some tomorrow at Coffeyville's library.

Now I need to rest.

About 6:00PM, I took my bath and put my pajamas and robe on. I don't have anything to read at this point. I will get three more books tomorrow at Coffeyville's library.

I will look for something to read in my books. I have hundreds. Surely I can find something to re-read. I was going to Cheyenne's game tonight but I had forgotten she is at youth camp this week. Leslie reminded me. I hope it doesn't rain tonight. There was quite a bit of thunder earlier but no rain yet. My mower is supposed to mow tomorrow. If it rains, that won't happen.

Perhaps More Later..I am charging my watch right now. It was pretty low. I snapped the bracelet off and have it in the USB port of the desktop computer...

Monday and a Trip to See Nancy

I slept poorly last night. I think I was awake every hour on the hour and finally just got up shortly before 5:00AM. I checked and Blondie was not out front waiting for his breakfast.... and of course Scruff died yesterday so she won't be coming either.

The forecast for today is 87 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 87 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 90 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 87 degrees and PM thundershowers, Friday is to be 83 degrees AM thundershowers, Saturday is to be 84 degrees and scattered thundershowers, and  Sunday is to be 80 degrees and scattered thundershowers.Looks like three or four days of rain...which we badly need!

More Later...I am going to fix my breakfast. It is 5:30AM.

I have been reading ever since 5:30AM and it is 8:11AM now. I am going to take my walk now. When I get back I will think about leaving for Bartlesville to see Nancy.

I took my walk and mailed my mail at the post office on the way.  I was tired when I got home. I did put my trash container out by the curb for the trash collectors to pick up later this morning. I will wait until 10:00AM to leave for Nancy's. It's 8:51AM now.

So More Later... I left to visit Nancy so I would arrive there at 10:00AM. I helped her with her hair and clothes and er went for a drive and ended up at the restaurant. We ordered salads and I got ice tea, and Nancy got coffee. Soon Sally joined us and we ate and visited until Sally had to go.

I took Nancy back to the Assisted Living home and let her out with a hug at 1:00PM.

I will see her again next Monday.

I finally saw Stephen this afternoon. He was mowing his yard. I think he said he was going to see his grandson play baseball.

It's 4:50PM now and I have been reading all afternoon. 

In fact, I read until 9:26PM but I didn't finish the book. I will finish it in the morning. I am very tired. It has been a big day. 

Sunday and a Tragic Morning

I slept fairly well last night and was up a little before 5:00AM and made my bed and got myself ready for the day. I got my coffeecake in the oven and then went to check on Scruff. It was just as I feared, she was dead. I picked her up and put her in a box and put that in the trash receptacle. I was heartsick..there was nothing I could do to help her. Then I came back in the house and washed my hands carefully and thoroughly.  I didn't know what she died of and I sure didn't want whatever it was to be on my hands.

I checked the "weather on the 8's" next.  Today is supposed to be 88 degrees and mostly sunny, tomorrow is to be 87 degrees and mostly sunny, Tuesday is to be 87 degrees and mostly sunny, Wednesday is to be 87 degrees and mostly sunny, Thursday is to be 84 degrees and PM thunderstorms, Friday is to be 86 degrees and mostly sunny.  Saturday is to be 85 degrees and isolated thunderstorms. That's the week...two days of rain Thursday and Saturday.

I don't see anything of Blondie. I hope he is alright.

The worship  service was a sacrament service and Leslie was in charge. It was very different and very good. As usual, we had breakfast before the worship service.

I had lunch after church with Phyllis F. as usual. 

When I got home I sent out 6 letters to those who were not at church today and included a bulletin with the announcements and prayer list.  

Now I will go back to my book...the last one of the three this week.
