I slept very well again last night and got up at my usual 5:00AM. I got myself ready for the dinner in Bartlesville at the Price Tower. Karan will pick me up at the dental office parking lot here in Caney at 11:00AM and we will go on to Bartlesville for the luncheon. Rick and Carmen had to cancel last night. Rick has to work. He manages a large trucking concern and has a lot of responsibility.
I asked Nancy to come too but she was not feeling well last night and thought she had probably not try to plan to go. She had chili for lunch yesterday at Eggberts and I wondered if that would set well on her uneasy stomach. Evidently, it didn't.
Anyhow, I have had my breakfast and am ready for the day and looking forward to it. Karan said Leslie had agreed to let the congregation's funds pay for everyone's tour of the building. That's good to know. It's after 8:00AM now so I have about three hours to wait.
More later...
I went to the library and took my book back and got two more while I waited to go meet Karan. I tried to call Nancy a couple of times to see if she didn't want to go to dinner at the Price Tower with us but was unable to catch her at home.
So about 11:00AM, I went on up to the parking lot to wait. Soon Karan and the others came and picked me up.
This is a photo of the Price Tower in Bartlesville, designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1956.
We had a very good gourmet meal. Then we had the tour of the entire building. It was very interesting although the tower is not used for anything but a museum and art gallery now. That's a tragedy...yet they didn't choose to tear it down. Since Frank Lloyd Wright built it, that would be a waste of one of his national treasurers.
This was my table at the Copper Restaurant. Sue, Phyllis, Becky and Karan sat at the same table.
We got back home around 5:00PM. Karan had wanted to stop at Hobby Lobby so that took a little while.
After I got home, I watched TV and later took my bath around 7:00PM . I will go to bed in a little while. I am very tired.

Friday and a Very Cold Day
I slept very well last night. I put a quilt over my legs and was warm as toast. That helps a lot. It is 12 degrees here this morning. There is still a lot of ice out there so I may not leave the apartment again today. I have my tomato bisque soup and also my chili in the frig. I will probably eat the soup and tomorrow is our early Valentine dinner at the Price Tower in Bartlesville. Karan is driving so I will just park my car at the dental office parking lot and meet her there. I hope the ice is gone by then.
I have had my oatmeal and my coffee and Chai and juice. So I am warm on the inside just now.
I hope to get back to the library today. I want to return my book and get another few just in case it's a mess all next week.
More later...
The library was closed because of incriminate weather. I will have to return the book when it is open again. It has been a lovely day today...sun shiny and all. Nancy called this morning and we went to Eggberts for lunch. Then we went to the museum and looked at all the things they have accumulated there from Caney. Dale, her cousin, is doing a lot of work on it there. Afterward, we went to Nancy's home and visited all afternoon. We had a good time. I got home about 4:30PM and had my mail. I got my first gas bill. It was $25.34. I put it in the electronic account to be paid online on February 14th. So far, so good. But that was just part of a month.
Now I have my first Consumer's Report magazine to be read since my move. I also have my new Independence Reporter. I guess I will read awhile before the news comes on TV.
More later....
I watched TV until 7:00PM and then took my bath and got myself ready for bed. I plan to go to bed at 9:00PM as usual.

Thursday and House Cleaning Day
I slept well last night again although I got up pretty early this morning. I decided to make chili and also clean the apartment. The ground beef was thawed so I wanted to cook it.
It snowed a little last night. It's mostly ice so I haven't been out of the apartment. The mail should be coming soon and I will go out and check if I got any bills yet. I am very curious to see how much my bills are going to run here.
Nancy called this morning and I invited her over for chili but she called later and said she was afraid to get her car out of the garage. There is too much ice. I certainly understand that. About 11:00AM, I went ahead and ate my chili. Now I need to put it in a covered bowl and get it in the frig. I will eat it one more time before I freeze it. It was very good.
More later...
I have run out of anything to read and it was too cold to get out and go to the library again.
This was the snow and ice scene out my front window.
I had a phishing expedition again from someone pretending to be Cox. I checked it out with Cox and sure enough it was a phishing expedition. It's always Cox they imitate. It keeps me busy constantly checking them out.
What a mess!
It's after 4:30PM now and I have just puttered around all day. I will take a bath later before I go to bed.
Nothing much the rest of the day.

Wednesday and Bunco
I texted Marilyn this morning to be sure we were having Bunco at the senior center there in Coffeyville and she answered affirmatively. So I baked peanut butter criss cross cookies for my treat. I will pick up a drink or take my peach tea with me. It's only twice a month that we either have games or bingo and I don't go to Bingo.
I slept well last night again. I got up close to 5:00AM.
I texted Karan to remind her about the bunco game at 1:00PM. She responded o.k.
More later...
I did go to Bunco after my lunch. I ended up having tomato basil soup and cheddar cheese and crackers for lunch. I finished off my peach tea too. I was going to have chili but the Dollar General store did not carry great northern beans so I will make that tomorrow. It is to be icy out tomorrow anyhow. While I was in Coffeyville, I went to Country Mart and bought four cans of great northern beans for my chili tomorrow. I also got oleo and that dollar icing for my next cake. I went to the bank and withdrew my week's money too.
I didn't hear from Nancy today but of course, I was gone all afternoon.
I spent the evening reading my book and finished it.
After that I took my bath at 8:00PM and went to bed close to 9:00PM.

Tuesday and Cake Delivery
I slept very well last night. I took a melatonin before bed and since I had all my immediate problems solves, thanks to Leslie, I managed to sleep well.
I got my cake loaded into the trunk of my car so I wouldn't forget about it.
Bob texted me at 6:00AM to see if I was up and around and I was...just barely. I had dressed and put my makeup on when he called and was drinking some coffee. He wondered if were were having breakfast and I told him as far as I was concerned, we were. I have my hair appointment at 9:00AM and can be over there early enough for breakfast.
When I picked him up, he told me he had an appointment this morning with the Cox representative between 9:00AM and noon to hook up his TV again so he asked me if I could take the cakes up. Of course, I could. We transferred the cakes into my trunk and then went on to Eggberts for breakfast,. He insisted on buying my breakfast for the extra trouble he felt he had caused. After we caught up on our news, I took him home and went to my hair appointment. After that, I took the cakes on up to Independence and also stopped at Braums up there and bought my yogurt.
I notice we are under a winter weather advisory....so far, it's just a drizzle.
I called Nancy this morning and she is feeling bad again. I encouraged her to call Dr. Christensen and make an appointment. That's who I turned to after Dr. Gillis retired last month. She has felt bad, either with diarrhea or a stomach problem, for months. Now her right knee is hurting so badly she can hardly walk. I hope she will make an appointment and I will take her if she does. I told her I would also go in with her if she did. Four ears are better then two any day. I don't know whether she will or not.
I am so pleased with my new bamboo blind. It dresses up my den room really nicely.
I think I will turn on the weather channel and see what the forecast is here now. This afternoon, I want to take these books back to the library and get a couple more if I can. If the weather turns bad, I want to be able to read.

Monday and a Cake
I finished the second book and was going to take it back but they don't open the library until noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also I baked my cake for tomorrow. I will ice the cake after it gets cool.
I got the cake iced before Leslie got here.
Leslie came around noon and saw about hanging this new bamboo blind. I hope all goes smoothly. I had a time trying to hang pictures in that cement board. And she is going to try to hang that bamboo blind and the valance over it. I hope she brings a masonry drill bit.
She did that. That woman thinks of everything.
I will go on to Bartlesville with her and we will eat lunch down there. At 3:45PM, she has a doctor's appointment with the dermatologist, Dr. Eslicker. It will be a full day.
I am also using my new washer to do a load of laundry. This is the second time I have used it.
More later...
We had lunch at a new Chinese restaurant in Bartlesville. The meal was very good. We had orange chicken and brown rice. Then we went to Lowe's and priced roman blinds. They are custom sizes and so they came to over $1200. I will just have to do one blind at a time. First, before I do anything about the roman blinds, I will see how my budget goes. It may be spring before I can begin buying them one at a time.
Leslie got the valance up in the bathroom before we left for Bartlesville and later, after her doctor's appointment, she got the bamboo rod and blind up. It looks very nice. It also has a valance over it. I am so pleased!
Now I have had my yogurt and an ice cream bar. In about 45 minutes, at 7:00PM, I will take my bath and watch TV or Amazon Prime until 9:00PM and then go on to bed.

Sunday and the Superbowl.
In about 25 minutes the Superbowl will begin. I guess I will watch it.
I slept well last night even after getting an e-mail from Cox saying they were going to shut down my e-mail address and delete all my information in 90 days. I tried to reach someone in the business office and there was no one there on the weekend. So I called Cox Complete Care this afternoon and their tech named "Mike" checked it out and learned that was not going to happen. He dealt with someone who assurred us it was not going to happen. But Cox Communications has jerked me around so much the past three weeks or so that I cannot depend on that. They have changed my billing three times...depends on who you talk to as to what it is. My tech, that connected my new modem and router gave me a firm amount that it would be and then when I got an e-mail about the bill, that was nearly double what I had been told, I called them again and got an entirely different number. Dealing with Cox has been a nightmare.
I went to church this morning and then Phyllis and I went over to Just Us for lunch. Bob didn't want to go. Neither did Karan. Karan has been fighting a sinus infection. She was just going to go home and lie down. I took Phyllis back to church after lunch to get her car and then I drove back to Caney.
I have been reading a new book. I finished the one I was reading yesterday. But now it is time to turn on the Superbowl so I will sign off on this for now.
More later....
I watched the Superbowl but found it rather boring. Much defense but not much action.
At 9:30PM or so, I took my bath and went on to bed.
